URGENSI PENGETAHUAN PARENTING SKILL ISLAMI BAGI ORANG TUA UNTUK PEMBINAAN AKHLAK ANAK

Morals are one of the important things in everyday human life. Having good morals will be accompanied by good teaching and learning activities as well. Parents have a big enough share and are very important for the formation of children's character/personality, especially when they are still at an early age. The knowledge of parenting skills is not only obtained or learned from one party, but from both parties (Father and Mother) must agree on values that can help or hone these parenting skills for parents. The things or values that can be passed down to children are: (1) be a good role model for children, (2) always be calm, (3) always explain the consequences of good and bad behavior in children, (4) encourage children to build self-esteem, (5) Say and show the unconditional love of parents to children.

CRIME AND PUNISHMENT IN THE CHAPTER “REBELLION”, IN THE NOVEL “THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV” OF F. M. DOSTOEVSKY (Problems of the suffering of the innocent)

F. M. Dostoevsky is one of the world's great writers who, while preserving the autonomy of a literary work, incorporated into his works issues of an ethical-philosophical and religious character. He permeated his works with echoes of these topics, but, in addition to the literary stamp, in some chapters he concretized ethical-philosophical and religious issues, for example, in the novel "The Brothers Karamazov", in the chapters "Rebellion" and "The Grand Inquisitor”. Concerning his spirituality and his perspective on life and society, Dostoevsky belongs to writers whose moral norms are the foundation and imperative of their poetics. He paid special attention to those who were "insulted and humiliated, ", the so-called "little people", especially children who suffer in the world of adults. In this light, we can also say that the title of the chapter "Rebellion" is a seal of Dostoevsky's work, and our work focuses on the central theme of "Rebellion" - the relationship of adult characters to the suffering of children in the world, and the very purpose of punishment for crimes which cannot adequately be redeemed. By analyzing this key chapter of the novel, through concrete images of the suffering of children and the attitudes of Ivan Karamazov, we emphasize the motif of crime and punishment in "The Brothers Karamazov": the question of freedom, that is, free will, but also love towards people who are close, which Dostoevsky problematizes, especially in the parent-child relationship. We also point out the creative task of this Russian writer; his effort to solve the eternal enigma of man as a being, through which the writer wants to solve the riddle of God. Ivan's rebellion against such an arrangement of God is also shown, in which the suffering of the innocent is allowed, with the hero's rejections of future harmony at the expense of the suffering of the innocent and powerless. In this chapter, which has so far received little attention in literary criticism, Dostoevsky also questioned the eternal questions of man through the experience of lived truth, with the view that there is no goal worthy of a single human life or a child's tears. In his complex task, synthesizing in the sphere of literature, ethical-philosophical and religious attitudes, Dostoevsky determines the essence of man and his moral values, opposing the postulates of the notion of unconditional love to rational will, determined by social, generally accepted factors. Based on a wider range of contrasts and contradictory attitudes of Dostoevsky's heroes, especially Ivan Karamazov in "Rebellion", from atheism, faith and agnosticism, to rebellion and preaching, we conclude that these categories are strongly intertwined in the rich literary amplitude of Dostoevsky - writer and ethicist, philosopher, and preacher in literature - and not only permeate, but always end with the apotheosis of a love for man, especially for the so-called "little man", and for unprotected children, indicating the author’s strong compassion for the suffering of the innocent.

Smartphone Time Machine: Tech-Supported Improvements in Time Perspective and Wellbeing Measures

Individuals with a balanced time perspective, which includes good thoughts about the past, awareness of present constraints and adaptive planning for a positive future, are more likely to report optimal wellbeing. However, people who have had traumas such as adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are likely to have less balanced time perspectives and lower overall wellbeing when compared to those with fewer or no ACEs. Time perspective can be improved via time-travel narratives that support people in feeling connected to a wise and loving future version of themselves, an approach that has until now only been provided in counseling contexts. Our team used an iterative inclusive design process to shape a scalable time-travel narrative tool – a responsive and progressive web application called Time Machine. Among other functionalities, Time Machine allowed people to record and listen to messages as if they were from and to their past and future selves. Using pre-planned as well as post-hoc analyses, we analyzed quantitative and qualitative data from 96 paid design partners (participants) who were taken through a 26-day pilot study of the technology. Among other effects, the results revealed: (1) high engagement throughout the design process, (2) improvements in self-reported time perspective and overall wellbeing scores that were greater for those using Time Machine during an optional-use period, (3) twice as much improvement in overall wellbeing scores for design partners with high ACEs (16%) versus low ACEs (8%), and (4) feelings of unconditional love apparently mediating the relationship between scores on time perspective and overall wellbeing measures. We discuss the limitations of these results as well as implications for the future role of spiritually informed scalable time-travel narrative technologies in healthcare and wellness.

