Video annotation is an activity that aims to supplement this type of multimedia object with additional content or information about its context, nature, content, quality and other aspects. These annotations are the basis for building a variety of multimedia applications for various purposes ranging from entertainment to security. Manual annotation is a strategy that uses the intelligence and workforce of people in the annotation process and is an alternative to cases where automatic methods cannot be applied. However, manual video annotation can be a costly process because as the content to be annotated increases, so does the workload for annotating. Crowdsourcing appears as a viable solution strategy in this con- text because it relies on outsourcing the tasks to a multitude of workers, who perform specific parts of the work in a distributed way. However, as the complexity of required media annoyances increases, it becomes necessary to employ skilled labor, or willing to perform larger, more complicated, and more time-consuming tasks. This makes it challenging to use crowdsourcing, as experts demand higher pay, and recruiting tends to be a difficult activity. In order to overcome this problem, strategies based on the decom- position of the main problem into a set of simpler subtasks suitable for crowdsourcing processes have emerged. These smaller tasks are organized in a workflow so that the execution process can be formalized and controlled. In this sense, this thesis aims to present a new framework that allows the use of crowdsourcing to create applications that require complex video annotation tasks. The developed framework considers the whole process from the definition of the problem and the decomposition of the tasks, until the construction, execution, and management of the workflow. This framework, called CrowdWaterfall, contemplates the strengths of current proposals, incorporating new concepts, techniques, and resources to overcome some of its limitations.

AbstractThe IOM report ‘Improving Diagnosis in Health Care’ represents a major advance in summarizing the problem of diagnostic error. Three new concepts in the report will be helpful in future efforts to understand and improve the diagnostic process: a new definition of diagnostic error, a new framework for understanding the diagnostic process, and a new concept of the diagnostic ‘team’. This paper highlights these new concepts and their relevance to improving diagnosis.

This paper aims to mark out new concepts of r-single valued neutrosophic sets, called r-single valued neutrosophic £-closed and £-open sets. The definition of £-single valued neutrosophic irresolute mapping is provided and its characteristic properties are discussed. Moreover, the concepts of £-single valued neutrosophic extremally disconnected and £-single valued neutrosophic normal spaces are established. As a result, a useful implication diagram between the r-single valued neutrosophic ideal open sets is obtained. Finally, some kinds of separation axioms, namely r-single valued neutrosophic ideal-Ri (r-SVNIRi, for short), where i={0,1,2,3}, and r-single valued neutrosophic ideal-Tj (r-SVNITj, for short), where j={1,2,212,3,4}, are introduced. Some of their characterizations, fundamental properties, and the relations between these notions have been studied.

Observing new concepts in information technology, we pay attention to its impact on more effective supporting human and organisational knowledge. Knowledge management (KM) is one of such promising and intriguing concepts. Its goals and infrastructures are defined in different ways, therefore interdisciplinary approach seems to be useful. We have presented a short survey of theoretical concepts in management, marketing and decision theory, which were adapted by the theory of KM. On the other hand, knowledge validation (KV), defined as two procedures: verification and evaluation any form of knowledge, is aimed on assuring its quality. The paper discusses the crucial interrelationships between knowledge validation and management. The main goal of this work is positioning KV activities in the context of knowledge management process, emphasising usability of KV techniques during the whole process.

The economic-financial relations with foreign countries and organizations and that is include transition of the Yugoslav politics and it is complex subject about characteristics of the actual arrangements of the FR Yugoslavia with international financial institutions and organizations and that is only one important part. But interrelations that processes is obviously for this article main subject are open questions and dealed with it a perspective of the future arrangements. We must take micro and macroeconomic measures dealed with problems of our society and economy that arrangements will be important factors of the development of the economic development. International Monetary Found is concluded that FR of Yugoslavia have a great successes in the reforms of macroeconomic policy and in the first part dealing with inflation and growth of the currency reserves and growth of the industry production. Dealing with new macroeconomic policy bring the results and new tax politics and liberalization of the tax policy an currency system at the beginning of this year. New framework of the privatization and definition of banking system there is create a new legal framework with goal of transformation economy to free market economy.

The concept of ‘relative’ adrenal insufficiency during critical illness remains a highly debated disease entity. Several studies have addressed how to diagnose or treat this condition but have often yielded conflicting results, which further fuelled the controversy. The main reason for the controversy is the fact that the pathophysiology is not completely understood. Recently, new insights in the pathophysiology of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis response to critical illness were generated. It was revealed that high circulating levels of cortisol during critical illness are explained more by reduced cortisol breakdown than by elevated cortisol production. Cortisol production rate during critical illness is less than doubled during the day but lower than in healthy subjects during the night. High plasma cortisol concentrations due to reduced breakdown in turn reduce plasma ACTH concentrations via feedback inhibition, which with time may lead to an understimulation and hereby a dysfunction of the adrenal cortex. This could explain the high incidence of adrenal insufficiency in the prolonged phase of critical illness. These novel insights have created a new framework for the diagnosis and treatment of adrenal failure during critical illness that has redirected future research.

