On 31 March 1965, Ro Bogner and I went into the public bar of the Regatta Hotel in Brisbane's Coronation Drive and tried to order a lemonade each. Because we were women, we were refused and ordered out, but we did not leave. We chained ourselves to the bar rail instead. The barman, then the publican, then police — first uniformed then plain-clothes — tried hard to get us to leave without force. When they failed, they unexpectedly left us to it. At once there followed a storm of publicity, even extending overseas, and public response ranging from passionate support to hostile opposition right through to threats of violence and even death. Forty-one years later, in the Museum of Brisbane in the City Hall, I saw photos, press clippings and texts about this first, and subsequent, demonstrations in the campaign to admit women to public bars in Queensland. The context was the recent Taking to the Streets Exhibition, an extensive and well-researched showing of the radical movements in Brisbane in 1965–85. Looking back, how do I now view the Regatta demonstration and the subsequent campaigns for change for women in which I was involved? Where do they stand in relation to changes since? Do they still have relevance to goals for women now?

Neste artigo será apresentada uma perspectiva histórica dos acentuados índices de desigualdade socioeconômica observados atualmente no estado de Santa Catarina. Em seguida, serão descritos os eventos Semana do Contestado e Congresso Nacional do Contestado, bem como, estes contribuíram para o debate sobre esta problemática. No ano de 2018, o Instituto Federal de Santa Catarina, Prefeitura Municipal de Caçador e Museu do Contestado propuseram a criação de uma agenda de atividades em rede, como metodologia de abordagem para ações de educação, ciência e tecnologia. Portanto, este projeto teve como objetivo ampliar a divulgação científica e o debate sobre as desigualdades no Contestado. A comunidade organizada foi convidada para construir e executar diversas ações. Participaram instituições públicas, instituições privadas, coletivos de artistas e representantes de grupos sociais. Desta forma, o principal resultado obtido foi o sinergismo entre as atividades realizadas e o seu impacto no público de diversos segmentos. As ações em rede demonstraram maior capacidade de alcançar principalmente estudantes da educação básica, assim como, maior cooperação dos grupos e núcleos de pesquisa das instituições envolvidas em torno do Contestado. Palavras-chave: Ensino Fundamental; Desigualdades; Educação   The network of education, science and technology in the Contestado and the action to reduce inequalities Abstract: This article will present a historical perspective of the accented socioeconomic inequality rates observed in the state of Santa Catarina today. Then, the events “Semana do Contestado” and “Contestado Nacional Congress” will be described and as they contributed to the debate on this problem. In 2018, the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina, the city hall of Caçador and the Contestado museum proposed the creation of an agenda of network activities as a methodology for approaching education, science and technology actions. Therefore, this project aimed to expand scientific dissemination and debate about inequalities in the Contestado. The organized community was called upon to construct and execute various actions. Public institutions, private institutions, collectives of artists and representatives of social groups participated in these actions. In this way, the main result obtained was the synergism between the activities and their impact on the public of different segments. The actions in network demonstrated a higher capacity to reach mainly students of basic education, as well as, higher cooperation of the groups and research centers of the institutions involved around the Contestado. The focus of the research is the management of TPU in the city of Bogor, the purpose of this study was to determine the strategy of the City Government in the management of TPU, to investigate the implementation of the government's strategy of Bogor manage TPU and for mengetaui impact strategy Bogor city administration to the user community TPU. The method used in this study is a qualitative method by taking the informant of the two types of informants for Administrative manager of TPU and user communities TPU using techniques snow ball, TPU city of Bogor there are eight TPU, the study focused on four TPU them TPU Gunung Gadung, TPU Cipaku, TPU and TPU Dreded Blender. researchers showed that the provision of land in Bogor City TPU has not been ideal with the needs of the community cemetery. At this time the city of Bogor require five (5) hectares of TPU, the strategy of the City Government in managing the TPU results structured interview stated that the strategy pegelolaan TPU is expected to provide services to the needs of society in a cemetery that is desired and expected by the public, in the implementation of the policy as a strategy management of TPU, the management of TPU is not ideal with the regulations the City Government as the provisions of the management planned, many factors and constraints in managing TPU like availability of land in the city of Bogor is very difficult to get, quality and human resource capacity to be a factor to failure in managing the TPU, lack of socialization management policy to the community of the importance of the TPU management policy, as well as the lack of attention from the Bogor city administration for the management of TPU. the impact of management strategies TPU on society shows that the answer No 54.1% and 45.9% YES answer is public response to the TPU management policy means greater datipada answers No answer Yes to show people are not satisfied with the services provided by the City Government Bogor UPTD Funeral manage TPU.Keywords: Policies, TPU, Human Resources.

