Logic and Law in Russian and Western Culture

The purpose of my paper is to compare those texts of Russian and Western thinkers where the relations between logic and law are discussed, and especially to show both the differences and the agreements of their understanding of this connection. Second, I would also like to show and contrast the place of logic and law in Russian and Western systems of education. Third, I propose to clarify some conclusions from my analysis of these relations for understanding the social life of a country and its culture. I believe that this is possible since the relations between logic and law, which are a special subject-matter, are only a part of a larger whole. There is no hard and fast line separating the place of these relationships from the whole of culture. The quality of this relationship is an indicator in some sense of the nature of culture and of its democracy. I would like to show with regard to the West that the classical logical culture determines the types of rationalities, argumentation patterns, and various kinds of political and juridical rhetorics. The consequences of the lack of logical culture in Russia will also be shown.

SYNOPSISOne hundred patients, selected to be representative of those attending general practitioners with non-psychotic psychiatric disorders were followed up for one year. standard assessments of mental state, personality, social stresses and supports were carried out for each patient at the outset and after a year.The outcome for this cohort determined both by the level of psychiatric morbidity at interview after one year and by the pattern of the psychiatric morbidity during the year has been analysed with reference to the assessment measures. Discriminant function analysis indicates that the initial estimate of the severity of the psychiatric morbidity and a rating of the quality of the social life at the time of follow-up are the only factors that significantly predict the psychiatric state after one year. Social measures also predict a pattern of illness charactorized by a rapid recovery after the initial assessemtn. Patients who reported continuous psychiatric morbidity during the year were, older, physically ill and very likely to have recevied psychotropic drugs. Receipt of this medication during the year was associated with initial assessments of abnormality of personality, older age, and a diagnosis of depression.The findings of this study are seen to support a triaxial assessment and classification of non-psychotic psychiatirc disorders, with symptoms, personality and social state being rated independently.

Background: For people living with or affected by Huntington’s Disease (HD) to experience a good quality of life, tailored support is required to meet physical, cognitive-behavioral, psychological, and social support needs. Substantial service and knowledge gaps regarding HD exist across support providers and service systems. Measuring unmet needs and what quality of life looks like is a fundamental step required to determine the social impact of service investment and provision. The objectives of this study were to validate and map a draft set of HD Social Impact Domains (HD-SID) against existing national and international outcome frameworks; and evaluate and finalize the HD-SID set using a co-design approach with people with lived experience of, and expertise in, HD. Methods: This research used a qualitative co-design process, with 39 participants across four stakeholder groups (people who were HD gene-positive, gene-negative family members, academics, peak organizations, and service providers) to: (i) map and verify the social life areas impacted by HD; (ii) undertake a rigorous three-phased, qualitative process to critically evaluate the draft HD-SID; and (iii) seek feedback on and endorsement of the HD-SID through this co-design process, with a final set of HD-SID identified. Results: Endorsed HD-SID comprised risks and safety (including housing stability, and economic sustainability) and social inclusion (including health and symptom management, physical wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, and building resilient relationships). Conclusions: Effective measurement of the impacts and outcomes for people with HD is informed by both extant measures and an understanding of the specific population needs. This qualitative co-design research demonstrates that HD-SID resonate with the HD community.

The article analyzes the level of happiness on the basis of the data provided by the RLMS study. Happiness is viewed as a subjective state of mind influenced by the social situation in which an individual finds him or herself. The level of happiness turns out to be dependent on sex and age. The latter is especially salient: young people feel happy more often than respondents in more advanced age groups. Standards of living and employment are also marked as variable that have considerable impact on the level of happiness. It appears that income influences happiness indirectly through the parameters of social environment and norms that characterize it. A respondent feels somewhat happier if his or her level of material well-bing is higher than the average. The level of respect shown by other people towards the respondent is another factor that can impact the level of happiness. The feeling of loneliness is a variable with considerable influence on other parameters of social life: the lonelier is the person, the more likely he or she would feel unhappy. The study demonstrated that the level of happiness, against expectations, depends primarily on the quality of social milieu.

Every person – regardless of place of residence, age, sex, or social status – needs an authority figure, someone they can trust, someone who serves as their source of inspiration and a beacon of hope. However, numerous contemporary researches point out to the existence of a crisis in terms of personal examples, the decline in the quality of education both at home and at school, and the worrisome rise in consumerist and egotistical attitudes which results in pathologies of various shape and form and consequently leads to the general deg¬radation of society. The social life transformations necessitate the introduction of changes to education and the image and authority of a teacher. The purpose of this article is to highlight the role of authority in education, show teacher as a figure of authority as perceived by pupils and their parents, and their expectations and preferences as well as to attempt to define the future of authority in the changing world.

Today’s society is undergoing great transformations in every sector. One of the most important transformations of the social life is the making of technology and internet available to masses. The technology and internet have also visibly transformed the education sector. The society is facing continuous challenges related to the competition, globalisation and the demand from the job market for qualified employees. These challenges go by side by side with the transformation of the education sector, where a great deal is being invested on the use of ICT, mass education, and the introduction of new methods and tools of teaching. The use of ICT and e-Learning is an important challenge faced by Albanian universities in the mission to improve the quality of teaching, students’ results, and mass education, and achieve the necessary standards. Priorities like equal access to education and lifelong learning would be only slogans without the use of ICT and e-Learning. Polls and interviews were conducted for this study, to obtain a view of the use of e-Learning and the approach to e-Learning in Albanian universities, and also of the government and universities policies. Conclusions of this study are obtained by processing data from questionnaires filled by lecturers in some of the main Albanian universities.

