Research background: The global environment influences the behaviour of companies. This concerns the requirements for increasing number of products, product lines, brands, the need for market segmentation, consumer demand, innovations as well as the behaviour of consumers and suppliers including environmentally appropriate purchasing. The forest-based industries must respond to changes from the perspective of the globalization process by appropriate adaptation and, inter alia, to focus on the introduction of environmentally properly procurement. The integration of green purchasing principles into business systems is increasingly mentioned in the process of globalization of economies in connection with the huge potential for gaining a sustainable competitive advantage. Purpose of the article: The aim of the paper is to identify and analyze the factors affecting the implementation of environmentally friendly purchasing in the companies of forest-based sector in Slovakia. Methods: The reasons for implementing responsible practices in supply chains are based either on the stakeholder theory or the assumption that companies have a more proactive approach to implement sustainable purchasing practices as they are aware of the possible benefits. Using a questionnaire survey the companies operating in all sub-sectors of the forest-based industry - wood, pulp and paper and furniture manufacturing, including their suppliers of wood raw material in Slovakia, were questioned with the aim to identify the reasons for implementing sustainable purchasing practices. Findings & Value added: Data obtained are used to identify the factors that are crucial for the introduction of green purchasing in companies in dependence on the specific company characteristics and conditions of the market environment under which companies operate.

Cocoa is one of Indonesia’s plantation commodity that is important for the national economy. Cocoa plays a role in encouraging regional development and agro-industry. The purpose of this study was to find out the cocoa value chain in Indonesia and find out the impact of the downstream cocoa processing industry in Indonesia. The method used is literature study. The results of the analysis show that the downstreaming of the cocoa processing industry has a positive impact on Indonesia, the benefits of which are getting value added of raw material products, strengthening industrial structures, providing employment, attracting investors, and providing business opportunities in Indonesia.

The pharmaceutical industry of Pakistan is now meeting around 80% of total domestic demand with an annual11% growth rate. But the question arises as to whether the firms produce efficiently? The paper measures cost efficiency of the pharmaceutical industry of Punjab using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) for the period of 2014-15. The factors affecting the cost efficiency is also determined by using Tobit method. In first stage, value added is used as single output and number of employs, raw material, and cost of salary are as inputs. The result suggested that the cost efficiency of the pharmaceutical firms is 27.7% which is determined by 46% technical efficiency (TE) and 60.8% allocative efficiency (AE). It means wastage of resources is cost increasing factors in these firms. In the second stage, among the variables i.e. firm’s market share, firm’s Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) of market concentration, values of assets, energy, Herfindahl-Hirschman Index has strong positive effect on cost efficiency.

Article describes issues related to the assessment of raw materials grinding efficiency in an electromagnetic mill. Application of such type of mill in grinding processes can result in measurable benefits of more efficient raw material grinding by reducing time needed to produce a product of a suitable particle size compared to conventional mills. The expected effect of application of a system based on an electromagnetic mill is to achieve a lower energy consumption of grinding process for raw material processing compared to the existing equipment used for the fine grinding. A key element of correct design of comminution circuits in processing of particular feed mineral is to identify the impact of key factors affecting the efficiency of the grinding process. The most important factors determining the efficiency of the grinding process are the time, the construction parameters of the machine, the type of grinding media used in grinding process, as well as the parameters of the feed, among others the crushing resistance or particle size. The paper presents the results of kinetic study of copper ore grinding in electromagnetic mill for variable feed particle size distribution of and different sizes of grinding media.

Resumen En el caso del sector turismo, su competitividad  se define como la capacidad de un destino para crear e integrar productos con valor añadido, de tal forma que se logren empelar los recursos locales y que se logre mantener su posición dentro del mercado  (Hassan, 2000). Para México el Sector Turismo tiene gran importancia, por su participación en el PIB, el análisis de los factores que influyen en su nivel de eficiencia es fundamental, dado que de ella depende el nivel de competitividad. Estos factores pueden ser exógenos (los que determinan el entorno) y endógenos propios de la empresa. El objetivo en el trabajo es analizar el entorno macroeconómico en que se desarrollan las empresas turí­sticas en México y el impacto en los grados de competitividad para las empresas que se encuentran dentro del sector. Por tanto para lograr este fin, se parte metodológicamente de variables que determinan las prioridades del consumo del bien turí­stico (ocio e ingreso), para poder realizar el análisis de la demanda y de la oferta turí­stica, involucrando solo otras variables exógenas al  entorno macroeconómico siempre y cuando sean requeridas por el estudio. Corporate social responsibility is the responsibility of an individual company for the impact of its decisions and actions on society, the environment, through transparent and ethical behavior that promotes sustainable development, health and well-being of society, takes into account the expectations of stakeholders, complies with applicable law and international conduct. Taking into account that the main economic role of banks is to provide financial opportunities for business by increasing the monetization of the economy through cheap credit, promoting the production of high value-added goods, so that not to become a raw material appendage and a powerful supplier of labor to other countries it is important to analyse the social responsibility of banks in the context of ensuring the social and economic development of the state. The urgent task in the near future for Ukraine involves the formation of the concept of its development, focused on people, concentrating on financial investments in the basic infrastructure of cities in the field of education, medicine, ecology. One of the tools for this strategic task is the social responsibility of banks, based on their interaction with regional and local governments in order to form and develop partnerships to ensure the efficiency of business processes, soften the monetary policy of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) at the expense of money issued by commercial banks in the form of cheap loans. The article monitors the main areas of social responsibility in the banks of Ukraine, identifies obstacles to the active development of social responsibility of banks. The priority tasks set for Ukrainian banks to intensify their social responsibility are the formation and publication of a mandatory Management Report, also partnership of banks with influence groups, non-governmental organizations, as well as with local authorities, their systematic transition from project-based social responsibility to program-based activity in their initiatives, adaptation of international projects and strategies of banks to the Ukrainian market, introduction of innovative products and services in the operational activities of banks, which help to solve specific social problems and create new opportunities for people.

