Emergence of a possibility of Internet access at school bears new opportunities and risks too. The tendency to growth of number of the pupils Internet use for non-class-related purposes in the classroom (Cyberloafing) causes concern. Studying of this new phenomenon at the Russian school is complicated due to the lack of reliable and valid techniques. Therefore, adaptation of a scale of a cyberloafing of Y. Akbulut, etc. became an objective of this research. We translated into Russian of 29 items of a technique which were estimated by school students by means of 5-point Laykert scales. Results of application of a scale showed that its items form 5 factors. These are online shopping, accessing online content, activity on social networks, sharing information, socialization. The items of a factor of playing online games did not receive confirmation of validity and internal consistency. They need to be reconsidered. The received factors have sufficient reliability (the Cronbach’s alpha (α) values of all the factors range from 0.77 to 0.881). Work makes a contribution to studying of a cyberloafing at school.

Abstrak: Bagi generasi pasca milenial penggunaan internet sangat akrab tetapi dengan berbagai tujuan penggunaan. Penelitian ini ingin melihat keterkaitan penggunaan internet oleh penduduk yang sedang sekolah untuk kepentingan penyelesaian tugas sekolah di Indonesia untuk mendapatkan hasil belajar yang baik. Analisis berdasarkan data sekunder dari Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasional tahun 2018. Hanya saja data yang didapatkan tidak simetris dengan adanya pencilan. Regresi kuantil digunakan untuk meminimumkan pengaruh dari pencilan yang ada. Penelitian mendapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat kaitan yang erat antara akses internet dari penduduk yang sedang sekolah dengan penyelesaian tugas sekolah.  Hasil regresi kuantil menunjukkan bahwa proporsi akses internet untuk penyelesaian tugas sekolah berbeda antar golongan proporsi penggunaan internet. Proporsi penggunaan internet yang tinggi akan digunakan untuk penyelesaian tugas sekolah yang lebih tinggi pula. Abstract: For the post millennial generation the use of the internet is very familiar but with various purposes of use. This study wants to look at the relationship between the use of the internet by residents who are currently in school for the sake of completing school work in Indonesia to get good learning outcomes. Analysis based on secondary data from the 2018 National Socio-Economic Survey. It's just that the data obtained is not symmetrical with outliers. Quantile regression is used to minimize the effect of outliers. The study found that there was a close relationship between internet access from residents who were in school and completion of school work. The quantile regression results show that the proportion of internet access for completing school work differs between groups of proportions of internet use. A high proportion of internet use will be used for completing higher school work.

Purpose To evaluate rates, predictors, and barriers to use of the Internet to obtain cancer information among a cohort of cancer patients at an urban county hospital. Patients and Methods Of 208 cancer patients approached, 200 patients completed a structured interview study examining Internet use, perceptions of the accuracy of Internet information, and barriers to use. Results Only 10% of participants reported using the Internet themselves to obtain cancer information. Another 21% reported exposure to Internet information through proxies. The most common barrier to Internet use cited was lack of Internet access, with 44% reporting that they would use the Internet to obtain cancer information if they had Internet access. Younger age and more years of formal education were significantly associated with Internet use, although race and income were not. Less education, African American race, and female sex were associated with lower estimates of the accuracy of Internet information. Fewer years of formal education was associated with increased likelihood of reporting confusion after reading Internet information. Conclusion Very few cancer patients in this study of a cohort of generally disadvantaged individuals used the Internet themselves to obtain cancer information, although many more desired to do so. Significant opportunities for Web-based interventions aimed at improving cancer care outcomes in this population of cancer patients exist. However, further study will be needed to determine how to make such intervention accessible, trustworthy, and understandable to the disadvantaged.

The aim of this study was to examine parents' perceptions of the online benefits and dangers that their children encounter. Ninety-six parents participated in the study (82.3% mothers and 17.7% fathers). Participants, parents of children attending primary school, filled out a questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic questions and a scale of attitudes about the benefits and dangers of electronic media (computers, the Internet and mobile phones). The results of the research showed that the frequency of the Internet use is related to the parents’ perception of the benefits and dangers of the Internet. It was found that the more often parents use the internet, the less danger they perceive, and more benefits, and vice versa, the less often they use the Internet, they perceive more dangers and fewer benefits. At the same time, the results showed that the level of parental education is not significantly related to their perception of the benefits or dangers that their children encounter on the Internet. By increasing awareness of this issue and examining the actual state, teachers can specifically educate children and also parents about the safe use of the Internet.

