Abstract With the establishment of the digital twin stereoscopic warehouse concept, the importance of twin data has become increasingly prominent for digital twin system. Aiming at the problem of low accuracy in obtaining twin data from warehouse stocks, an isolated point cloud filtering algorithm combine with digital signal processing is proposed. The algorithm can retrieve the coordinate value of isolated point in original twin point cloud by constructing a twin point cloud fitting model, thereby filter out the point information of isolated region and obtain the warehousing twin data. The experiment results show that the algorithm can filter all isolated points while keeping the characteristics of original twin point cloud. The method provides accurate twin data support for digital twin stereoscopic warehouse.

Tamping needs to guarantee safety in limiting geometric failures in isolated points, reduce dynamic forces by a smooth through-going longitudinal level, and provide a certain riding comfort for passengers. Although different methods are applied to describe geometry deterioration, the amount of tamping needed is seldomly addressed. In this work, we evaluated and compared different tamping regimes and their long-term consequences by extrapolating the longitudinal level of track. Forecasting beyond one tamping action needs a precise positioning of measurement data and a solid methodology. We found that tracks can be operated by repairing isolated defects for more than ten years without running into technical and operational trouble, and even reducing budgets in this period. However, the long-term perspective financially shows the contrary: continuous through-going maintenance keeps track quality at a high level and provides the basis for a long service life.

Chemiexcitation, the generation of electronic excited states by a thermal reaction initiated on the ground state, is an essential step in chemiluminescence, and it is mediated by the presence of a conical intersection that allows a nonadiabatic transition from ground state to excited state. Conical intersections classified as sloped favor chemiexcitation over ground state relaxation. The chemiexcitation yield of 1,2-dioxetanes is known to increase upon methylation. In this work we explore to which extent this trend can be attributed to changes in the conical intersection topography or accessibility. Since conical intersections are not isolated points, but continuous seams, we locate regions of the conical intersection seams that are close to the configuration space traversed by the molecules as they react on the ground state. We find that conical intersections are energetically and geometrically accessible from the reaction trajectory, and that topographies favorable to chemiexcitation are found in all three molecules studied. Nevertheless, the results suggest that dynamic effects are more important for explaining the different yields than the static features of the potential energy surfaces.

Traditional rural Chinese landscapes have fragmented from the impact of rapid urbanisation and modernisation. Aiming to address this tough issue, the Chinese central government proposed the Traditional Villages Project, which is top-down traditional village management and conservation policy. A traditional village landscape network (TVLN) can be used to integrate rural landscapes and ensure the unified protection of natural and cultural landscapes. This paper aimed to establish a method of building a TVLN through three main steps: the calculation of the connection strength of traditional villages, calculation of the tie strength between traditional villages, and establishment of a TVLN. The results demonstrated the rich layers and stable structure of the Yuan River Basin’s TVLN, but there was a hidden risk in its stability due to the existence of tangent and isolated points. This TVLN quantitatively examined the characteristics and relationships of traditional villages and provided data support for the approval of traditional villages and protection policy formulation. A TVLN can support the overall conservation of traditional village landscapes, enhance their comprehensive value, and promote the sustainable management and cross-regional protection of traditional village landscapes.

The main disadvantage of the classic sliding mode is that the control signal is made of high frequency variations. In the recommended pointwisesliding mode the frequency of the variations decreases, since the control signal makes jumps at the isolated points. At the same time, the trajectory remains in a small neighborhood of the plane of switching. In the finish mode, the trajectories that start over the sliding plane reach simultaneously the equilibrium point. It is possible to assume that these regulators will expand the implementation scope of the sliding (quazisliding) modes.

In general, the state of a system in which a physical quantity such as mass is distributed over space can be modeled by a function that represents the density distribution. The purpose of this paper is to introduce special functions that can be applied when in the system to be modeled, where the quantity is distributed over isolated points. For that matter, the expanded real numbers are introduced as an ordered subring of the hyperreal number field that does not contain any infinitesimals, and hyperreal delta functions are defined as special functions from the real numbers to the expanded real numbers satisfying the condition that (i) the support is a singleton, and (ii) the integral over the reals is a nonzero real number. These newly defined hyperreal delta functions, and tensor products thereof, then provide a general tool, applicable for the mathematical modeling of physical systems in which infinitely high densities occur.