Sufi Healing and the Translation of Metafunction in Al-Hikam Aphorisms

Studies related to Sufi healing have focused on the theories used by Hakim abu-Abdullah Moinuddin al-Chishtiyya related to the power of unconditional love to work healing miracles. The aspects contained in his Book of Sufi Healing consequently become the starting point for the elaboration of the Al-Hikam aphorisms, the monumental work of Ibn Athaillah As-Sakandari. This study aimed to find common ground between Sufi healing and the Al-Hikam aphorisms. To find this meeting point, descriptive analysis was carried out from linguistic and cultural perspectives using Functional Systemic Linguistic theory and Ricoeur’s translation theory applied to Arabic (L1) and Bahasa Indonesia and English language text. The main qualitative data were collected from Arabic clauses in the Al-Hikam aphorisms, comprising 435 clauses with a thematic structure derived from 100 Al-Hikam aphorisms. Linguistic theory was used to examine the text in detail from both micro and macro perspectives, the former being used to examine the shift in form and meaning, and the latter to examine the ideology of translation in conveying Sufi healing in the Al-Hikam aphorisms (infinite hermeneutics in translation). The results showed that the clause structure in Arabic can be divided into three main patterns (SVCOMP/entity-oriented, VSCOMP/event-oriented, and SCOMP/verbless sentence structure). In terms of Ricoeur’s infinite hermeneutics, the position of wager was viewed from the lexical meaning of the Al-Hikam aphorisms, while the transformation stage in the model can be applied to the study of Al-Hikam aphorisms as the basis for understanding Sufi healing.

Conditional Parenting and its Influence on the Child’s School Activity

This article addresses the topic of conditional parenting, and it focuses on analyzing the relationship between parenting and the school activity of the student at the level of primary education. Conditional parenting, which provides the child with conditional love and self-esteem, it stands out by: focusing on the child's behavior, considering that human nature is negative and parental love is a privilege that must be earned, also being the adept of punishments and rewards. Conditional love entails the parent's desire to have an obedient child, obedience being the basis of control. `How could an obedient and conditional loved child develop competencies for the future? How well will he meets the demands of today's school or how will he relate to the faculty? These are the questions that have guided the approach of the whole mixed type research, that has been carried out over a period of half a year, using the following methods: questionnaire based survey and focus group method. Through this research, conclusions were drawn regarding conditional parenting and its influence on school activity of the pupil in the primary cycle. Starting from the interpretation of the research results, it was highlighted that the relationships between children and parents based on safety and unconditional love have contributed to the harmonious development of the child and to the skills for the future, through school.

A Study on Moral Values Represented in Shawshank Redemption Movie

This research analyzed Shawshank Redemption movie, a movie by Frank Darabont. This movie told about the struggling of Andy Dufresne who was accused of the murder of his wife and her affair. This research focused on moral value of the movie. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative method. This study aims to found the moral values of Shawshank Redemption movie. Documentation method was used to collect the data and descriptive analysis technique to analyze the data. The results of this study are the moral values found in the Shawshank Redemption movie; honestly, hard work, unconditional love and kindness, compassion, and co-operation. Then hard work as the most dominant moral value appears in the Shawshank Redemption movie, because this moral value often occurs in this movie.

When I began my MFA, I had no idea I was going to create a project about my own family – that I would be projecting giant portraits of my mother and father’s face on gallery walls. But, over the last two years, the deep-seeded troubles my family ignored for as long as I can remember bubbled to the surface. Just as the chaos began to unfold, I started my MFA, trying to figure out what story I wanted to share with the world. It turned out that our story would be the one to tell. If there is one thing I am sure of, this story would not have been discussed and shared with the public, if it wasn’t for the deep and unconditional love and trust we possess for one another.

“How about . . . We Watch a Scary Movie Together”

Chapter 1 explores serial drama’s affectionate relationship with cinema through the concept of homage. Homage has historically been thought of as a gesture of unconditional love; in cinema studies, it is meant to visualize one auteur’s affection for another. But this chapter turns to more recent treatments of homage, which tend to balance admiration with critique. Chapter 1 reads Stranger Things (Netflix, 2016–present) as an act of homage to the 1980s. Unlike the nostalgia-driven interpretations of homage, however, here it is read as an act of critical reflection. What this implies is that the series devours its cinematic love objects, thus demonstrating how televisual homage might manifest itself as a desire to embody and replace cinema.

Nationalism in R.K Narayans The Guide and Syed Waliullahs The Ugly Asian: A Comparative Study

Nativism or nationalism both carried one strong message of love, devotion, dedication for a country from an individual, a group of people to a whole nation. It is an ideology, a belief that holds people together living in the same country but with different cultures, languages, traditions, education, religion, and a different perspective of seeing life. This research delved into performing a comparative and theoretical analysis of R K Narayan's The Guide and Syed Waliullah's The Ugly Asian. Here the paper is based on nativism or nationalism, the attitude and the actions of the characters presented in the books with the point of view of the writers. R K Narayan's The Guide pictured a rural man and his journey, journey toward finding himself, finding his unconditional love for people, and finding the nationalist under his bare skin where the heartbeats. Syed Waliullah's The Ugly Asian is breaking the chain which tries to suffocate freedom of the country, whether it is the fraudulent and anti-people government or the bloodsucking white-skin colonial people.