Generation Z falls into the internet generation because it is the first generation born after the popularisation of the internet. Even though scientists don’t agree on when this generation starts and when it ends, after all, it is believed that the generation Z is made of people that are born in the nineties until today. Their parents belong to the millennial generation that is born in the eighties. Generation Z is the first generation that was raised as a part of the trend of being in the publics' eye, always posting about their lives on social networks. This potentially makes them an egocentric generation and a generation that does not have enough empathy. Although empathy is one of the key characteristics for happiness, generation Z finds happiness in their personal appearance and they care a lot about the opinions of others, that is, they care about the number of likes and the number of followers on social networks. Even though empathy is a key trait of happiness, generation Z finds happiness in physical appearance, and in others' opinion, that is they care about how many likes and how many followers on social networks they have. The purpose of this paper is to examine emotional empathy with the generation that is born in the late nineties, until generations 2006-2007, on a sample of 200 primary and high school students with an assumption that later generations are more empathic and that there is a difference between male and female subjects, that is that females are more empathic. Also, the paper provides case reports that represent the clinical population and not the average representatives of this generation and whose psychological problems may be associated with excessive use of the Internet and social networks. The results of the research indicate that the feeling of insecurity and lack of empathy in this generation is a risk factor for the development of low self-esteem and self-confidence, and ultimately more severe mental disorders, which can be reduced and prevented by a different approach to this generation.

Because of their social isolation, irregular and unpredictable schedules, limited access to health care, and long periods of travel, long-haul truckers may benefit from the use of mobile health applications on Internet-capable devices. The purpose of this study was to determine Internet access and usage among a sample of long-haul truck drivers. In this cross-sectional study, truck drivers completed a pencil and paper survey with questions on demographics, work and health histories, and Internet access and usage for both personal and job reasons. A total of 106 truck drivers were recruited from trucking industry trade shows, by word of mouth, and directly from trucking companies. Overall, the truck drivers’ use of the Internet was limited. Their usage for personal and job-related reasons differed. Social connectivity and access to health and wellness information were important during personal usage time. Job-related Internet use was highly practical, and applied to seeking information for directions and maps, fuel stops and pricing, and communicating with employers or transmitting documents. Age and experience were associated with Internet use. Younger, less-experienced drivers used the Internet more than older, experienced drivers. Targeted mobile health messaging may be a useful tool to inform truck drivers of health conditions and plans, and may provide links to primary care providers needing to monitor or notify drivers of diagnostic results or treatment plans.

Internet revolutionized our lifestyle. New generation devices like smartphones and tablets allow us to be always connected: the web represents a significant part of our days. These epochal changes bring with them questions about the potentialities and the risks of web. This chapter introduces a research whose purpose is to investigate the Onlife during emerging adulthood divided into two groups—youngerEA (18-24) and olderEA (25-29)—considering both the problematic and the functional side of the use of the internet. Self-esteem, self-control, online and offline social support were considered as factor that influenced the internet use habits. Typology of social networks, time spent online, device used, and number of online contacts are considered. Results show significant differences between youngerEA and olderEA in the use of the web both in problematic and functional way.

Aims: In recent years, the internet has been seen as a positive tool that simplify various activities of human life. However, internet use is also seen as negatively impacting the lives of adolescents, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic. This study aimed to explore the life experiences of adolescent girls who became addicted to the internet while learning from home during the Covid 19 pandemic. Methods: This was a qualitative phenomenology study was conducted in West Java Province, Indonesia. Total sample was 13 adolescent girls which obtained by purposive sampling technique. The inclusion criteria for this study were high school students from high schools; experienced moderate internet addition as evidenced by the result of the Internet Addiction Test (IAT); and able to communicate in Indonesian. Exclusion criteria was participants with communication problem and psychiatric disorders such as depression and schizophrenia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analysis was performed using the Collaizzi approach. Results: Five themes were identified in this study: constant use of the internet due to boredom, bad mood, and curiosity; health issues due to internet use; easily influenced by internet contents; tend to forget learning materials and lazy to learn; and parental supervision. Conclusion: Adolescent girls with internet addiction have a complex life as they are easily influenced by what they see on the internet. In addition, these girls also experience various health problems. The results of this study can provide information to the public and health workers about the importance of monitoring the use of the internet among adolescents. Controlling the use of the internet is still necessary for internet use and is good and in accordance with the needs and based on the development of adolescents.

