The presente article consists on a study developed with the objective of analyzing the succession of the partner and verifying if that Extraordinary Appeal 878.694 / MG fully equated the regime of succession of marriage and stable union. The Supreme Federal Court in the judgment of the referred appeal determined, not unanimously, the unconstitutionality of article 1790 of the Civil Code that regulates the right of succession of the partner and established the application of article 1829 of the Civil Code in its place, that originally only regulated marriage. This work defined the succession of the partner in the legitimate succession by law and in the Extraordinary Appeal, analyzing legitimate, testamentary succession, litigious and friendly sharing, the similarities and differences of articles 1790 and 1829 of the Civil Code. It will be demonstrated that the Supreme Court's decision did not pacify all issues related to the partner's right of succession.

This article is based at the diagnosis of pyogenic granuloma, which is characterized as a benign simple hyperplastic tumor and has an inflammatory reactive component that increases in size as a connective tissue reaction, forming a repair tissue as a protective mechanism. Clinically, pyogenic granuloma is seen as a red or purplish lesion (similar to the adjacent mucosa), too vascular, with a sessile or pedunculated base, with slow growth, reaching a size that rarely exceeds 2,5 cm, the surface of which can be rough or smooth. It occurs more frequently in adulthood, with a predominance in females (mainly during pregnancy), between the second and seventh life's decades. This aim of this paper is to report a case of pyogenic granuloma on the upper lip of a patient at the FAESA's Dental Clinic.

Cancer is a genetic disease, and one of the main public health problems. Cancer treatments (chemotherapy and radiotherapy) have some side effects, such as mucositis, which is the inflammation of the oral mucosa, and which generates a series of discomforts, sometimes milder, sometimes more severe. One of the treatments indicated for mucositis is low-level laser therapy, which acts to reduce symptoms. The purpose of this article is to describe four protocols of laser therapy, which were applied at Hospital Santa Rita de Cássia — Vitória, and also to discuss the results that were satisfactory.

This study aims to analyze the understanding of the curriculum in a post-critical perspective by students of the Elementary School of the Municipality of Vitória-ES, emphasizing the challenge of the school, in its constitution process in relation to the social construction and valorization of culture, capable of guide pedagogical practices to recognize the differences present in the school context. It was intended, by means of an exploratory study with a qualitative approach, to discuss thematic content of the post-critical curriculum, using focus groups data collection and analysis of official school documents. We conclude that the reproduction of differences happens implicitly, distancing what is proposed in school documents and what is performed inside the classrooms by teachers.

In view of the increase in population and the need for housing, natural and / or preservation areas are being replaced by large cities. It was analyzed about the suppression of natural environments, such as the loss of a parcel of mangrove that occurred to originate the Maria Ortiz neighborhood — Vitória / ES. In order to observe and quantify such losses, verify if such action continues to happen and the scenario of the time for the population to accomplish this feat. Therefore, it was necessary to survey historical data from the region under study and documentary research in georeferenced images from different decades for comparison purposes. Then, a case study was carried out based on the content of the materials obtained. In view of this, it appears that when comparing the images, a very significant loss of mangrove area over the decades and an accelerated evolution of the Maria Ortiz neighborhood regarding urban expansion, thus realizing that the neighborhood emerged from the extinction of a parcel area protected by law.

The present work aimed at researching, sizing and monitoring of FAESA's electric vehicle prototype propulsion system, with the aid of sensors and a low-cost microcontroller. The prototype was incomplete and required electrical resizing and mechanical adjustments. From an Arduino it was possible to perform both the motor activation and measurement of the current and speed sensors.

The macro sector of the civil construction industry is a major consumer of natural resources and it generates impacts, identified as social, environmental or economic, and it is necessary to develop studies that aim to rationalize this raw materials consumption and reduce the impacts generated. Since some resources used in the sector are finite, this work’s main objective is to make the concrete more ecological by replacing part of the fine aggregate of its composition for granulated slag from the blast furnace, reducing the need for sand extraction. For this study, tests were carried out with the co-product and with the fine aggregate, evaluating the properties of the concrete in the fresh and hardened states in three mixture types, the first being a reference, the second with 30% replacement and the third with 60% replacement of fine aggregate with slag. Based on the results obtained, it is noted that the granulated blast furnace slag has more similar characteristics to the sand’s; in the fresh state, the concrete showed a similar result in the three mix types; in the hardened state, it was observed that the performance of the concrete in axial compression was satisfactory; while in flexion traction the two proposed mixtures with substitution presented an unsatisfactory result.

This article reports the production process, realization and result of the documentary “O que é, o que é?”, about Orfanato Cristo Rei’s history and the role it plays in society. Located in Cariacica-ES, it marked the lives of several children when it was an orphanage and today it works as a non-governmental organization that survives only on donations. Currently, the social work serves children in danger who live at the mercy of violence by their own family or the region they live in. The methodologies used to produce the documentary were bibliographic and field research, and semi-structured interviews — they helped with obtaining information and in the recording of the interviews. “O que é, o que é?” contributes to the memory’s rescue and preservation, and allows reflection on the risky situation of many children in society, encouraging viewers to have a new perception on the social vulnerability of children that live in Cariacica and the importance of welcoming and educative social works.

Ecological corridors are territorial strips that aim to reduce the impacts of fragmentation of ecosystems, restoring the interconnection between them, in order to facilitate the movement of species, enabling seed dispersal and gene exchange between isolated populations. The relevance of the theme lies in the contribution to sustainable urbanism, aligning with biophilia, with benefits for living beings, including humans, with better walking conditions, thermal and psychological comfort. The general objective of the work was to delineate an urban ecological corridor in the continental portion of the city of Vitória/ES, in order to connect three isolated Environmental Protection Zones and benefit their essential occupants: the human species, the flora and the fauna. Exploratory studies and field visits were conducted, supported by Urbanism and Ecology literature, based on the definition of the connection axes and the recomposition of road profiles. The result achieved is an ecological corridor adapted to the existing roads, from the intensification of forestation and the implementation of gantries and elevated walkways for animal crossings. The insertion of aerial crossings and biodiversity corridors will bring a differential to the quality of life and ecological diversity for the local population.

The observation of the data of religious intolerance in Brazil against Afro-Brazilian religions generates curiosity about the reasons why this occurs. Inserting Criminal Law as a matter of analysis, the crime of african traditional medicine provided for in Article 284 of the Penal Code might be assessed as a possible reflection of religious racism within the legal system. Whereas, in order to classify the aforementioned crime, the protected legal good is public security, the concept of health privileged by the ordering system will stand out, in contrast to those adopted by african cults. By demonizing these religions, the practice of healing is criminalized, but also a determined way of existing, being and remaining in this the world. The main objective of the research is, therefore, to verify if the typification of the healing crime contributes to the demonization of African-based religions. For that, the bibliographic research technique and the deductive method will be used. In conclusion, it was demonstrated that the law functions as an instrument to maintain the interests of a certain racial group. With the work of political and legal forces legitimizing ethnocentrism and the persecution of AfroBrazilian religions, the typification of the crime of africn traditional medicine silences beliefs of African matrices, contributing to the increase of religious intolerance against them and perpetuating structural racism in the Brazilian legal system.
