Background: Journal club (JC) is an accepted method to improve the knowledge of researchers by reviewing and discussing scientific texts and could also be effective in enhancing the quality of teaching and research in educational settings. Objectives: The present study aimed to evaluate JC meetings from the perspective of postgraduate students in Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences (KUMS) in Kermanshah, Iran based on the CIPP evaluation model. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 62 postgraduate students selected from the schools of health, nutritional sciences, and food industry of KUMS in 2019. The participants were selected via convenience sampling. Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire. Data analysis was performed in SPSS version 16 using bivariate correlation, one-way ANOVA, and t-test. Results: Positive, significant correlations were observed between the CIPP domains. In addition, the grade point average of the students had positive, significant correlations with the input and process domains. The items of the input domain regarding the relevance of the papers regarding the current issues of the field of study, appropriateness of the time of the event, and need to participate in JC meetings received the lowest average percentage of the maximum achievable score. Conclusions: According to the results, careful planning is required for the implementation of JC meetings by taking into account the relevant papers regarding the current issues of the field of study and time of the event.

This study aimed to evaluate which aspects of moral disengagement (MD), empathy, and representations of the victim’s experience (VER) could be predictors of cyberbullying (CB). One hundred and eight-nine students (11–17 years old) completed 3 self-report questionnaires: An MD scale, an empathy scale, and a CB questionnaire. In relation to the personal experience of CB, four groups were identified: Victim, bully, bully/victim, and no experience with CB. The linear bivariate correlation analysis shows correlations between empathy and VER, between empathy and MD, and between MD and VER. A multinomial logistic regression identified which predictors could increase a subject’s probability of belonging to one of the four groups regarding the personal experience of CB (victim, bully, bully/victim, no experience). Findings highlighted that low cognitive empathy might increase the probability for a student to belong to the bullies’ group, rather than the victims’ group. Furthermore, low perception of the consequences of CB on the victim might increase the probability of belonging to the bully, bully/victim, and no experience groups. Then, a high score in the diffusion of responsibility was a significant predictor of belonging to the victim group rather than the no experience group. Results from this study confirm the need for preventive measures against CB, including the empowerment of cognitive empathy, decreasing the diffusion of responsibility, and increasing the awareness of the consequences of CB on the victim.

Background: Student anxiety about statistics may lead to poorer learning outcomes. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate an exercise designed to teach students in an introductory statistics class the principles of bivariate regression and to emphasize how statistical tools used by psychologists are also implemented in other fields. Method: Students used a published model on the relationship between tooth size and the length of great white sharks to estimate the length of extinct sharks and to explore factors that could affect the accuracy or validity of regression analyses. Data from an anonymous self-report scale were used to assess the activity. Results: More than 95% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that the activity was engaging, approximately 95% of students agreed or strongly agreed that the activity helped them learn about factors that can lead to problems with bivariate correlation/regression, and approximately 91% of respondents correctly answered a question designed to assess basic content acquisition. Conclusion: Feedback data suggest that the exercise was successful in achieving its content and process learning goals. Teaching Implications: Implementation of similar exercises may improve student engagement and outcomes in psychology statistics courses.

Impaired insight in patients with schizophrenia results in less satisfactory clinical outcomes. This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between insight and individual psychopathological dimensions in inpatients with schizophrenia using a self-report questionnaire. In this study, 90 patients with schizophrenia aged 18–75 years admitted in the acute psychiatric ward of a medical center in Taiwan were enrolled. Patient insight was measured using the Self-Appraisal of Illness Questionnaire (SAIQ), and psychopathological dimensions were measured using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and its five-factor structure model. A higher SAIQ score indicates greater insight. In bivariate correlation analyses, statistically significant correlations were observed between age, single marital status, educational level, and positive, excited, and depressed symptom factor of the PANSS and SAIQ score. In regression analyses, age and excited and depressed symptom factors were significantly associated with SAIQ score. No significant association was observed between insight and neurocognitive functions. Considering demographic characteristics, psychopathology, and neurocognition, in the acute phase of schizophrenia, younger patients with less severe excited symptoms and more severe depressive symptoms had greater insight.

The presented paper examines the deployment of a cost-effective biofeedback system that provides anxiety awareness during online examination activities. Human anxiety is classified by evaluating biosignals related to skin conductance, skin temperature, and heart rate. The first aim of this study is to check the presented system performance. Thus, we test the convergent validity of the system regarding self-report measures of anxiety. Moreover, the system is validated against a commercial tool of anxiety detection. Fifteen (15) postgraduate students took part in the relevant psychometric test. The convergent validity of the system is found to be satisfactory. The second aim of this study is to identify the participant’s personality dimensions according to Technology Readiness Index (TRI) which affects their academic performance and their real-time anxiety, as provided by the biofeedback device, during academic examinations. Thirty-five (35) postgraduate students, who were taking examinations in the form of synchronous online tests in the classroom for one of their lessons, took part in this stage of the research. The examined relationships are presented via a path model showing mainly that insecurity causes academic performance to decline, which in turn has a significant negative effect with increasing anxiety.

