Stress is inevitable in any workplace. Stressed teachers in every school are prone to exhaustion and commit errors. In the Philippines, few studies have been discussed due to stress among faculty members, especially in tertiary education. In this study, the researchers shed light on sources, manifestations, and levels of stress, and discovered the relationship between sources and their manifestations among faculty members of the eight colleges of the Isabela State University-Main Campus. Data were randomly collected from 165 respondents, through the Teacher Stress Inventory developed by Fimian. Data revealed that the main sources and manifestations of stress by the respondents were Work-related and Professional Investment, and Fatigue Manifestations. The level of stress among the respondents was moderate. Likewise, the sources and manifestations of stress were found significantly correlated to each other. Results of the study press on the development of a proposed Stress Management Program supportive and essential in managing and coping stress of the faculty member

This paper investigated the relationship between organizational culture and soft skills. Data were collected among selected faculty members in the three different state universities. Using convenient sampling, the study included 324 respondents, one in each state university from the main island of the Philippines (Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao). This study used a descriptive-correlational design which utilized a self-constructed questionnaire with a Cronbach Alpha of 0.907 internal consistency, having formatted on a 4-point scale. The result showed that the organizational culture of faculty members is strong with a mean of 3.5 (SD=.48), and the soft skills of faculty members are good with a mean of 3.23 (SD=.44). Moreover, there is a significant relationship between organizational culture and soft skills, specifically, the clan culture negatively related to soft skills with a coefficient value of -.070 with a contribution of .09% in the variance. This implies that clan culture has a possible adverse relationship with soft skills. Based on the path model organizational culture has a direct effect on soft skills.

Evaluating faculty members' performance is a very complex area to study. In addition, predicting the performance of these faculty members is a very difficult and challenging task. However, the core of education is teaching and learning, and teaching-learning works to its fullest when there are effective teachers. Measuring the effectiveness of faculty members is done based on the student evaluation of faculty. This research aims to develop a model to predict the performance of the faculty members using associative rule based on the existing evaluation form used by PSU to evaluate faculty members. The model is designed to utilize the knowledge of text analytics rule capabilities that will provide great support for the decision-making of Pangasinan State University in the Philippines. The result reveals that the term good is still the top one terms occurred for all campuses followed by teaching. The results indicated that teacher/faculty members on all campuses are good teachers. Associating words reveal that "teaching good subject/topic," "explains simply" and other meaningful associated words can be utilized to evaluate the performance of the teacher. The results exposed not only the quantitative values of faculty evaluation it also exposed the qualitative opinion of the students in the performance of their faculty members. This study reveals important aspects of the faculty member's teaching performance in terms of words/association of words that will describe their teaching performance. The results can be utilized in coaching and mentoring faculty members to cope with their weaknesses. The proposed model can be utilized by Pangasinan State University to evaluate the faculty members in terms of their teaching performance by utilizing the comments/opinions of the students.

Abstract Introduction: Fishing in Indian villages is considered one of the major occupations for the villagers. The work related health problems encountered by fishermen are vast. Long hours, extreme weather and working with heavy machinery contribute to a high mortality rate in fishermen. Despite a long standing acknowledgement of the dangers and mortality associated with fishing, there has been little research in this field Objectives: The objectives of the study were to: assess the job stress and coping among fishermen, find the relationship between job stress and coping, find the association between job stress, coping and demographic variables such as age, religion, marital status, type of family, education, monthly income and work experience. Materials and Methods: A descriptive survey was under taken among 140 fishermen using structured questionnaire. SPSS 16.0 software was used for data analysis. Frequency, percentage, Pearsons product moment correlation and Chi-square were used. Results: Majority of the subjects had moderate stress (62.1%) and moderate cope (91.4%). It is found in the study that there is significant 2 relationship between job stress and coping. There is significant association between job stress and work experience (? = 6.90, p<0.05). Conclusion: Fishermen who work for long hours in the sea without any contact with their families are prone to problems with their work and their personal life as it is unsafe at sea.

