Relevance is the basic value of any training project, in the cutting-cross of knowledge, attitudes, and competencies to be transmitted through the pedagogical process. Trends in science and the new directions of global health research requires personnel with vision, maturity, and skills for strategic planning. We are looking at a deepening gap between the professional status quo and the aspirations of society. This chapter aims to reflect on the role of the university focusing on the pillars that support it, in the context of training health professionals, and the central role of communication in the exercise of the profession and in health promotion. The approach is based on a theoretical review and the case study of Cabo Verde, as a SIDS. The role played by these professionals would have a direct impact on the definition of public health policies. These would be based on knowledge; the interface of innovation in health, management, and social organization; and on dialogue to improve systems from the perspectives of One Health and Global Health.

—Big Data and Cloud Computing are two of the most important technologies of the day. Since data is being generated exponentially every day, Big Data has gained a lot of significance in any technology. The daily explosion of data means that it’s better to have big data included in the applications. Whereas cloud computing is allowing users to use platforms according to their time, convenience and affordability. It is providing users ability to collaborate and work efficiently more than ever. Combining these two technologies can give a hands down advantage to the users in terms of knowledge and efficiency. Big Data, when used in cloud computing has applications in different fields such as Finance, Management, supply chain, planning, data storage, warehouses and many more. In this paper, we have discussed Big Data implementation and application in Cloud Computing. 4 V’s in big data can be applied in Cloud computing to get better performance, higher input details, better insights, reliable and secure platforms at comparatively lower costs. Different analytics, technology involved in coupling of big data with cloud computing, the challenges involved in this process, trends applications of the domain and security factors involved are discussed in this paper

This paper investigates the grinding process on unreinforced (PA66) and reinforced glass-fiber polyamide 6,6 (PA66 GF30) with Al2O3 and SiC abrasive wheels. Both materials were ground by varying rotations, workpiece infeed speed, depth of cuts for sequential roughing/finishing steps. Dry and liquid coolant conditions were also considered during the grinding process to evaluate the effects on part quality. The surface roughness was used to assess the quality of the final products with several parameter combinations, identifying the induced process trends. The results show that at the end of the finishing step, the surface roughness Rz was lower than 4 μm, attaining the lowest value of 1.34 μm for PA66 specimens. The analysis also suggested the choice of the Al2O3 grinding wheel to reach the lowest Rz values for both materials.

Abstract This study reports the first assessment of published comments in the family medicine literature using structured codes, which produced commentary annotations that will be the foundation of a knowledge base of appraisals of family medicine trials. Evidence appraisal occurs in a variety of formats and serves to shed light on the quality of research. However, scientific discourse generally and evidence appraisal in particular has not itself been analyzed for insights. A search strategy was devised to identify all journal comments indexed in PubMed linked to controlled intervention studies published in a recent 15-year period in major family medicine journals. A previously developed structured representation in the form of a list of appraisal concepts was used to formally annotate and categorize the journal comments through an iterative process. Trends in family medicine evidence appraisal were then analyzed. A total of 93 comments on studies from five journals over 15 years were included in the analysis. Two thirds of extracted appraisals were negative criticisms. All appraisals of measurement instruments were negative (100%). The participants baseline characteristics, the author discussions, and the design of the interventions were also criticized (respectively 91.7%, 84.6% and 83.3% negative). In contrast, appraisals of the scientific basis of the studies were positive (81.8%). The categories with the most appraisals were, most generally, those focused on the study design, and most specifically, those focused on the scientific basis. This study provides a new data-driven approach to review scientific discourse regarding the strengths and limitations of research within academic family medicine. This methodology can potentially generalize to other medical domains. Structured appraisal data generated here will enable future clinical, scientific, and policy decision-making and broader meta-research in family medicine.

When a disaster occurs, a large number of images and texts attached geographic information often flood the social network in the Internet quickly. All these information provide a new data source for timely awareness of disaster situations. However, due to the regional variation in the number of social media users and characteristics of information propagate in cyberspace, new problems arose in the pattern analysis of spatial point process represented by the check-in data, such as the correlation between check-in points density and disasters events density, the spatial relation between check-in points, the spatial heterogeneity of point pattern and associated influences. In this study, we took the No. 201614 Typhoon as an example and collected Sina Weibo data between September 14 and September 17, 2016 using keywords “Typhoon” and “Meranti”. We classified the Weibo texts using Support Vector Machine(SVM) algorithms, and constructed a disaster database containing relevant check-in information. In addition, considering the spatial heterogeneity of Weibo users, we proposed a weighted model based on user activity at the check-in points. Using Moran’s I of the global autocorrelation statistics, we compared the check-in data before and after adding weights and discovered obvious spatial autocorrelation of the check-in data in real geographical locations. We tested our model on Weibo data with keyword “rain” and “power failure”. The results show that series map generated by our model can reflect the typhoon disaster spatio-temporal process trends well.

The experimental quantification of the process parameters associated with bone burring represents a desirable outcome both from the perspective of an optimized surgical procedure as well as that of a future implementation into the design of closed-loop controllers used in robot-assisted bone removal operations. Along these lines, the present study presents an experimental investigation of the effects that tool type, rotational speed of the tool, depth of cut, feed rate, cutting track overlap, and tool angle (to a total of 864 total unique combinations) have on bone temperature, tool vibration, and cutting forces associated with superficial bone removal operations. The experimental apparatus developed for this purpose allowed a concurrent measurement of bone temperature, tool vibration, and cutting forces as a function of various process parameter combinations. A fully balanced experimental design involving burring trials performed on a sawbone analog was carried out to establish process trends and subsets leading to local maximums and minimums in temperature and vibration were further investigated. Among the parameters tested, a spherical burr of 6 mm turning at 15,000 r/min and advancing at 2 mm/s with a 50% overlap between adjacent tool paths was found to yield both low temperatures at the bone/tool interface and minimal vibrations. This optimal set of parameters enables a versatile engagement between tool and bone without sacrificing the optimal process outcomes.

From the discussion of different approaches towards the innovation process understanding and modeling two types of approaches to the evolution of innovation models are developed and discussed. First the so-called innovation management approach which focuses on the evolution of the company innovation management strategies in different socioeconomic environments. Second is the analysis the evolution of innovation models themselves in conceptual sense (conceptual approach) as well as analysis of theoretical backgrounds and requirements for these models.The main focus of analysis in this approach is on advantages and disadvantages of different innovation models in their ability to describe the reality of innovation processes.
