A Landslide is the movement of soil mass or rock constituents down the slope due to disturbance of soil stability. One of the factors that affect soil stability is the rainy season as happened in Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro District, Lumajang Regency. The alternative used to stabilize the slope is by changing the slope geometry, then adding geoframe reinforcement. This study aims to determine the value of the factor of safety (SF) of unreinforced slopes, after changing the slope geometry, and after being given geoframe reinforcement. The method used in analyzing slope stability is the Ordinary/Fellenius method. The results of the calculation of slope stability without reinforcement using the Rocscience Slide software obtained a SF of 0.719, while the manual calculation obtained a SF of 0.7191. The two values of the safety factor are less than 1.25, which means that landslides often occur. The results of the calculation of slope stability after changing the geometry of the slopes obtained a SF of 0.828 where the value is less than 1.25 which means that landslides often occur. The slopes that have been changed geometry are added with geoframe reinforcement. The results of the calculation of slope stability using geoframe reinforcement obtained a SF of 1.315 where the value is more than 1.25 which means that landslides are rare or slope in a safe condition.

The drainage network system should be designed to accommodate normal flow rates, especially during the rainy season. This means that the capacity of the drainage channel has been calculated to accommodate the water discharge that occurs so that the area in question does not experience puddles or the channel can to be function properly. For this reason, research is needed to analyze the ability of the ex-coal mine drainage channel in PIT-3 West Banko Tanjung Enim. The research was carried out with the help of the HEC-RAS software program to see the changes in the water level in the drainage channel where the water was overflowing from the channel body. The results showed that all the section profiles of the drainage channel (P1) till (P10) were still in the safe condition or the channel was still stable (stable channel).

While the exteroceptive and interoceptive prediction of a negative event increases a person's anxiety in daily life situations, the relationship between the brain mechanism of anxiety and anxiety-related autonomic response have not been fully understood. In this fMRI study, we examined the neural basis of anxiety and anxiety-related autonomic responses in a daily driving situation. Participants viewed a driving video clip in the first-person perspective. In the middle of the video clip, participants were presented with a cue to indicate whether a subsequent crash could occur (attention condition) or not (safe condition). Compared with the safe condition, there were more activities in the anterior insula, bed nucleus of the stria terminalis, thalamus, and periaqueductal gray, and higher sympathetic nerve responses, such as pupil dilation and peripheral arterial stiffness in the attention condition. We also observed autonomic response-related functional connectivity in the visual cortex, cerebellum, brainstem, and MCC/PCC with the right anterior insula and its adjacent regions as seed regions. Thus, the right anterior insula and adjacent regions, collaborating with the other related regions, could play a fundamental role in eliciting anxiety based on the prediction of negative events by mediating anxiety-related autonomic responses according to interoceptive information.

Discontinuous carbon fiber-carbon matrix composites dispersed Si/SiC matrix composites have complicated microstructures that consist of four phases (C/C, Si, SiC, and C/SiC). The crack stability significantly depends on their geometrical arrangement. Nondestructive evaluation is needed to maintain the components in their safe condition. Although several nondestructive evaluation methods such as the Eddy current have been developed, any set of them is still inadequate in order to cover all of the scales and aspects that (C/C)/Si/SiC composites comprise. We propose a new method for nondestructive evaluation using vibration/resonance modes and deep learning. The assumed resolution is mm-order (approx. 1–10 mm), which laser vibrometers are generally capable of handling sufficiently. We utilize deep neural networks called convolutional auto-encoders for inferring damaged areas from vibration modes, which is a so-called inverse problem and infeasible to solve numerically in most cases. We solve this inference problem by training convolutional auto-encoders using vibration modes obtained from a non-damaged specimen with various frequencies as the dataset. Experimental results show that the proposed method successfully detects the damaged areas of validation specimens. One of the noteworthy points of this method is that we need only a few specimens for training deep neural networks, which generally require a large amount of data.

Banker's algorithm is an algorithm that models a bank in a small town dealing with a set of customers. This banker algorithm is used to deal with queuing problems in banking. In this case, one of them is how to simulate queues in banking. In this study, the design and manufacture of simulation software is used to help simulate whether a system is in a safe state or an unsafe state, in a safe condition the process is continued but if the process is unsafe the process is delayed until the system is in a safe state. The result of this research is a banker algorithm simulation software that models a banker who is dealing with a group of customers in a bank.

