Education in the 21st century is confronted with many challenges - it needs to be personalized, adaptive to user needs, collaborative, social, multimedial, and technologically supported. The development of information technologies such as cloud computing, mobile technologies, platforms for social networking and collaboration, and intelligent systems, has created enormous opportunities for improvement of the education processes. In order to ensure required quality level, educational institutions are forced to enter the digital transformation process. In this paper, the analysis of the existing state of the education system and overview of the existing results in the digital transformation are given. Process model for digital transformation of education that encompasses the entire lifecycle, as well as the framework for implementation of cloud digital services with basic phases and steps is presented. The concrete use cases of application of the digital services in teaching and learning are shown. The results obtained show efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed process model and the framework, as well as the cloud-based digital platform. The main benefits include a higher satisfaction level of students and teachers, better exam results, more intensive collaboration and communication, knowledge exchange, lower costs, as well as a better reliability and security of the system. Service for monitoring and data analysis enable more efficient decision making and taking actions for improvements.

While information technologies, the Internet, and mobile technologies are introducing innovative approaches to knowledge exchange, communication, and new knowledge generation, the health system is comparatively slow in taking up these approaches towards healthcare service delivery. This chapter discusses the opportunities that information technology (IT) can offer to health care system innovation and improvement, highlights some key IT trends that will guide research and development, and highlights some current examples. Some action steps are suggested to accelerate the adoption of IT into routine health practices.

The digitalization of Moroccan universities is an emergent subject that interest several researchers and professionals in information technologies. The digital challenge is becoming more and more crucial with the use of new technologies of information and communication. Universities put students at the center of their concerns and strive to offer them a high quality services. Several international initiatives have been taken in this direction [1] [2]. The Moroccan university, too, is part of this perspective and has many digital transformation plans in its projects portfolio [3]. However, we have never evaluated these initiatives from student’s perception and have never reported their progress. In this paper, we try to evaluate on a sample of students across different Moroccans institutions, their perceptions and opinions about the maturity of these deployed services.

The paper analyzes the development trends in digital transformation of mining operations, which involves introduction of digital technologies into various business processes with mining companies. The main stages in transition to the new technological modes in mining of mineral deposits using intelligent systems and digital technologies are identified with due account for the specific features of the mining industry. The main ways of methodological support for the ESG rating of mining companies are proposed. It is shown that in the development of scientific and methodological foundations of sustainable development of mining operations it is important to justify the design principles for information technologies to work with Big Data to solve issues concerned with designing, operation, conservation and closure of mining operations..

It is argued that the digital technology has made possible the vast range of applications and media forms including virtual reality, digital special effects, digital film, digital television, electronic music, computer games, multimedia, the Internet, the World Wide Web, digital telephony and so on [8]. Digital transformation has been particularly influential in new directions of society.Providing schools with digital technology promises a high return on investment. The presence of computers and Internet access raises technology literacy and skills, better preparing the future generations to participate in the information society [12]. To this end, schools represent ideal access points because they cover a large part of the population, especially in developing countries. Starting from 1990s, many educators have been realised the potential of Internet for educational purposes and began to introduce it into classrooms. According to [10] the popularity of web-based teaching and learning lies in the strengths of its distributed nature and the case of its browsing facility. Both the use of digital technology and increased interest in student-centered learning may lead to a significant change of the teacher’s role, as well as the recognition of the active role of the learner in the learning process.

Energy generation, along with other sectors of Russia’s economy, is on the cusp of the era of digital transformation. Modern IT solutions ensure the transition of industrial enterprises from automation and computerization, which used to be the targets of the second half of the last century, to digital enterprise concept 4.0. The international record of technological and structural solutions in digitization may be used in Russia’s energy sector to the full extent. Specifics of implementation of such systems in different countries are only determined by the level of economic development of each particular state and the attitude of public authorities as related to the necessity of creating conditions for implementation of the same. It is shown that a strong legislative framework is created in Russia for transition to the digital economy, with research and applied developments available that are up to the international level. The following digital economy elements may be used today at enterprises for production of electrical and thermal energy: — dealing with large amounts of data (including operations exercised via cloud services and distributed data bases); — development of small scale distributed generation and its dispatching; — implementation of smart elements in both electric power and heat supply networks; — development of production process automation systems, remote monitoring and predictive analytics; 3D-modeling of parts and elements; real time mathematic simulation with feedback in the form of control actions; — creating centres for analytical processing of statistic data and accounting in financial and economic activities with business analytics functions, with expansion of communication networks and computing capacities. Examples are presented for implementation of smart systems in energy production and distribution. It is stated in the paper that state-of art information technologies are currently being implemented in Russia, new unique digital transformation projects are being launched in major energy companies. Yet, what is required is large-scale and thorough digitization and controllable energy production system as a multi-factor business process will provide the optimum combination of efficient economic activities, reliability and safety of power supply.

