Abstract Today, the total scientific classification of solid industrial waste is absent because of their diversity. The task of universal of mineral technogenic waste recycling is complicated by the difference in their composition. The nature of the chemical elements that make up building materials is always taken into account to predict their properties. In this regard, the purpose of the study was to determine the classification characteristics of mineral technogenic waste recycling on the basis of natural-scientific ideas about the electronic structure of the atom. Studies were conducted on model systems with ceramic oxides entering s-, p-, d- elements in ceramic matrix to test the impact of the electronic structure of the mineral waste cation on operational characteristics of building materials. The experimental results showed that the strength of the samples changes in the series s → p → d of the belonging of the introduced oxide cation to the electronic family. Additionally, such an indicator as the energy-gap width was used to study the nature of the contacting solid phases. It is possible to identify which substances in technogenic raw materials have the greatest effect on the performance of the material in value of the energy-gap width.

One of the most urgent environmental problems today is the pollution of the environment by emissions of harmful substances and industrial waste. The negative impact on the environment and people is becoming more widespread, and its disposal methods inhibit the development of the economic system. In a market economy, entrepreneurs are not interested in increasing environmental costs, which naturally lead to higher production costs and reduce profits. The impact on the environment is becoming more widespread every year and has led to an ecological crisis in some parts of the world. Waste recycling has been constantly discussed since a person “produces” more than 250 kg of household waste per year. At the enterprise, these figures reach 10 000 kg. In recent years, Ukraine has imported about 30-50 thousand tons of PET granulate, which is gradually accumulating in landfills in the form of packaging, bottles, films. Such hazardous pollutants affect the environment through soil and water. In contrast, Ukraine does not yet have successful experience in waste management. In our opinion, such behavior is the ignorance of the population about waste disposal and replacement of a particular product with a more environmentally friendly one. The functioning of enterprises and farms does not always have the equipment to dispose of waste, and there is no room for the disposal of unnecessary products and raw materials. However, the problem of lack of innovative equipment arises due to a lack of adequate funding. Therefore, the lack of possibilities for a comprehensive solution to the situation creates a barrier, which does not allow to take proper measures to eliminate and reduce the amount of garbage. Despite many regulations and legal frameworks for regulating waste management, there is no cost-effective policy, and there is no regional waste management program and plan for their proper disposal. It can be concluded that the recycling and disposal of waste will reduce the need for waste incineration, create conditions for improving the economic component of the region and the country as a whole with an account of environmental quality standards. The paper pays attention to the essence of waste disposal; identified ways to recycle garbage.

Cuba has recently endured the impact of hurricanes Lili (1996), George (1998), Irene (1999), Michelle (2001), Isidore (2002), Lili (2002), Charlie and Ivan (2004). The provinces of Villa Clara, Matanzas and Pinar del Río have suffered the major damage, basically in coastal towns where thousands of houses have been destroyed, and families displaced from their homes. Tackling this problem proves to be complicated. Decision-makers face two choices: (a) to concentrate the scarce resources - including post disaster aid - on emergency actions to reduce only the damages caused by the hurricane, or (b) to improve in a sustainable way existing houses through better and more efficient material supply. In both cases, the possibility of local production of building materials becomes a crucial factor. The Centre for Investigation and Development of Structures and Materials (CIDEM) has been involved in disaster-response projects in the area since 1996. The thrust has been the manufacture of ecomaterials such as micro concrete roofing (MCR) tiles, pozzolanic cement CP-40 and hollow concrete blocks, which provide the means to build affordable and hurricane safe houses. These materials are produced on the basis of local raw materials and labour in small workshops based directly in the communities. The widespread use of ecomaterials on the northern coast of Villa Clara province has been a key aspect in decreasing the vulnerability of the houses against hurricanes. The fact that these materials have withstood the impact of various hurricanes without significant damage has drawn the attention of local governments, communities and donors. The presentation of case studies in this paper will illustrate this experience.