Research background: This paper studies the impact of a new so-called green factor on the capitalization of petroleum companies, which is becoming highly relevant in view of the signing of the Paris agreements in 2015 and the support for clean energy. Although society, international organizations, and government authorities encourage companies to reduce their environmental impact, one of the main reasons for responsible behavior is still economic efficiency. The oil industry, on the one hand, faces one of the most volatile markets and, on the other hand, has one of the largest environmental impacts of any industry. That requires a detailed study of interconnections between market capitalization and the green factor. Purpose of the article: A comprehensive study of factors affecting the level of capitalization of oil and gas companies in Russia and identification of the most significant among them with a special focus on the green factor. Methods: Econometric analysis of panel data for Russian petroleum companies. The database includes indicators for six major Russian oil companies from 2011 to 2018. The following groups of factors are analyzed to explain the change in the companies’ capitalization: macroeconomic (GDP and inflation in Russia), microeconomic (companies’ revenue, net profit, tax payment, return on assets, return on equity, ratio of borrowed capital to equity), industrial (oil export, refining, production and proven reserves of the companies), and the green factor. Findings & Value added: The selection of factors showed that the size of capitalization has been influenced most significantly by the following: the volume of the company's proven reserves, net profit, tax burden, and the green factor based on the policy of minimizing environmental damage. This result shows that investors consider companies with high environmental performance to be more valuable than companies with similar financial results but lower environmental ratings.

Health consciousness and environmental issues have been concerned greatly in recent years. In the cosmetics industry, these considerations initiated a tendency for Generation Z (Gen Z) to purchase green cosmetics instead of chemical cosmetics. This paper summarizes several theoretical foundations to build hypotheses and framework examining factors affecting Gen Z 's purchasing intention towards green cosmetics. Based on Value - Belief - Norm Theory (Stern, 2000), this research focuses on exploring the influence of psychological factors on green purchasing intentions (GPI). In addition, this study investigates the mediating effects of pro-environmental belief and personal norms on the relationship between the value orientations and the green purchasing intention. Finally, researchers will analyse data collected from people of different gender, ages and their monthly spending on cosmetics. A total of 655 valid responses were gathered through online and offline surveys using convenient sampling techniques. The authors evaluate the reliability (Cronbach's Alpha) and validity (EFA) by using SPSS 25 software, and test the study hypotheses by using SmartPLS 3.7 technique. The findings reveal that hedonic (β=0.290) and egoistic value orientation (β=0.237) indirectly affect GPI while personal norm exerts significant influence on GPI directly (β=0.419). The findings of the study have important implications for formulating appropriate governmental public policies and developing better marketing strategies for green cosmetics brands to approach customers.

Plastic pollution is one of the most concerning issues presently and Indonesia is the second largest plastic waste producer in the world. A substantial part of the plastic waste comes from non-degradable plastic straws. This research intends to seek whether consumers’ psychological factors have an impact on their green purchasing behavior with a case study of #NoStrawMovement in KFC Indonesia. The research has been carried out on 153 consumers. The outcome signified that all indicators of psychological factors do have an impact on consumers’ green purchasing behavior. Perceived knowledge about sustainability issues, spirituality, drive for environmental responsibility and perceived marketplace influence are the decisive factors affecting consumers’ green purchase behavior. It is revealed that psychological factors impact consumers’ green purchase behavior by 51.6%. The result of the research will be worthwhile for KFC Indonesia to further revamp the effectiveness of the movement and for the government to establish a policy that supports green purchasing behavior. Advocating green purchasing behavior within society could aid in alleviating the damage that has been previously caused to the environment.

The clothing manufacturing industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has faced many challenges at the local and international level. The implementation of the rules and regulations of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 have gained particular interest and operating with minimum costs has become one of the main objectives of small-size clothing factories. The impact of operating cost reduction on economic challenges facing the clothing factories has been studied with the aim to identify the challenges and economic factors affecting operating costs. It was concluded that some of the economic challenges are represented in the high operating cost caused by the application of new taxes, including the value-added tax (VAT), imposition of fees on non-Saudi workers and new amendments to the trade law. Minimizing operating costs through cutting-edge manufacturing technologies were found to be a key solution to ensure factories’ survival and sustainability.
