Age-associated changes in human hematopoiesis have been mostly recapitulated in mouse models; but not much has been explored in rats, a physiologically closer model to humans. To establish whether rat hematopoiesis closely mirrors humans’, we examined the peripheral blood of rats throughout their lifespan. Significant age-associated changes showed distinctive population shifts predictive of age. A divergence between predicted versus chronological age changes was indicative of fragility; thus, these data may be a valuable tool to identify underlying diseases or as a surrogate predictor for intervention efficacy. Notably, several blood parameters and DNA methylation alterations defined specific leverage points during aging, supporting non-linear aging effects and highlighting a roadmap for interventions at these junctures. Overall, we present a simple set of rat blood metrics that can provide a window into their health and inform the implementation of interventions in a model system physiologically relevant for humans.

Abstract Aging is associated with an increased risk of COVID-19 morbidity and mortality. In this study, we tested whether the pandemic influenced how old individuals felt by examining longitudinal within-person changes in subjective age. We tested two alternative hypotheses: (a) people felt increasingly older in response to the stress generated by COVID-19; (b) people felt increasingly younger due to psychological distancing from older age. We tested these hypotheses in a large US sample of adults assessed once before and twice during the COVID-19 pandemic. Multilevel analyses indicated that people reported feeling younger with the emergence of COVID-19. We further tested demographic, health, and psychosocial predictors of changes in subjective age. Overall, the findings supported the hypothesis that subjective age partly reflects a coping process of psychological distancing from older age, a process that parallels physical and social distancing.

In connection with the increase in the average age of the world's population, the problem of preventing premature aging and the treatment of age-related diseases is coming to the fore. The main direction in the implementation of this goal is to influence the key molecular mechanisms of aging in order to suppress pathological processes and activate the defense systems of the cell and the body as a whole. In order to solve this daunting task, it is necessary to have in the arsenal not only various means of intervention in the aging process, but also diagnostic methods that would allow to fully verify these processes and evaluate the effectiveness of medical interventions.

The article presents analysis of the results of the original histochemical studies of tigroid substance of neurons of the lateral preoptic nucleus of  hypothalamus in mature and old rats under the influence of different light modes. In all observations, the tigroid substance was located in the cytoplasm of neurons of the lateral preoptic nucleus of hypothalamus in the form of individual granular formations of different sizes and shapes. The amount of tigroid substance of neurons of the lateral preoptic nucleus of hypothalamus in mature rats is greater than in older rats. At the same time, it should be noted that different experimental conditions significantly affected the amount of tigroid substance in neurons of the lateral preoptic nucleus of hypothalamus in old rats. In particular, under conditions of light deprivation, the optical density of specific histochemical staining for tigroid substance in neurons of the lateral preoptic nucleus of hypothalamus increased significantly (p<0,001), and under conditions of light stimulation, on the contrary, probably decreased (p<0,001).

Lower face age changes are hugely impactful on the overall ageing concerns presented by patients, and lower face-lifting treatments form an integral part of the rejuvenation and beautification of the face, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. It is essential that the clinician possesses a deeper understanding of facial anatomy in this region, to allow a more holistic, rather than isolated, approach to rejuvenation and reduce complication risks and downtime. A combination of dermal filler and neuromodulators can be used in the lower face to produce effective, long-lasting and natural facial rejuvenation results.

Background: Orthodontics treatment aimed to make patient satisfied about treatment result starting from appearance to the function. Orthodontic retention is consider as important stage to stabilize the result of orthodontic treatment and avoid relapse that caused by normal age changes. Methods: A cross-sectional study performed through patient questionnaires. A total of 450 patients were included in the study. The questionnaire included 19 questions. The questionnaire consisted of question about socio-demographic status of the respondents such as age, gender, also included question about the type of retainer fixed or removable retainers that were used, duration of wearing retainer and Retention protocol. Result: In our study majority of the participants were females (87.3%), and 55.3% belonged to the 20-25 years age group. The fixed orthodontic related history showed 59.8% had undergone the treatment for 1 to 3 years and 31.6% of the participants reported that they had removed the fixed braces for more than five years. Among these participants, 89.5% (n=34) reported that the fascia (space) closed between the upper frontal teeth after Frenectomy, and 65.8% (n=25) agreed that spaced between the two upper front teeth still closed after removing the retainer. Conclusion: The study findings showed that the majority of the participants were aware of the frequency and duration of wearing retainers but didn't completely adhere to the instructions given by the orthodontists and/or dentists. The major reason for not using retainers was difficulty in speaking or uncomfortableness.

Abstract. We assess the methodology of the so-called 14C plateau tuning (PT) technique used to date marine sediment records and determine 14C marine reservoir ages (MRAs) as recently reviewed by Sarnthein et al. (2020). The main identified problems are linked to the assumption of constant MRA during 14C age plateaus; the lack of consideration of foraminifera abundance changes coupled to bioturbation that can create spurious plateaus in marine sediments; the assumption that plateaus have the same shapes and durations in atmospheric and oceanic records; the implication that atmospheric 14C / 12C peaked instantaneously from one plateau to the next; that the 14C plateaus represent 82 % of the total time spent between 14 000 and 29 000 cal yr BP, whereas during the remaining 18 % of the time, the radiocarbon clock was running almost 5 times faster than the radioactive decay; that the sparsity, combined with the level of analytical uncertainties and additional noise, in both atmospheric and marine data do not currently allow one to reliably or robustly identify plateaus (should they exist) beyond 15 000 cal yr BP; and that the determination and identification of plateaus in the deep-sea cores is reliant upon significant changes in sedimentation rate within those marine sediments which are, a priori, unknown and are not verified with an independent method. The concerns we raise are supported and strengthened with carbon cycle box model experiments and statistical simulations of pseudo-atmospheric and pseudo-marine records, allowing us to question the ability to identify and tune 14C age plateaus in the context of noisy and sparse data.

ABSTRACT The triple threat is a challenge that must be faced in Indonesia. More and more the number of elderly continues to increase. As you age, changes occur due to the aging process that causes physical and psychosocial problems. one of the psychosocial problems in the elderly is low self-esteem. If that doesn't work, the elderly will repair, attract, challenge, and even escape. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the health of the elderly at an optimal level of health. The goal is to increase the ability of the elderly in the contexts of psychological loss, behavior, and optimal adaptation. Activity methods of doing healthy gymnastics and group activity therapy. The results of the activity showed that overall the elderly looked bright and happy.  This activity can increase enthusiasm and create togetherness among the elderly in a nursing home.  Keywords: Group activity therapy, healthy gymnastics, dementia, elderly.

Questions are raised directly related to the problem of the „unified pedagogical system kindergarten – primary school“. The answers were sought in the specifics of preschool age, the unevenness of child development, the saturation with sensitive periods in cognitive development and periodic time changes, with psychosocial crises and age changes. In fact, the use of aspects and fragments in considering a conceptual concept as readiness shows our desire for precision in terms of socio-emotional, aesthetic-artistic, motivational and linguistic readiness for school. If 50 years ago a number of questions were asked related to the education of 6-7 year old children in the direction of the parameters of school maturity, general and special preparation for school, diagnostics and prognosis of school readiness; motivation, socialization and adaptation of children in school, now, in the age of the information society, these problems, in our opinion, expect adequate scientific and practical solutions. Therefore, the report proves that rapid social change sometimes precedes scientific responses to pedagogical practice and in this changed social, social and psychological context, all three actors in the education system: teachers, parents and children, have different attitudes, expectations and opportunities for reactions.
