In the recent decades, there has been recorded a great expansion in the computing and communication field and all the predictions are pointing to the further technological progress when using information technologies (IT) in the companies’ business. The appearance of IT in business offers certain advantages, has an influence on the business quality, cost control and also on achieving and maintaining competitive advantage of companies in conditions of the global crisis. The research was carried out on the teritory of Republika Srpska, on the sample of 136 small and medium enterprises. The key goal of this research work was to analyze the existing effects of IT at the level of competitive advantage of companies on the market in the global crisis conditions. The research results confirmed a big importance of IT in the company business for the purpose of achieving and maintaining competitive advantage on the market in conditions of the global crisis.

In the era of economic globalization, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are recognized as an engine of sustainable economic development in both the developed and developing world. In literature, three competitive challenges—the sustainability challenge, the global challenge and the technological challenge—faced by industrial entities in the current globalized economy, are categorized. Of them, this paper undertakes a systemic review of the literature covering the theme of SMEs and technology in order to identify how technological progress in the SMEs, correlates with SMEs survival improvement in the global competition. The review identified six driving forces—social capital, link with Multi-National Corporations (MNCs) and Transnational Corporations (TNCs), innovation, sharing and networking, information technology, and adoption of productivity-enhancing technology—influencing technological upgrade in the SMEs. The review also identified two conditions for successful technological adaptation in the SME sector—availability of technologically skillful workforce in the economy, and identification of opportunities of new technologies in the competition. These conditions could be viewed in the macro environment and emphasize the need for the economies’ readiness towards SMEs’ success.

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are an important part of the Czech economy, they significantly contribute to the job and GDP creation, they are the source of innovation and technological progress. The paper is focused on the internationalization of SMEs, specifically in the wine sector, which is a specific sector closely linked to the specific area and it is significantly subjected to natural and climatic conditions. The authors focused on the specification of the most important aspects of the internationalization of Czech wine-growing small and medium enterprises based on the research via interviewing 450 SMEs wineries. The authors thus identified the key success factors in the process of internationalization of SMEs in the wine business.

The article researches the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on small and medium enterprises' economic security. The issues and challenges faced by SME as a result of COVID-19 pandemic's outburst are studied in the context of maintaining their economic security. It had been established that the impact of COVID-19 pandemic has a distinctive differential effect on certain sectors. The severity of financial turmoil varied throughout regions and sectors of economics, but generally forced the indexes of economic development to demonstrate negative dynamics. Following the economic crisis triggered by the pandemic, the service industry has suffered at most. The complexity of coordinating measures targeted at combating the spread of COVID-19 pandemic with economic development's priorities led to increase in threats hanging over the SME's economic safety. The authors summarize all of the factors in the picture influencing the productivity of small and medium enterprises' activities at the present time all over the world. The study identifies and explains the possibility of measures taken towards supporting enterprises and organizations, based on partnerships between businesses, government and civil society, and also lists recommendations for political measures, which might help the SME to maintain the level of economic security sustainable enough to navigate through the constantly changing environment. The scale of those measures taken against the negative effects of pandemic's economic consequences on small and medium enterprises' operation and development, implies the availability of target programs with financial support, infrastructural growth and professional consulting on the issues concerning SME, as well as supply of means proposed by digitization and technological progress. The measures introduced in the article may be insufficient to help small and medium enterprises survive the long-lasting crisis, however, may be sufficient for them to take time to adapt the activities of enterprises to the current conditions.

However, in the actual development process, there are problems such as weak financial management ability and low external service level restricted development of Chinese technological SMEs. This paper analyzes the mechanism and existing problems of the financial management of Chinese technological SEMs in improving their service ability, and explores ways to improve their financial management and service capability.

As the technological progress of online shopping and advertising advances with increased speed, marketing automation has been gaining more attention from both practitioners and academics. However, despite the growing popularity of this new marketing approach, there are many restrictions when it comes to its implementation by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Due to the high requirements regarding the collection of customer data and advanced knowledge necessary to set up and operate marketing automation systems, many enterprises are not able to fully grasp the potential marketing technologies offer. This article describes the mechanisms of marketing automation, provides the state-of-art research overview and analyses current level of readiness of Czech SMEs to implement digital marketing tools and the obstacles that prevent them to do so.

This province is one of the most densely populated areas of Indonesia. Yogyakarta is popular tourist destination in indonesia after Bali. These have attracted large number of visitors from across Indonesia and abroad to the city. This status makes Yogyakarta is one of the most heterogeneus cities in Indonesia. In edition, Yogyakarta has attracted large number of people to reside in this city for business. One of these comers is small entrepreneurs with their market munchies enterprise (specially a traditional snack trader). This business is one of famous business in Yogyakarta, we will find rows of pavement vendors selling market munchies. The students and tourists are their main target customers. Market munchies enterprise is part of small and medium enterprises SMEs as livelihood activities. SMEs has an important role in economic growth of Indonesia. Therefore, it is very important to develop and strengthen the micro enterprise empowerment. Micro enterprise empowerment is one of strategy to reduce the poverty rate in Indonesia. Major challenger in implement this program are that micro entrepreneurs are conventional and have satisfied with their revenue. It is very important to develop a comprehensive and sustainable micro enterprise empowerment which consist of strengthen the quality of human resources, maximize the government’s roles, empower the enterprise capital and strengthen the partnership and autonomous. Micro enterprise autonomy will contribute to the economic and investment climate. Accounting information has an important role to achieve business success, as well as for small businesses.This research examines the effect of business experience and accounting information system used toward business success with age of business as control variable. The population of this research are small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in creative industries sector operated in Yogyakarta district. Based on purposive sampling method, total sample of this research is 200 SMEs. Statistical tool utilized to test the hypothesis in this study is path analysis using structural equation modelling (SEM). The test result shows that business experience and accounting information have positive and significant effect to the success of SMEs.

The law arrangement of franchise law was first explicitly regulated by the Government Regulation No. 16 of 1997 which is then updated by Government Regulation No. 42 of 2007 to be created in an agreement that at least contains clauses as stipulated by Article 5 of the Government Regulation. However, franchise arrangements also associated with a variety of other laws and regulations applicable in Indonesia. This article is going to state that the importance of partnerships with small and medium enterprises as an effort to encourage the involvement of the wider economic community.
