PERBANDINGAN PENYELESAIN RUANG PADA KAMAR HOTEL YANG BERDIMENSI KECIL

<strong>Abstract</strong><br />The rise of tourist attractions in Bandung has triggered an increase in the number of hotel rooms. However, the density of development makes the availability of land in the city of Bandung to be limited, so some hotels have rooms with dimensions below the standard government proposals to be able to accommodate as many guests as possible.<br />This should be considered by hotel managers so that the limitations of this dimension do not reduce guests’ comfort. Therefore, this study aims to look for interior strategies that are applied to small dimension hotel rooms that can facilitate guest needs without sacrificing the comfort side. This research was carried out by a mixed method which included quantitative measurement of dimensions and qualitative observations of three<br />hotels in Bandung that were used as research objects, namely Yello Hotel, Kollektiv Hotel, and Summerbird Bed and Brasserie. The results of this study indicate a strategic solution that can be applied to small-sized rooms through processing the use of materials, colors and compact concepts on furniture.<br /><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><strong>Abstrak</strong><br />Meningkatnya objek wisata di kota Bandung memicu meningkatnya jumlah<br />kamar hotel. Namun, padatnya pembangunan membuat ketersediaan lahan di Kota Bandung menjadi terbatas, sehingga beberapa hotel memiliki kamar dengan dimensi di bawah standar usulan pemerintah agar mampu menampung tamu sebanyak-banyaknya. Hal ini perlu diperhatikan oleh pengelola hotel agar keterbatasan dimensi tersebut tidak mengurangi kenyamanan bagi para tamu.<br />Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari startegi-strategi interior yang diterapkan pada kamar hotel berdimensi kecil yang dapat memfasilitasi kebutuhan para tamu tanpa mengorbankan sisi kenyamanannya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode campuran yang meliputi pengukuran kuantitatif tentang dimensi dan pengamatan kualitatif terhadap tiga hotel di Kota Bandung yang dijadikan objek studi, yaitu Yello Hotel, Kollektiv Hotel, dan Summerbird<br />Bed and Brasserie. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan solusi strategi yang dapat diterapkan pada kamar berukuran kecil melalui pengolahan penggunaan material, warna dan konsep compact pada furnitur.<br /><br />

INOVASI INKREMENTAL SEBAGAI STRATEGI & KEUNGGULAN DAYA SAING DI INDUSTRI FURNITURE VIETNAM (STUDI KASUS: FULL IN INDUSTRIAL, CO., LTD)

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />US-China trading wars has brought positive impact to the growth of Vietnam furniture industry, due to supplier shifts or factory relocation. Many factories benefit with the increased number of purchase orders, but some suffer with stagnancy or even loss. Price, design, quality, finishing, and other factors all play significant roles in determining a factory’s performance. Full In as a research partner, have been running in only 1/3<br />of the production capacity, consequently for its 20 percent higher price compared to competitors with similar products, and for too ordinary designs. Cheap is not always the best strategy. Design approaches (material replacement and appearance change) and strategies (reissue iconic furniture, develop American aesthetic preference furniture,<br />develop refreshed contemporary furniture) are ways to mark Full In’s competitive advantage. Taking advantage of the trade momentum, and by collaboration with UPH research team, there are 8 new designs that will be exhibited in Vietnam International Furniture Fair 2020. In hope, good design may attract customers who afford higher prices; Full In has competitive advantage compared to other competitors.</p><p><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />Adanya perang dagang US-China memberikan dampak positif bagi<br />pertumbuhan industri furniture di Vietnam karena perpindahan supplier atau relokasi pabrik. Banyak pabrik mengalami peningkatan purchase order, tetapi ada juga yang stagnan atau justru menurun. Harga, desain, kualitas, finishing, dan faktor lainnya semua saling terkait menentukan performa sebuah pabrik. Full In sebagai mitra penelitian hanya mampu berjalan 1/3 dari kapasitas produksi seharusnya karena harga 20% lebih mahal dari kompetitor dengan produk serupa dan desain yang cenderung menduplikasi. Murah tidak selalu adalah strategi terbaik. Desain dengan pendekatan mengganti material dan penampilan; strategi merilis kembali produk ikon, mengembangkan produk dengan gaya Amerika dan sentuhan kontemporer merupakan strategi dan keunggulan desain yang diaplikasikan untuk Full In. Memanfaatkan momentum dagang dan lewat kolaborasi dengan tim peneliti UPH, ada 8 desain baru yang akan dipamerkan pada Vietnam International Furniture Fair premium, Full In memiliki keunggulan daya saing dibanding kompetitor lainnya.<br /><br /><br /></p>