Today, Industry 4.0 technologies, such as Big Data analytics and mobile technologies, are forcing firms to seek new ways to create and deliver customer value. We argue that the Android project, one of the most successful open-source digital platforms, reflects a new business model in the age of digital transformation. In the Android community, application developers create and sell applications for the Android operating system provided by the open-source firm (Google), and share the profit with Google. Such an open-source strategy forces the open-source firm to give up the profits from selling the operating system to customers. A firm generally chooses an open-source strategy to increase its user network size. Using the concept of creative intensity, or the speed of idea generation, we offer a new explanation regarding the benefits of an open-source strategy in the age of digital transformation. We investigate how to enhance creative intensity and profit on the open-source digital platform. Our model suggests that an open-source strategy effectively manages the diminishing value of ideas and, thus, facilitates the dynamic capability of an open-source firm.

The purpose of this study is to explore Personal Digital Archiving, and its practices, reasons, and challenges in desktop and in ubiquitous environment such as desktop computers, laptops, mobile phones or smartphones, tablets, and cloud services. Moreover, it is also aimed to develop a model of Personal Digital Archiving process for desktop and ubiquitous devices. This study used Preferred Reporting Items for the Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis guidelines for searching and devising, and inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Search was conducted from selected repositories, databases, and core journals, potentially containing studies related with Personal Digital Archiving. Consequently, 21 studies were included through identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion of studies process. It was found that people used multiple devices such as mobile phones or smartphones along with other devices. It was established that people had also used cloud services with different devices including computers and smartphones or tablets for Personal Digital Archiving. Five major categories of individuals’ Personal Digital Archiving practices, that is, backup, replication or duplication, reorganizing and updating, cleaning or removing, and migration of information were found. Moreover, emotional motives, technological causes, alternative access, easy retrieval, and task completion were the reasons to adopt Personal Digital Archiving. On the basis of findings of selected studies, researchers developed a four steps model of Personal Digital Archiving process, consisting of initiation, identification, action, and evaluation constructs. Personal Digital Archiving challenges were also identified such as the individuals had to face through the use of desktop and ubiquitous devices including technical, fragmented and overloaded information, lack of training and expertise, and psychological and miscellaneous challenges. Personal Digital Archiving process model is based on the extracted data from studies published worldwide, and it is useful for both desktop and ubiquitous devices with reference to Personal Information Management context. The findings of the study will be helpful for software designers and android application developers to design and develop users’ centered Personal Information Management software.

The Internet of Things environment (e.g., smart phones, smart televisions, and smart watches) ensures that the end user experience is easy, by connecting lives on web services via the internet. Integrating Internet of Things devices poses ethical risks related to data security, privacy, reliability and management, data mining, and knowledge exchange. An adversarial machine learning attack is a good practice to adopt, to strengthen the security of text-based CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart), to withstand against malicious attacks from computer hackers, to protect Internet of Things devices and the end user’s privacy. The goal of this current study is to perform security vulnerability verification on adversarial text-based CAPTCHA, based on attacker–defender scenarios. Therefore, this study proposed computation-efficient deep learning with a mixed batch adversarial generation process model, which attempted to break the transferability attack, and mitigate the problem of catastrophic forgetting in the context of adversarial attack defense. After performing K-fold cross-validation, experimental results showed that the proposed defense model achieved mean accuracies in the range of 82–84% among three gradient-based adversarial attack datasets.

Currently, there is an increase in workforce that start new independent businesses in the creative economy, either as entrepreneurs or freelancers, this  because number of job is not comparable to the number of the workforce. The increase in workers in the creative economy is in line with the digital transformation in Indonesia. The government also responded well to this by making programs related to the creative economy, especially in the digital field. Pontianak City has the potential for development with an increase in the number of workers in the creative economy every year, but Pontianak City does not yet have space to accommodate workers' activities. Co-working space can accommodate workers in the creative economy so they can work in a productive and creative environment. In addition, the provision of supporting digital services in co-working spaces is expected to support entrepreneurs or freelancers in developing their business into the digital field. The co-working space design process uses an ecological approach. Ecological approach is an approach that is environmentally friendly. The Ecological Approach serves as a tool that are implemented towards designs that take into account the potential for the natural surroundings as well as the interrelationships between buildings, nature and people.
