Green finance, as an important driving force and support for economic development, has been playing an irreplaceable role since Shandong province began to build comprehensive pilot zones for the conversion of old and new driving forces. In order to further explore the financial institutions to develop green financial support to the realization of the old and the new kinetic energy conversion path, release more potential to help financial institutions and the function, this article system combing the preliminary results of old and new kinetic energy conversion in Shandong province, and the green credit, as a typical example of green finance, its action mechanism were analysed, the result shows that the enterprise’s development and mutual restriction relations between green finance. Based on this, this paper puts forward the proposed path for financial institutions to develop green finance to support the transformation of old and new driving forces in Shandong Province.

Purpose Innovation plays a pivotal role in a national economy and in the research and development of science and technology. Because the elements, capability and development direction of innovation in various countries are dissimilar, national innovative capacity also varies by country. However, previous studies have predominantly measured national innovative capacity through empirical studies by using a single index of innovation output, ignoring that the forms of innovation are heterogeneous across countries and failing to examine the influence exerted by various innovation models on economic development. Thus, the purpose of this study is to fill this gap by using scientific driving force and technological driving force to present the influence of national innovative capacities on economic development. Design/methodology/approach This study used regression models to test the influence of different national innovative capacities (i.e. scientific and technological driving forces) on economic development and stability. Findings Using the data of 60 countries, this study determined that both scientific and technological driving forces influenced economic development; specifically, scientific driving force affected economic development through technological driving force. Moreover, both research paper quality and patent quality positively influenced economic stability, but patent quality was the mediator. Originality/value This study examined scientific output from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives to determine their influence on economic growth and particularly on economic stability, which lacks dedicated studies. This study strives to bridge this gap in the literature by asserting, from the concept of economic resilience, that high-quality science and technology can strengthen the stability of a country’s economy.

The greenhouse effect was focused by more learners with the global warming. It has become a very serious issue the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and carbon emissions in the process of sustainable economic development in Shandong. This paper studied the relationship trend in middle of FDI, carbon emissions, and greenhouse effect impact mechanism in Shandong Province based on the data from 2000 to 2016 in Shandong Province by simultaneous equation model from qualitative and quantitative analysis. There is an inverted environmental Kuznets curve correlation between FDI and carbon emissions. The mechanism of FDI?s impact on Shandong?s ecological environment in three aspects: scale effect, structure effect, and technology effect. The results show that FDI has negative scale effect, structure effect and positive technology effect on carbon emissions in Shandong Province, and the overall effect is negative. Accordingly, taking the transformation of new and old kinetic energy in Shandong Province as the goal, this paper puts forward the optimization strategy, provides policy suggestions for the government in the implementation of the transformation of new and old kinetic energy, in order to better promote economic development, industrial restructuring and upgrading, and realize the construction of regional ecological civilization.

Business women and their companies, powerful drivers of international economic development, are characterised by certain idiosyncrasies. The present study aimed to analyse the effect of financial support for female entrepreneurship on the number and characteristics of such endeavours. Data for 2005-2012 drawn from the database of new company projects financed by AVALMADRID SGR were analysed with univariate and bivariate methods. The findings revealed differences between female and male entrepreneurship and showed that women’s business activities are more intense when specific support is available from financial institutions. This paper proposes a hybrid model for evaluating the effectiveness of new and old kinetic energy conversion (NOKEC), China’s major strategic move aiming to transform the mode of economic growth and improvie the quality of economic development. Considering the goals of NOKEC and the supporting roles of power industry to NOKEC, this paper constructs an index system for NOKEC effectiveness evaluation from an electric power economics perspective, involving three dimensions and 17 secondary indicators. Furthermore, a hybrid evaluation model based on DEMATEL-ANP and DQ-GRA techniques is developed to accomplish the evaluation of Shandong’s NOKEC effectiveness. The results show that Shandong’s NOKEC effectiveness increased from 2015–2017, indicating that Shandong’s NOKEC policies have achieved remarkable results. According to the evaluation results, this paper puts forward the indicators that should be paid close attention to and the following work priorities in Shandong’s future NOKEC process, which has certain practical value for the promotion of Shandong’s NOKEC. In addition, the evaluation model proposed in this paper considers the interrelationships between indicators and overcomes the shortcomings of traditional GRA, showing good applicability to similar effectiveness evaluation issues. Finally, the limitations and universality of the model are discussed and the improvement direction is put forward.