Society, in general, and every local collectivity, in particular, needs public administrations to carry out administrative activities dedicated to concrete social needs. Starting from this necessity, through its content, this paper aims to analyze the opinions of dignitaries and civil servants, as well as members of the local community regarding the administration activity carried out at the Institution of Horodnic de Sus City Hall in Suceava County. Achieved by ensuring the comparability of the data collected, this micro-research reveals that both those who manage and those who are managed show a favorable attitude in relation to almost all aspects surveyed: the adaptation of administrative activities to the needs of the local community, the promptness and efficiency of the administrative activity in the City Hall Institution, the, the satisfaction regarding the management of both the City Hall Institution and the locality. However, the study highlights the fact that regarding the existence of bureaucracy in the administrative activity and in the relation with the members of the local community, the opinions expressed by the two categories of respondents are different. If in the perception of dignitaries and civil servants alignment of the administrative activity with the development priorities of the locality, the answers are unfavorable to the bureaucratic phenomenon, by contrast, from the opinions expressed by the locals, it results that the City Hall-citizens relation is affected by bureaucracy.

As of two cases in this study which were carried out in Madrid as social practices in art, community methodologies have been detailed as practiced in order to formalize collaborative creation proposed by each one. El Beso (The Kiss) (2018) and Cuentos que nunca cuentan (Tales that are never told) (2010) were carried out by the artist Toxic Lesbian with the participation of institutions such as Medialab-Prado and Intermediae, both of which are integrated in Matadero Madrid, Contemporary art creation center of the City Hall of Madrid. Both cases involved participation of the most directly concerned audiences because of the themes undertaken: migrant women in El Beso (The Kiss) and collectives of directly involved people in mental health in Cuentos que Nunca Cuentan (Tales that are never told). The proposals presupposed intervention in the public space of the city for their production and involved a wide representation of activists and elements of social or cultural institutions. This qualitative análisis of the processes and testimonies of the agents that participated seeks delving into the motivations of communities to become involved in this type of development, the role played by institutions or the inevitable politization of the proposals by the administrative structures that finance them. A partir de dos casos, objetos de este estudio, y desarrollados en la ciudad de Madrid como prácticas sociales en el arte, se pormenoriza en sus metodologías comunitarias puestas en práctica para formalizar la creación colaborativa que cada uno propone. El Beso (2018) y Cuentos que nunca cuentan (2010) fueron llevados a cabo por la artista Toxic Lesbian con la participación de instituciones como Medialab-Prado e Intermediae, ambas integradas en Matadero Madrid, Centro de creación contemporánea del ayuntamiento. Los dos casos supusieron la participación de los públicos más directamente concernidos por las temáticas abordadas: mujeres migrantes en El Beso y colectivos en primera persona en salud mental para Cuentos que nunca cuentan. Las propuestas presuponían la intervención en el espacio público de la ciudad para su producción, e implicaron a una amplia representación de la sociedad civil a través de asociaciones, activistas y dispositivos institucionales sociales o culturales. Este análisis cualitativo de los procesos y testimonios de los agentes intervinientes persigue profundizar en las motivaciones de las comunidades para implicarse en estos desarrollos, en el papel de las instituciones o en la irremediable politización de las propuestas por parte de las estructuras administrativas que los financian.

