The aim was to verify the association between food insecurity (FI) and food consumption of elderly people assisted by a Family Health Strategy (FHE). Sixteen elderly people, of both sexes, with a mean age of 69.13 years and BMI of 29.23 kg/m2 were evaluated. The Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale, food frequency questionnaire and 24-hour food recall were used. Weight and height were taken from the patients' records. It was observed that 37.5% of the elderly were in mild AI, 31.25% in moderate AI, 18.75% in severe AI and only 12.5% in food security. Individuals do not consume skimmed milk and have frequent intake of eggs, sausages, margarine, refined cereals, industrialized beverages, sweets and candies. And little or no use of olive oil and whole grains. No significant association between AI and food consumption. It is concluded that there was no association between food insecurity and food consumption in elderly people assisted by an ESF.

There is a growing concern about the multi-resistant capabilities presented by microorganisms to antimicrobials. Society is harmed by the redirection of financial resources from other areas, also lacking the population, to purchase more potent antimicrobials and in larger quantities. This study describes the consumption of antimicrobial drugs and their impact generated through a systematic review, following the recommendations of the Prisma method. Searches were performed in four databases (Portal BVS, PubMed, Embase and Science Direct). A total of 196 articles were found, 11 of which were selected after applying the eligibility criteria. A prospective study showed that the difference in expenditures can reach $31.17 patients/day between prophylactics and those with nosocomial infections. Studies have shown that the increase in costs is related to the increase in the length of stay. Mortality and admission to the ICU also increased. Further studies with high levels of evidence are recommended.

Mental and behavioral disorders are influenced by a combination of factors that affect an individual's emotional balance and affect people of all ages, sex and social classes, although each group has its specificities. The present study aims to determine the prevalence of hospitalizations caused by Mental and Behavioral Disorders (CMD), considering an age group, gender and an ICD-10 morbidity list in the State of São Paulo between the years 2017 to 2020. This research was an ecological study on the prevalence of cases of mental and commercial disorders in the State of São Paulo. Data were collected on the DATASUS platform, where the number of admissions according to gender, age and ICD-10 morbidity list in the 2017-2020 period were surveyed. The results obtained revealed a growing increase in CMD cases in the state, especially from 2018 to 2019 with a subsequent fall in 2020, with, from 2017 to 2020, approximately 58.81% prevalence of CMD in sex and approximately 41.19% prevalence in sex female, mainly affecting people aged 30 to 39 years, higher prevalence of mood in females (67.18%) and CMD due to alcohol use in females (87.89%). It is concluded that amidst the pandemic against COVID-19, several patients considered without a diagnosis of Mental and Behavioral Disorders, because of this, it is possible that after the pandemic there are a greater number than expected of patients with more advanced conditions due to the absence of an early diagnosis.

Marfan syndrome (MFS) is a rare autosomal dominant metabolic disorder, caused by mutations in the gene responsible for coding the fibrillin-1 protein. It is characterized by cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and ocular manifestations. The purpose of this report was to present a rare ophthalmologic complication in a patient with MFS. Female, 51 years old, attended the emergency room complaining of severe pain, low visual acuity and hyperemia in the right eye, started two days before. Biomicroscopy: ectopia lentis (luxated) for anterior chamber; Tonometry: 56 mmHg. Hypotensive drugs were prescribed which reduced intraocular pressure (IOP) to 8 mmHg. Referred for emergency surgery (facectomy without IOL implantation) in order to avoid further damage to the cornea and optic nerve. In the post operative period, presented IOP control and improved VA to 20/50. Multidisciplinary follow-up is necessary in patients with MFS, enabling early diagnosis, which can prevent and minimize any complications.

Leprosy is a chronic, infectious disease transmitted through the inhalation of aerosols containing Mycobacterium leprae. The present study was carried out to investigate the epidemiological profile of leprosy in Brazil between 2015 and 2019, evaluating the prevalence rate of hospital admissions, incidence rate, number of admissions due to recurrence and mortality rates. It is an ecological study conducted from data collected in information systems available at the Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS). In the considered time interval, a slight improvement in the investigated health indicators was evidenced. It is possible to infer that the country carried out an adequate management of leprosy between 2015 and 2019, probably because of good prophylactic actions, good interventions and efficient awareness of those infected.

In a scenario of structural intervention situation, the On-Scene Commanders (COS) only have at their disposal the data provided by the one who gave the alert, which are insufficient to provide a secure and informed decision-making. Through a quantitative, descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional research, using a questionnaire applied to operational staff who perform the COS function, results a survey of the COS information needs. According to the results, it is concluded that the purpose of knowing the risks and outlining a more effective, faster and safer combat strategy for operational personnel involved, could be compromised by the limited information available. A proposal for a new support tool for COS function - the Initial Intervention Plan (PII) - was developed, which is a document of quick and intuitive consultation, supplying the needs of information for COS.