<p>A height definition in terms of geopotential numbers offers a variety of advantages. Moreover, from the theoretical point of view, such a definition is considered more fundamental. </p><p>We know, however, that relativistic gravity (here General Relativity) requires to reformulate the basic geodetic notions and to develop a consistent theoretical framework, relativistic geodesy, to yield an undoubtedly correct interpretation of measurement results.</p><p>The new framework of chronometric geodesy that builds on the comparison of clocks offers fundamental insight into the spacetime geometry if a solid theoretical formulation of observables is underlying modern high-precision measurements. Here we approach a genuine relativistic definition of the concept of height. Based on the relativistic generalization of geopotential numbers, a definition of chronometric height is suggested, which reduces to the well-known notions in the weak-field limit.</p>

There is no universal agreement regarding the meaning of the term “social software.” Clay Shirky, in his classic speech “A Group is its Own Worst Enemy,” defined social software as “software that supports group interaction” (Shirky, 2003). In this speech, this scholar of digital culture also observed that this was a “fundamentally unsatisfying definition in many ways, because it doesn’t point to a specific class of technology.” The example offered by Shirky, illustrating the difficulties of this definition, was electronic mail, an instrument that could be used in order to build social groups on the Net, but also to implement traditional forms of communication such as broadcasting, or noncommunicative acts such as spamming. In his effort to underline the social dimension of this phenomenon, rather than its purely technological aspects, Shirky decided to maintain his original proposal, and this enables scholars engaged in the analysis of virtual communities to maintain a broad definition of social software. Heterogeneous technologies, such as instant messaging, peer-to-peer, and even online multigaming have been brought under the same conceptual umbrella of social software, exposing this to a real risk of inflation. In a debate mainly based on the Web, journalists and experts of the new media have come to define social software as software that enables group interaction, without specifying user behaviour in detail. This approach has achieved popularity at the same pace as the broader epistemological interest in so-called emergent systems, those that, from basic rules develop complex behaviours not foreseen by the source code (Johnson, 2002). This definition may be more useful in preserving the specific character of social software, on the condition that we specify this carefully. If we include emergent behaviour, regardless of which Web technologies enter into our definition of social software, we will once again arrive at a definition that includes both everything and nothing. Emergence is not to be sought in the completed product, that may be unanticipated but is at least well-defined at the end of the productive cycle, but rather resides in the relationship between the product, understood as a contingent event, and the whole process of its production and reproduction. A peculiar characteristic of social software is that, while allowing a high level of social interaction on the basis of few rules, it enables the immediate re-elaboration of products in further collective cycles of production. In other words, social software is a means of production whose product is intrinsically a factor of production. Combining hardware structures and algorithmic routines with the labour of its users, a social software platform operates as a means of production of knowledge goods, and cognitive capital constitutes the input as well as the output of the process. If a hardware-software system is a means of production of digital goods, social software represents the means by which those products are automatically reintroduced into indefinitely-reiterated productive cycles. This specification allows us to narrow down the area of social software to particular kinds of programmes (excluding, by definition, instant messaging, peer-topeer, e-mail, multiplayer video games, etc.) and to focus the analysis on generative interaction processes that distinguish social software from general network software. Moreover, following this definition, it is possible to operate a deeper analysis of this phenomenon, introducing topics such as the property of hosting servers, the elaboration of rules and routines that consent reiterated cycle of production, and the relationships between actors within productive processes.

Genotype×environment (G×E) interactions complicate selection forbroad adaptation, while their nature and causes need to be understood toutilise and exploit them in selection for specific adaptation. This invitedreview combines an assessment of the literature with the experience we havegained from involvement in wheat breeding and associated research programs toassess (1) the implications of G×E interactions for wheat breeding inAustralia, (2) the impact that research into G E interactions has had onbreeding strategy, and (3) the evidence for impact from this research efforton genetic improvement of crop adaptation. The role of analytical methodologyin this process is considered and some important issues are discussed.There are sufficient examples drawn from wheat breeding in Australia tosuggest that progress in dealing with G×E interactions can be made andseveral of these are presented. They show that impact in plant breedingfollows from achieving an appropriate level of understanding of theenvironmental and genetic factors causing the interactions as well as anassessment of their importance in the target genotype-environment system. Anaccurate definition of the environmental factor(s) contributing to theG×E interactions has been particularly important in determining therelevance of observed differences in plant adaptation to the target populationof environments. From the combination of biological and statistical studies, amore comprehensive understanding of G×E interactions has emerged andcontributed to new concepts and procedures for dealing with them.Distinguishing between what are repeatable and non-repeatable interactions isa key step. Genuine cases of positive specific adaptation observed inmulti-environment trials (METs) can be exploited by appropriately targetedselection strategies, while non-repeatable interactions are accommodated byselection for broad adaptation.The investigation of G×E interactions for grain yield of wheat inAustralia has matured to the point where an understanding of some of theircauses has enabled wheat breeders to exploit positive components of specificadaptation. The experience that has been gained in achieving these advancesindicates the importance of establishing a MET system that is relevant to thetarget population of environments of the breeding program. The investment ofadequate resources into effective design, conduct, analysis, andinterpretation of METs remains critical to continued progress from selectionin complex genotype-environment systems that present large G× Einteractions. Wheat breeders who understand their genetic material and thetarget population of environments can then use the generated information baseto achieve impact from their breeding programs.

The vague graph has found its importance as a closer approximation to real life situations. A review of the literature in this area reveals that the edge coloring problem for vague graphs has not been studied until now. Therefore, in this paper, we analyse the concept of vertex and edge coloring on simple vague graphs. Specifically, two new definitions for vague graphs related to the concept of the λ-strong-adjacent and ζ-strong-incident of vague graphs are introduced. We consider the color classes to analyze the coloring on the vertices in vague graphs. The proposed method illustrates the concept of coloring on vague graphs, using the definition of color class, which depends only on the truth membership function. Applications of the proposal in solving practical problems related to traffic flow management and the selection of advertisement spots are mainly discussed.