The issues of preventing chemical exposure of the products of mining and processing of mineral raw materials on the population of mining facilities are considered. The results are presented concerning assessment of the correlation between the intensity of chemical pollution of the infrastructure of mining enterprises and the health of miners and the population living in the vicinity of a mining enterprise by means of clinical and biochemical examination of residents. It is established that the negative effect of mining production on the health of the population is a consequence of development technologies with the abandonment of untreated ores in the cavities, where physicochemical processes of natural leaching are developing. It is shown that the known methods of fixing dumps reduce only the parameters of dust pollution without effecting the contamination of the territory with metal solutions, and the forms of finding chemical elements in the tailings of processing do not prevent their inclusion in the biological cycles of living creatures, therefore, the radical measure to prevent progressive morbidity is only the extraction of metals from the tailings of ore processing during disposal. It is established that the speed and direction of exomorphodynamic processes are determined by the parameters of movement of the mobile fractions of metallic minerals. The activity of natural leaching processes is a consequence of the development technologies and can be reduced by using controlled leaching of metal-containing minerals. The formula for the dependence of the parameters of chemical pollution on the distance to the pollution focus is obtained. The assessment of social damage from the effect of the polluted environment on health of the population only by expanses on the treatment of the population and social security services during disability is incorrect, because the impact of metals is much larger. The use of tailings for processing waste from the mining cycle after bringing it to a safe state in terms of metal content allows to reduce morbidity of workers and the population of residential areas of mining production.

Natural radionuclides include the 238U and 232Th radioactive families with daughter decay products and 40K potassium. In addition to these, the raw materials may contain man-made radioactive nuclides formed due to accidents at the nuclear facilities and its uncontrolled release into the environment (for example, 137Cs). Reducing the impact of radiation exposure on humans and the environment is an urgent task, both in Russia and abroad, given the rapid quantitative growth of the range, manufacturers, suppliers and consumers of building materials associated with the general trend of urbanization. Currently, there is a large number of studies on the natural and man-made radioactivity of building materials. As a rule, they present disparate and local scientific results, which complicates their accessibility to a wide range of interested parties manufacturers and consumers of construction products. Therefore, it is necessary that information on the radiation and environmental cleanliness of various materials and products was easily accessible to all comers. An information system on the natural and man-made radioactivity of building materials and products should become a tool for solving this problem. The work outlines the principles of creation and practical implementation, structure and content, goals, objectives of the field of destination and application of the information system for natural and man-made radioactivity of building materials and products.

The leaves of C. sanguinea Pall. have the potential to accumulate dust on the surface. As the fine dust particles contain various chemical elements (ChEs), we studied the ChE composition in the leaves with different degrees of dust contamination to assess the impact on assay results. The samples of C. sanguinea leaves collected in the Kemerovo region (Russia) were divided into two groups based on the visual condition of plant material: clean leaves and dust contaminated leaves. The total ash assay revealed higher ash content, exceeding pharmacopoeial standards in the dust contaminated group. Dust contaminated leaf samples demonstrated significantly higher concentrations of many ChE: Si, Fe, Al, Na, Ti, Ni, Zr, Cr, V, Pb, La, Ga, Y, Sc and Yb comparing to non-contaminated plant material. The values of potentially hazardous ChEs were significantly lower than the maximum levels specified for medicinal raw materials in all studied samples.

Whenever architects and interior designers start to think about a project, one of the first things they consider is the materials that will be used in the production of the project. There is little research exploring the impact of globalization on the level of using imported and local building materials in Jordan. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the impact of globalization on the level of using imported and local building materials in Jordan and explore the impact of using imported building materials on the level of using local building materials in Jordan. For the purpose of this study, data gathered about the usage of imported building materials in Jordan and analyzed to observe any drops of rises of using specific building materials. Also, this data was used to understand the most common imported building materials used. This study requires a total understanding of the relationship between globalization and building materials and their impact on the economy and the usage of imported and local building materials. comprehension of this relationship will make it possible to find solutions to integrate the use of imported building materials and local materials. Globalization impact can be observed in other sectors in Jordan. The building materials market is being affected by the phenomenon of globalization. It was found that there is a noticeable increase in imported building materials or raw materials that are needed to manufacture building materials. If the attitude toward the usage of local building materials in Jordan keep decreases and relying on imported building materials in the construction section, there will be a recession in the local building materials in Jordan. Having this recession will have a greater impact on the building materials and local factories in the long term.

