FR. Sports take a significant place in our media societies. Informational productions on sports should therefore be apprehended as objectified commodities (Quére, 2000) and "normalized". This implies that sports should be apprehended based on existing social meanings which are co-constructed and given legitimacy by the journalist himself. Can diversity be considered as a norm? What does it consist of? How is it perceived by journalists? To what extent does it interfere with practices and discourses produced? The analysis developed refers theoretically and methodologically to the work of Denis McQuail (1997 & 2003) on "the accountability of media". It builds on the identification of discursive processes suggested by Schaeffer (1989), which are structured on the one hand by a communicative act that is elaborated on the basis of the processes of enunciation, and on the other hand by the act performed. In this case, the field data analyzed was produced by the RSJ-MéDiS Project: it was gathered during multiple competitions, workshops, symposiums, interviews and occasional informal exchanges. This data allows to better comprehend the enunciation context; however, analysis of the performed acts was conducted thanks to the commentary produced during the live broadcasts of selected sporting events. Those were consulted on the French National Archive Institute online consultation service, the INAthèque. The sporting events considered were the athletics competitions of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games as well as the 2017 London World Athletics Championships, which were broadcasted on multiple channels of the French public broadcasting company France Télévisions (France 2-3-4). In the present field of research – the discourse of France Télévisions sports journalists, and with regard to the events analyzed – international athletics competitions, norms and values commonly associated with sports appear to serve as a framework for the interpretation of sporting events and performances. At times inclusive, at times discriminatory, the discourse evolves based on the fluctuations of norms in sports. *** PT. ***

The article highlights the impact of globalization processes on formation of dominant worldviews and guidelines, as well as ways and means of representing the latter. The state and prospects of studying intertextuality as an important element of modern world discourses in the projection on the national cultural background are studied. Attention is drawn to the high degree of development of both theoretical and applied aspects of intertextuality of discourses by representatives of academic communities of different countries and fields of knowledge, which gave grounds to establish the polydiscursive and interdiscursive nature of the object of analysis. Orientation of domestic experts on parameterization of mainly specific manifestations of intertextuality within certain discourses at the level of isolated intertexts and presence of gaps in the theoretical description of the phenomenon in the context of national specificity is stated. Emphasis is placed on the definite variability of the terminology due to the interdisciplinary nature of discursiveness and, accordingly, intertextuality. A complementary link has been established between postmodernism as the dominant philosophical worldview and the intertextuality of discourses. The specifics of the intertextuality of contemporary Ukrainian literary discourse with regard to various scientific studies are clarified. The concept of “intertextual memory” is introduced and justification of its use is given. The need to apply the term “postmodern intertextuality” in relation to contemporary literary discourse is considered. The common and distinctive features of the manifestation of intertextuality in literary and journalistic discourses are traced. The specifics of intertextuality of Ukrainian journalistic discourse are described. It is established that the precedent character of the communicative act is of exceptional importance for realization of intertextuality in journalistic discourse.

This study tries to find out the use of perlocutionary acts in the Black Panther movie script, that is, how the characters’ utterances have some particular effects on other characters. The objective of this study is to describe the type of perlocutionary act which is used in the Black Panther movie script. This study uses a qualitative descriptive design. The source of data is obtained from the Black Panther movie script containing the dialog script of the characters’ utterances. The data are collected by reading the script intensively, watching the movie several times, and identifying, selecting, and coding the data. The data are analyzed by presenting the data, describing the data, interpreting the data, and concluding the data. The results show that the four types of the perlocutionary act which is used in the Black Panther movie script can be concluded based on the speakers’ communicative act purpose that can be either understood completely or can also be misunderstood by the interlocutor. The misunderstanding feedback of the interlocutors could be seen either in not realizing or not understanding the speakers’ utterances, the interlocutors intentionally tell lies or intentionally do not want to cooperate with the hearers, or the utterances’ meaning is clarified by the third speaker. The four types of perlocutionary act, based on Qiang’s theory, consist of the first type, that is, the intention of the one who speaks was entirely comprehended by the interlocutors), the second type, that is, the intention of the speaker is not comprehended completely by the interlocutor, the third type, that is, the hearers that tell lies to the speakers or the hearers intentionally hide something from the speakers, and the fourth type, that is, the intention of speaker that is not comprehended by the interlocutors, but because of the participation of others in the interaction.

