Abstract Jupiter’s aurora features have been observed by the Hubble space telescope (HST) for over two decades. One of the auroral features, Ganymede’s magnetic footprint, appears close to the main emission and is sometimes embedded in the main emission. The latter case causes difficulty in identifying Ganymede’s magnetic footprint from in the main emission. The FUV aurora images were taken by Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) onboard the HST. The fluctuations of Ganymede’s footprint brightness over time will be analyzed. Moreover, the correlation between the brightness and locations of the main emission and Ganymede’s magnetic footprint will be analyzed to characterize the connection between ionospheric phenomena and the magnetospheric dynamics. Since the main emission is very bright in comparison with the footprint, therefore, the variation of the main emission can affect the Ganymede’s magnetic footprint. Furthermore, the expansion of the main emission is consistent with the location shift of Ganymede’s magnetic footprint in equatorward direction. The brightness and location of the main emission can be influenced by the plasma variation in Jupiter’s magnetosphere which is affected partly by the volcanic eruption on Io and solar wind dynamic pressure. The variation of Ganymede magnetic footprint’s brightness and location in respond to the main emission could be an important indicator of the magnetospheric variation under the influences of internal and external factors.

Chapter seven synthesizes these two cases, making comparisons across the three thematic areas explored in the book—politics, discourse, and materiality. It begins by returning to the central question of why urban forestry was so appealing that it merited its own signature mayoral initiative in PlaNYC, whereas urban agriculture was overlooked. It analyzes the networks, public-private partnerships, elite ties, and bureaucratic structures that were involved in PlaNYC, revealing whose voice was heard and whose voice was ignored in the sustainability planning process. Then, bearing in mind that the politics of urban nature is both framed by storylines and influenced by non-human actants, the chapter widens this analysis from a focus on politics and social networks to a focus on actor-networks and key narratives. Finally, the chapter observes how the cases shift over time in response to both internal and external factors, even within a four year window.

This research found that various factors become the background of the existence of the karaoke business under the guise of illegal prostitution in Central Java, ranging from economic and business factors to weak rules and law enforcement. The study also revealed the fact that the karaoke business secretly provided sex or prostitution services, but law enforcement was ineffective. One of the ineffectiveness of law enforcement is the problem of law enforcement apparatuses and bribery resources that occur within the law enforcement environment. In addition, this business also deals directly with business and economic investment holders.

This work studies the variance of the return over assets (ROA) of 1,664 Brazilian organizations between 1996 and 2003. This variance is divided into in factors associated with differences between business units, imdustries and economic conditions. The model is also calculated dividing the overall period into four year intervals so as to follow the evolution of the factors over the years. Results show that the main source of the variation in the performance can be attributed to differences among companies. The weight of this element increases over time. Surprisingly, considering the many and frequent crises suffered in the last couple of years, the role of the economic climate is slight and similar to that found by other authors for the American market.

Purpose This paper aims to detail the evolution of accounting controls conveyed as written rules at the Society of Jesus from the middle of the 17th century to the present day. Design/methodology/approach An analytically structured history approach is adopted. Four “Instructions” are analysed in detail and institutional theory is used as a lens to examine influences on accounting control rules over time. Findings The analysis reveals that accounting control rules maintained a core stability over time but were adapted and extended according to internal and external factors. Changes to the rules were thus mostly evolutionary. Influenced by mainly external factors, over the years the rules have become more detailed and accompanied by more practical guidance. Originality/value This study provides an analysis of the evolution of accounting control rules at the Society of Jesus, which thus far has not been presented. It provides insights on how the rules introduced more clarity and highlights the increasing recognition of secular management control and development within the Jesuit rules.

PUI is a fusion (combined) organization of two other organizations, namely the Islamic Community Engagement of Majalengka led by KH Abdul Halim and the Indonesian Islamic Community Association (PUII) of Sukabumi led by KH Ahmad Sanusi. In this research, the writer focuses on PUI Cianjur regency because Cianjur has a fairly long history with this organization and Cianjur has also become one of the PUI branches that has the most members. To find out the problems in this study, there are several points that will be explained, namely the social and religious conditions of the people of Cianjur district and the development of PUI in Cianjur starting from 1935-2014. To be able to understand the problems in this study, the writer uses institutional social theory. The method used in this research is the historical research method, while the steps of the research are, heuristics (search and collection of sources), criticism (external and internal), interpretation (interpretation), and historiography. The results of this study can be said that over time PUI in Cianjur experienced ups and downs in running the wheels of its organization, caused by factors that influence it. Both internal and external factors. The social and religious conditions of the Cianjur community at that time were able to accept PUI well, because PUI came with good Islamic teachings and good ways. So that in a fairly long span of time PUI Cianjur experienced a vacuum, a transition period and a revival or development period. Especially in 2008 until 2014, even now. PUI is still alive and well known in the community.

This essay analyzes the political motivations behind the Jewish Nation-State Bill introduced in the Knesset in November 2014, shedding light on the ascendancy of the Israeli political establishment's radical right wing. It argues that there were both internal and external factors at work and that it is only by examining these thoroughly that the magnitude of the racist agenda currently being promoted can be grasped. The essay also discusses the proposed legislation's long history and the implications of this effort to constitutionalize what amounts to majoritarian despotism in present-day Israel.
