Abstract The resistance measurement system of thermal control device is mainly composed of four parts: fixture, interface circuit board, switches module and data acquisition system. The main contents of the system design are as follows: To make the system realize the automatic resistance measurement function of thermocouple, heating belt and heating plate, and improves the measurement speed and robustness of the software; To achieve the friendliness of human-machine interface; At room temperature, it can collect 40 output voltage signals of thermocouple, and judge whether the temperature collection of thermocouple is accurate or not.

Auto Thermal Control device is an electronic based device which employs the application of temperature sensors to controlling household appliances without human interference directly. In this work, thermal source is used to regulate electrical fan and room heater depending on ambient temperature. The room heater, which is adjusted to a set temperature, switches ‘ON’ when the temperature of a room is low (cold). While the same is switches ‘OFF’ with increase in the room temperature. This triggers ‘ON’ an electric fan at different speeds, and thus cools the room. A temperature sensor, tthermistor, monitors change in room temperature. Two types of thermistor exists: Positive Temperature Coefficient, PTC. An increasee in the resistance of PTC results in increasee in temperature). In the Negative Temperature Coefficient, NTC; a decreasee in resistance yields to temperature increase. This article explored a NTC thermistor. The design could be a ready product in the market of the developing nation where environmental automation is yet fully deployed.

Abstract Two designs of a microwave sensor have been developed for a device for built-in monitoring of microwave path parameters, built on the basis of a broadband quadrature measurement method. The first sensor design is made on the basis of a symmetrical strip line, the second - on the basis of a segment of a coaxial line. Each of the microwave sensor designs consists of three parts: a directional coupler and two non-directional measuring probes. The microwave sensor is designed to operate in the 1 - 2 GHz frequency range. The paper also proposes a variant of the circuitry implementation of the built-in microwave control device, which implements the procedure for broadband automatic measurement of the complex reflection coefficient and the power level in the microwave path based on the method of quadrature measurements. The device solves the problem of long-term automatic monitoring of parameters and timely detection of the beginning degradation of the antenna-feeder path.

The Spherical Wheeled Robot (Ball-Bot) is a family of robots that can maintain balance standing on a ball and use it as its wheel to move around. In recent years, there have been several successful Ball-Bot designs. We attempt to develop a new spherical wheeled robot product named "Q-Baller" to study its dynamics and control system. The Q-Baller has been designed to ahieve the economic and effective prototyping. A detailed dynamic model of the mechatronic system has been established and analyzed. Control studies have been conducted based on the dynamic models, and new control methods has been proposed to realize continuous gain scheduling. Exclusive simulations have been performed to test the performance of the controllers and reference planning. The Q-Baller hardware has been prototyped and functional. Robotic circuit board, human machine interface and embedded control system have also been developed to make up the full robotic system. The Q-Baller prototype will be tested after the system is fully adjusted, and further researches in control and robotics will be conducted in the future.

Abstract This paper introduces a new thermal control device which has not only low weight and high efficiency but also passive and active cooling capabilities. The thermal control device mainly consists of hollow graphene-enhanced-metallic microlattice material, phase change material (PCM) and a peristatic pump. The PCM is inside the spatial-interconnected millimeter-scale diameter tubes, which are the basic constitution of the hollow microlattice material, in addition, the peristatic pump was connected with the tubes and used to force the liquid-state PCM to circulate inside the interconnected thin tubes. Thus, the proposed thermal control device takes combined advantages of the ultralight and high thermal transfer properties of the hollow graphene-enhanced-metallic microlattice materials, the thermal storage capability of the PCM and forced convection of the PCM driven by the peristatic pump as the PCM is in liquid state. The manufacturing process of the active thermal control device was also developed and proposed, which mainly includes additive manufacturing, composite electroless plating, polymer etching, liquid phase change material injecting and the peristatic pump connecting. In addition to that, a thermal test system was built and the effective thermal conductivities of the thermal control device in passive cooling and with active cooling modes were experimentally studied. The thermal control device can absorb heat and actively dissipate heat by means of forced convection. Consequently, the proposed active thermal control device can be used to guarantee the electronic components and spacecrafts operate in a specific temperature range.

In this paper, several aspects were studied, including the effect of an electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise interference strategy with High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) 1.4, the analysis of a test on a printed circuit board (PCB) layout, and a comparison of the near field intensity radiation distribution between an EMI with a modified HDMI layout and an original layout. In this study, the near field detection instrument of APREL EM-ISight was employed to analyze the distribution of the strength of an electromagnetic noise field. After the practical validation, we found that the PCB layout complies with the standards after the modifications. Meanwhile, the PCB layout satisfies the requirements of most laptop HDMI-related products for EMI.

<span>A battery-less energy harvesting interface circuit to extract electrical energy from vibration has been proposed in this paper for low power applications. The voltage doubler integrated with DC – DC boost converter circuits were designed and simulated using MultiSIM software. The circuit was then fabricated onto a printed circuit board (PCB), using standard fabrication process. The Cockcroft Walton doubler was chosen to be implemented in this study by utilizing diode-capacitor topologies with additional RC low pass filter. The DC – DC boost converter has been designed using a CMOS step -up DC – DC switching regulators, which are suitable for low input voltage system. The achievement of this interface circuit was able to boost up the maximum voltage of 5 V for input voltage of 800 mV.</span>

In order to meet the high speed, high precision, high reliability of the packaging machine, a novel control system is provided. In the hardware, the main circuits consisted of main processor module, memory module, temperature measurement and control module, input signal detection module, material split packing module, output driver module, human-machine interface module, system monitor module, power module and JTAG debug module, etc. In the software, the multi-tasking operating system μC/OS-Ⅱ and the graphical user interface μC/GUI were successfully transplanted into LPC2478. Then an experimental platform was established. And many control tasks, including automatic measurement, making bags, loading, transferring, pumping vacuum, sealing and data display, were automatically and continuously executed on the platform. Finally the results show: the machine can package 30 packets (5 g per packet) in a minute; the packaging errors ≤ 0.2 g; the packaging qualified rates ≥ 93%. In conclusion, the system performance is good.
