This paper investigated the effects of liquid-solid ratio, extraction time, extraction temperature and alkali concentration on the extraction rate of millet bran polysaccharides by the enzymatic hydrolysis and alkaline extraction method, then the L9 (34) orthogonal test was designed to optimize the extraction process according to the single factor experiment.The optimum parameters were obtained as follow: 15:1 liquid-solid ratio, five hours extraction time, 80° extraction temperature, and 0.7 mol/l concentration of sodium hydroxide. The extraction rate of millet bran polysaccharide reached 11.46% through the verification experiments under these conditions,and the RSD was 1.79%. Therefore, it can provide some experimental basis for the scientific research of millet bran polysaccharides in the future.

The seed coat of red sword bean (Canavalia gladiata (Jacq.) DC.) is rich in antioxidant polyphenols. It is often discarded as a byproduct with the consumption of red sword bean, since it is very thick and not consumed by people. The aim of this study was to develop an ultrasound-assisted extraction method to extract natural antioxidants from the seed coats. The extraction process was optimized by using response surface methodology. After the single-factor experiments, three key factors, including ethanol concentration, liquid/solid ratio, and extraction time, were selected and their interactions were studied using a central composite design. The optimal extraction condition was 60.2% hydroethanol, a liquid/solid ratio of 29.3 mL/g, an extraction time of 18.4 min, an extraction temperature of 50 °C, and ultrasound power of 400 W. Under the optimal conditions, antioxidant activity of the extract was 755.98 ± 10.23 μmol Trolox/g dry weight (DW), much higher than that from maceration (558.77 ± 14.42 μmol Trolox/g DW) or Soxhlet extraction (479.81 ± 12.75 μmol Trolox/g DW). In addition, the main antioxidant compounds in the extract were identified and quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography–diode array detection–tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–DAD–MS/MS). The concentrations of digalloyl hexoside, methyl gallate, gallic acid, trigalloyl hexoside, and digallic acid were 15.30 ± 0.98, 8.85 ± 0.51, 8.76 ± 0.36, 4.27 ± 0.21, and 2.89 ± 0.13 mg/g DW. This study provides an efficient and green extraction method for the extraction of natural antioxidants from the bean coat of red sword bean. The extract of antioxidants might be added into functional foods or nutraceuticals with potential beneficial functions.

In this study, a simultaneous water extraction process for baicalin, wogonoside, and chlorogenic acid has been optimized. The effect of extraction temperature, extraction time, and liquid–solid ratio was scrutinized by single factor experiments and further analyzed by Box–Behnken design (BBD) approach using response surface methodology (RSM). The extraction yield of investigated compounds was determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Single-factor experiments and response surface analysis results revealed that the optimized conditions are: Liquid to solid ratio 25:1 (mL/g), extraction temperature 93 °C, extraction time 2.4 h, and the extraction cycle two. Importantly, it has been noted that under the above conditions, concentrations of baicalin, wogonoside, and chlorogenic were 0.078, 0.031, and 0.013 mg/mL, respectively, and the overall desirability (OD) value was 0.76 which was higher than the non-optimized conditions and the deviation from the predicted OD value was only 2.44%. Conclusively, it has been suggested that the model was stable and feasible, and fit for extraction of baicalin, wogonoside, and chlorogenic acid from Scutellariae Radix and Lonicerae (L.) japonicae Flos.

In this research, the primary study in extracting technologies of Tea polyphends was finished. On the basis of the water lixiviation by orthogonal optimization method, extraction process of TP by microwave extraction was optimized. The best combined condition of the water lixiviation as follows: liquid-lolid ratio 25:1, extraction temperature 95°C , extraction time 20min,Under this conditions, the yield of TP is 13.993 %.And the best combined condition by microwave extraction: liquid-lolid ratio 35:1, microwave power 750 W, extraction time 18min, and the yield of TP is 20.3023 % through duplicated experiment. The results showed that compare with water lixiviation, the yield of TP was enhanced by 6.3093 % by microwave method. Meanwhile, the extraction time by microwave method was reduced greatly.

Abstract. The copper in plateau red soil was extracted by ultrasonic-assisted oxalic acid. Tessier fractional extraction method was used to evalute copper speciation. The result showed that the biggest extraction rate was 69%. Compared with oscillation extraction, the extraction rate of ultrasonic extraction was increased by 7.18% under the condition of 0.1 mol/L oxalic acid, 20:1 of liquid-solid ratio and 30 min of extraction time. Ultrasound could promote the oxalic acid extraction of copper from plateau red soil effectively, which could be attributed the success to the activation effect of ultrasound on bound to carbonates speciation and bound to iron and manganese speciation.