Abstract The textual intercourse in computer-mediated communication is intertwined with graphicons of various forms, gaining new meanings and functions. They are part of the online culture and, specifically, part of the communicative skills in digital environment. In many cases, graphicons are used not as signs of emotion but rather as indication of the illocutionary force of the textual utterances that they accompany. The current work endeavours to reveal the specific aspect of language use where iconoid objects “take over” and substitute textual utterances. The paper also attempts to trace to what extent pragmatics could be applicable in the analysis of the visual representations (i.e. graphicons) embodied in computer-mediated communication as means of communicative acts. The different graphicon forms and the dynamics in the usage carry additional challenge for the interpretation of the “visual” act. However, it is possible to systematically trace a pattern in the occurrence of the graphicons – their use as a complementary to a written statement, and their use as a single communicative act.

The paper initially discusses some theoretical aspects of functional-stylistic stratification of vocabulary, with an emphasis on spoken language and its impact on standard language in terms of generating new stylistic values. Spoken language belongs to the colloquial style, so given its great potential in creating the connotative meaning of words, its boundaries are not clearly set, and in the communicative act almost every word can undergo semantic modification, resulting in special semantic or stylistic nuances. Stylistic nuance of vocabulary finds its foundation in filling communicative gaps, which, through different use in different contexts, can activate the desired effects in an effort to obtain a nuance of meaning that is appropriate to the circumstances in which it occurs. Furthermore, the paper pays special attention to the stylogenic values of time-layered vocabulary, ie passive vocabulary in the Dictionary of the Bosnian Language by Dževad Jahić. By using vocabulary that has gone out of use in the text in the modern sense, its functional orientation comes to the fore, which, given the context in which it is used, can have different degrees of stylistic expressiveness. Thus, the stylistic character of lexemes with the qualifier of archaism, historicism, historical and obsolete lexicon is considered, taking into account the examples excerpted from the material given with each entry. After conducted analysis, the stylistic function of passive vocabulary is nothing but the expression of the historical originality of an event. Using terms from the former era of existence helps writers to get their literary work on a truer and more convincing painting of a certain period, thus transmitting historical, social and cultural patterns and material culture of a region.

Composition writing has always been an integral part of the English Language curriculum in primary, secondary and tertiary education in Malaysia, yet being the most difficult of the four skills in English as a Second Language; the teaching of writing has often been neglected. Process writing, as distinguished from ‘Product Writing’, is playing a large role in ESL classes. Writing is seen as a communicative act with an intended purpose and audience. The teacher and other learners help the writer find a topic and revise drafts of a written piece until it conveys the intended meaning. While working to make their meanings clear, learners are assumed to acquire competence using the style, syntax, grammar and surface features of the language. During the writing process, students engage in pre-writing, planning, drafting and post-writing activities. However, learners do not necessarily engage in these activities in that order because the writing process is recursive in nature. Language rules are taught in teacher-led- mini-lessons but always in the context of expressing the learners’ own ideas. This paper reports on a study that explores how a process-oriented approach to writing influences a group of university ESL students.

The article presents and analyzes the semantic theories and the history of the study of anthroponyms, the syntactic characteristics of anthroponyms, issues related to the semantics of anthroponyms, as well as the features of the primary and secondary use of anthroponyms with a definite and indefinite article. As far as the tradition of research is concerned, linguistic considerations and concepts developed in the form of theories are especially important in this regard. In particular, the theory of names, the descriptive theory of anthroponyms, and the metallinguistic theory of anthroponyms. The subject of their research is the lexical and descriptive meaning of anthroponyms, the main reference, dependence on the context, information and cognitive content, convention (mutual agreement) of the participants in the communicative act.
