Teachers’ Obstacles in Implementing Numbered Head Together in Social Science Learning

This study is aimed at describing teachers’ obstacles in applying Numbered Head Together learning model in social science learning. The type of research is qualitative descriptive. The subject of the research is the third-grade teacher of elementary school in Sukoharjo Sub-district. The findings of the research were analyzed using interactive analysis of Miles and Huberman and were presented through descriptive narrative technique. The results reveal several obstacles that were experienced by the teachers. First, the time is limited. Second, the classroom atmosphere is noisy due to large number of students. Third, the number of students in total is not even. Fourth, the students interfere each other. Fifth, not all of the students work in the group. Sixth, the students are not actively responding. Seventh, the students are lack of confidence in the presentation.

The aim of this research was to find out the improvement of writing essay writing skills that were applied through the image media to the fifth-grade students of SDN 09 Mattekko kec. Bara City of Palopo. This study uses a quantitative and qualitative approach with a type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) designed through three cycles. The subject of the research was Mattekko 09 Elementary School Elementary School students, amounting to 24 students. Data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and tests. Data obtained were analyzed using a descriptive statistical formula (percentage) to describe descriptively the results of the study. Furthermore, to discuss and explain the results of research that are qualitative descriptive, the data reduction analysis, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques are used. The results found that the pre-cycle stage, the average value of students was 58.54 with classical learning completeness of 20.5%. After learning to apply the picture media, in the first cycle, the average value was 67.70 with the classical completeness was 58.33%. Furthermore, in the second cycle, the average value was 74.58 with 79.16% classical learning completeness. Then, continued in the third cycle the average value is 81.45 with classical learning completeness is 95.83%. Thus, the skill of writing essays in the description of grade V students of SDN 09 Mattekko by applying picture media starting from the first cycle to the third cycle shows effective results. Therefore, the image media needs to be used as a reference by the teacher in learning to write essays in elementary schools, especially SDN 09 Mattekko, Palopo city.

The purpose of this research is whether there is influence or not on the application of Two Stay Two Stray learning model on fifth-grade student’s social science learning performance in AL-ISLAH Elementary school. The method applied by this research was a quantitative experiment. The design of thes research takes the fifth-grade students of AL- ISLAH Elementary school as the population and 30 of the total as the sample. The data collecting technique uses test. Meanwhile, the analysis of the data runs hypotheses test and Eta Squared formula. The result of the application of Two Stay Two Stray learning model on fifth-grade student’s social science learning performance in AL-ISLAH Elementary school showed that the t-account is more than t-table. It is 22,20>1,699. The acquired data shows if the application of Two Stay Two Stray learning models has an influence on fifth-grade student’s social science learning performence in  AL-ISLAH Elementary school. By  Eta Squared, it shows 0,94>0,14. Based on the data by Eta Squared indicates that the influence given is moderately big towards student’s learning performance.

This research was motivated by the low ability of student’s critical thinking in a group of Social Sciencelearning in VIII-A Grade SMP Pasundan 6 Bandung. The purpose of this research is to describe planning,implementation, result, obstacle and effort in the implementation of problem-based learning model withnewspaper media to improve student’s critical thinking ability. This research uses classroom actionresearch with Kemmis and Taggart model by using problem-based learning and newspaper as learningmedia. The subjects of this research are37 students of VIII-A Grade SMP Pasundan 6 Bandung. Planningof this research includes preparing RPP(Instruction Plan) and making instrument according to the needs.This research was conducted for three cycles and obtained the result of student’s critical thinkingimprovement in Social Science learning from first cycle until third cycle. The student’s critical thinkingability in the first with the enough category, in the second with the enough category and in the third cyclewith the good category. The increase is signed by the number of students who ask questions, answerquestions asked by teachers by using their own language and using sentences that are understandable, aswell ascan find and solve existing problems in the environment related to the subject in a group discussion activity. The problem of this research are the difficulty of finding newspapers related to thesubject presented and the implementation of lesson is inappropriate with the instruction plan. Theseobstacles can be solved by reading of newspapers from various sources before implementing the actionand improving the learning process by delivering the subject in accordance to the instruction plan that hasbeen compiled. This research uses qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the ability of teachers to apply the problem centered learning model of learning in the Elementary School 187/ X Bangun Karya, Academic Year 2019/2020. The subject of this study was a teacher at 187 / X Bangun Karya Elementary School, Rantau Rasau District, Tanjung Jabung Timur District, Jambi Province. This class action research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. The results of the evaluation are converted into a recapitulation table of the results of cycle I. The conversion results state that the research has not yet reached the target, it needs to be continued with cycle II. The results of observers in the implementation phase of the second cycle showed that all parts of the learning activities were going well, so that there were no more parts of the learning activities that needed to be improved. While the results of the second cycle are converted with the results of the recapitulation table states that the study has reached the target limit of completeness criteria in the first cycle that is equal to 50% and an average of 68.7 in the initial conditions of improvement in the second cycle completeness criteria to be 100% and the average namely 91.7 states that the Focus Group Discission can improve the ability of teachers to apply the Problem Centered Learning learning model in learning in 187 / X Public Elementary School Build Work Year 2019/2020.

This study aims to improve 3rd grade students’ science learning outcomes bylearning to use visual multimedia. This research method uses classroom actionresearch. The subject of this research was the third grade students of secondsemester of elementary school which conducted 30 students. Based on theresults of research by using visual media, it have been found that theimprovement learning outcome, seen from the initial average score before theaction of 3rd grade class students from 65.5 to 83.83. The results of this studyindicate that with the use of visual media can improve student learningoutcomes.

This research is motivated by the results of learning science in fourth grade elementary school students who are still low. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of science by applying the Cooperative Think Pair Share (TPS) type learning model. The results showed, seen from the basic score, students who completed as many as 11 people with a percentage of 47.82% while students who did not complete amounted to 12 people with a percentage of 52.17%. cycle I, students who completed at 17 people with a percentage of 73.91% while students who did not complete as many as 6 people with a percentage of 26.08%. cycle II, students who completed as many as 20 people with a percentage of 86.95% while the incomplete amounted to 3 people with a percentage of 13.04%. from the results of this study it can be concluded that by applying the cooperative learning model the Think Pair Share (TPS) type can improve the science learning outcomes of class IV elementary school 004 Seberang Teluk Hilir Kuantan Tengah District Kuantan Singingi Regency.
