In order to achieve the purpose of high-efficiency dephosphorization by single-slag method during the combined blown converter steelmaking process, the CaO-SiO2-FetO-MgO-MnO-P2O5 slag system was taken as the research object, and the slag-forming route of dephosphorization was studied. The effects of slag compositions on the liquidus and the contour map of phosphorus distribution ratios (recorded as Lp) were calculated by thermodynamics software FactSage, and then the theoretic slag-forming route of dephosphorization was obtained. The effects of slag compositions on dephosphorization rate and Lp were studied by a high-temperature experiment. Based on the results of the theoretic calculation and high-temperature experiment, the actual slag-forming route of dephosphorization by the single-slag process in the combined blown converter was obtained: The initial slag composition should be around 15.0%CaO-44.0%SiO2-41.0%FetO. The composition of high-efficiency dephosphorization slag should be around 50.8%CaO-24.2%SiO2-25%FetO. The final slag composition should be around 65.6%CaO-28.3%SiO2-6.1%FetO. After using the actual slag-forming route in the production, the dephosphorization rate was increased by 3.6%, and the consumption of slagging materials was reduced by 3.78 kg/t.

A lake temperature experiment was performed at the Prošće, Plitvice Lakes, Croatia during a 4-month observational period (6 July–4 November, 2019) to investigate the occurrence and characteristics of internal seiches in the lake. Two-minute mean lake temperatures were measured at a single lake point at fifteen depths ranging from 0.2 to 27 m. Analysis of these data provided insight into the previously unknown and rather complex Prošće Lake seiching. Power spectral densities (PSDs) and magnitude-squared coherences (γ2), together with corresponding cross-spectrum phases that were obtained from the hourly mean lake temperature, air pressure and wind speed data, suggested the presence of three vertical modes of an internal seiche. The first mode (V1H1, period of 6.09 h) corresponds to free baroclinic oscillations; the second mode (V2H1, period of 11.64 h) and the third mode (V3H1, period of 25.60 h) are associated with forced baroclinic oscillations of the lake interior. Excitation of the higher vertical modes is attributed to the influence of dense tributary water. Due to this water influence, vertical temperature gradients in the lake interior were relatively weak; consequently, a single thick metalimnion and/or two metalimnetic layers were established, which resulted in the presence of the V2H1 and V3H1 modes, respectively. Additionally, due to the influence of tributary water, the lake did not attain the typical stratification that is characterized by hypolimnetic temperatures of ≈ 4°C. Instead, during the entire observational period, the hypolimnetic temperatures were consistently above 7.6 °C.

In this paper, experimental and numerical results of an aluminum alloy’s mechanical behavior are discussed. Over a wide range of strain rates (10−4 s−1 ≤ έ ≤ 103 s−1) the influence of the loading impact, velocity and temperature on the dynamic response of the material was analyzed. The interface friction effect on the material’s dynamic response is examined using a split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) in a high temperature experiment using finite element analysis (FEA). The effect of different friction conditions between the specimen and the transmitted/incident bars in the SHPB system was examined using cylinder bulk specimens and cylinder plates defined with four-layer configurations. The results of these tests alongside the presented numerical simulations allow a better understanding of the phenomenon and reduces (minimizes) errors during compression tests at high and low strain rates with temperatures ranging from 21 to 300 °C.

The force-to-rebalanced control mode is the main operating mechanism of the HRG, and the standing wave azimuth of the resonator points to the 0° direction. But the bias of the HRG is very sensitive to the change of external physical field environment and it is urgent to improve the bias stability. The relationship between the bias of the HRG and the standing wave azimuth is periodic. When the standing wave azimuth and the damping axis are aligned, the bias error of the HRG will be greatly reduced, and the bias stability of the HRG affected by the temperature can also be improved by changing the azimuth of standing wave. In this paper, the control algorithm and the hardware circuit of the HRG are designed to control the HRG at any standing wave azimuths. The control of the HRG in different standing wave azimuths is realized, and the system temperature experiment is carried out. The experimental results show that the bias of the HRG are significantly different at different standing wave azimuths, and the bias stability of the HRG affected by the temperature can be improved 3 times by changing the standing wave azimuth.

AbstractThe non-centrosymmetric scandium borate ScB6O9(OH)3 was obtained through a high-pressure/high-temperature experiment at 6 GPa and 1473 K. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that the structure is isotypic to InB6O9(OH)3 containing borate triple layers separated by scandium layers. The compound crystallizes in the space group Fdd2 with the lattice parameters a = 38.935(4), b = 4.4136(4), and c = 7.6342(6) Å. Powder X-ray diffraction and vibrational spectroscopy were used to further characterize the compound and verify the proposed structure solution.

Sb distribution in the phases of SiO2 saturated Sb-Fe-O-SiO2-CaO system has been determined for the first time through high-temperature experiment and quenching techniques, followed by Electron probe X-ray microanalysis(EPMA) in air(Ptot= 1 atm, PO2= 0.21 atm). The phases were quantified in the temperature range of 900?C-1200?C and the effects of Fe/SiO2(mass fraction) and CaO/SiO2(mass fraction) on Sb2O3 content in the Sb-Fe-O-SiO2-CaO system were investigated at 1200?C. The results indicate that the Sb-containing phase primarily existed in the solid solution phase at 1200?C. With the increase of temperature from 1100?C to 1200?C, the Sb2O3 content in the solid solution phase increased drastically from 7.52 wt% to 17.36 wt%. Lowering the values of CaO/SiO2 and Fe/SiO2 in the smelting process effectively reduced Sb2O3 content in the slag. The verification experiment results suggest that the antimony content in slag was 0.57 wt%, the crude antimony yield rate was lower than 4%,and the crude antimony grade was beyond 94 wt%, which can achieve the reduction of antimony content in the slag.

A high-pressure/high-temperature experiment at 7.5 GPa and 1673 K led to the formation of the new compound βY2B4O9. In contrast to the already known polymorph αY2B4O9, which crystallizes in the space group C2/c, the reported structure could be solved via single-crystal Xray diffraction in the triclinic space group P1 (no. 2) and is isotypic to the already known lanthanide borates βDy2B4O9 and βGd2B4O9. Furthermore, the photoluminescence of an europium doped sample of βY2B4O9:Eu3+ (8%) was investigated.
