In order to improve the accuracy of damage source identification in concrete based on acoustic emission testing (AE) and neural networks, and locating and repairing the damage in a practical roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam, a multilevel AE processing platform based on wavelet energy spectrum analysis, principal component analysis (PCA), and a neural network is proposed. Two data sets of 15 basic AE parameters and 23 AE parameters added on the basis of the 15 basic AE parameters were selected as the input vectors of a basic parameter neural network and a wavelet neural network, respectively. Taking the measured tensile data of an RCC prism sample as an example, the results show that compared with the basic parameter neural network, the wavelet neural network achieves a higher accuracy and faster damage source identification, with an average recognition rate of 8.2% and training speed of about 33%.

The aim of this study was to assess acoustically selected sacred buildings located in Szczecin. The research part contains the research methodology and the results obtained. The research was carried out using two methods. The first one is the integrated impulse response method, where, using a bursting balloon, the time of sound pressure drop was measured at selected points of the object. In the interrupted noise method, the sound pressure drop was measured after the noise generated by the omnidirectional loudspeaker had ceased. Reverberation time was calculated for the results obtained, which is the main and basic parameter determining the interior acoustics. On the basis of the above-mentioned measurements, the reverberation indicators for the temples were also calculated. When analyzing the components of the reverberation indicator, it was noticed that poor acoustics in the sanctuary concerns speech, while interior acoustics is good for the reception of organ music. In the analyzed church, the reception of liturgical music is also better than the reception of speech, but the differences between these values are small.

The subject of the article is the structure and linguistic shape of a specific type of legal genre – the reasons for the judgement. The authors, as members of the project and training team, actively participate in the transformation of the communication standards for the Polish judiciary community. They work with the assumption that the long-standing tradition of legal communication is hermetic and results in texts which are uncommunicative and unintelligible to an average reader. In the article, the authors present the social, media, linguistic and communication contexts of such texts. They emphasise their retropical character and indicate the possible direction of changes towards less hermetic and more everyday communication experiences, closer to the average reader. In the conclusion, they underline the importance of the intelligibility of a text as the basic parameter of effective communication and advocate for a systemic change of contemporary legal communication. Based on the texts of reasons for the judgement, they show that such a change is possible as long as it is accepted by the judiciary community in the first place.

The paper discusses the concept of the safety function for the machine control circuit, which is one of the basic concepts that allow to design machines in accordance with the safety requirements. The basics of the architecture of systems implementing safety functions in machines were also discussed. Using the example of the fundamental emergency stop circuit, the basics of the reliability parameters for electromechanical components are explained. The concept of forced contact guidance is also explained. The basic formulas are given and the basis for further clarification of the performance level (PL) is prepared.

The object of this research is the city viewed as a multilayered semantic phenomenon. The needs of transdisciplinary nature determine the vector of its analysis in light of the possibility of application of diagnostic approach, which incorporates the theoretical and practical aspects, cognitive and transformative sides. The goal consists in the development of diagnostic model of the city as a cultural phenomenon. The position is defended on the limitation of classical diagnostic search applicable to the so-called city. The prospects of its research correlate with the nonclassical interpretation of diagnostics, which views it as methodology of cognition. The basic method of this research is modelling. The development of diagnostic model of the city is founded on M. M. Bakhtin’s concept of chronotope. Namely chronotope is determines as the basic parameter underlying its construct. Incorporating the spatiotemporal parameters of the city and their cultural meanings, it allows recording the temporal-topos configurations in city motion, which reflect various qualitative states of its existence, set by the past, present and future. The author offers a ternary model of the city, consisting of historical-cultural, eventful, and innovative chronotopes. The formulated conclusions indicate that the proposed chronotopes can be viewed separately or following the principle of complementarity, which allows assessing the city from the perspective effective arrangement of urban space, as well as the presence of problematic fields therein.

The investigation results of orbital smoothing basic parameter impact upon deviations from roundness in strengthened cylindrical surfaces are shown. It is defined that after orbital smoothing a deviation from roundness decreases by two to three times, which has a positive impact upon shape precision increase in strengthened parts.

Рассмотрен вопрос о вариантах контроля формирования точности локальной системы навигации (ЛСН) с использованием ее базового параметра - момента приема рабочего сигнала в ЛСН. Приведены результаты измерения инструментальной временной погрешности разрабатываемой локальной системы навигации. The paper considers the question of control options for the formation of the accuracy of the local navigation system (LSN), using its basic parameter - the time of reception of the working signal in the LSN. The results of measuring the instrumental time error of the developed local navigation system have been presented.

Reuse is the elementary and essential attribute of the component-based software engineering. Reusability focuses on building huge and complex software through assembling pre-fabricated software constructs. In this paper, our emphasis is on to analyze and quantify the two core notions of component-based software, that is, reusability and interaction behavior of the components with the goal of minimum complexity generation. We analyse prominent works available in the literature in the area of reuse and interaction complexities. We Analyze and Estimate reusability complexities of components in Component-Based Software Engineering and we propose efficient and useful metrics to compute the reusability of components. Reusability metrics are defined for individual components as well as overall system level. Different types of components are defined on the basis of their reusability, that is, components that can be reused as it as, and tailored components. To define the metrics we have used lines-of-code as the basic parameter due to its simplicity and countability. We proposed a matrics which select the best component on the basis LOC based complexity.We compare IRMCcTotal-i matrics with SCCp metrics and SCCr metrics and analyses that negative relationship between SCCp and IRMCcTotal-i shows low portability and positive relationship between SCCr and IRMCcTotal-i shows high portability.

Abstract Basic parameter characterizing the body's workload (in particular physical work) is the energy expenditure, which determines the amount of energy used to perform a specific job (in kcal or kJ). The purpose of this work was to determine the energy expenditure at the station of a water-cutting machine using the tabular-timing method according to G. Lehmann. As part of the author's own research, the position of the waterjet operator was described, taking into account the basic hazards present in the work environment and the requirements regarding occupational health and safety. The paper also presents the results of the energy expenditure assessment and their analysis, which allowed to propose corrective and preventive actions.