This article details the extent and import of the stray and feral dog problem in the City of Detroit in the context of regime and network theories of governance. Using data drawn from a survey of animal welfare service providers, this article provides a description of the complex and essentially grass roots service provision network currently in place to address the problem. The primary cause of the roaming dog problem in the city is the poor economy and the problem is worse in the most distressed neighborhoods. Several factors serve as barriers to addressing the issue. First, the actual number of roaming dogs is a question of contention in the city. Second, weaknesses in the city governing system and scarce resources have limited the public response to the problem. As a result, services are provided by an unstable and fragmented network of nonprofit organizations largely located outside the city of Detroit itself.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar e problematizar a importância dos subúrbios do Recife para a consolidação do reinado de Momo Recife, nas décadas de 1950 - 1960. Nessa época, organizar o reinado de Momo tornou-se uma prioridade política, pois os administradores julgavam necessário criar políticas públicas capazes de solucionar uma questão que há décadas era destaque nos periódicos da cidade: salvar o Carnaval do Recife da “decadência”. Logo após o fim dos festejos momescos de 1955, a Prefeitura da cidade, através do projeto de lei de autoria do Vereador Antônio Batista de Sousa, tenta tomar para si a organização da festa. Segundo alguns periódicos, a medida surge na tentativa de “salvar o reinado de Momo”, que segundo os mesmos, estava “morrendo aos poucos. Nesta pesquisa analisamos as disputas políticas, sociais e geográficas do Carnaval do Recife.*This paper aims to analyze and problematize the importance of the suburbs in Recife to consolidate the reign of Momo Recife in the 1950s - 1960s. At that time, organizing Momo’s reign became a political priority; since the administrators judged it was necessary to create public policies that could solve an issue that had been for decades highlighted in the city’s periodicals: saving the Carnival of Recife from "decadence". Shortly after the end Momo party in 1955, the City Hall, through the bill authored by the Councilor Alderman Antônio Batista de Sousa, tries to take to itself the organization of the party. According to some periodicals, the measure appears in the attempt to "save Momo’s reign", which according to the same ones, it was "dying slowly”. In this research, we analyze the political, social and geographical disputes of the Carnival in Recife.

The Court of Appeals of New York held, in Council of the City of New York u. Giuliani, slip op. 02634, 1999 WL 179257 (N.Y. Mar. 30, 1999), that New York City may not privatize a public city hospital without state statutory authorization. The court found invalid a sublease of a municipal hospital operated by a public benefit corporation to a private, for-profit entity. The court reasoned that the controlling statute prescribed the operation of a municipal hospital as a government function that must be fulfilled by the public benefit corporation as long as it exists, and nothing short of legislative action could put an end to the corporation's existence.In 1969, the New York State legislature enacted the Health and Hospitals Corporation Act (HHCA), establishing the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) as an attempt to improve the New York City public health system. Thirty years later, on a renewed perception that the public health system was once again lacking, the city administration approved a sublease of Coney Island Hospital from HHC to PHS New York, Inc. (PHS), a private, for-profit entity.

Film Unyil puppet comes not just part of the entertainment world that can be enjoyed by people from the side of the story, music, and dialogue. However, there is more value in it which is a manifestation of the creator that can be absorbed into the charge for the benefit of educating the children of Indonesia to the public at large. The Unyil puppet created by the father of Drs. Suyadi is one of the works that are now widely known by the whole people of Indonesia. The process of creating a puppet Unyil done with simple materials and formation of character especially adapted to the realities of the existing rural region. Through this process, this research leads to the design process is fundamentally educational puppet inspired by the creation of Si Unyil puppet. The difference is the inspiring character created in this study is on the characters that exist in urban life, especially the city of Jakarta. Thus the results of this study are the pattern of how to shape the design of products through the creation of the puppet with the approach of urban culture.
