Abstract. The paper considers an electromechanical surfacing technique of parts’ work surfaces. It was found out that depending on strain temperature, rate and degree there were special type structures formed on a surface layer with a phase change (a bright layer), i.e. a hot deformed structure with and without recrystallization and a cold deformed structure. Depending on the original structure and hardening conditions, during surfacing of parts a thickness of this area may achieve 0.3 mm max. Impact of steel electromechanical treatment on the structure and the surface layer was found out. Depending on properties of surfaces being treated it is possible to use plate-like and roller-type tools for electromechanical hardening. It was shown that roller- type tools possessed enhanced durability and enlarged areas of surfaces being treated, though ensured poorer finish of surfaces being treated.

Positive mental health is a complex construct that is related to the optimal functioning of the person. It comprises a set of qualities aimed at the development of the individual's potential. The Positive Mental Health Scale is one of the most used instruments to evaluate it, however, the antecedents indicate inconsistencies regarding its internal structure. The objective of this study was to analyze the psychometric properties of the Positive Mental Health Scale in Arequipa-Peru. 3,933 people participated, 50.3% were women and 49.7% were men, including from adolescents to the elderly. The evaluation by CFA of the original structure showed poor fit indices, so the dimensionality had to be evaluated and a new structure had to be proposed. For which the sample is divided (n1 = 1,966 and n2 = 1,967). In the first, an EFA was applied and in the second, it is validated by means of a CFA. Three factors were found and it is concluded that it has a good fit (χ2 (431) = 2,473.378; CFI = .959; TLI = .956, RMSEA = .049; SRMR = .051). The internal consistency showed values greater than .81. Finally, the equivalence of the measurement according to sex was evaluated, finding that the instrument presents measurement invariance.

This chapter traces the evolution of cybersecurity skills requirements and development over the past 40 years, from the early days of computer security (Compusec) to the present day. The development of cybersecurity skills is traced from an initial focus upon national security and confidentiality through to the current recognition as business driver. The main part of the chapter concentrates on the development of a specific skills framework from the Institute of Information Security Professionals. Originally conceived in 2006 and initially used for purposes of membership accreditation, the IISP Skills Framework has since been used extensively by commerce, industry, government and academia in the UK and more widely. Version 2 of the framework was published in 2016, and the chapter discussion outlines both the original structure and the notable changes in the later release. These developments collectively illustrate the ongoing recognition of cybersecurity skills, as well as the evolution of the skills themselves.

Abstract This paper present outside strengthening with precast substructures, is a relatively new retrofitting approach that has recently attracted the attention of researchers. Outside strengthening with precast substructure, in contrast to member-level strengthening technologies (e.g., FRP strengthening, enlarging member section areas, and replacing rebars), is a structure-system reinforcement method that integrates the substructure and the original structure, improves overall seismic performance, and changes the deformation mode of the entire structure. The seismic capability of the exterior strengthening with precast bolt-connected steel-plate reinforced concrete is critically evaluated in this paper (PBSPC) Case studies are used to demonstrate the working principles, numerical methodologies, and design approaches. The simulation results were similar with prior studies, demonstrating that the numerical model was effective. The use of building steel representations reduces construction time, increases efficiency, and lowers costs. The goal of this technology is to lower the seismic displacement demand of nonductile. Current RC structures have steel frames connecting to the building floors. These frameworks run parallel to the structure of the building. Ganjan Life City, a building in Erbil, Iraq, is being used as a case study. The ISC 2017 and ASCE 7-10 earthquake codes were used to evaluate the building’s seismic performance before and after the reinforcement. The analysis’ findings suggest that the recommended technique is correct.

Technological advancements have aided in the expansion of a languages vocabulary through the addition of new items. Naming items can be accomplished during the translation process by constructing a diverse structure of neologisms. The purpose of this study was to analyse the results of technical term translations from English to Arabic in the field of Information Technology (IT) and to ascertain the frequency with which Arabic neologisms are published as a result of the process. Additionally, the study identified factors that influence the formation of neologisms through the translation process of translators. The study analysed data from the ProZ.com website regarding IT terms. The data were analysed by dividing the source term into a variety of neologism structures, such as derivatives, blended, compound, and acronym. The research was conducted using al-Sihabis theoretical framework for word formation, which classified word formation into two categories: Morphological Neologism, which refers to the process of word development, and Loan Neologism, which refers to the process of converting foreign language words to Arabic. The findings indicate that ProZ.com translators took one of two approaches to the formation of Arabic neologism: they either altered the original structure of the source term or preserved it as the structure of Arabic neologism. Nonetheless, 44% of the data wereconverted to compound form. While the majority of other neological structures are derived from the original structure of the source language. The structure of such neologisms is shaped by the translators translation process. Translators frequently translate data literally in order to preserve the source language neologism in its original form, according to studies. However, 25% of data were translated using descriptive and functional equivalence, while 13.1% of data were translated using the Arabization process, which converts source language terms that lack an Arabic equivalent.