Implementation of "Green Building" in construction is the responsibility of all parties involved in the construction project. The Office of the Federal Environment Executive (OFEE) defines green buildings or green buildings as “the practice of increasing the efficiency by which buildings and their sites use energy, air, and materials, and reducing the impact of buildings on health and the environment, through better siting, design work. construction, operation and removal - maintenance of the complete building life cycle. (Kubba, 2017). At the planning and implementation stage of a construction project the selection of building materials or materials must be precise but also efficient. The concept of eco-efficiency was introduced in 1991 by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development - WBCSD and includes “the development of competitively priced products and services that meet the needs of the quality of human life, while progressively reducing impact on the environment and consumption of raw materials throughout the life cycle accordingly. with the capacity that is on planet earth. "This concept means producing more products with less resources and less waste, and therefore this concept has less impact on the environment. Then it is necessary to assess all the environmental impacts caused by the extraction of raw materials from the start of the material being given (cradle) to the end of its service life (tomb). The research objective is to develop environmentally friendly materials for problem solving materials, electricity and plumbing. The results of the analysis show that the mechanical, electrical, and piping materials used in the Maranatha Sport Center project have not met the 7 overall environmentally friendly criteria for the material-life-span stage, however, each material used has the main green criteria that have been self-declared by each. -Each material manufacturer.

The purpose of these studies is to justify the feasibility of recycling different types of industrial waste instead of conventional expensive raw materials in production of environmentally friendly aerated concrete with required construction and operational properties. The impact of wastes from various industries on the environmental condition of affected areas, as well as the results of their environmental assessment were analyzed to determine whether these wastes could be used in production of high-performance building materials. The assessment of industrial wastes in aerated concrete production suggests that industrial wastes of hazard class IV can be recycled to produce aerated concrete. An environmentally friendly method for large-scale waste recycling, including a two-step environmentally sustainable mechanism, was developed. The basic quality indicators of the modified aerated concrete proved that the environmental safety could be enhanced by strengthening the structure, increasing its uniformity and improving thermal insulation properties. The modified non-autoclaved aerated concrete products with improved physical and operational properties were developed. They have the following properties: density – D700; class of concrete – B3.5; thermal transmittance coefficient – 0.143 W/(m·°C); frost resistance – F75.

For environment protection in the European Union (EU) it is very important the construction waste to be recycled and reused. The potential for the construction waste recycling and reuse is high, as their components have high cost. There is an opportunity for re-use of such materials in road construction, for drainage systems, for outdoor sports grounds and other construction sites. In 2012 a regulation on the management of construction waste and on the use of recycled building materials was adopted in Bulgaria, aiming to introduce a new model for the management of construction waste. This would guarantee: creation of favorable legislative and economic conditions for implementation of technologies ensuring the achievement of recycling and recovery targets but which are also financially viable in line with the country's incomes; identifying the persons responsible for covering the costs of building waste management and achieving the recycling and recovery targets; creating conditions for the production and marketing of materials from recycling of construction waste at a price that is competitive with the same new raw materials used in construction. The main effect expected from this normative document is to contribute to Bulgaria's development towards European trends, environmental protection through an integrated framework for the management of construction and demolition waste that will reduce the harmful impacts on it caused by construction waste, improving the efficiency of resource use, increasing the responsibilities of pollutants and stimulating investment in waste management.

The results of research on the development of compositions of construction materials for structural purposes based on technogenic waste and mineral raw materials are presented. The possibility of obtaining materials with a wide range of operational properties by the methods of slip casting (compressive strength of the samples based on chamotte and sand is 53.0–95.9 and 50.0-69.5 MPa, bending strength is 8.1–16.5 and 8.5–15.3 MPa, abrasion is 0.2–0.36 and 0.15–0.39 g/cm2, respectively) and semi-dry pressing (compressive strength of the samples based on chamotte and sand are 19.1–43.5 and 18.3–32.6 MParespectively) isdemonstrated.