The article examines the interaction of the national economy of Ukraine with international credit and financial organizations, evaluates the positive and negative consequences and identifies possible areas for further cooperation. The role of international credit and financial organizations in the development of the global economy is analyzed. Today, international financial institutions have taken a leading place among institutions that provide financial support and contribute to the implementation of necessary reforms aimed at developing enterprises in various sectors of the economy and strengthening the country's financial sector as a whole. The importance of cooperation between Ukraine and international financial institutions for the development of the country's economy has been determined. The problems and directions of development of cooperation with leading credit and financial organizations in modern conditions are identified. Despite the presence of certain shortcomings, cooperation between Ukraine and international credit and financial organizations will continue in the future.

AbstractThis work presents a regularized eigenstrain formulation around the slip plane of dislocations and the resultant non-singular solutions for various dislocation configurations. Moreover, we derive the generalized Eshelby stress tensor of the configurational force theory in the context of the proposed dislocation model. Based on the non-singular finite element solutions and the generalized configurational force formulation, we calculate the driving force on dislocations of various configurations, including single edge/screw dislocation, dislocation loop, interaction between a vacancy dislocation loop and an edge dislocation, as well as a dislocation cluster. The non-singular solutions and the driving force results are well benchmarked for different cases. The proposed formulation and the numerical scheme can be applied to any general dislocation configuration with complex geometry and loading conditions.

AbstractThe research measures the driving force of innovation in economic structure transition. In order to change the pattern of economic development, China is implementing a strategy of innovation-driven development. China’s capacity of innovation has been increasing, especially since 2012, and China’s innovations have taken a leap-forward development. Nowadays, innovation has become a main driving force in China’s economic development and hi-tech industries particularly make a great contribution. Although China’s tertiary industry has been dominant and its share in three industrial sectors has been exceeding 50% since 2015, a problem still exists in China’s economy that the proportions of primary and secondary industries are relatively higher compared with developed countries. In this paper we use PLSR model to measure the impact of innovation on China’s economic structure transition. It is found that innovation can expand the tertiary industry through shrinking the proportions of primary and secondary industries, transforming China’s economic structure into a more advanced pattern. Additionally, China is also devoting itself to the “Belt and Road Initiative”, which should be combined with China’s domestic innovation-driven development and realize sustainable development of economy worldwide.

Abstract The role of scale interactions in the maintenance of eddy kinetic energy (EKE) during the extreme phases of the intraseasonal oscillation (ISO) is examined through the construction of a new eddy energetics diagnostic tool that separates the effects of ISO and a low-frequency background state (LFBS; with periods longer than 90 days). The LFBS always contributes positively toward the EKE in the boreal summer, regardless of the ISO phases. The synoptic eddies extract energy from the ISO during the ISO active phase. This positive barotropic energy conversion occurs when the synoptic eddies interact with low-level cyclonic and convergent–confluent ISO flows. This contrasts with the ISO suppressed phase during which the synoptic eddies lose kinetic energy to the ISO flow. The anticyclonic and divergent–diffluent ISO flows during the suppressed phase are responsible for the negative barotropic energy conversion. A positive (negative) EKE tendency occurs during the ISO suppressed-to-active (active-to-suppressed) transitional phase. The cause of this asymmetric EKE tendency is attributed to the spatial phase relation among the ISO vorticity, eddy structure, and EKE. The southwest–northeast-tilted synoptic disturbances interacting with cyclonic (anticyclonic) vorticity of ISO lead to a positive (negative) EKE tendency in the northwest region of the maximum EKE center. The genesis number and location and intensification rate of tropical cyclones in the western North Pacific are closely related to the barotropic energy conversion. The enhanced barotropic energy conversion favors the generation and development of synoptic seed disturbances, some of which eventually grow into tropical cyclones.
