Augmented reality technology has been widely developed and implemented in an Android-based smartphone application. This technology can be used for entertainment and education. Unfortunately, the use of education is still rare. This paper proposes an android application to introduce the types of land transportation based on augmented reality technology which is visualized in 3-dimensional (3D) form for education as well as entertainment. There are seven land transportation modes that are presented range from two wheels to four wheels, i.e. cars, ambulances, buses, motorbikes, taxis, trucks, and bicycles. Alpha testing has been carried out and shows the results that the application runs well following the expected function. This application can be delivered to the public, especially for the online learning of children in a pandemic situation. In addition, it helps parents to introduce several land transportation modes. With a 3D view, the introduction of types of land transportation is more interactive and realistic. Keywords: android, application, augmented reality, transportation

The spread of massive internet connectivity and penetration of smart devices is a supporting factor why the approach of educational technology is an appropriate step. Currently online learning applications themselves are used for the public both from the level, elementary, junior high, to high school that students get at school can be learned through this online learning application. Now the more widespread online learning applications in Indonesia and more and more people are taking the initiative in making online-based learning with more interesting and creative features. However, no one has specifically developed a specific online learning application for students in vocational high schools. Their existence seems to be marginalized due to the community paradigm which assumes that vocational school children do not need alternative tutoring apart from teachers at school. Though they also need the same thing with high school students and others. Based on this analysis, researchers wanted to create a web-based online learning application for vocational students. Achievement Jack is an online learning application based on learning management system that allows students to be able to do learning through videos delivered by tutors. This study uses the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall type method, or hereinafter referred to as the waterfall method. Based on the above calculation, from 3 testers who filled out the questionnaire stated that this learning application was running with the results of testing the user interface 98%, the basic functions of the system 100%, and 100% validation. In conclusion, this application runs very well.

Learning activity during public activity restrictions at Muhammadiyah Elementary School, Taman Sub-district, Sidoarjo Regency, is carried out through online learning; however, teachers at SD Muhammadiyah Taman continue to face a number of challenges in this teaching and learning activity. This research aims to examine online learning implementation during the public activity restrictions. There are still many teachers who lack an understanding of science and technology, let alone old or traditional teachers who make online learning uninteresting. This research applied the survey research method. Data were collected using an open questionnaire accessible via Google Forms. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. There were 97 teachers at SD Muhammadiyah Taman who filled out the questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire responses, 70.1% had implemented online learning. The issue during online learning was that many students did not have their own mobile phones or laptops because their siblings were still using them for online learning or their parents were still using them for work, so teachers felt that the material presented could not be fully absorbed by the students. Meanwhile, parents struggled with not being able to control their children when learning at home, which differed from face-to-face learning at school

Although educational practitioners have adopted social media to their online or mobile communities, little attention has been paid to investigate the social media messages related to online or mobile learning. The purpose of this research is to identify social media influencers and trends by mining Twitter posts related to online learning and mobile learning. We identified the influencers on Twitter by three different measures: the number of tweets posted by each user, the number of mentions by other users for each user, and the number of retweets for each user. We also analyzed the trends of online learning and mobile learning by the following perspectives: the descriptive statistics of the related tweets, the monthly and hourly line charts of the related tweets, the descriptive statistics of the related retweets, the volume trends of the most retweeted tweets, and the top 10 hashtags of the related tweets. The results of this study can provide educational practitioners different ways of understanding and explaining the public opinions toward online learning and mobile learning.

Pennsylvania is at the forefront of the public cyber charter schooling movement in America. As more and more students elect to transfer from traditional public schools into cyber charter schools–and their districts of origin are forced to forfeit their tuition allocations–a need for a public school alternative to cyber charter schools has emerged. Using current practices in Pennsylvania’s public schools as a backdrop, this article presents a new model for district-level cyber schooling, called the holistic model for blended learning, that public schools in Pennsylvania (and elsewhere) can use to compete with cyber charter schools and meet the growing demand for K-12 online learning.