ORNAMEN ISLAM PADA BANGUNAN ARSITEKTUR MASJID DIAN AL MAHRI KUBAH EMAS DEPOK

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />In the teachings of Islam the sources of the Qur’an and the Hadith are basically no rules governing the building of the Mosque other than the terms of the place that can be used in performing the Prayer, but on the other hand many Mosques are adaptive in the form of ornaments. as well as local value systems. The form of ornament that is a decorative<br />element of a building is often directly related to the times and culture of the community. In terms of the ornament of the Mosque does not escape the Islamic law that is found in the Hadith and the Quran. This is the focus of this study. The method used is a descriptive qualitative beginning of the field. The results show that the shape of the ornament in the Dian Al Mahri Mosque is no indication of the animal ornament, so the ornamentation of the Mosque is acceptable to Muslims especially in Jakarta and its surroundings.<br /><br /><strong>Abstrak </strong></p><p><strong></strong>Di dalam ajaran agama Islam yang bersumberkan Al Qur’an dan Hadist pada dasarnya tidak terdapat aturan yang secara langsung mengatur mengenai bangunan Masjid selain syarat-syarat tempat yang dapat dipakai dalam melaksanakan Sholat, namun di sisi lain banyak Masjid yang bersifat adaptif dengan memasukkan bentuk ornamen serta sistem nilai setempat (lokal). Bentuk ornamen yang merupakan elemen dekorasi pada suatu bangunan sering kali berkaitan langsung dengan zaman dan budaya masyarakat. Dalam hal ornamen pada Masjid tidak lepas dari hukum Islam yang tertuang dalam Hadis dan Al Quran. Hal demikianlah yang menjadi pusat perhatian dalam penelitian ini.<br />Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif yang dimulai dari lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk ornamen pada bangunan Masjid Dian Al Mahri tidak terdapat indikasi yang menunjukkan ornamen binatang, sehingga ornamentasi pada Masjid tersebut dapat diterima oleh umat muslim terutama di Jakarta dan sekitarnya.<br /><br /></p>

ANALISIS PERSEPSI KONSUMEN UNTUK STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN PRODUK SARUNG DI IKM SARUNG MAJALAYA

