Religion can determine how people perceive socio-political reality, especially in a cultural context in which religious affiliation is an important part of national identity. This has a special significance in the Polish cultural context, in which Catholicism is considered the national religion, and its institutional dimension plays an important role in the Polish socio-political domain. The purpose of this study is to analyse how religion affects the socio-political attitudes of Poles abroad. This analysis focuses directly on evaluating the influence of the spiritual leaders of Polish community organisations in the UK on the knowledge and opinions of Brexit among Polish post-accession emigrants to the UK. The study was conducted on a sample of 620 Poles living in the UK (62.6% male) using a group-administered questionnaire. The study found that the Polish Catholic clergy did not play an important role in opinion-forming, i.e., in shaping what Polish emigrants to the UK know and think about Brexit. What proved to be the most powerful factor in terms of opinion-making was the British mass media. The influence of the Catholic clergy on the knowledge of—and opinions on—Brexit among Polish emigrants was only evident among elderly people who did not know English very well, and who regularly participated in religious activities.

Abstract: This study aimed to examine the institutional dimension of conventional and organic cotton farming; specifically, the relationships between farms and government organizations. In both, conventional and organic production systems, the farmers are located in varying institutional environments. These environments include a social capital formed by relationships of trust and cognitive affinities. This study focused on the social capital and guidelines for sustainable development. Multiple study cases were used for explanatory purposes. Such cases refer to a conventional cotton farming business and a civil society organization dedicated to organic cotton farming, both located in the state of Piauí. A comparative analysis perspective was adopted based on the elements of content analysis. The results showed that the conventional cotton farming business comprises relationships with governmental organizations that are predominantly oriented towards economic efficiency purposes, while the family-based organic cotton farming association comprises relationships oriented by economic, social, and environmental objectives. The present study extends the discussion on these topics by analyzing the institutional dimension oriented towards the sustainable development premises.

Despite studies on the lesson study experiences of English teachers have increased in Turkey in recent years, there is a need for further studies on how to integrate the model into the context. In this study, the qualitative research on the lesson study conducted with English teachers in Turkey was examined, and it was aimed to reach a synthesis to ensure the proliferation of the model. The common databases were searched with keywords, and specific inclusion criteria were used. Selected studies were scored with a checklist to be evaluated in terms of quality, and eight studies (six articles and two doctoral dissertations) that received the required score were included in the research. In the analysis, the steps of developing the first and second-order themes, interpreting, and synthesizing were followed. The common findings in the studies show that the lesson study provides significant contributions to English teachers despite the difficulties in the process. The synthesis includes the initiatives at the individual and institutional dimensions. It is concluded that the pedagogical design capacity and collaboration skills of English teachers should be strengthened at the individual dimension while administrator, mentor / facilitator support should be provided, and policy changes should be made in teacher education at the institutional dimension. We also recommended examining how the model can be adapted to Turkey's cultural-educational context, teacher autonomy, and identity.

The main purpose of this article was to consider the peculiarities of the formation of the exchange rate in a resource-oriented economy, which includes the Russian economy. The article uses general scientific methods, in particular, analysis, synthesis, comparison, as well as a systematic approach to the study of information. The value of the exchange rate for the economy is indicated. The main indicators of exchange rates and the main groups of factors affecting the exchange rate of the national currency are described.

Infrastructures are complex networks dominated by tight interdependencies between technologies and institutions. These networks supply services crucial to modern societies, services that can be provided only if several critical functions are fulfilled. This book proposes a theoretical framework with a set of concepts to analyse rigorously how these critical functions require coordination within the technological dimension as well as within the institutional dimension. It also shows how fundamental the alignment between these two dimensions is. It argues that this alignment operates along different layers characterized successively by the structure, governance and transactions that connect technologies and institutions. These issues of coordination and alignment, at the core of the book, are substantiated through in-depth case studies of networks from the energy, water and wastewater, and transportation sectors.

Mangrove ecosystems provide various useful types of products and services to support the life needs of coastal communities. In the management of sustainable mangrove ecosystems, it is necessary to integrate activities in the ecological, economic, and social dimensions as it is known in the concept of sustainable development. This study aims to measure the sustainability status of mangrove ecosystem management in Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency. Data analysis is applying RAPFISH with the multidimensional scaling (MDS) method. The results show that the sustainability status of mangrove ecosystem management in Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, obtains a multidimensional index value of 45.79% with less sustainable status, index value; and the sustainability status in each dimension, is 21.72% for the ecological dimension (unsustainable), 49.15% for economic dimension (less sustainable), 40.68 % for social dimension (less sustainable), and 63.68% for institutional dimension (quite sustainable). The influencing factors for the sustainability of mangrove ecosystem management consist of 16 indicators from the 4 dimensions tested. The results of statistical parameter validation and the results of the Monte Carlo test show that all of the dimension indicators analyzed in the management of sustainability of mangrove ecosystems have a significant role in explaining the diversity of mangrove ecosystems dimensional index value and have a high level of confidence.