Multivariate regression analysis of academic aptitude, test anxiety, and self-report study data from 122 undergraduates indicated high school rank to be the best predictor of grade point average. The number of days Ss reported studying and one test anxiety scale also added significantly to the prediction. Analysis of the study-relevant variables across the semester indicated differential patterns of study existed for students with good, average, and poor grades. The relative independence of test anxiety and study behaviors suggested that the latter class of variables might profitably be used to increase prediction of academic performance.

Nowadays, the implementers of Civilian Personnel (Pegawai Negeri Sipil/PNS) Career Development Programs within the Indonesian Navy are still one with military personnel where their existence is only complementary so that they become less optimal/less focused. In its implementation, it is only carried out by officials at the level of Head of Affair (Superintendent/PNS class III/c), the impacts are low of performance, competence and confidence that can be related with weakening work performance. This study aims to provide an evaluation of Civilian Personnel career development programs within the Indonesian Navy by using the CIPP evaluation approach (Content, Input, Process, Product) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods. Based on the results of the program evaluation study, it can be seen that the results of the Context aspect evaluation amounted to 85.84% with the Excellent category; Input aspects amounted to 76.38% with good categories; Process aspects were 79.77% with good categories; Product aspect is 82.48 in the excellent category. So, the overall evaluation of the Civilian Personnel career development program is 81.12% with an Excellent category. The results of the recommendations state that career development programs need to be revised on several aspects of the criteria.

Objective. To determine anxiety in relation to gender, Grade Point Average (GPA), level of education and academic and clinical situations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Also, to identify academic and clinical anxiety levels among postgraduate pediatric dentistry students. Methods. A cross-sectional study at governmental training hospitals was conducted. All registered postgraduate students in pediatric dental programs during the year 2015-2016 were included in the study. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed electronically to 60 postgraduate pediatric dentistry students aged between 25 and 45 years old. The questionnaire is composed of 55 questions that investigated demographic data, academic and clinical related situations including investigations, diagnosis, treatment, and complications in treatment. Results. The study showed a higher anxiety level in younger age dental students (76.7% compared to 23.3%) and Saudi board residents (60%). Comparing gender differences in anxiety revealed that a significant difference (P≤0.05) was found and anxiety seems to be more among female dental students (2% very anxious, 64% slightly anxious, and 34% not anxious) as compared to male dental students (8% very anxious, 69% slightly anxious, and 23% not anxious). Conclusions. There was increased awareness, detailed understanding, and handling of the patients by senior postgraduate pediatric dentistry students compared to junior students.

Purpose The purpose of this article was to describe the validity and reliability of the Fun and Social Engagement Evaluation (FUSE) developed to evaluate and measure social engagement displayed by nursing home residents during Bingocize. The FUSE combines health care worker observation and a resident self-report measure to produce a score that represents a resident's total engagement. Method To describe validity, trained health care workers who implement Bingocize were surveyed about the items on the FUSE. Visual inspection of bar graphs of responses to survey questions were used to determine content validity. To assess reliability of the FUSE, nursing home residents were evaluated by trained research assistants. Test–retest reliability of the participant scores 1 week apart was determined with the bivariate correlation (Pearson product–moment correlation coefficient). Results For validity, the majority of survey respondents indicated that the behaviors were representative of nursing home residents during Bingocize. For reliability, there was moderate–strong test–retest reliability over 1 week ( r = .60). Interrater reliability between two raters observing eight participants across two sessions was significant, κ = .68 (95% CI [.504,.848]), p < .0001. Conclusion Results offer evidence that the FUSE is a valid and reliable method for determining social engagement during Bingocize.

Indonesia has nuclear technology which has 3 research reactors developed. The three reactors are Triga Mark II power of 250 kW, Kartini power reactor 100 kW and the largest reactor is Multipurpose Reactor G.A Siwabessy with 30 MW power. Based on the IAEA capacity of 30 MW is included in the second hazard category that has the potential of radiation distribution up to a radius of 5 KM. One of the efforts implemented is with the implementation of OHSAS 18001 on each work unit. In progress, evaluation should be carried out. The evaluation model used is Context evaluation model, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) according to Stufflebeam. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that is important to evaluate the application of OHSAS 18001 in support of BATAN preparedness. Data completion techniques use interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the context evaluation study indicate that OSH policy of PTKRN, PTLR, PRFN and PTRR work units get good value (100%). Evaluation of scores (inputs) from identification aspects of potential hazards, identification of rules, role resources and OSH programs are both good (91%). Evaluate the implementation (process) of aspects of training, monitoring and measurement, audit, and simulation of emergency response well (94%). Result evaluation (Product) for K3 culture aspect and zero accident result is good (81%). Thus the implementation of OHSAS 18001 in BATAN can support BATAN nuclear preparedness