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />The Majalaya textile industry, at Bandung Regency, is a textile centre prepared by the government as a national textile centre to meet clothing needs. This industry was able to develop and experience its heyday in the 1960s. At that time, this region was able to produce 40% of the total fabric production in Indonesia. Sarong, as its main product, was very popular throughout Indonesia and several other countries in Asia. But the<br />crisis that occurred in 1998 had a major impact on the textile industry in Majalaya. Many textile entrepreneurs are forced to close their production sites because of the declining purchasing power of the people and also the increasing cost of raw material for production. Only a handful of Majalaya sarong entrepreneurs have survived until now. In the midst of their efforts to survive, the problem that occurs at this time is the onslaught of imported textiles that flooded the market which impacted the sale of<br />Majalaya sarongs falling dramatically.These problems must be overcome with the aim of returning the Majalaya textile industry as the people’s economic power. Design in relation to this is aimed at producing products that are interested in consumers. Design is an important aspect of product development, also as one of the main criteria in the product selection process by buyers. To produce an interesting product it is necessary<br />to analyze consumer perceptions. The purpose is to know what aspects that affect consumer interest in buying products. These can be applied as a strategy for developing a product of Majalaya sarong. The survey method using a questionnaire to Majalaya sarong consumers can be done to determine consumer perceptions of Majalaya sarong products. By analyzing consumer perceptions, producers can develop a Majalaya sarong<br />product design strategy that suits consumer interest.</p><p> </p><p><br /><strong>Abstrak </strong><br />Industri tekstil Majalaya, di Kabupaten Bandung, merupakan sentra tekstil yang disiapkan pemerintah sebagai pusat tekstil nasional guna memenuhi kebutuhan sandang. Industri ini mampu berkembang dan mengalami puncak kejayaannya pada tahun 1960-an. Saat itu, wilayah ini mampu memproduksi 40% dari total produksi kain di Indonesia. Sarung, sebagai produk utamanya, sangat popular di seluruh Indonesia serta beberapa Negara di Asia. Namun krisis yang terjadi pada tahun 1998 berdampak besar bagi industri tekstil di Majalaya. Banyak pengusaha tekstil yang terpaksa menutup tempat produksinya karena daya beli masyarakat yang menurun dan juga kenaikan biaya bahan baku produksi. Hanya segelintir pengusaha sarung Majalaya yang masih bertahan menjalankan usahanya hingga sekarang. Di tengah usahanya untuk bertahan, permasalahan yang juga dialami pengusaha tekstil Majalaya saat ini adalah gempuran tekstil impor yang membanjiri pasar yang mengakibatkan penjualan sarung Majalaya turun drastis.Permasalahan yang dialami industri tekstil Majalaya tersebut harus diatasi dengan tujuan untuk mengembalikan industri tekstil Majalaya sebagai penggerak ekonomi rakyat. Peran desain dalam kaitannya dengan hal ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk yang diminati masyarakat. Desain merupakan aspek yang penting bagi pengembangan produk, juga sebagai salah satu kriteria utama dalam proses pemilihan produk oleh pembeli. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk menghasilkan produk yang diminati adalah dengan menganalisis persepsi konsumen. Hal ini dilakukan karena tujuan dari analisis persepsi konsumen adalah untuk mengetahui aspek-aspek apa saja yang mempengaruhi minat konsumen untuk membeli produk. Aspek-aspek tersebut dapat diterapkan sebagai strategi untuk pengembangan produk sarung Majalaya. Metode survey dengan menggunakan kuisioner kepada konsumen sarung Majalaya dapat dilakukan untuk mengetahui persepsi konsumen terhadap produk sarung Majalaya. Dengan menganalisis persepsi konsumen, maka produsen dapat membuat strategi desain produk sarung Majalaya yang sesuai dengan minat konsumen.</p>

PENGGUNAAN DESIGN THINKING DALAM PENGEMBANGAN PRODUK KERAJINAN IKM (Studi Kasus: Sentra Kerajinan Patung Kayu, Subang)

Collaboration between craftsmen and product designers is one of the solutions for sustainable development of IKM products. Craftsmen need to be introduced to the creative process in producing new products. One that can be applied is Design Thinking. This process is considered in accordance with the way the craftsman works which generally "learning by doing" and not theoretical. Design Thinking process introduced in a workshop activity. The process of finding ideas begins by stimulating empathy to produce new ideas that are different from what they have been doing so far. Through this workshop several solutions were produced in the form of prototypes. This activity also produces a better work pattern that is more creative and productive in generating new ideas. The usage of story-telling in expressing ideas or thoughts is also preferebly and effective as a medium of discussion among craftsmen. Abstrak Kolaborasi antara perajin dan desainer produk merupakan salah satu Perajin perlu dikenalkan pada .Proses ini merupakan alat pemecahan masalah yang berpusat pada manusia, menekankan kolaborasi dan spontanitas. Proses ini dianggap sesuai dengan pola kerja perajin yang umumnya “learning by doing”, praktis dan bukan teoritis. Proses pencarian ide dimulai dengan merangsang empati untuk menghasilkan ide baru yang berbeda dari yang selama ini dihasilkan. Melalui workshop ini, dihasilkan beberapa solusi dalam bentuk prototype produk baru. Kegiatan ini juga menghasilkan sebuah pola kerja yang lebih baik, kreatif dan produktif dalam mewujudkan ide. Metode bercerita dalam mengutarakan ide atau pikiran juga lebih digemari dan efektif sebagai media diskusi diantara para perajin.

