This article mainly studies a new type of compound effervescent tablet for hot pot soup base, which is made of mangosteen as the main material, adding mangosteen glycoside and kumquat to improve the taste, and adding starch slurry and PEG-6000 as a granulating agent. A single factor test was used to select the optimal level of each factor, the sensory score was used as the response value, and the response surface analysis method was used to optimize the formulation of the compound effervescent tablet, and the moisture absorption rate and sensory condition of the finished tablet after several days of placement were determined. The results showed that the optimized main formula of mangosteen compound effervescent tablets was: mangosteen powder 5.3%, kumquat powder 1.3%, mangosteen glycoside 1.3%, effervescent disintegrant 90.7%, of which citric acid: bicarbonate Sodium is 1.6:1. In this process, starch slurry and PEG-6000 are used as the granulation agent for the semi-dry tableting method. The composite effervescent tablet prepared after drying at 50°C for 3 hours is sweet and sour, rich in special aroma, short in foaming time, and has the lowest moisture absorption rate. The sensory score was 94.96 points.

Flavor crab meat sauce (FCMS) is a new type of aquatic condiment that is not only rich in nutrition but also unique in terms of flavor. However, very little is known about how sterilization methods affect the sensory quality and volatile flavor of FCMS. In the present study, canned FCMS was subjected to the following sterilization methods: pasteurization (PS), microwave sterilization (MS), ultrasonic sterilization (US), and high temperature sterilization (HTS). Each sterilization method was evaluated on the basis of texture, color, sensory score, volatile flavor, and total viable counts in FCMS observed after sterilization. Results demonstrated that the total viable count decreased to 28, 26, 58, and 18 CFU/g respectively after PS, MS, US, and HTS treatments; no coliform group was detected in any of these samples. PS and MS had no significant effect on the texture of FCMS (P > 0.05), but US and HTS reduced hardness and viscosity of FCMS. MS and HTS significantly reduced the L*, a*, and b* values of FCMS (P < 0.05). The original brightness and red value of FCMS remained the same after PS and US. MS and HTS reduced the sensory score of FCMS to a great extent, while PS and US maintained the original sensory score of FCMS. Assessment of volatile flavor profile of FCMS post different sterilization treatments revealed that MS and HTS reduced the total ester content, while US reduced the total amount of alcohols in FCMS. However, PS not only maintained the original total amount of esters in FCMS, but also increased the content of alcohols, aldehydes, and ketones. Therefore, PS could be selected as a feasible sterilization method for FCMS among the four different sterilization methods.

Phosphate of chrome-alumina (PCA) matrix composites were successfully prepared via thermoforming by using chrome-aluminum phosphate as adhesive, ZnO as curing agent and single component or combination of Al2O3, SiO2, SiC and Si3N4as fillers. We have studied the effect of different fillers on the mechanical properties, dielectric properties and moisture absorption rate of composite materials. Results show that, for the PCA-III system, when curing temperature is 180°C, the dielectric properties of materials are the best and the moisture absorption rate is the minimum; When the amount of filler is 35%, the mechanical properties of PCA-III system are the best (i.e. the tensile strength is 94.4MPa and the flexural strength is 134.7MPa).

Moisture absorption results in dimensional deformation, mechanical property deterioration and fungi attack in wood composite products, which may be improved by the reinforcement of waterproof material. In this study, we used basalt fibre as a reinforcement material for fir sawdust panels and investigated the influence of basalt fibre content and length on moisture absorption rate and thickness swelling. The reinforced fir sawdust panel groups largely reduced water absorption rate, and the smallest thickness swelling occurred when the content of basalt fibre was 5%. The results also indicated that the basalt fibre content played a more important role than basalt fibre length on the thickness swelling of the reinforced fir sawdust panels.

Abstract we present a novel surfacing coating to resolve the stability of α-AlH3. Inspired by the strong chemical adhesion of mussels, the polymerization of dopamine was first introduced to coat α-AlH3 through a simple situ polymerization. The α-AlH3 was used as a substrate. In-depth characterizations confirmed compact formation with PDA on α-AlH3 surface. The coated α-AlH3 sample was characterized by XRD XPS and SEM . The results show that a strong PDA film is formed on the surface of α-AlH3, the PDA@α-AlH3 retained primary morphology. The crystal form of α-AlH3 does not change after coated by PDA. The results of XPS analysis show that N1s appears on the material after coated by PDA, indicating that polydopamine is formed on the surface of α-AlH3. The moisture absorption tests show that the moisture absorption rate of α-AlH3 is greatly reduced after being coated with PDA. The excellent intact ability of PDA prevent α-AlH3 reacting with watered in the air. The thermal stability of α-AlH3 before and after coating was analyzed by DSC. This work demonstrates the successful applications of dopamine chemistry to α-AlH3, thereby providing a potential method for the metastable materials.

