Research results of modified composites which consist of isolated layers with different properties and their practical usages are represented in this article. A structure of the composite material is considered. The structure is combined of few layers; external layers are made of corrosive resistance material with dielectric behavior while the internal part of the composite is made of electrically conductive material with high conductive and mechanical properties. Conductive properties of each layer have been measured as well as their mechanical properties and structure. Also, the features of the joints between layers in terms of structure and properties were defined. More than that, varieties of mixtures and their possible usage are considered. Conductive properties of composite materials and ways of their adjustment have been described as well. For the first time, the measuring scheme of conductive properties for each layer was offered and heat shrinkable tubes and copper electrodes were used for it. Efficiency of modified composites and its behavior when electrical current applied can be measured by using the scheme.

The article stresses the significance of small and medium business to the development of economy and strengthening of social bases of public life. Special consideration is given to the methods of direct and indirect credit support of small and medium business, provided by the banking sector and governmental institutions. The analysis of development of small and medium business in Russian demonstrated the absence of expected positive dynamics. The paper emphasizes the necessity of changes in the principles of participation of the banking system in crediting of small and medium business. It is reasonable to improve efficiency of the process by simplification of the customer crediting procedure.

This scoping review examines the conceptual relationship between the terms “environmental sustainability” and “quality of care” as used in academic studies on health care. We performed searches in Scopus and PubMed looking for potential semantic and practical associations between sustainability and quality of care, including potential conflicts. For the first part about associations, 11 search strings were used resulting in 1,488 studies of which 8 were eventually selected for analysis. For the latter part about conflicts, 4 search strings were used resulting in 45 studies of which 6 remained for analysis. Information about the following aspects was extracted from the studies that were included: interpretation and definition of sustainability, dimensions of quality of care, and tensions between quality and sustainability. Merely a few studies address a relationship betweenenvironmental sustainability and quality of care. Only “patient-centredness” and “safety” are associated with sustainability in academic literature. “Effectiveness” is rather interpreted as opposing it. “Efficiency” seems to be both associated and opposed to sustainability. The conceptual relationship between environmental sustainability and quality of care has not been thouroughly examined in academic studies which implies a blind spot in our knowledge. Only one study reports on conceptual and practical work for incorporating sustainability as a dimension of health care quality.

The biometrics is now a days trending security method used in the industries. The face recognition is one way of applying biometrics, and liveness detection is add on security to the system which will help the security system to identify between the fake and the real identities. In this case the fake identities are photographs as printed media. And mobile or tablet as display devices. The entire system is developed on the raspberry pi board because of it efficiency with powerful architecture and theportability.

The organization is a complex unit that seeks to allocate resources fully for the achievement of objectives. Both the resources relating to facilities and infrastructure as well as human resources. If an organization is able to achieve its stated goals, it can be said that the organization is effective. One of the goals of the organization is to achieve employee effectiveness and efficiency.                                                                                                            Every organization needs to pay attention to the issue of work effectiveness where work effectiveness is the ability of employees to carry out work to bring the results that have been determined previously. For the Director, effectiveness is the key to organizational success. Effectiveness is not just doing the job right but how to focus resources and efforts for it. Efficiency is the use of minimum resources to achieve optimum results. Efficiency assumes that the correct goals have been determined and tries to find the best ways to achieve these goals. Efficiency can only be evaluated by relative judgments, comparing input and output received. An organization, both government and private organizations formed to achieve goals, needs factors that can be in the form of human resources, materials and tools to support activities. Of these three factors, human factors are the most dominant factors. In the effort to achieve organizational goals, humans are very important factors. Because humans are the main actors of the organization, it needs special attention compared to others. As the most important factor, people with the ability to carry out their duties will influence the success or failure of the organization in achieving its objectives.

Purpose Banking institutions have vigorously pursued the integration of information and communication technology in modern banking services. Unfortunately, empirical support demonstrating the usefulness of this undertaking has largely been scanty. The purpose of this paper is to investigate causal links between the efficiency of information technology (IT) applications and bank performance using data envelopment analysis. Design/methodology/approach The study adopts the DEA approach to evaluate the bank level cost and IT efficiency. The Vector Error Correction Model Granger causality tests with the forecast error variance decomposition and impulse response functions were subsequently used to examine the causal relationship between the variables. Findings From the findings, the bank achieved an average level of 99.1 per cent cost efficiency for the sampled period. Also the periods where the bank obtained optimal cost efficiency were in 2005, 2006 and 2014. This culminated into inefficiency scores ranging from 0 to 2.9 per cent, with 2016 financial year as the period of worst cost performance. In addition, the study found that there are both short-run and long-run relationships between IT efficiency and cost performance. Practical implications Management should note that any improvement to IT applications may contribute significantly to overall IT performance but for the short period, specifically the first period, by the medium to long-run period, most improvement to overall IT performance emanates from cost performance of the bank. Originality/value Some studies have examined the effect of IT on banks in USA and Europe. However, such studies are rare in the African context. This study will contribute to extant literature by add a new dimension of IT and bank efficiency.

Diabetes mellitus is considered a public health issue worldwide, with a high prevalence. It is a direct cause of death, disability, and high health costs. In addition, it generates a series of complications of variable types and degrees that have frequent negative effects on the quality of life of the people who suffer from it. Efficiency in public health implies a reduction in costs and improvements in citizens’ quality of life. With the twofold aim of rationalizing costs and promoting an improvement in the care of people with diabetes, we propose a project: a Diabetes Day Hospital (DDH) in Extremadura (Spain). This involves a new organizational model which has already been implemented in other European regions, generating satisfactory results. This study includes details on the structure and operation of the DDH, as well as the expected costs. The DDH allows for a proper coordination among the parties involved in the monitoring and treatment of the disease, and reduces the costs derived from unnecessary admissions and chronic complications. Results show that efficiency in the regional health system could be improved and a significant amount of money could be saved.
