Community colleges actively engage in a broad array of pre- and in-employment workforce development programs. These programs have typically been categorized as credit or non-credit bearing, but this classification is problematic and does not account for the complexity of the type, size, or motivation for offering the program. This discussion categorizes workforce development programs based on their funding source, including federal, state, industry/private, institutional, and user based programs. This type of classification allows for a better understanding of who is being served by programs, how they might be used in the future, and ultimately, provides some foundation for program assessment.

Abstract. Introduction. The article is devoted to the problems of ensuring the appropriate level of state support for the agricultural sector in the context of strengthening its economic security. The purpose of the article is to reveal the organizational principles of state support for the agricultural sector, analysis of its effectiveness. Results. The importance of ensuring the appropriate level of state support for the agricultural sector in terms of strengthening and economic security further development has been substantiated. The forms of state support for the agricultural sector have been considered in the article. The programs with the help of which the state support for the agricultural sector is carried out today have been analyzed. The dynamics of state funding of individual programs to support domestic farmers has been studied. The period 2010-2019 there was a constant underfunding of the planned amounts of state support for the agricultural sector. The negative dynamics of activity indicators of the agricultural sector enterprises since 2015 has been revealed, which was caused by the imperfect mechanism of state industry support. The results of the program implementation of financial support of agricultural producers in partial compensation of machinery and equipment cost of domestic production have been studied, as well as the analysis of the programs of cheaper loans in the agricultural sector of Ukraine. Conclusions. It has substantiated that one of the main tasks for today is to develop a normative document that will determine the key aspects for further strengthening the economic security of the agricultural sector and will be a part of Ukraine's agricultural policy. Thus, the development of the Strategy for the economic security development of the agricultural sector will determine the main directions for further industry development and create an effective mechanism for managing the economic security of the agricultural sector. One of the key areas of strategy implementation should be: ensuring sufficient state support for the agricultural sector, its permanent implementation and affordable conditions, further expansion of state support, as well as increasing its volume to the necessary limits; as well as the formation of financial and credit support for the agricultural sector development on an institutional basis.

AbstractPredictive interventions and practices are becoming a defining feature of medicine. The author points out that according to the inner logic and external supporters (i.e., state, industry, and media) of modern medicine, participating in healthcare increasingly means participating in knowing, sharing, and using of predictive information. At the same time, the author addresses the issue that predictive information may also have problematic side effects like overdiagnosis, health-related anxiety, and worry as well as impacts on personal life plans. The question is raised: Should we resort to stigmatization if doing so would increase participation in predictive interventions, and thereby save healthcare costs and reduce morbidity and premature death? The paper concludes that even if such a strategy cannot be ruled out in some forms and contexts, we ought to be very cautious about the dangers of shame and stigmatization.

In Ukraine, as well as throughout the world, oral diseases remain an urgent medical and social problem. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the incidence of dental caries, periodontal disease, and oral cancer exceeds the same in the country, which made this study relevant. The purpose of the study was to identify risk factors for oral diseases in the population of Ivano-Frankivsk region and to supplement the information support of local authorities of territorial communities with the results of the study. Material and methods. We analyzed scientific sources (16 units), data from state, industry and regional statistics (13 units) in our study. The following methods were used: system approach and system analysis; generalizations; medical and statistical; graphics. Results and discussion. The obtained results showed that the living conditions of the population of the Ivano-Frankivsk region in 2018 were better than the average for Ukraine: household incomes for a month were by UAH 469.45 (4.96%) higher, non-monetary incomes in cash equivalent were by UAH 850.24 (98.2%) higher, which was favorable for maintaining oral health. However, in terms of education, the population of the region was generally inferior to the population of Ukraine (17.8% of people with higher education, 1.7% with basic higher education, 15.2% with incomplete higher education with corresponding indicators for the country 27%, 1.4% and 21%); the proportion of households that had access to Internet services at home was 53.0% in the region, 61.5% in Ukraine, which created risks to support the sanitary and hygienic literacy of the region's residents. The population of the region actively practiced behavioral risks in relation to oral diseases: the incidence rate of mental disorders and behavior due to alcohol consumption (83.87 per 100 thousand of population) exceeded the corresponding indicators in the industry (64.81 per 100 thousand of population), as well as the prevalence of these disorders (1574.88 and 1080.51 per 100 thousand of population, respectively); the intensity of smoking (51.9% of smokers smoked 11-20 cigarettes per day) exceeded the corresponding data for Ukraine (46%); household expenses for sweets were higher by 26.0% of similar expenses in Ukraine. Drinking water in the region has a fluoride deficiency (0-0.3 mg / l), which is one of the leading causes of tooth decay. In 17.9% of cases, household members of the region with dental care needs could not meet them due to the high cost of services. Conclusion. The risk factors for oral diseases of the population of the Ivano-Frankivsk region were identified: fluoride deficiency in drinking water, behavioral risks, and low level of affordability of dental care for the population. The obtained data can be taken into account when developing a regional program for the prevention of oral diseases and improving the organization of dental care for the population

In this chapter I conduct a regional tour of Southeast Asian game studios. Nations like Thailand have adopted primarily an outsourcing approach to game development, in the hopes of building up skillsets that could later be applied to locally developed games. Other developers located in Malaysia have focused on developing educational games, relying on a Tiger economic formula of cooperative state, industry, and educational alliances. Paradoxically, nations that are relatively more impoverished like Indonesia and Cambodia have developed original games drawn from their own local cultural fabric. Intended as a potential source of South to South game innovation. this chapter also investigates when developers opt to globalize for publics abroad, and when they design for more local players.

The UK funeral industry is a frequently overlooked sector within critical policy discussions of State practice and welfare provision. In this article, we propose three ‘ideal types’ for making sense of State-Industry interactions: Explicit State Provision; Public-Private Legislation; and Corporate Capital. Situating these ideal types against the backdrop of austerity, we highlight three respective examples from the industry to evidence different roles performed by Funeral Directors (FDs), including: negotiations with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP); HM Coroner contract tendering; and larger scale processes of capital accumulation through the industry’s biggest provider, Dignity plc. Our analysis reveals that the funeral industry represents a nebulous political and moral economy whose local practices differ markedly, evidencing critical insights into the workings, both present and ‘absent’, of the neoliberal State.

The article examines aspects of the implementation of the Russian economy scientific and technological potential from a systematic point of view. The authors proceed from the hypothesis that the low competitiveness of the Russian economy is determined by the profile of its innovation system. The article examines the dynamics of innovation activity costs and analyzes the reasons for the continuing decline in innovation activity that characterizes the current economic situation in Russia. Economic activity at each level will only be a determinant of the innovation development mechanism when it is aimed at creating and implementing new developments in order to generate higher revenues than those that provided the innovation development. It is pointed out that economic policy focused on building national competitive advantages is inseparable from creating a national innovation system. Ways of influence of innovative activity on the solution of social and economic problems are given. The author substantiates the socio-economic conditions necessary for the innovative development of regions. The importance of exports and the development of the enterprise's export potential for the transition to the phase of active structural transformations is evaluated. It is concluded that the formation of the national innovation system requires a balance of scientific and technical potential built into the framework of the state – industry – region – enterprise.