Разработана рецептура мягкого сыра с повышенным содержанием пищевых волокон за счет внесения отрубей. Для исследования взяты овсяные, пшеничные и ржаные отруби. Рассмотрено 3 способа внесения отрубей на разных технологических стадиях приготовления сыра: образец 1 – перед пастеризацией молока; образец 2 – перед внесением фермента; образец 3 – в готовое сырное зерно. Сыр изготовлен по технологии мягкого сыра (МС) типа «Славянский». Дозировка: на порцию сыра массой 50 гнеобходимо 3 готрубей без учета 3–5% потерь. Определено влагопоглощение овсяных отрубей (ОО) в воде и молоке, %: при температуре t 35°С – 670 и 446, при t 75°С – 840 и 560 соответственно. У пшеничных отрубей влагопоглощение ниже, %: при t 35°С – 760 и 506, при t 75°С – 800 и 533 в воде и молоке соответственно. Физико-химический анализ отрубей: массовая доля, %, пищевых волокон (ПВ) пшеничных, овсяных и ржаных отрубей составила соответственно 60,0; 66,6 и 63,3. Наибольшее содержание ПВ определено в ОО (66,6%). Максимальную оценку дегустаторов получил образец 2 МС. Равномерное распределение отрубей в образце 2 повлияло на его консистенцию и форму, которая сохранялась в течение 12 ч. Установлено, что для получения МС с повышенным содержанием ПВ необходимо добавлять ОО в количестве 6 г/100 г молочной смеси до внесения фермента в заквашенное молоко. Исследования показали возможность создания нового вида молочного продукта с заданными составом и свойствами. A recipe for soft cheese with an increased content of dietary fiber due to the introduction of bran has been developed. Oat, wheat and rye bran were taken for the study. Three ways of bran application at different technological stages of cheese preparation are considered: sample 1 – before pasteurization of milk; sample 2 – before introduction of the enzyme; sample 3 – in the finished cheese grain. The cheese is made using the technology of soft cheese of the «Slavyanskiy» type. Dosage: for a portion of cheese weighing 50 g, you need 3 g of bran without taking into account 3–5% of losses. Moisture absorption of oat bran in water and milk was determined, %: at t 35°C – 670 and 446, at t 75°C – 840 and 560, respectively. In wheat bran, moisture absorption is lower, %: at t 35°C – 760 and 506, at t 75°C – 800 and 533 in water and milk, respectively. Physical and chemical analysis of bran: the mass fraction, %, of dietary fibers of wheat, oat and rye bran was 60,0; 66,6 and 63,3, respectively. The highest content of dietary fiber is found in oat bran (66,6%). The maximum rating of tasters was given to sample 2. The uniform distribution of bran in sample 2 affected its consistency and shape, which was preserved for 12 h. It is established that to obtain soft cheese with a high content of dietary fiber, it is necessary to add oat bran in the amount of 6 g/100 g of the milk mixture before adding the enzyme to the fermented milk. Research has shown that it is possible to create a new type of dairy product with a given composition and properties.

This study aims to formulate woodapple flavor effervescent tablets in the lab experiment. Four factors with three levels each were investigated including: acid citric (14%, 16%, 18%), natri-bicarbonate (10%, 14%, 18%), saccharose (45%, 50%, 55%), and PEG 6000 (4%, 5%, 6%). Nine profiles were constructed following a fractional factorial design – the Graeco Latin square. Each profile was then measured based on four characteristics/criteria: (1) - flow properties of wood apple powder (before compression process), (2) - weight variation and (3) - disintegration time (after compression process); and (4) wood-apple effervescent tablets which were rated for overall liking by 105 consumers. The results showed that 8 over 9 profiles have a good flow property, meaning that it is capable of compressing tablets. The weight variation among tablets is less than 5%. In addition to that, the disintegration time of an effervescent tablet, about 1 gram into 200 mL water, is less than 300 seconds (5 minutes). Based on the preliminary evaluation of our internal sensory panel, six over eight profiles were chosen for  taking the tests to the consumers’ liking based on IPM method. The results showed that profile 2 (A.Citric 14%,  NaHCO3 14%, saccharose 50% , PEG 6000 5%,wood apple flavor 16% and vit.C 1%) and profile 5 (A.Citric 16%, NaHCO3 14%, saccharose 50%, PEG 6000 4%, wood apple flavor 15% and vit.C 1%) obtain  maximum liking score rated by the consumers. We expect that the results of this study will benefit R&D staff in food and pharmaceutical companies who want to diversify their local products.

The moisture absorption behavior of flax fiber-reinforced epoxy composites is deliberated to be a serious issue. This property restricts their usage as outdoor engineering structures. Therefore, this study provides an investigation of moisture in flax fibers on the performance of the flax/epoxy composite materials based on their shear responses. The ±45° aligned flax fibers exposed to different relative humidities (RH) and the vacuum infusion process was used to manufacture the composite specimens. The optimum shear strength (40.25 ± 0.75 MPa) was found for the composites manufactured with 35% RH-conditioned flax fibers, but the shear modulus was reduced consistently with increasing RH values. Although shear strength was increased because of fiber swelling with increased moisture absorption rate until 35% RH environments with good microstructures, nonetheless, strength and modulus both started to decrease after this range. A very poor microstructure has been affirmed by the SEM images of the composite samples conditioned at 90% RH environments.

The magnesium alloys with rare earth element addition are widely used as nodularizer recently. However, the low absorption rate of Mg and lots of white smog during burning become critical issue. In this paper, a new type of iron coated nodularizer is developed to solve the above problems and reduce the production cost. The microstructure and mechanical properties also investigated.

Moisture with harmful ions penetrates into the interior of concrete, which causes deterioration of the concrete structure. In this study, a moisture saturation equilibrium relationship of concrete was tested under different temperatures and relative humidity conditions to develop moisture absorption and desorption curves. Based on experimental data and numerical simulation, a model of moisture transport in concrete was established. The results from the model indicate that the moisture absorption rate was lower at higher temperatures and largely dependent on the saturation gradient, while the desorption was increased at higher temperatures and mostly affected by the saturation gradient. The proposed model was highly in agreement with the experimental data.