In a sustainable society, the integration into the activity of entities of the actions from the sphere of social responsibility becomes more and more evident. The study analyzes the textile industry in Romania in terms of social responsibility, the involvement of companies in this industry in asserting the values of this level. Thus, a quantitative marketing research is carried out at the level of the population in Romania, a piece of research which is aimed at identifying the opinions and attitudes of the citizens regarding the social responsibility adopted by the Romanian companies, with emphasis on the companies in the textile industry. In this research, particular attention was given to the comprehension of the reality of the aspects in which consumers perceive the requirements of social responsibility and of the way in which they function in practice. The results of this research can be used by the companies in the textile industry as well as by all the companies interested in this aspect in order to improve the quality of the services and of their implications in the social life and in order to respond to the needs of the citizens as well as possible.

ABSTRACT This research considers that the inclusion of theater in the initial teacher training represents a significant improvement of curriculum and teacher professional development. Several worldwide initiatives aimed to raise the quality of initial teacher training is one of the current reforms’ axes and agreement that improving educational system depends on the quality of their teachers. However, the current demands in education go beyond a set of measures or resources. Education requires a new professor, an integral and effective communicator, capable of handling different types of languages and dialogues with multiple intelligences. An innovative teacher, who is able to understand the cultural diversity of a society which constantly renews its knowledge of the universe and that has changed the social life and the nature of its spatialtemporal relationships. Using a multidisciplinary approach, it is intended to show that theatrical resource contributes significantly to the construction of a new teachers’ profile, by putting at his disposal communication tools (verbal and non-verbal) which allow him to enhance different aspects of his professional development: physical, cognitive and emotional. RESUMEN Esta investigación considera que la inclusión del teatro en la formación inicial del profesorado representa un aporte significativo para el mejoramiento del currículo y del desarrollo profesional docente. Diversas iniciativas en el mundo apuntan que elevar la calidad de la formación inicial del profesorado es uno de los ejes de las actuales reformas y concuerdan en que la mejora de un sistema educativo depende de la calidad de sus maestros. Sin embargo, las exigencias en materia educativa van más allá de un paquete de medidas o recursos. La educación requiere un nuevo educador, un comuni-cador integral y eficaz, capaz de manejar diversos tipos de lenguaje y de dialogar con múltiples tipos de inteligencia. Un docente innovador que comprenda la diversidad cultural de una sociedad que renueva su conocimiento del universo cons-tantemente y que ha modificado la vida social, así como la naturaleza de sus relaciones espaciotemporales. The aims of this research is to describe the roles of woman in Nggorea village in order to increase the economic social of family by local weaving cloth heritage. This research is a descriptive qualitative. Data collected by direct observation, documentation, and interview. In this research shows that beside as the housewife, the woman at Nggorea village roles to increase the economic in their family by using the local weaving cloth, which is the culture heritage of the ancestor. Generally, the activity of weaving by woman in Nggorea village is just to spend their time after finishing the homework and to continue the culture heritage. The product of woven cloth can be used as the daily clothing and as used at the culture ceremony. Meanwhile, to fulfill their daily life needs are getting by gardening and fishing. However, the product of woven cloth is known by many people and the function of the woven cloth is varied such as to make a coat, bag, skirt, blanket, and so on. The quality of woven cloth give an effect to its price, so it can influenced the economic social of Nggorea society. There are some kinds of social economic increasing at Nggorea village, such as fulfill the life needs and to get the higher education so that it can influence to the better social life. Automatically it influenced to the social status of society.

Worry about COVID-19 is a central topic of research into the social and economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Worry can be a negative and debilitating experience that damages mental health and discourages healthy re-engagement with the world, but it can also be a problem-solving activity, directing people’s attention to problems, and encouraging them to act accordingly. We present in this paper a way of measuring worry about catching COVID-19 that distinguishes between “functional fear” and “dysfunctional fear.” Drawing on work into fear of crime, our classification divides people into three groups: (1) the unworried, (2) the functionally worried (adaptive emotions encourage proactive behaviours to reduce the chance of infection) and (3) the dysfunctionally worried (quality of life is damaged by the emotional experience or taking ineffective or damaging precautions). Analysing data from two waves of a longitudinal panel study of over 1,000 individuals living in ten cities in England, Scotland and Wales, we find differing levels of negative anxiety, anger, loneliness, unhappiness and life satisfaction for each of the three groups, with dysfunctionally worried experiencing the most negative outcomes and functionally worried experiencing less negative outcomes than unworried. We find no difference between groups in compliance and willingness to re-engage in social life. Finally, we compare perceptions of risk (differentiating between likelihood, control and consequence) for each group, and find a difference between the dysfunctionally worried compared with functional and unworried groups. Our findings inform what sort of content-targeted messaging aimed at reducing dysfunctional worry might wish to promote. We conclude with some thoughts on the applicability of our measurement scheme for future research.

Sustainability is the basis for survival on Earth, as well as for the survival of mankind. Sustainability is connecting with growing population. Sustainable development implies the merger of the three components in a single unit. The first one is the economic viability, the second includes social sustainability, while the third is linked to environmental sustainability. The social component of development relates to the quality of life of people their habits and lifestyles. This chapter put emphasis on the social component of sustainability in Serbia that includes quality of life but also the index of human development. The results of PEST analysis of the Eastern Serbia will explain factors that affect the implementation of sustainable development in the Balkan region. With PESTEL analysis applied to the eastern part of Serbia, it can be observed a wider picture of social life in other smaller countries of the Balkans with similar economic and social characteristics such as Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Srpska, Macedonia.