The current digitization of industrial processes is leading to the development of smart machines and smart applications in the field of engineering technologies. The basis is an advanced sensor system that monitors selected characteristic values of the machine. The obtained data need to be further analysed, correctly interpreted, and visualized by the machine operator. Thus the machine operator can gain a sixth sense for keeping the machine and the production process in a suitable condition. This has a positive effect on reducing the stress load on the operator in the production of expensive components and in monitoring the safe condition of the machine. The key element here is the use of a suitable classification model for data evaluation of the monitored machine parameters. The article deals with the comparison of the success rate of classification models from the MATLAB Classification Learner App. Classification models will compare data from the frequency and time domain, the data source is the same. Both data samples are from real measurements on the CNC vertical machining center (CNC-Computer Numerical Control). Three basic states representing machine tool damage are recognized. The data are then processed and reduced for the use of the MATLAB Classification Learner app, which creates a model for recognizing faults. The article aims to compare the success rate of classification models when the data source is a dataset in time or frequency domain and combination.

Safety status of artificial slopes is significant for the operation and maintenance of highway to mitigate the risk; thus, slope hazard identification is necessary. In order to realize large-area and low-cost application for regional highway, taking the Longqing Highway (length of 55 km) as a case study, the SBAS-InSAR (Small Baseline Subset-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar) technique is adopted to detect the ground deformation and conduct hazard identification based on slope dip, aspect, geological data and historical hazard record. Field survey is carried out to verify the identified potential hazards. Results show that the detected potential hazards are distributed mainly in the areas consisting of granite residual and the Quaternary soil. Six potential hazards identified by the SBAS-InSAR-based method are roughly in accordance with the on-site verification. It is suggested that the SBAS-InSAR technique has the ability to obtain the slope deformation accurately and reveal the safe condition of the slopes. The SBAS-InSAR technique can be suitable for assistance in regional highway slope inspection.

The land collapsed on Jl. Sultan Agung, Jompo, Jember Regency was reported. A team from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) found cracks in the ground under a shop since February 2019. This incident resulted in a landslide of a road with approximately 45 meters long and 10 meters wide that it blocked the river flow, and nine shophouses, which are the assets of the Jember Regency government, collapsed as deep as approximately 4 meters. The cantilever type retaining wall is designed in the landslide area as an effort to revitalize the banks of Jompo river on Jalan Sultan Agung. Cantilever wall design stability refers to SNI 8460: 2017 and was assisted by using the GEO 5 program. The stability of cantilever walls against overturning shows a safety factor value of 3.72 that greater than 2 (safe condition), whereas the stability of cantilever walls against sliding was 1.61 that greater than 1.5 (safe condition), and the stability of the bearing capacity was 8.18 that greater than 3 (safe condition). Cantilever wall structure using concrete quality (Fc ') 40 MPa, and reinforcement quality (Fy) 420 Mpa, with a diameter and a distance of 25 mm and 125 mm respectively. Additional reinforcement was given to the Cantilever Wall, i.e. a bore-pile with a diameter of 60 cm which was fixed to a depth of 6 meters.

The Ferry Ro-Ro 5000GT has three levels of car deck that are connected by internal ramps. Two issues that have to be paid attention during the operation of the internal ramp there are the strength capacity and the design fatigue life of the internal ramp structure. The purpose of the research is to determine the strength and fatigue life of the internal ramp construction. The method used the Finite Element Method using a static load by load case of point load at top girder and between girders. Results of the research detected the maximum stress value is in the load case of the point load (three sedan car) at between of the girder is 52.143 MPa with the fatigue life is 44.47 years with the load cycle is 7300000 cycle while the minimum stress value detected at the load case of the point load (two sedan cars) at top girder is 34.199 MPa with the fatigue life is 195.92 years with the load cycle is 50000000 cycle. For the safety factor, ramp construction 6.08 ~ 10.38. The safety factor value above is still in safe condition because the value is SF > 1.
