AbstractDistributed control systems (DCS) consist of process stations, operator stations, engineering stations and other elements, which all enable the exchange of data between industrial systems. Process stations are industrial controllers. They manage process control. Operator stations are used for visualisation and operator interactions. Engineering stations are designed for configuration, programming and executing control and visualisation software. Elements of the DCS system are connected by an industrial network. DCS must be properly designed, commissioned, used and operated. There is a human factor in each of these phases of the system’s existence. The article discusses software tools that increase human reliability in such a system, made in the visualisation package, i.e. the graphic environment used to visualize the process at the operator’s station.

Computational thinking and its skills are of interest for the educational field, as well as for the professional field, since the problem-solving ability supported by computer science becomes a necessary element for people living in the actual society. The aim of the investigation was two situations: to diagnose the level of computational thinking development in the students of the Instituto Tecnológico Superior “Sucre”, as well as to establish connections between the selected skills, such as spatial orientation, decision making, employment loops and elaboration of functions or subroutines for problem solving. For this purpose, a validated instrument was applied; it consists of 32 problems to solve in a graphic environment formed as follows: 4 questions about directions, 8 about defined and indefinite loops, 12 about conditional ones, 8 about functions and subroutines. The most important conclusions establish students’ strengths in relation to the use of management algorithms and loop jobs, similarly, difficulties in the use of conditions and use of subroutines were found. Besides, it establishes that there is a relationship between the development they have in the decision-making ability and other skills such as the use of repetition loops or the elaboration of subroutines, which is expressed in the students' difficulty in making a reasoned and logical decision at the time of solve a problem.

Abstract

Indonesia Shopping Center Keywords: public space, mall, signage, wayfinding In general, public space is an open space that can accommodate places of
inter-human meeting to interact with each other. This study, will discuss one form of
public space, that is the mall or shopping center. According to Book
, a good mall in addition must have the arrangement of facilities,
vertical arrangement and horizontal circulation, but also has a graphic environment in the form of signage and wayfinding that support the interior of the mall itself. The presence of signage and wayfinding one of them as directions. Visitors arrive from different locations, travel to different destinations, and for different reasons. For that,
signage and wayfinding is needed to convince visitors to get to the destination. In addition to be informative, signage planning and wayfinding as decorative elements should be designed attractive through combination of colors and shapes so that looks beautiful as visually but still pay attention to international regulations, especially for
safety signs.

The paper presents a new concept of creating a program for calculating ground subsidence caused by underground mining extraction, which is substantially different than previously used solutions. Instead of compiling the calculation algorithm to an executable file, the whole application algorithm has been written in the Bentley MicroStation graphic environment’s interpreted language. This graphic environment is used in mining for keeping mining maps and the format is used for storing finished and designed mining exploitation data sets. The paper describes S. Knothe’s theory of the influence of mining exploitation on the terrain surface in the context of the calculation methodology used for terrain subsidence computation. Based on the theory of influence, the structure of the created MVBA (MicroStation Visual Basic for Applications) algorithm for interpolating subsidence contours is described. The new application is called uDEFO. Calculation results from the program are compared with calculation results from software currently used in coal mines.