BUKU DIGITAL SEBAGAI SOLUSI ALTERNATIF UNTUK MENGURANGI DAMPAK NEGATIF INDUSTRI BUKU INDONESIA PADA LINGKUNGAN

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />Digital Books as alternative solutions to reduce the negative impact of the Indonesian publishing Industry on the environment. The Indonesian publishing industry which continues to grow are feared to bring negative impacts to the environment. This study was conducted using qualitative method susing articles and books as the main data sources, as well as observations and interviews. This research aims to find out whether<br />the book industry really does have a negative impact on the environment, and how to use digital books as an alternative solution to reduce these impacts.</p><p> </p><p><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br />Buku digital sebagai solusi alternatif untuk mengurangi dampak negatif<br />industri buku Indonesia pada lingkungan. KRITIK FOTOGRAFI: MENDESKRIPSIKAN SEBUAH FOTO DARI SISI SUBJEK, BENTUK, MEDIA DAN GAYA

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />In the formal education of bachelor photography, the knowledge and ability to criticize a photo is fundamental, this is what distinguishes bachelor photography from photography courses, the ability to criticize a photo with the aim of defining photos, interpreting photographs, explanations aesthetic or aesthetic argumentation. Referring to Terry Barrett’s writing about photo criticism, there are several stages to criticizing<br />or interpreting a photo, namely: Describing photos, interpreting photos and evaluating photos. As an initial step, it will be explained about describing a photo. How to start describing a photo, what are the elements that can be described in a photo and how to be able to describe a photo based on the actual facts. Descriptive information includes statements about the subject matters of the photo, the media used, forms of design<br />elements, the surrounding environment, including information about the photographer who made the photo, time of photo taking, issues and social phenomena that were popular when taking photos. Describing a photo is the first approach that can be used to analyze a photo.</p><p><br /><strong>Abstrak </strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />Dalam keilmuan formal fotografi jenjang strata-1, pengetahuan dan kemapuan untuk mengkritik sebuah foto menjadi hal yang fundamental, hal ini yang membedakan keilmuan fotografi strata-1 dengan kursus fotografi, yaitu kemampuan untuk mengkritisi sebuah foto dengan tujuan untuk mendefinikan foto, menginterpretasi foto, penjelasan estetik maupun argumentasi estetik. Mengacu pada tulisan Terry Barret mengenai kritik foto, ada beberapa tahapan untuk mengkritisi atau memaknai sebuah foto yaitu: Mendeskripsikan foto, Menginterpretasi foto dan mengevaluasi foto. Sebagai tahap awal akan dipaparkan mengenai mendeskripsikan sebuah foto. Bagaimana memulai mendeskrisikan sebuah foto, apa saja elemen yang dapat dideskripsikan dalam<br />sebuah foto dab bagaimana caranya agar dapat mendeskrisikan foto sesuai dengan fakta yang sebenarnya. Informasi deskriptif meliputi pernyataan tentang subject matters foto tersebut, media yang digunakan, bentuk-bentuk elemen design, lingkungan sekitar, termasuk informasi tentang fotografer yang membuat foto tersebut, waktu pengambilan foto, issue dan gejala sosial yang popular saat waktu pengambilan foto. ANALISIS KETERKAITAN RAGAM TEKNIK UKIR TATAH TEMBAGA TERHADAP KEMUNGKINAN BENTUK YANG DIHASILKAN DALAM PERTIMBANGAN DESAIN

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p><strong></strong><br />Copper handicrafts made by craftsmen in Tumang village, Boyolali Regency, are well known in various cities on Java. it is inseparable from the process and manufacturing techniques that continue to be maintained, that is forging and carving techniques.<br />The design results of the craft products made tends to use traditional design style, and require a long time for the making. The purpose of this research is to produce a new design form with a simpler carving pattern and allow for a faster production process time. The simplification of the production process allows the making of products with more quantity. The main research method used is direct observation of the process of<br />making carvings by metal carving experts at craft centers. The results of this new design form can accelerate the production process because it can be made without going through a forging process.</p><p><br /><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br />Kerajinan tembaga yang dibuat oleh para pengrajin di desa Tumang kabupaten Boyolali sudah cukup dikenal di berbagai kota di pulau Jawa. Hal tersebut tidak lepas dari proses dan teknik pembuatannya yang terus dipertahankan, yaitu teknik tempa dan teknik ukir. Hasil bentuk desain dari produk kerajinan yang dibuat lebih cenderung menggunakan gaya desain tradisional, dan membutuhkan waktu yang cukup lama dalam pembuatannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan bentuk design baru dengan bentuk pola ukir yang lebih sederhana dan memungkinkan waktu proses produksi yang lebih cepat. Penyederhanaan proses produksi memungkinkan menghasilkan produk dengan kuantitas lebih banyak. Metode utama penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi langsung terhadap proses pembuatan ukiran oleh ahli ukir logam di sentra kerajinan. Hasil bentuk desain baru inimempercepat proses produksi karena dapat dibuat tanpa melalui proses tempa.<br /><br /></p>

