The author represents a qualitative and meaningful analysis of the results of an empirical study of the professional orientation of university students with disabilities. The obtained results indicate the corresponding statistically-significant differences in the subject area, professional intentions and the status of the professional identity among university students with disabilities and students with a conditional norm of health. The analysis of the results of the empirical study demonstrates the immaturity of the professional awareness of students with disabilities, which consists in the absence of taking into account the existing limitations in their future profession, a low level of awareness of its essence and the opportunities it provides, as well as the problematic nature of the status of their professional identity. This allows us to assert that the relevant vector of educational and professional activity of students with disabilities in higher education should be the directed development of an adequate professional orientation and its components, in addition, taking into account the nature of health limitations.

Physical education is a systemic mastering of rational ways of controlling his movements by a person, thus acquiring a fund of motor abilities, skills and knowledge related to them, necessary in life. Purposeful management of the progressive development of strength, speed, endurance and other physical qualities affects the complex of natural properties of the body and thereby determines the quantitative and qualitative changes in its functional capabilities. A distinctive feature of physical education is that it provides a systematic formation of motor skills and directed development of physical qualities of a person, totality of which determi¬nes his physical capacity to a decisive extent. In the creative heritage of Azerbaijani educators of the second half of the XIX – early XX century, labor education is one of the main directions. They explained to the general public that the prosperity of both the individual and society as a whole is closely linked to hard work and diligence. They also tried to raise awareness of ways to organize work more efficiently and effectively.

Purpose The Student Equity & Inclusion Workgroup is a student-led initiative at The University of Kansas that aims to advance equity and inclusion. Within this structure, the workgroup is entirely student-led and independent of any institutional initiatives. It has developed three themes— recognizing minority student leadership, ensuring equitable access to opportunities, and meaningfully supporting students—and used those themes to develop comprehensive programming in research, institutional advocacy, mentorship, and fellowship. Research initiatives included creating research opportunities for minority students by developing independent research projects. Institutional advocacy initiatives focused on policy change and developing a uniquely situated network of allies at and beyond the university. Mentorship centered student-to-student transmission of knowledge, skills, and support. Fellowship entailed creating opportunities for community building and recognition of minority student excellence. Conclusions Student-led initiatives such as those of the workgroup may be an effective way of supporting minority students in communication sciences and disorders. Institutions endeavoring to advance equity and inclusion should consider empowering students through facilitation of self-directed development, using institutional supports to support minority students on their terms, and recognizing students as capable partners in rethinking equity and inclusion.

The body acting as a whole could function positively. In the body comprehensive functional-anatomical framework, adaptations start with core-to-match to the environment, and being fit and snug in living is important. For an individual to actuate and assert in confronting the surrounding environment, the body is prepared by a nervous and vascular co-directed development whence information and perfusion go together. This coupled nervous-perfusional adaptivity is for the first time expressed in this paper. Correspondingly, Chinese medicine describes the concept with Qi (Energy process) and Xue (Blood); and also related Yin Yang dynamics. Positivity in living in an individual can be ensured by the fit and snug processes with these body assets working together for advantages in living. The whole functional-anatomical body is involved from the heart, brain and other systems and managed in this perspective.

This article critically contributes to the debate on private large-scale agriculture for export crop production as a means to address the problem of food security in Ethiopia. The reviewed literature was identified by combining relevant keywords. The consumer price index and rainfall pattern, food gaps and affected population were calculated and presented using Microsoft Excel software. The paper argues that although private large-scale agriculture has opportunities in terms of employment generation, income and national-level growth, it poses risks to small-scale farmers’ food security. Loss of access to agricultural land and exposure to market risks endanger their food and livelihood security. The analysis suggests that both large-scale and small-scale agriculture is not a viable means to effectively reduce Ethiopia’s complex food insecurity and hunger. Improving food production for local consumption through transforming small-scale farms to medium-sized labour-intensive farms coupled with investment in manufacturing and building social protection through the adoption of well-intentioned state-directed development interventions that care about the well-being of individuals and households is needed.

This case study explores the trajectory of a reading teacher’s self-directed development when implementing drama-based pedagogy in an under-resourced College in China. Through qualitative analyses of multiple data sources collected over one semester, the study demonstrates that the teacher’s self-directed use of drama-based pedagogy following teacher student joint learning of reading texts was contextually driven with his use of drama-based pedagogy being partially motivated by its potential to engage his students’ interest in reading learning. The teacher was able to dynamically adjust and refine his implementation of drama-based pedagogy in relation to his students’ post-reading reading reflections, their drama planning and dramatic presentations, their post-performance reflections, as well as their in-class learning. The students’ increased interest for reading and improved literacy development in the latter part of the semester augmented the teacher’s confidence in drama-based pedagogy, and feelings of self-empowerment resulting from his self-directed development. The study concludes that, along with teachers’ efforts to deal with the dynamic complexities of better meeting students’ needs, the self-directed use of drama-based pedagogy can be a helpful and accessible tool to support reading teachers to re-conceptualize their self-directed development in an under-resourced educational context.

The culture of speech of a teacher is the most important quality of his professional pedagogical activity, the specificity of which consists in constant contact with other people. Proficiency in professionally literate speech is, on the one hand, a condition for the effectiveness of training and education, on the other hand, it ensures that the teacher performs such an important social function as the preservation and development of the language, through which the value orientations of the student are created. Therefore, it is very important to develop the culture of speech in students studying in pedagogical areas of training, because the further transfer of experience and knowledge, the level of culture of behavior and communication of the younger generation depends on them. The paper presents the results of a study aimed at actively involving students-teachers in the process of discussion and analytical communication. The work was carried out on the basis of the Orsk humanitarian and technological Institute (branch) of OSU and the Magnitogorsk state technical University named after G. I. Nosov. Comparative analysis of the results at the formative stage of the experiment allowed us to conclude that the growth of the level of development of students ' speech culture is effective in all experimental groups, that is, the active involvement of students studying in pedagogical areas of training in the process of discussion and analytical communication effectively affects the development of speech culture.

This paper considers various aspects of pro-gress, as a problem touched upon in the article by A.L. Nikiforov. The author suggests an assumption about the heuristic significance of the idea of progress in social philosophy as a kind of research tool, which is effective in the analysis of various social processes and allows to trace their directed development accord-ing to some criterion. It is argued that in this case, it is necessary to comply with a number of conditions: one requirement (a clear formulation of the criterion) and three prohibitions – a prohibition on subjective assess-ment, on discussion about criteria, and on absolutizing a criterion.
