Over the past years the exponential growth of social media usage has given the power to every individual to share their opinions freely. This has led to numerous threats allowing users to exploit their freedom of speech, thus spreading hateful comments, using abusive language, carrying out personal attacks, and sometimes even to the extent of cyberbullying. However, determining abusive content is not a difficult task and many social media platforms have solutions available already but at the same time, many are searching for more efficient ways and solutions to overcome this issue. Traditional models explore machine learning models to identify negative content posted on social media. Shaming categories are explored, and content is put in place according to the label. Such categorization is easy to detect as the contextual language used is direct. However, the use of irony to mock or convey contempt is also a part of public shaming and must be considered while categorizing the shaming labels. In this research paper, various shaming types, namely toxic, severe toxic, obscene, threat, insult, identity hate, and sarcasm are predicted using deep learning approaches like CNN and LSTM. These models have been studied along with traditional models to determine which model gives the most accurate results.

Broadly cyberbullying is viewed as a severe social danger that influences many individuals around the globe, particularly young people and teenagers. The Arabic world has embraced technology and continues using it in different ways to communicate inside social media platforms. However, the Arabic text has drawbacks for its complexity, challenges, and scarcity of its resources. This paper investigates several questions related to the content of how to protect an Arabic text from cyberbullying/harassment through the information posted on Twitter. To answer this question, we collected the Arab corpus covering the topics with specific words, which will explain in detail. We devised experiments in which we investigated several learning approaches. Our results suggest that deep learning models like LSTM achieve better performance compared to other traditional yberbullying classifiers with an accuracy of 72%.

A growing body of evidence currently proposes that deep learning approaches can serve as an essential cornerstone for the diagnosis and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). In light of the latest advancements in neuroimaging and genomics, numerous deep learning models are being exploited to distinguish AD from normal controls and/or to distinguish AD from mild cognitive impairment in recent research studies. In this review, we focus on the latest developments for AD prediction using deep learning techniques in cooperation with the principles of neuroimaging and genomics. First, we narrate various investigations that make use of deep learning algorithms to establish AD prediction using genomics or neuroimaging data. Particularly, we delineate relevant integrative neuroimaging genomics investigations that leverage deep learning methods to forecast AD on the basis of incorporating both neuroimaging and genomics data. Moreover, we outline the limitations as regards to the recent AD investigations of deep learning with neuroimaging and genomics. Finally, we depict a discussion of challenges and directions for future research. The main novelty of this work is that we summarize the major points of these investigations and scrutinize the similarities and differences among these investigations.

<p>Machine learning is being presented as a new solution for a wide range of geoscience problems. Primarily machine learning has been used for 3D seismic data processing, seismic facies analysis and well log data correlation. The rapid development in technology with open-source artificial intelligence libraries and the accessibility of affordable computer graphics processing units (GPU) makes the application of machine learning in geosciences increasingly tractable. However, the application of artificial intelligence in structural interpretation workflows of subsurface datasets is still ambiguous. This study aims to use machine learning techniques to classify images of folds and fold-thrust structures. Here we show that convolutional neural networks (CNNs) as supervised deep learning techniques provide excellent algorithms to discriminate between geological image datasets. Four different datasets of images have been used to train and test the machine learning models. These four datasets are a seismic character dataset with five classes (faults, folds, salt, flat layers and basement), folds types with three classes (buckle, chevron and conjugate), fault types with three classes (normal, reverse and thrust) and fold-thrust geometries with three classes (fault bend fold, fault propagation fold and detachment fold). These image datasets are used to investigate three machine learning models. One Feedforward linear neural network model and two convolutional neural networks models (Convolution 2d layer transforms sequential model and Residual block model (ResNet with 9, 34, and 50 layers)). Validation and testing datasets forms a critical part of testing the model’s performance accuracy. The ResNet model records the highest performance accuracy score, of the machine learning models tested. Our CNN image classification model analysis provides a framework for applying machine learning to increase structural interpretation efficiency, and shows that CNN classification models can be applied effectively to geoscience problems. The study provides a starting point to apply unsupervised machine learning approaches to sub-surface structural interpretation workflows.</p>

Social media platforms play a tremendous role in the tourism and hospitality industry. Social media platforms are increasingly becoming a source of information. The complexity and increasing size of tourists' online data make it difficult to extract meaningful insights using traditional models. Therefore, this scoping and comprehensive review aimed to analyze machine learning and deep learning models applied to model tourism data. The study revealed that deep learning and machine learning models are used for forecasting and predicting tourism demand using data from search query data, Google trends, and social media platforms. Also, the study revealed that data-driven models can assist managers and policymakers in mapping and segmenting tourism hotspots and attractions and predicting revenue that is likely to be generated, exploring targeting marketing, segmenting tourists based on their spending patterns, lifestyle, and age group. However, hybrid deep learning models such as inceptionV3, MobilenetsV3, and YOLOv4 are not yet explored in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Amid the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, the closure of educational institutes leads to an unprecedented rise in online learning. For limiting the impact of COVID-19 and obstructing its widespread, educational institutions closed their campuses immediately and academic activities are moved to e-learning platforms. The effectiveness of e-learning is a critical concern for both students and parents, specifically in terms of its suitability to students and teachers and its technical feasibility with respect to different social scenarios. Such concerns must be reviewed from several aspects before e-learning can be adopted at such a larger scale. This study endeavors to investigate the effectiveness of e-learning by analyzing the sentiments of people about e-learning. Due to the rise of social media as an important mode of communication recently, people’s views can be found on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. This study uses a Twitter dataset containing 17,155 tweets about e-learning. Machine learning and deep learning approaches have shown their suitability, capability, and potential for image processing, object detection, and natural language processing tasks and text analysis is no exception. Machine learning approaches have been largely used both for annotation and text and sentiment analysis. Keeping in view the adequacy and efficacy of machine learning models, this study adopts TextBlob, VADER (Valence Aware Dictionary for Sentiment Reasoning), and SentiWordNet to analyze the polarity and subjectivity score of tweets’ text. Furthermore, bearing in mind the fact that machine learning models display high classification accuracy, various machine learning models have been used for sentiment classification. Two feature extraction techniques, TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency) and BoW (Bag of Words) have been used to effectively build and evaluate the models. All the models have been evaluated in terms of various important performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The results reveal that the random forest and support vector machine classifier achieve the highest accuracy of 0.95 when used with Bow features. Performance comparison is carried out for results of TextBlob, VADER, and SentiWordNet, as well as classification results of machine learning models and deep learning models such as CNN (Convolutional Neural Network), LSTM (Long Short Term Memory), CNN-LSTM, and Bi-LSTM (Bidirectional-LSTM). Additionally, topic modeling is performed to find the problems associated with e-learning which indicates that uncertainty of campus opening date, children’s disabilities to grasp online education, and lagging efficient networks for online education are the top three problems.