Structural analysis of dexrazoxane, as a cardioprotective agent, was done in this work by exploring formations of tautomeric conformations and investigating the corresponding effects. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to optimize the structures to evaluate their molecular and atomic descriptors. In addition to the original structure of dexrazoxane, eight tautomers were obtained with lower stability than the original compound. Movements of two hydrogen atoms in between nitrogen and oxygen atoms of heterocyclic ring put such significant effects. Moreover, electronic molecular orbital features showed effects of such tautomerism processes on distribution patterns and surfaces, in which evaluating the quadrupole coupling constants helped to show the role of atomic sites for resulting the features. As a consequence, the results indicated that the tautomeric formations could significantly change the features of dexrazoxane reminding the importance of carful medication of this drug for patients.

Objectives: The healing process of a bone fracture goes through many phases. The hard callus phase was critical where the original structure was conducted. The hard callus growth depends on osteoblasts and osteoclasts active, and this condition can be analyzed on the radiograph. This study aimed to examine the analysis of bone fracture healing between osteoblasts and osteoclast numbers and radiographic patterns. Materials and Methods: The study used 12 male Wistar rats with an incomplete fracture in the right femur made by a dental tapered bur with 0.3 mm in length and 0.2 mm in depth. Digital radiographic examinations were carried out on days 0, 5, 10, 17, and 25 after fracturing in a lateral position. Furthermore, a radiographic analysis was performed using Image-J to obtain changes in the value of length and depth in the healing area. The research was conducted to find the radiopaque and radiolucent patterns and the number of osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Results: This study resulted in a change in the radiograph pattern. Callus formation resulted in fracture areas with a smaller distance from day 0 to day 25. The bone healing process begins with granulation tissue formation, followed by the gradual replacement of the connective tissue and bone. This process is comparable to the increase in osteoblasts up to day 25, which blocks bone resorption. Osteoclasts regulate bone resorption, and their number increases after 10 and 17 days to replace bone formation. Osteoclasts decline after 25 days because osteoblasts inhibit them, which control bone formation. Conclusion: The conclusions were obtained there are changes in the radiograph pattern. The radiopaque increased while the radiolucent decreased; the osteoclast pattern tended to be stable and lowered while the osteoblasts increased during the fracture healing process. The correlation of all the factors is very closely related.

Mesoporous Cu-Ni/Al2O4 catalyst of high surface area (176 m2g−1) is synthesized through a simple hydrothermal reconstruction process by using low-cost activated alumina as the aluminate source without organic templates. The desired mesoporous structure of the catalyst is formed by the addition of Cu2+ and Ni2+ metal ions in the gel solution of the activated alumina followed by hydrothermal treatment at 70 °C and calcination at temperatures in the range of 600 to 800 °C. To consider the environmental concern, we found the concentration of the Cu2+ and Ni2+ ion in the residual filtrate is less than 0.1 ppm which satisfies the effluent standard in Taiwan (<1.0 ppm). The effects of the pH value, hydrothermal treatment time, and calcination temperature on the structure, morphology and surface area of the synthesized Cu-Ni/Al2O4 composites are investigated as well. In addition, the Cu-Ni/Al2O4 catalyst synthesized at pH 9.0 with a hydrothermal treatment time of 24 h and a calcination temperature of 600 °C is used for hydrogen production via the partial oxidation of methanol. The conversion efficiency is found to be >99% at a reaction temperature of around 315 °C, while the H2 yield is 1.99 mol H2/mol MeOH. The catalyst retains its original structure and surface area following the reaction process, and is thus inferred to have a good stability. Overall, the hydrothermal reconstruction route described herein is facile and easily extendable to the preparation of other mesoporous metal-alumina materials for catalyst applications.

Abstract Lightweight materials with high electrical conductivity and hydrophobic mechanical properties are ideal materials for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. Herein, the conductive composites with great EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) were successfully obtained by introducing multi-walled carbon nanotube (CNT) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) based on the original structure of natural wood (NW). CNT@PDMS/NW composites were prepared via vacuum-pulse impregnation method and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, hydrophobicity analysis, and EMI shielding performance. As demonstrated, CNT nanosheets were successfully inserted into wood matrices, and hydrogen bonding between CNT nanosheets and cellulose nanofibers induced the fabrication of CNT@PDMS/NW composites. CNT@PDMS/NW composites exhibited excellent EMI SE values of 25.2 dB at the X-band frequency.

Bone injuries and fractures reliably heal through a process of regeneration with restoration to original structure and function when the gap between adjacent sides of a fracture site is small. However, when there is significant volumetric loss of bone, bone regeneration usually does not occur. In the present studies, we explore a particular case of volumetric bone loss in a mouse model of human periodontal disease (PD) in which alveolar bone surrounding teeth is permanently lost and not replaced. This model employs the placement a ligature around the upper second molar which leads to inflammation and bone breakdown and faithfully replicates the bacterially-induced inflammatory etiology of human PD to induce bone degeneration. After 10 days, the ligature is removed and the mice are treated with a timed-release formulation of a small molecule inhibitor of prolylhydroxylases (PHDi; 1,4-DPCA) previously shown to induce epimorphic regeneration of soft tissue in non-regenerating mice. This PHDi induces high expression of HIF-1α and the regenerative response is completely blocked by siHIF1a. Here, we observe that timed-release 1,4-DPCA rapidly and completely restores bone and soft tissue with normal anatomic fidelity and with increased stem cell markers due to stem cell migration into the site and/or de-differentiation of local tissue, PDL cell proliferation, and increased vascularization. In-vitro studies using gingival tissue show that 1,4-DPCA indeed induces de-differentiation and the expression of stem cell markers but does not exclude the role of migrating stem cells.