Abstract Unlocking the exotic properties promised to occur in topologically non-trivial semi-metals currently requires significant fine-tuning. Crystalline symmetry restricts the location of topological defects to isolated points (0D) or lines (1D), as formalized by the Wigner-Von Neumann theorem. The scarcity of materials in which these anomalies occur at the chemical potential is a major obstacle towards their applications. Here we show how non-crystalline quasi-symmetries stabilize near-degeneracies of bands over extended regions in energy and in the Brillouin zone. Specifically, a quasi-symmetry is an exact symmetry of a k∙p Hamiltonian to lower-order that is broken by higher-order terms. Hence quasi-symmetric points are gapped, yet the gap is parametrically small and therefore does not influence the physical properties of the system. We demonstrate that in the eV-bandwidth semi-metal CoSi an internal quasi-symmetry stabilizes gaps in the 1-2 meV range over a large near-degenerate plane (2D). This quasi-symmetry is key to explaining the surprising simplicity of the experimentally observed quantum oscillations of four interpenetrating Fermi surfaces around the R-point. Untethered from the limitations of crystalline symmetry, quasi-symmetries eliminate the need for fine-tuning as they enforce sources of large Berry curvature to occur at the chemical potential, and thereby lead to new Wigner-Von Neumann classifications of solids. Quasi-symmetries arise from a comparable splitting of degenerate states by spin-orbit coupling and by orbital dispersion - suggesting a hidden classification framework for symmetry groups and materials in which quasi-symmetries are critical to understand the low-energy physics.

The fuzzy topological space was introduced by Dip in 1999 depending on the notion of fuzzy spaces. Dip’s approach helps to rectify the deviation in some definitions of fuzzy subsets in fuzzy topological spaces. In this paper, further definitions, and theorems on fuzzy topological space fill the lack in Dip’s article. Different types of fuzzy topological space on fuzzy space are presented such as co-finite, co-countable, right and left ray, and usual fuzzy topology. Furthermore, boundary, exterior, and isolated points of fuzzy sets are investigated and illustrated based on fuzzy spaces. Finally, separation axioms are studied on fuzzy spaces

Abstract In this note we consider smooth elliptic Calabi-Yau four-folds whose fiber ceases to be flat over compact Riemann surfaces of genus g in the base. These non-flat fibers contribute Kähler moduli to the four-fold but also add to the three-form cohomology for g > 0. In F-/M-theory these sectors are to be interpreted as compactifications of six/five dimensional $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = (1, 0) superconformal matter theories. The three-form cohomology leads to additional chiral singlets proportional to the dimension of five dimensional Coulomb branch of those sectors. We construct explicit examples for E-string theories as well as higher rank cases. For the E-string theories we further investigate conifold transitions that remove those non-flat fibers. First we show how non-flat fibers can be deformed from curves down to isolated points in the base. This removes the chiral singlet of the three-forms and leads to non-perturbative four-point couplings among matter fields which can be understood as remnants of the former E-string. Alternatively the non-flat fibers can be avoided by performing birational base changes analogous to 6D tensor branches. For compact bases these transitions alternate all Hodge numbers but leave the Euler number invariant.

Small Hydroelectric Power Plants (SHPPs) are hydroelectric of reduced size and power, i.e., less than thirteen square kilometres of reservoir area and power less than 30 MW (megawatts). SHPPs account for about 3.7% of all installed capacity of the Brazilian power generation system, which demonstrates their relevance in the national scenario. In addition to this function, SHPPs also influence the socioeconomic development of the region by helping to create direct and indirect jobs. In this context, the goal of this work was the microstructural analysis of the concrete of the dam of SHPP Ponte Queimada, installed in Rio Casca, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Ponte Queimada was built in 1936; over the years it underwent some interventions and, currently, it undergoes a new intervention for maintenance and repairs. By means of visual inspection, the sites for collecting the samples were identified. The samples were analysed regarding the morphology and chemical composition of the concrete using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). Based on the collected samples, isolated points of occurrence of alkali-aggregate reaction (AAR) were identified. The observed samples, besides possessing chemical elements compatible with manifestations of AAR, also presented shapes that visually resemble to them. It was concluded that the use of SEM is an effective and relatively simple alternative for the identification of pathological manifestations that could compromise the durability of the structures, often allowing the determination of repair measures in anticipation of the prevention of future problems.