In the past few decades human beings have knowledgeable tremendous intensification in the interaction in particular micro blogging websites and various social media as online resources. Many kinds of data have been used and classification data to group and store are challenging in this real world scenario. Various machine and Natural Language Processing (NLP) were being applied to analysis the sentiment. A major concentration of this work was on using several machine learning algorithms to perform sentimental analysis and comparing various machine learning models for the sentiment classification. This work analysed various sentimental using multiple classifications. From the evaluation of this experiment, it can be concluded that NLP and machine learning Techniques are efficient for sentimental analysis.

In social media, depression identification could be regarded as a complex task because of the complicated nature associated with mental disorders. In recent times, there has been an evolution in this research area with growing popularity of social media platforms as these have become a fundamental part of people's day-to-day life. Social media platforms and their users share a close relationship due to which the users' personal life is reflected in these platforms on several levels. Apart from the associated complexity in recognising mental illnesses via social media platforms, implementing supervised machine learning approaches like deep neural networks is yet to be adopted in a large scale because of the inherent difficulties associated with procuring sufficient quantities of annotated training data. Because of such reasons, we have made effort to identify deep learning model that is most effective from amongst selected architectures with previous successful record in supervised learning methods. The selected model is employed to recognise online users that display depression; since there is limited unstructured text data that could be extracted from Twitter.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has influenced the everyday life of people around the globe. In general and during lockdown phases, people worldwide use social media network to state their viewpoints and general feelings concerning the pandemic that has hampered their daily lives. Twitter is one of the most commonly used social media platforms, and it showed a massive increase in tweets related to coronavirus, including positive, negative, and neutral tweets, in a minimal period. The researchers move toward the sentiment analysis and analyze the various emotions of the public toward COVID-19 due to the diverse nature of tweets. Meanwhile, people have expressed their feelings regarding the vaccinations' safety and effectiveness on social networking sites such as Twitter. As an advanced step, in this paper, our proposed approach analyzes COVID-19 by focusing on Twitter users who share their opinions on this social media networking site. The proposed approach analyzes collected tweets' sentiments for sentiment classification using various feature sets and classifiers. The early detection of COVID-19 sentiments from collected tweets allow for a better understanding and handling of the pandemic. Tweets are categorized into positive, negative, and neutral sentiment classes. We evaluate the performance of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) classifiers using evaluation metrics (i.e., accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score). Experiments prove that the proposed approach provides better accuracy of 96.66, 95.22, 94.33, and 93.88% for COVISenti, COVIDSenti_A, COVIDSenti_B, and COVIDSenti_C, respectively, compared to all other methods used in this study as well as compared to the existing approaches and traditional ML and DL algorithms.

With the widespread of modern technologies and social media networks, a new form of bullying occurring anytime and anywhere has emerged. This new phenomenon, known as cyberaggression or cyberbullying, refers to aggressive and intentional acts aiming at repeatedly causing harm to other person involving rude, insulting, offensive, teasing or demoralising comments through online social media. As these aggressions represent a threatening experience to Internet users, especially kids and teens who are still shaping their identities, social relations and well-being, it is crucial to understand how cyberbullying occurs to prevent it from escalating. Considering the massive information on the Web, the developing of intelligent techniques for automatically detecting harmful content is gaining importance, allowing the monitoring of large-scale social media and the early detection of unwanted and aggressive situations. Even though several approaches have been developed over the last few years based both on traditional and deep learning techniques, several concerns arise over the duplication of research and the difficulty of comparing results. Moreover, there is no agreement regarding neither which type of technique is better suited for the task, nor the type of features in which learning should be based. The goal of this work is to shed some light on the effects of learning paradigms and feature engineering approaches for detecting aggressions in social media texts. In this context, this work provides an evaluation of diverse traditional and deep learning techniques based on diverse sets of features, across multiple social media sites.

Rail track is a critical component of rail systems. Accidents or interruptions caused by rail track anomalies usually possess severe outcomes. Therefore, rail track condition monitoring is an important task. Over the past decade, deep learning techniques have been rapidly developed and deployed. In the paper, we review the existing literature on applying deep learning to rail track condition monitoring. Potential challenges and opportunities are discussed for the research community to decide on possible directions. Two application cases are presented to illustrate the implementation of deep learning to rail track condition monitoring in practice before we conclude the paper.
