Smart Dust is comprised of a vast number of ultra-small fully autonomous computing and communication devices, with very restricted energy and computing capabilities, that co-operate to accomplish a large sensing task. Smart Dust can be very useful in practice i.e. in the local detection of a remote crucial event and the propagation of data reporting its realization to a control center. In this work, we have implemented and experimentally evaluated four protocols ( [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and two variations of [Formula: see text] which we here introduce ) for local detection and propagation in smart dust networks, under new, more general and realistic modelling assumptions. We comparatively study, by using extensive experiments, their behavior highlighting their relative advantages and disadvantages. All protocols are very successful. In the setting we considered here, [Formula: see text] seems to be faster while the [Formula: see text] based protocols are more energy efficient.

The development of information and communication technology (ICT) is maked by variouspatterns of information acquisition with various types and media formats. The presenceof mobile communication devices, online media, online games, web technology, socialnetworking applications such as: facebook, WhatsApp, line and other social networkingthat makes users stay connected. This phenomenon becomes a challenge for informationmanagers (librarians) and information providers (Library) to make changes through theapplication of information technology both in the library management and library services. The Library of Lampung University has innovated digital technology in library servicesthrough Unila Library Mobile service. The purpose of this research is to: 1) describe UnilaLibrary Mobile service as digital technology innovation of The Library of Lampung University;2) explain the advantages and disadvantages of Unila Library Mobile service. Thisresearch uses qualitative descriptive method with data collection through observation andliterature study. Observations to visitors of the Library of Lampung University, especiallyvisitors of reference services in the collection search process and tracing information online.Library study through literature-literature related to the object of this research. The resultof this research is Unila Library Mobile service is the digital technology innovation of TheLibrary of Lampung University as an effort to improve the utilization of Library service. TheUnila Library Mobile service has the advantage of providing library services in a practical, easy and efficient manner in utilizing them, but has disadvantages as well: Unila LibraryMobile service can not be accessed if the server at the Lampung University is eror; powerlines off; if you want to access outside the Lampung University must have free wifi; and ifyou want to access with a smartphone must have a quota.

The common VAT system adopted by EU member states comprises a set of various rates, which differentiate the goods and services subject to this tax. However, from a technical and management point of view, it would be preferable to adopt a single tax rate as it reduces distortions and facilitates tax compliance and management. This research seeks to analyse the benefits and disadvantages of adopting a single VAT as a means of simplifying the European VAT model. It takes Portugal as a case study. The main objective of this research is to contribute to the academic debate around the theme of the single rate of VAT versus differentiated rates, through the achievement of a series of analyses and statistical tests to revenues and percentages of GDP that they correspond, in the three scenarios considered in the study: differentiated rates, single rate of 17% and single rate of 21%.In the empirical part, hypotheses were developed, the effects on tax revenue of a differential collection system were analyzed and compared to a possible single rate regime on consumption to verify which one would be more efficient. data comparison permits to verify that the estimated revenue of the single rate of VAT is higher than the values obtained by the system of differentiated rates, in any of the proposed models (17% or 21%). The results of this research are valid for all countries that adopt VAT or general tax transactions.

Aptamers are a new kind of nano-probes for bioassays and drug delivery, etc. In this paper, software has been developed as an automatic control center for the automated aptamer selecting system which realized the high integration of aptamer selection, data acquisition and processing. This software, applied in windows system, is developed by C# with the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 integrated developing environment and the database used in this software is implemented using open source relational database MYSQL. According to the requirement analysis, this software realized various important necessary functions including feasible experiment design, auto-control of the hardware, real time process monitoring and efficient data management which perfectly satisfies the users’ demands. During the actual experiment operation, this software worked smoothly and assumed stable serial port communication between it and the hardware, meanwhile, the interaction between the software and MYSQL remained good stability. As a consequence, it is practical and reasonable to apply this software to the automated aptamer selecting system for research.

The nature of white space utilization, tremendous data processing, heterogeneous coexistence and security guarantees in Wireless Cognitive Sensor Network (WCSN) brings significant advantages over traditional Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) used in the smart grid. However, one of the main security threats to WCSN in the smart grid is the transmission of spurious data by malicious secondary users, which can induce the control center to make a wrong spectrum allocation and power dispatching decisions. In this paper, after analyzing the reference structure of smart grid and the feasibility of applying the epidemic theory into WCSN, we propose the UDG model of WCSN in the smart grid. Based on the epidemic theory in social network, we model and analyze the spurious data propagation process and identify key factors determining potential epidemic outbreaks in WCSN. In conclusion, we validate the feasibility of SIS model and perform investigations on the system dynamics.

In recent years, modern torque measurement systems have become very popular. they are used in road, rail, aviation and ship transport, as well as in the pulp, paper, and metallurgical industries. These metrological systems provide accurate torque measurement in difficult operating conditions as well as in aggressive environments. Thanks to the introduction of microprocessors in these devices, it became possible to increase the speed, it became possible to connect automatic torque tracking systems via a network interface to a single automatic control center and to perform remote control of torque sensors. With the use of modern software increases communication automatic torque measurement systems. Various software models are being developed for automatic torque measurement systems that have the ability to either partially simulate this system or work as an assistant device adapting automatic measurement systems to various uncertainties such as ambient temperature and properties of ferromagnetic materials. Safety of operation of transport systems, load-lifting devices and production facilities is increased. The purpose of this article is to review and analyze new types of torque sensors well-known manufacturers. The design and composition of modern measuring systems are considered and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. The technical description for each of the torque converters is given.

Voice Communication Control System (VCCS) is a tool designed to make it easier for users to communicate voice by integrating all users (clients) and means of communication in one system and controlled using a control panel. VCCS is a voice switching device used in VHF A / G and Direct Speech communications. The benefit of using VCCS is that when the user makes flight communication it becomes easy because all frequencies and telephones are combined in a VCU (Voice Control Unit) so that the ATC desk/work desk is not filled with communication devices. In addition, to facilitate its use, the VCCS client control panel uses a touch screen system. AirNav Indonesia Manado Branch has a LESS brand VCCS equipment server manufactured by China. VCCS consists of two main parts, namely the server and client. The server is a processing center and control center for switching input and output, while the client or VCU (Voice Control Unit) is the device used by the user in VCCS operations. There are 7 VCUs at AirNav Indonesia Manado which are placed in the Tower room (3 VCU), APP room (3 VCU), and FSS Kompen room (1 VCU).