Guided by the desire to contribute a little in the development of innovative instructional technology for the teaching of electronics, this researcher constructed a prototype audio system trainer. Electronics teachers will find the instructional tool convenient and practical to use for visual instruction, laboratory activities and troubleshooting works in electronics. To support the functionality of the audio system trainer, the researcher developed a supplementary laboratory manual. The project whose production costs totaled fourteen thousand two hundred seventy-two pesos and fifty centavos (Php 14,272.50) was finished in two weeks’ time. However, this amount is small if compared to the prices of the commercially available instructional device developed for the same purpose. The completed project and the supplementary laboratory exercises were evaluated by selected technical faculty members of the College of Industrial Technology of the Bulacan State University, Bulacan Polytechnic College, University of Rizal System, and Lyceum of the Philippines University. The sampling technique as used in the study is both purposive and incidental. The prototype audio system trainer received an over-all mean rating of 4.62 which means that the project is highly acceptable on a set of criteria which includes – physical features, cost, function/operations, and durability. Furthermore, the supplementary laboratory exercises obtained a mean of 4.70 which could be interpreted that the respondents strongly agree on the validity of the manual.

This study examines the relationship between cognitive style (i.e., information, normative, and diffuse orientation, and commitment) and alcohol/work-related problems. A random sample of Naval personnel ( n = 2000) with less than two years of service toward their first enlistment was sent a questionnaire to assess cognitive style [1] and alcohol/work-related problems. A total of 899 respondents (45.0%) returned their questionnaires. Findings support prevention strategies that incorporate problem-solving, decision-making, and coping strategies, particularly among participants who employ diffuse problem-solving/coping strategies (lack of exploration and commitment, avoidance of problems). Correlations between cognitive style and alcohol/work-related problems are theoretically compatible. Diffuse orientation scores are positively related to both alcohol- and work-related problems, while norm and information orientation scores are negatively related to both measures. Collectively, cognitive style measures explain 11.4 percent of the variability in alcohol-related problems, and 14.0 percent of the variability in work-related problems.

Objective - What are the work-related issues which contribute to police constables stress? How do police constables get rid of their stress? Because stress and copings are the two most important factors that influence work-related wellbeing. This paper aims to understand the theoretical framework of police stress and coping procedures. The ideas that make up this system can be used in the appraisal, intervention, and assessment of the police stress reaction and the coping forms utilised after stressful situations. Methodology/Technique - 492 Tamil Nadu state police constables were chosen randomly. Information was gathered utilising two self-report questionnaires which include questionnaire related to police stress and coping strategies. Researcher measured the reliability and validity of the multiple-item research scales by analysing the measurement model using confirmatory factor analysis. Correlation analysis investigative the relationship between police stress and coping strategies, it found that it was positive and significant. Further, the researcher used the SEM approach to testing the relationship between police stress and coping strategies. Findings – SEM approach concludes that overall police stress influences self-supported emotional focused coping strategies positively and that overall police stressors have a positive impact on social supported emotional focused coping strategies. Furthermore, there is a positive impact on overall stress and problem-focused coping and avoidant coping strategies. Novelty - The outcomes can be utilised to help researchers and policy makers foresee police work execution and aid government consider police's identity attributes. This study assessed the teaching performance of faculty members in the selected campuses in one of the state universities in the Visayas It answered the following objectives: describe faculty demographics; contrast the results of the PAR and the SAS used by the university in evaluating the performance of faculty; analyze the relationship between the profile of the faculty and of their performance; ascertain the views of the supervisors and students on the performance of faculty; compare their performance as regards to gender; and extrapolate the problems met by them relative to the nature of their work. This study utilized the descriptive method in the evaluation of faculty performance using the PAR and the SAS. Performance appraisal, as an ISO mechanism for quality, reflected to mirror both positive and negative realities in the workplace. Positive realities like experience and educational qualification of faculty maintain the quality status of the three campuses in the university under study; while negative realities opened more possibilities for benchmarking of the usual operational system of personnel management; this would open greater possibilities for a transitional management and effective delivery system in a state university.

Effective records management program is a major element of the governance of any organization. Based from the surveys, the Northwest Samar State University was not fully aware on how to do about the implementation of this act, National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007 (R.A 9470). The university was still relying from the university code for the records management provisions. This study was undertaken to develop and validate the acceptability of the developed University Electronic Records Management System (UeRMS) for Northwest Samar State University as perceived by the computer experts, school officials, teaching personnel and non- teaching personnel. Thus, the idea and assessment of the respondents towards the design of the system is very critical. Upon validating the developed system, they observed that it was much faster to search records compared to manual process.
