It is possible to ensure safety of the entire construction process as well as safe operation of buildings and structures in future by timely implementation of geotechnical monitoring. Geotechnical monitoring of buildings and structures is a complex research of “soil base – foundation – above ground structures of a building”. Geotechnical monitoring studies behaviour of buildings and structures during construction and operation and, safety measures to prevent hazardous situations in future are undertaken upon analysis of acquired results. Geotechnical monitoring comprises combination of works, including field observation for structures’ behaviour of a building under construction or renovation, its foundation, including soil body surrounding the structure under construction, and field observation for structures of surrounding buildings. Such monitoring allows us to timely detect and prevent non-reversible processes that occur in “soil base – foundation – above ground structures of a building” system. Considering task in hand to ensure safety and security of buildings and structures, list of geotechnical monitoring works can be divided into following blocks: object monitoring; hydrogeological monitoring; ecological monitoring and computational and analytical block which makes assessment of current geotechnical situation on the construction object and develops relevant recommendation for further continuation of works. This article looks into special aspects of multiyear (2005 – 2019) geotechnical monitoring for deformational behaviour of buildings under operation, open parking spaces No.1 and No.2, located in area of effect from construction of railway connecting Vnukovo-1 airport and Kievskiy train station in Moscow and in the area of effect of new Vnukovo-1 airport construction. Article looks into tasks to ensure regular operation of existing buildings and monitoring of hazardous situations and their origin caused by construction works or poor technical condition of monitored objects. Particular to renovation of Vnukovo-1 airport, that started in 2005 is the fact that during construction it was necessary to ensure operation of a number of maintained buildings. Among them are open parking spaces No.1 and No.2.

Problems of ensuring the safe operation of an aircraft from the point of view of the fatigue life of its structure are considered. The relevance of the creation and implementation of diagnostic systems for monitoring the technical condition of structures of complex technical objects is shown on the example of a helicopter. An original approach to the creation and implementation of complex systems for diagnostics and monitoring of the technical condition of complex technical objects is presented, combining fiber-optic measuring technology and phase-chronometric method. It is shown that the use of monitoring and diagnostic systems ensures the transition to operation based on the actual technical condition. The proposed approach makes it possible to increase the time between overhaul intervals and reduce excess reserves in terms of the reliability factors of structures, which increases the flight performance of aircraft.

When designing and implementing BIM technologies, it is of particular importance to take into account fire safety requirements to eliminate errors in the decisions made, as well as for safe operation in the future. This topic is very relevant today and the need for compliance with fire safety requirements is very high. To solve these problems, the use of modern software products, such as Autodesk Revit, can play a huge role. The use of such programs makes it possible to significantly speed up the design process of all systems of the building under construction, as well as to develop an information model in detail, which will allow an objective assessment of accidents and provide objective information about them. These technologies make it possible to fully design buildings and structures, having calculated all the processes, to provide the most effective solutions at all stages of the project, which reduces costs and reduces the time of commissioning of the object. The article reveals the concept of BIM technologies, their main advantages, and application experience.

More and more high-speed railway are under construction in China. The slow settlement along high-speed railway tracks and newly-built stations would lead to inhomogeneous deformation of local area, and the accumulation may be a threat to the safe operation of high-speed rail system. In this paper, surface deformation of the newly-built high-speed railway station as well as the railway lines in Shenyang region will be retrieved by time series InSAR analysis using multi-orbit COSMO-SkyMed images. This paper focuses on the non-uniform subsidence caused by the changing of local environment along the railway. The accuracy of the settlement results can be verified by cross validation of the results obtained from two different orbits during the same period.

The influence of the order of construction of houses on the formation of the stress-strain state of the system "foundation-foundation-above-ground structures" is investigated For this purpose, several options for setting tasks for the phased construction of multi-section building sections are considered. With this in mind, it should be noted that the construction of each subsequent section has an impact on the built entirely or partially adjacent section. That is why this effect should be investigated to predict how serious this impact may be, and to draw appropriate constructive decisions. Thus, the main objectives of the study are: Creation of SEM without taking into account the stages of construction of the house; Calculation of a house with a phased loading of 5 floors. Taking into account changes in the order of construction of sections; Formation of SEM taking into account the sequence of erection of sections without including the sequence of erection of floors within the boundaries of the current section; Research of the impact of the calculation of sections of a multi-section building without and taking into account the summary of subsequent sections. The research of the impact of the sequence of construction and installation of the object will allow us to assess the stress-strain scheme at all stages of construction, so changes in the behavior of the scheme will be recorded at all stages of construction specified by the designers. To do this, the change in the stress-strain state (VAT) of the system "foundation - foundations - above-ground structures" must be modeled with different options for stages of construction, taking into account the real parameters of the soil base and so on. The interaction of piles in different zones of sections, the work of grids in the foundations of high-rise buildings are considered. The research was carried out with the help of numerical modeling of the system "foundation - foundations - aboveground constructions". The redistribution of forces in the piles depending on the formulation of problems on the stages of construction of sections and design parameters (location of piles in characteristic zones, the influence of the stiffness of the aboveground part on the redistribution of forces). Characteristic zones in the foundation are distinguished: they are central, lateral, angular and especially at the joints of adjacent sections. The redistribution of efforts between piles and a grid is revealed.

The article presents a method for calculating the technical condition of the tower crane on the basis of integrated monitoring of the mechanisms of the lifting structure using a digital model. The use of information technologies allows to take a new look at the issues of ensuring the safe operation of lifting mechanisms. Due to the application of these technologies, a qualitatively new method of calculating the technical condition of tower cranes on the basis of an integral-differential approach, which takes into account the score of defects, according to the regulatory documentation, is proposed. The concept of the technical condition index of the tower crane (TCItc), as an integral indicator reflecting the general condition of the nodes and mechanisms of the crane, is introduced. The use of information technologies to calculate the technical condition index of tower cranes makes it possible to integrate the geometric parameters of the tower crane and a mathematical algorithm for their evaluation, which results in a quantitative assessment of defects formed during the operation of tower cranes.

A nuclear power plant’s safe operation involves the planning for non-standard operational emergencies, where  pre-determined safety measures and damage control interventions must be taken into consideration depending  on the developed event. A nuclear power plant’s safe  operation involves the planning for non-standard  operational emergencies, where pre-determined safety  measures and damage control interventions must be taken  into consideration depending on the developed event. The  definition of the severe accident management cannot be  explained in a single concept, it needs to be examined in  detail. As a result of this it becomes necessary to specify the procedure guidelines appropriate to the nature of the event, which can be used with optimal efficiency under  hierarchical organisational control. The experience of  nuclear accidents in the world and the precognition of  future events, the knowledge of existing guidelines for  severe accident management needs to be deepened  continuously, but at the same time it can be parallelly  upgraded with the application of new technologies.

The paper focuses on the development of small and medium-sized deposits accompanied by implementing the investment design solutions, new expensive equipment and technologies. Further progressive development of the oil and gas complex depends on the implementation of measures supporting the operability of oil pipeline systems, the modernization and reconstruction of oil and gas complex enterprises. The main reasons for decreasing economic efficiency of the oil and gas complex are the outdated oil production technologies, as well as the obsolete drilling equipment. To make timely decisions and take measures to restore and improve equipment performance, a comprehensive assessment of the technical condition of the equipment is required, including not only an assessment of the safe operation of equipment and the possibility of extending service life, but also evaluating of the technological condition, the possibility and necessity of its restoration in terms of evaluating the efficient operation of the equipment.
