Abstract The theoretical note deals with the problem of estimation of the value of the least number of objects in fuzzy clusters for following detection of the optimal number of objects in fuzzy clusters through heuristic possibilistic clustering. A technique for detecting the optimal maximal number of elements in the a priori unknown number of fuzzy clusters of the sought clustering structure is reminded and a procedure for finding the initial minimal value of the number of objects in fuzzy clusters is proposed. Numerical examples are considered and conclusions are formulated.

Abstract This Paper describes the simulator development for the Total Ionizing Dose (TID) measurement of radiation monitoring instrument. The TID Detector (UDOS001-micro dosimeter) is a compact hybrid microcircuit which directly measures Total Ionizing Dose absorbed by an internal silicon test mass. The developed detector simulator, simulates the equivalent Total Ionized Dose absorbed from the space radiation and Ground checkout simulator receive the data from Radiation monitoring Instrument through UART and process it for the functional verification of the Radiation monitoring Instrument, which is discussed in the paper.

Abstract The manuscript deals with the assessment of Radio over Fiber (RoF) system including pure electrical baseband, pure radio frequency band centered around 60 GHz, and hybrid radio-optical system at the same RF band using a global simulation. In this work we focus on RoF solution to improve the low coverage of the 60 GHz channel caused by high free-space attenuation. A realistic co-simulation of the Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) IEEE802.15.3c-RoF was performed in a residential environment for Line-Of-Sight (LOS) and Non-Line- Of-Sight (NLOS). In this work, we demonstrated a 60 GHz radio on Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) using Optical Carrier Suppression (OCS) modulation. The BER (Bit Error Ratio) performance of this system is measured by varying the following parameters: optical launched power, fiber length, modulation format, Channel coding and Signal to Noise Ratio. We show that the RoF at 60 GHz can reach a minimum of 300 m of MMF without optical amplifiers followed by a 5 m wireless transmission with BER less than 10-3 in the LOS and NLOS environments.

Abstract Circuits operating in the subthreshold region are synonymous to low energy operation. However, the penalty in performance is colossal. In this paper, we investigate how designing in moderate inversion region recuperates some of that lost performance, while remaining very near to the minimum energy point. An power based minimum energy delay modeling that is continuous over the weak, moderate, and strong inversion regions is presented. The value of α is obtained through interpolation following EKV model. The effect of supply voltage and device sizing on the minimum energy and performance is determined. The proposed model is utilized to design a temperature to time generator at 32nm technology node as the application of the proposed model. The abstract goes here.

Abstract WILGA annual symposium on advanced photonic and electronic systems has been organized by young scientist for young scientists since two decades. It traditionally gathers more than 350 young researchers and their tutors. Ph.D students and graduates present their recent achievements during well attended oral sessions. Wilga is a very good digest of Ph.D. works carried out at technical universities in electronics and photonics, as well as information sciences throughout Poland and some neighboring countries. Publishing patronage over Wilga keep Elektronika technical journal by SEP, IJET by PAN and Proceedings of SPIE. The latter world editorial series publishes annually more than 200 papers from Wilga. Wilga 2017 was the XL edition of this meeting. The following topical tracks were distinguished: photonics, electronics, information technologies and system research. The article is a digest of some chosen works presented during Wilga 2017 symposium. WILGA 2017 works were published in Proc. SPIE vol.10445.

Abstract In Mobile Ad-hoc Networks, nodes exchange packets with each other using intermediate nodes as relays. Since nodes in MANETs are battery powered, energy conservation is a crucial issue. Accepting relay all request may not be in the best interest of a node. But if many nodes prefer not to consume energy in relaying packets on behalf of others, the overall performance of routing in network will be influenced. In this paper we address the energy-efficient routing problem in MANETs with selfish nodes. We modeled this problem as a game-theoretic constraint optimization; we defined the utility of each node as a weighted difference between a performance metric and some transmission costs. A motivate mechanism is proposed in order to induce nodes to forwarding cooperation. Each node independently implements the optimal equilibrium strategy under the given constraints. Simulation results by NS3 simulator show that our proposed approach can improve system performance in network lifetime and packet delivery ratio.

Abstract The considered problem covers routing and spectrum allocation problem (RSA problem) in Elastic Optical Networks while maintaining the spectrum continuity constraints, non-overlapping spectra constraints for adjacent connections on individual links of the network and spectrum contiguity constraints of the connection. In this article the modified version of the First Fit spectrum slot allocation policy for Fixed Alternate Routing in flexible optical networks has been proposed. The Fixed Alternate Routing with proposed spectrum allocation policy rejects fewer requests, provides less bandwidth blocking probability and less spectrum fragmentation than Fixed Alternate Routing with well-known First Fit and Exact Fit spectrum allocation policies. However, the cost of improving these parameters is a higher computational complexity of the proposed allocation policy.

Abstract We have developed a unified analytical model for computation of 2D electron gas sheet charge density in AlInN/GaN metal-oxide-semiconductor high electron mobility transistor device structure. This model has been developed by incorporating the variation in lowest three energy sub-bands and Fermi level energy in the quantum-well with respect to gate voltage. We noticed that the dependency of lowest sub-band energy with Fermi energy having two fields, which are the lowest sub-band energy is greater and lesser than the Fermi level energy. According to these two fields, we have developed the fermi energy and sheet charge density expressions in each field. By combining each field of the models, developed a unified 2D electron gas sheet charge density model. The Fermi level and sheet charge density are interdependent in the model development. The developed model results are compared with TCAD simulation results and obtain a good consistency between them. This model is fitted to other metal-oxide-semiconductor high electron mobility transistor devices also with modifications in related physical values.

Abstract This article presents the dual-band of a single patch antenna that can operate at a frequency of 2.47 to 5.04 GHz, which is available in WLANs (IEEE 802.11). The beam pattern of the antenna can be switched by changing the position of shorted-circuit points at each edge of the antenna. The advantage of the proposed antenna is that it is a simple structure which is small in size, weighs little and has an easily adjustable beam. In addition, the antenna is tested under real circumstances using the existing WLAN infrastructure. The results confirm that the signal strength can be improved when the proposed switched beam antenna is utilized.

Abstract The waveguide filter structure is treated by two softwares (HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) and CST (Computer Simulation Technology)). Numerical example is given in this article to demonstrate, step by step, the application of the approach to the design of resonator, direct coupled waveguide and microstrip filters based on electromagnetic (EM) simulations. For this design procedure, the filter structure is simulated by successively adding one resonator at a time. To continue the work illustrates how to design a fourth order coupled resonator based rectangular waveguide circuit in the traditional way. With a large number of variables, such tuning work consumes a lot of time and the convergence of the final result is not guaranteed. A fourth order X-band bandpass filter with a center frequency of 11 GHz and a fractional bandwidth FBW = 0,0273 is designed using this procedure and presented here as an example. The simulated results by CST are presented and compared withthe results simulated by a high-frequency structure simulator. Good agreement between the simulated HFSSand simulated results by CST is observed.