The extraction process of jujube juice was optimized based on soluble solid and total acid contents in this study. A central composite design of response surface methodology involving liquid-solid ratio, extraction time, enzyme dosage and extraction temperature was used, and second-order model for the yield was employed to generate the response surface. The optimum condition for the process was determined as follows: liquid-solid ratio 8, extraction time 2.5h, enzyme dosage 0.25%, extraction temperature 50 °C. The soluble solid and total acid contents at the optimum condition were 10.48% and 0.78 %, respectively.

In this paper, ultrasonic cellulase extraction (UCE) was applied to extract polyphenols from passion fruit. The extraction conditions for total phenol content (TPC) and antioxidant activity were optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) coupled with a Box-Behnken design (BBD). The results showed that the liquid-to-solid ratio (X2) was the most significant single factor and had a positive effect on all responses. The ANOVA analysis indicated quadratic models fitted well as TPC with R2 = 0.903, DPPH scavenging activity with R2 = 0.979, and ABTS scavenging activity with R2 = 0.981. The optimal extraction parameters of passion fruit were as follows: pH value of 5 at 30 °C for extraction temperature, 50:1 (w/v) liquid-to-solid ratio with extraction time for 47 min, the experimental values were found matched with those predicted. Infrared spectroscopy suggested that the extract contained the structure of polyphenols. Furthermore, three main polyphenols were identified and quantified by HPLC. The results showed the content of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity of the optimized UCE were 1.5~2 times higher than that determined by the single extraction method and the Soxhlet extraction method, which indicates UCE is a competitive and effective extraction technique for natural passion fruit polyphenols.

The simultaneously co-production of Poly-β-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) and ectoine in a process (PHB/Ect co-production) and co-products extraction have great significant for reducing the manufacture cost and promoting industrialization of PHB and ectoine. The pure aqueous extraction method based on osmotic downshock was used for the extraction of PHB/Ect co-products byH. salina. The effects of osmotic pressure, extraction temperature and extraction time on the extraction rate of PHB were investigated. The ectoine was extracted and purified by the techniques of hollow fiber and ion exchange. The optimal conditions for PHB extraction were osmotic downshock in pure water, extraction temperature at 60 °C and extraction for 4 h. The extraction rate of PHB was 87.5%. The extraction rate of ectoine was 84.2%.

Ultrasonic technology was applied to polysaccharides extraction from Ottelia acuminata (Gagnep.) Dandy and Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used to optimize the effects of processing parameters on polysaccharides yields. Three independent variables such as liquid-solid ratio (ml/g, X1), extraction temperature (°C, X2) and extraction time (hour, X3) were investigated respectively. The statistical analysis indicated that the three variables and the quadratic of X1 and X3 had significant effects on the yields and followed by the significant interaction effects between the variables of X1 and X3, X2 and X3 (p<0.05). A mathematical model with high determination coefficient was gained. The optimal extraction conditions of polysaccharides were determined as follows: liquid-solid ratio 43 ml/g, extraction temperature 90 °C and extraction time 3.45 hours. Under these conditions, the experimental yield of polysaccharides was 107.44 mg/g, which was agreed closely with the predicted value 108.71 mg/g.

Development natural pigment retained a variety of nutrition composition is extremely research value.Water Wax Trees Fruit was as raw materials,citric acid aqueous solution was as extracting agent.Amaranthine pigment extraction method were studied on fully grasping the stability of the natural amaranthine pigment and no damage to the water wax fruit biological activity.The effect of extraction yield were studied on Water Wax Trees Fruit natural amaranthine pigment.The results show that the better extraction conditions are extraction temperature at 70 °C, extraction time for 3h,citric acid concentration1.0 % , the material/liquid ration(g/ml) 1:5.The extraction yield is 2.95%.Ultraviolet absorption maximum wavelength is 280 nm.

This research aimed to optimize the total polyphenol content (TPC) extracted from soybean sprout powder under different experimental parameters, including ethanol concentration (60–100% v/v), extraction temperature (40–80 °C), extraction time (15–150 min), material:solvent ratio (1:4–1:10 g/mL), the number extraction cycles (1, 2 and 3 times), the age of sprout (0–7 days), and the used part of the sprout (cotyledon, hypocotyl, or radicle). The obtained results were used in response surface methodology, in combination with a central composite design, to model the total polyphenol content (TPC) with respect to three variables, including ethanol concentration, extraction temperature, and material:solvent ratio. The experimental conditions for optimal recovery of TPC consisted of ethanol concentration of 88% (v/v), extraction temperature of 59 °C, material:solvent ratio of 1:6.5 g/mL, extraction time of 60 min, and 2 cycles of maceration. In addition, for maximal TPC, the sprout should undergo the germination of 5 days and the radicle fraction should be used. Based on the suggested optimum conditions, the obtained and verified TPC was 19.801 mg genistein (GE)/g dry weight (d.w.). The obtained dried extract also exhibited low antioxidant activity.