This study investigates the levels and patterns of use of the Internet among secondary school students in Al Ain City, United Arab Emirates, and attempts to assess the levels of parental supervision at home. The prime aim of the study is to determine how widespread the Internet use is among UAE secondary students, and to examine the activities that the students adopt the Internet for. In conclusion, the study explores possible effects that the Internet use may have on the students’ social relations and other activities. A survey was designed and adapted to support the investigation, and a questionnaire was distributed to 100 secondary school students (50 boys and 50 girls) in six secondary schools in Al Ain city. The investigation findings revealed that the majority of the respondents use the Internet for communication and leisure rather than for educational purposes, while some respondents affirmed improved general knowledge and academic performances as a result of using the Internet. Whilst acknowledging the Internet potential positive impact on students’ educational performance, the study recommends that the use of the Internet should be monitored and guided by school authorities and parents, so as to prevent the misuse of this facility and to direct it towards teaching and learning improvement.

The Internet has become a very important source of health information. We wanted to determine otolaryngology patients’ access to, and use of, the Internet as a medical information resource, to identify factors that make patients more likely to use it, and to determine how useful they find this information.A questionnaire survey was completed by patients while waiting for their consultation in the out-patient department of the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in London. Five hundred and thirty-five questionnaires were completed. Sixty-four per cent (344/535) reported having access to the Web. Of the 344 with access, 62 (18 per cent) had searched the Web for medical information prior to their consultation. Higher education (p <0.001) and age between 18 and 40 years (p = 0.001) correlated significantly with higher Internet use. Ninety-five per cent planned to use the Internet again.Approximately one out of five otolaryngology out-patients with Internet access reported having obtained medical information from the Web before their consultation. The majority found it helpful to some degree and were planning to use it again. As clinicians we should be aware ofthis use and the onus should be on ourselves to review these sites in order to guide our patients to sources of reliable and helpful medical information on the Internet.

<p class="Abstrak">Penggunaan internet dimasyarakat global terus tumbuh, tak hanya terjadi pada masyarakat dewasa melainkan juga pada anak-anak. Internet tidak hanya berdampak pada hal positif melainkan juga pada hal negatif. Di Ternate penggunaan internet terus tumbuh hal ini karena semakin mudah dalam mengakses internet. Namun laporan secara ilmiah mengenai penggunaan internet di Kota Ternate belum ada. untuk itu, bagaimana mengetahui penggunaan internet dikalangan anak SD di kota Ternate. Penelitian itu bertujuan untuk mencari tahu penggunaan internet di Kota Ternate dengan cara  survey secara langsung kepada kalangan anak SD di kota Ternate. Selain itu, data-data dari hasil survey kemudian di <em>cluster</em> dengan menggunakan algoritma <em>k-means clustering</em>. kemudian dilakukan validasi <em>clustering</em> dengan <em>davies bouldin index</em>. Hasil dari penelitian ini dari 933 responden diperoleh 51,45 % siswa SD di kota Ternate aktif di jejaring sosial dengan 53,70% di <em>whatsapp</em>, 40,30% di <em>instagram</em> dan 27,80% di facebook. Untuk aktivitas ketika membuka youtube terdapat 61,60% sering menonton video di youtube dengan 61,60% video karton, komedi 49,80% dan konten edukasi 28,40%. Sedangkan untuk game online, yang aktif dalam bermain game online yaitu 49,41%. Untuk penerapan algoritma clustering k-means pada 32 sekolah SD di Kota Ternate diperoleh cluster terbaik saat pembagian 4 cluster, hal ini berdasarkan nilai davies bouldin index yang diperoleh sebesar 0,773 lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan pembagian cluster lainnya.</p><p class="Abstrak"> </p><p class="Abstrak"><em><strong>Abstract</strong></em></p><p class="Abstrak"><em>The use of the internet in the global community continues to grow, not only in adults but also in children. The internet does not only have positive effects but also negative things. In Ternate the use of the internet continues to grow because it is easier to access the internet. However, scientific reports regarding the use of the internet in the city of Ternate do not yet exist. for that, how to find out the use of the internet among elementary school children in the city of Ternate. The research aims to find out the use of the internet in the city of Ternate by means of a direct survey among elementary school children in the city of Ternate. In addition, the data from the survey results are then clustered using the k-means clustering algorithm. Then the clustering validation was performed with the bouldin index davies. The results of this study of 933 respondents obtained 51.45% of elementary school students in Ternate were active in social networks with 53.70% on whatsapp, 40.30% on Instagram and 27.80% on Facebook. For activities when opening YouTube there are 61.60% often watching videos on YouTube with 61.60% cardboard videos, comedy 49.80% and educational content 28.40%. As for online games, those active in playing online games are 49.41%. For the application of the k-means clustering algorithm in 32 elementary schools in Ternate, the best cluster was obtained when the division of 4 clusters, this was based on the bouldin index davies value obtained by 0.773 smaller than the other cluster divisions.</em></p>
