One success indicator of any educational institution depends on the type of management and its capabilities to drive the preplanned goals within the framework of time set forth. The study utilized the descriptive-correlational research design which aimed to determine the work management styles of the college deans of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Region 8, Philippines. Using validated questionnaires, data were statistically treated using weighted mean, percentage and chi-square test of independence. Findings showed that female college deans who are doctorate degree holders, with higher number of years of experience and training attended were the perfectionist in managing their works. It also showed that the college deans’ profile has no significant relationship with their work management style. The college deans with the higher number of programs offered were cliff hangers. If given the opportunity to experience more and attend training on leadership and management, perceived control of time, and stress responses, the college deans can play better in their role, functions, and responsibilities. The study contributes to the field of educational administration to create useful solutions in terms of leadership and management styles of college deans for them to be aware and become more productive and efficient leaders.

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between tolerance for disagreement and conflict management styles. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant relationship between levels of tolerance for disagreement and conflict management style. Another assumption was that there would be a significant difference between tolerance for disagreement of males and females. The sample comprised of 170 employed young adults within the age range of 19 to 40 years out of which 54.71 % were males and 45.29% were females. Convenience sampling was used to obtain the data from employees that fulfilled the criteria. Responses were recorded through online form and manually on paper. Measures used to assess the participants were following: consent form, demographic form, Tolerance for disagreement Scale and Rahim’s organizational conflict inventory-II. Statistical analysis through Chi-square test of association revealed that tolerance for disagreement was significantly associated with collaborating, accommodating and avoiding style of conflict management. Independent samples t- test showed that males had a higher tolerance for disagreement than women. Implications for organizational settings have been discussed.

Based on the dynamic model of supervisory management styles this research focused on the empirical verification of the preferred supervisory management styles and their associated baseline characteristics of supervisors and supervisees. The study used a mixed-methods research approach and conducted in two phases. In the first phase, semi-structured interviews were conducted from 30 supervisors from different disciplines to get an overview of the context specific supervision problems faced by supervisors and their approaches to solve them during the different research stages. These interviews helped to develop items of supervisory management styles questionnaire (SMSQ). This questionnaire was based on 12 different situations. In the second phase, supervisors and supervisees from the 13 different universities of Punjab were selected purposively to respond the supervisory management styles questionnaire. The chi-square tests were performed to analyze the preferred supervisory management styles and their association with personal, academic and institutional characteristics of supervisors and supervisees. The results showed significant influence of the supervisees’ background profile characteristics and supervisors’ administrative position on the adoption of a particular supervisory management style at postgraduate level. The study identified the baseline characteristics associated with different supervision styles that may help to resolve possible supervisory alignment conflicts

PurposeThis study aims to develop a photo-based methodology to identify occupants' collaborative image of the energy-efficient small-size housing.Design/methodology/approachEmploying qualitative and quantitative approaches, 24 photos were randomly selected from different urban areas of Brisbane (Australia) city for an online survey. A total of 36 participants evaluated the photos 159 times.FindingsConducted content analysis resulted in the identification of 5 attribute-based factors, generated from 16 semantic categories and 74 attributes. Using a non-parametric Chi-square test, the factors were categorised in two levels, i.e. (1) envelope elements (primary and secondary) and passive climatic principles; and (2) architectural composition principles and neighbourhood quality.Social implicationsThe discussion on the results via the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) suggests that regarding the external aspects, the people's image of energy-efficient housing could be influenced by their perceived control over changeable and adjustable attributes.Originality/valueThe photo-based methodology developed by this paper has the potential to quantify occupants' collaborative image of small-size housing energy efficiency, which would be essential in assisting them to adjust their dwelling units regarding the congruity of the energy efficiency attributes with their preferences.

Breast feeding is giving milk to be drunk to the baby from the breast. Uterus involution is a process how the uterus return to the condition back, before pregnanting after bearing. At the moment of suckling, happens a stimulus and brings the hormones out, such as oksitosin uses not only to stimulate some muscles constraction but also to stimulate the uterus, so that the process of uterus involution happens foster. According to the explanations above, the research aimed to know about the correlation between breast feeding and uterus involution. This research’s design was, cross sectional by the population of all childbirth mothers approximately 50 persons / month. By using accidental sampling technique we got 21 sample respondents. The place of research in RSIA Aura Syifa in Kediri Regency on 16th until 22nd of June 2009. From this research’s result, we got 14 persons (66,67%) with normal uterus involution, suckled in a good way, one person (4,67%) with normal uterus involution, suckled in a wrong way, 2 persons (9,52%) with abnormal uterus involution, suckled in a good way and 4 persons (19,05%) with abnormal uterus involution, suckled in a wrong way. Statistic test which used chi-square test, counted the probability frequency in advance, from that we got 3 columns with the score, less than 5, so that chi-square can not be continued and by doing exact fisher test, the score was 0,001. Because P with the grade mistake 0,05 smaller, so the conclusion was “Ho” is rejected, it meant “there was correlation between suckling and uterus involution”. Key Word : Breast feeding, uterus involution