LIMBAH LOOM SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF MATERIAL MEBEL (Studi Kasus: PT House of Rattan & CV Property, Cirebon)

<strong>Abstract</strong><br />Furniture factories are one of Cirebon's economy boosters as they employ many workers and produce numerous products for local and export orientation. As a consequence, this industry produces quite a large amount of waste, one of them is paper loom. Loom is a woven paper threads and metal wires which is used to wrap a number of furniture components, such as seat, backrest, etc. Case studies in 2 major factories in Cirebon, total loom waste reaches around 3 tonnes a month. This research provides<br />recommendations of waste usage for furniture.<br /><div> </div><div> </div><strong>Abstrak</strong><br />Pabrik mebel merupakan salah satu penggerak ekonomi Cirebon, karena<br />menghasilkan lapangan pekerjaan baik untuk produk orientasi lokal ataupun ekspor. Sebagai konsekuensi, industri ini menghasilkan limbah produk, salah satunya adalah loom. Loom adalah kawat yang dibungkus kertas dan dianyam bersama sehingga menjadi gulungan bahan yang siap digunakan untuk berbagai komponen mebel seperti sandaran dan dudukan. Dengan studi kasus di 2 pabrik mebel di Cirebon, ada sekitar 3 ton sisa loom dalam sebulan. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi akan pemanfaatan sisa loom pada mebel.<br /><br />

DESAIN SIGNAGE YANG EFEKTIF UNTUK MENGHASILKAN WAYFINDING DAN ORIENTASI RUANG PADA PUBLIC SPACE (Studi Kasus : Interior Mall Senayan City)

This study, will discuss one form of<br />public space, that is the mall or shopping center. According to Book<br />, a good mall in addition must have the arrangement of facilities,<br />vertical arrangement and horizontal circulation, but also has a graphic environment in the form of signage and wayfinding that support the interior of the mall itself. The presence of signage and wayfinding one of them as directions. Visitors arrive from different locations, travel to different destinations, and for different reasons. For that,<br />signage and wayfinding is needed to convince visitors to get to the destination. In addition to be informative, signage planning and wayfinding as decorative elements should be designed attractive through combination of colors and shapes so that looks beautiful as visually but still pay attention to international regulations, especially for<br />safety signs.</p><p> </p><p><br /><strong>Abstrak</strong><br />Public space adalah sebuah ruang dimana semua orang memiliki hak yang<br />sama untuk mengaksesnya atau mengadakan berbagai kepentingan dan<br />kegiatan public. Pada umumnya ruang public adalah ruang terbuka yang<br />mampu menampung kebutuhan akan tempat-tempat pertemuan antar<br />manusia untuk saling berinteraksi. Pada penelitian ini, akan dibahas<br />mengenai salah satu bentuk public space, yaitu mall atau shopping center. Menurut Buku Indonesia Shopping Center, mall yang baik selain harus memiliki penataan fasilitas, penataan vertical dan horizontal circulation, tetapi juga memiliki graphic environment dalam bentuk signage dan wayfinding yang mendukung interior dari mall itu sendiri. Keberadaan signage dan wayfinding salah satunya sebagai petunjuk arah. Pengunjung berdatangan dari lokasi yang berbeda, berpergian ke tujuan yang berbeda, dan dengan alasan yang berbeda. Untuk itu signage dan wayfinding diperlukan untuk meyakinkan pengunjung agar dapat sampai ke tempat tujuan. Selain harus informative, perencanaan signage dan wayfinding sebagai unsur dekoratif harus didesain menarik melalui permainan bentuk dan warna sehingga cantik secara visual<br />namun tetap memperhatikan peraturan internasional terutama safety sign.<br /><br /></p>
