Abstract Aims The TAVI registry represents a single-centre observational retrospective study that consecutively collected symptomatic patients with severe aortic stenosis between September 2009 and February 2021 at the Magna Graecia University (Catanzaro, Italy). Our aim was to evaluate the rate of complications which can occur after Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and its possible predictors. Methods We included a total of 346 consecutive patients, admitted to our institution between September 2009 and February 2021. Inclusion criteria were: severe aortic stenosis in high-risk patients unsuitable for surgery after cardiac team consent, valve anatomy adjusted according to device instructions for use, life expectancy> 1 year. Clinical, echocardiographic and procedural data were collected and reported in an electronic database. Surgical risk was prospectively assessed using the European Cardiac Operational Risk Assessment System (EuroSCORE II, https://www.euros core.org/calc.html). The mean age of the population was 80.3 ± 5.4 years; 144 patients (41.6%) were male. The average EuroSCORE II was 6.3 ± 5.7. All reported P-values are two-sided and P-values <0.05 were considered significant. STATA (StataCorp, USA) was used for data analysis. Results Out of the total population analysed, the number of patients who underwent a vascular complication was 23 or 6.6%. Female sex was an independent predictor of vascular complication (P 0.015) regardless of the presence of peripheral vascular disease (OR 3.73; 95% CI 1.20–11.5), while no correlation was found with BSA. The number of patients experiencing severe bleeding and/or need for transfusion was 85 or 24.6% of the total. Mean baseline haemoglobin values were 12.1 g/dL ± 1.7 with lower mean values reported during hospitalization of 9.2 g/dL ± 1.4 (P <0.001), while predicted values at discharge were 9.8 g/dL ± 1.2. The pre and post procedural PR interval value was 171.1 ± 33.6 ms vs. 193.3 ± 35.7 ms (P <0.001) (Figure 2). The pre-procedural QRS interval value was 95.0 ± 21.7, the post-procedural mean value was 115.4 ± 26.5 (P <0.001). The number of patients with QRS> 120 ms after the procedure was 92 (26.5%). Out of the total number of patients analysed, the number of subjects who required PM implantation was 77 patients, i.e. 22.3% of the total. Of these, 25 patients (32.4%), Evolut R 45 patients (58.6%) and Sapien 7 patients (9.0%) had received implants. The need for pacemaker implantation did not affect the average length of stay (P 0.5). Conclusions Since its advent, the transfemoral aortic valve prosthesis implant has experienced impressive and continuous growth, radically revolutionizing the treatment of symptomatic severe aortic stenosis. Furthermore, the clear improvement of the procedural safety and efficacy profiles, due on the one hand to the technological evolution of the devices, of the introduction and release systems and of the experience of the operators, has reduced the number of complications related to the implant and improved the management of the same.

During the current pandemic, almost everything we need, both primary and secondary, we can fulfill from online services. In the era of globalization and the ease of online shopping transactions can lead to consumptive behavior, especially considering the current situation in the corona virus crisis, where consumer behavior has begun to change drastically. This study used Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis with the WarpPLS approach, to predict the magnitude of the relationship among latent variables and between latent variable and its indicator. The dominant variables in the research on the effect of purchase intention of processed apple products at Shopee are trust, online shopping attitudes, subjective norms and purchase intentions. Trust in product purchase intention produces a path coefficient of 0.320 with a confidence interval value [0.160;0.481]. The test results showed that the path coefficient was positive with a high significance level. Online shopping attitude on product purchase intention produces a path coefficient of 0.422 with a confidence interval value [0.261; 0.627], the path coefficient was positive with a high significance level so that this sub hypothesis can be accepted. Subjective norm on product purchase intention produces a path coefficient of 0.250 with a confidence interval value [0.104;0.397], the path coefficient was positive with a high significance level. Purchase intention on purchasing decisions produces a path coefficient of 0.509 with a confidence interval value [0.370; 0.648], the path coefficient was positive with a high significance level.

Background: Several methods have been reported for locating the conduction gap (CG) in the pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) ablation line. However, the value of the interval between far-field atrial potential (FFP) and pulmonary vein potential (PVP) remains unknown. Methods: Consecutive patients with a CG during observation on the table after PVI were included. The PVP, FFP, and the CG location were evaluated to develop a novel algorithm to identify the CG location in the left superior pulmonary vein. The performance of this novel algorithm was prospectively tested in a validation cohort of consecutive patients undergoing repeat PVI ablation. Results: A total of 116 patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) were recruited, 56 of whom formed the validation cohort. The interval between FFP and PVP of the left superior pulmonary vein was associated with the CG location, and an interval <5 ms predicted the presence of CG in the upper portion of the ostium with a sensitivity of 92.9% and a specificity of 96.9%. In the prospective evaluation, the interval was able to correctly predict the site of CG in 89.6% of cases. Conclusions: The interval between FFP and PVP is a novel and accurate index that can be used to predict the CG location in the left superior pulmonary vein. An far-field atrial potential and pulmonary vein potential (FFP–PVP) interval value of ≥5 ms could be used to exclude a CG in the upper portion of the ostium in the majority of patients undergoing AF ablation.

The article discusses the issues of logical inference for abnormal truth-values of premises in logics with vector semantics from the VTF-logic class. Such situations as strict lies, uncertainty, and complete contradiction are considered in this article. It is shown that the truth of the conclusion in this case can take an interval value and the nature of this interval is preserved throughout the inference. This feature can be used to detect knowledge base artefacts during dynamic verification of knowledge bases.

Attribute selection in an information system (IS) is an important issue when dealing with a large amount of data. An IS with incomplete interval-value data is called an incomplete interval-valued information system (IIVIS). This paper proposes attribute selection approaches for an IIVIS. Firstly, the similarity degree between two information values of a given attribute in an IIVIS is proposed. Then, the tolerance relation on the object set with respect to a given attribute subset is obtained. Next, θ-reduction in an IIVIS is studied. What is more, connections between the proposed reduction and information entropy are revealed. Lastly, three reduction algorithms base on θ-discernibility matrix, θ-information entropy and θ-significance in an IIVIS are given.

Abstract. Lightning properties of a total of 1174 negative downward lightning flashes are analyzed. The high-speed video recordings are taken in different regions around the world, including Austria, Brazil, South Africa and USA, and are analyzed in terms of flash multiplicity, duration, interstroke intervals and ground strike point (GSP) properties. Although the results vary among the data sets, the analysis reveals that a third of the flashes are single-stroke events, while the overall mean number of strokes per flash equals 3.67. From the video imagery an average of 1.56 GSPs per flash is derived, with about 60 % of the multiple stroke flashes striking ground in more than one place. It follows that the channel creating a GSP is re-used by a factor of 2.3. Multiple-stroke flashes last on average 371 ms, whereas the geometric mean (GM) interstroke interval value preceding strokes producing a new GSP is about 18 % greater than the GM value preceding subsequent strokes following a pre-existing channel. In addition, a positive correlation between the duration and multiplicity of the flash is presented. The characteristics of the subset of flashes exhibiting multiple GSPs is further examined. It follows that strokes with stroke order of two create a new GSP in 60 % of the cases, while this percentage quickly drops for higher order strokes. Further, the possibility to form a new channel to ground in terms of the number of strokes that conditioned the previous channel shows that approximately 88 % developed after the occurrence of only one stroke. Investigating the time intervals in the other 12 % of the cases when two or more strokes re-used the previous channel showed that the average interstroke time interval preceding a new channel is found to be more than twice the time difference between strokes that follow the previous channel.
