Migration is a crucial topic for athletic career development. Despite the challenges and issues that sport migrants face, little is known about Brazilian context. On Pierre Bourdieu’s sociological approach, this study aims to analyze the Brazilian men elite futsal players’ job conditions and their influence on athletes’ dispositions for labor sport migration. On quali–quantitative approach, interviews with 28 Brazilian men elite futsal players were thematically analyzed and quantitative data on clubs’ rosters from the Brazilian National Futsal League were collected. We concluded the following aspects: (a) players’ migrant disposition is a consequence of unfavorable labor conditions; (b) remaining in the same city for long period is a privilege; (c) players and relatives are submitted to constant habitus transformation because of repeated mobility and adaptations to different networks in each new city/club.

In this paper a new method for the registration of trunk movements is presented. With this method, called the Portable Posture Registration Set (PPRS), movements can be recorded continuously over a long period of time. The purpose of this study was to test whether the PPRS can be applied in golf. A pilot study using 4 male golfers demonstrated that qualitative and quantitative data on trunk movements in golf can be collected with the PPRS. The inclination of the trunk proved to be large (40–45°) in all swings tested, resulting in a considerable load on the back. The contribution of torsion to the spinal load was relatively small, especially in the putt, which showed very little movement in the transverse and frontal planes. However, putting accounted for most of the total spinal load in playing a course. Even when playing a round of 18 holes, subjects did not experience any hindrance or discomfort from the sensors or the recorder. This method seems to offer new possibilities in the biomechanical study of trunk movement in golf.

Education This study aimed to explore the strategy to maintain lecturers, particularly in private higher education. It is important because the growth of private universities makes qualified lecturers contested. Responding to that crisis, leaders imposed to construct a strategy to keep them. The required data were collected by interviewing selected respondents determined by the key informant. The instrument used in gathering data was a semi-structured interview. The data then analyzed with the inductive model by Miles, Huberman, & Saldana. The result of the study reveals that: higher education should respond to what is prompting lecturers to move. They must take responsibility for every lecturer resigning and to intervene immediately to find out the reasons that make the lecturer to resign. In terms of the strategy to counter the lecturer’s switch out, the researcher constructed a strategy to magnetize them to remain through concerning more seriously on some aspects, for instance: payment, leadership style, career development, conducive-work life, adequate well-resourced libraries, recognition, and workload. All these efforts addressed to motivate them in working then decide to remain in the institution. Lastly, the researcher also recommends to others to test the conclusion by applying a quantitative approach

Forty-eight former Australian athletes responded to a questionnaire regarding their retirement from sport. Current career beliefs, as well as perceptions of life skills learned in sport that are transferable to post-athletic career occupations, were assessed with an Australian-integrated version of the Career Beliefs Inventory (CBI). Examination of CBI responses revealed several areas of career development that have particular relevance to elite athletes in Australia. Further analyses also demonstrated that the type of sport athletes participate in can have a significant impact on career development. Findings are discussed, including implications for professional practitioners. Future research directions in the area of career development in sport are elaborated.

This article is the result of research that talks about language Muna and language Kambowa in the study of historical linguistics. This article has been shown in an international seminar in Padang with the theme of Language and civilization. But the text only contains a quantitative approach three languages: the language Muna, language Kambowa, and language Busoa. The article will be devoted to the qualitative approach and reconstruction of proto-phonemes and proto words in two languages, the muna language, and the kambowa language. This is done in order to find appropriate and accurate reconstruction. Data sought a more complete by adding data derived from previous writings. Muna language is the language used by the people in the district Muna   and Kambowa language is the language used by the people in the north Buton regency. The two districts in the province of Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. This research is done in the hope that the status of these two languages can be clearer. This is due to that during this time there is some presumption that both of these is the same language that sets it apart is the dialect. Using the approach synchronic comparative and diachronic comparative and with lexicostatistics method for quantitative data found that the percentage of both languages is 52%. based on the results of the analysis can be found that the Proto-Austronesian language reflected in muna and kambowa as proto-language Muna Kambowa as a proof unifying group is  apacope, syncope, Metathesis, Split.

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to examine how Slovak athletes experience dual career (the combination of an athletic career with education and/or work). The study strived to gain an understanding of the athletes’ attitudes towards education as well as perceived difficulties and supporting elements in pursuing dual career. Five athletes were interviewed once for approx. 105 min. The interviews and data analysis were based on Intepretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) and the interviews were focused on their experience in combining an athletic career with education or work. The athletes experienced dual career as manageable as long as they were assisted by at least simple supportive structures and provided flexible arrangements. Peers had played an important role in athletes’ decision-making concerning dual career and in providing social support when facing challenges within dual career. The teachers’ prejudice against the athletes based on their athletic role and the lack of dual career structures appeared to be significant deficiencies in dual career support. Finally, the analysis revealed the negative perception of athletes and sport science students by educational representatives. This perception may be a hurdle to be overcome in future dual career development.

The increasing interest in the investigation of social behaviours of a group of animals has heightened the need for developing tools that provide robust quantitative data. Drosophila melanogaster has emerged as an attractive model for behavioural analysis; however, there are still limited ways to monitor fly behaviour in a quantitative manner. To study social behaviour of a group of flies, acquiring the position of each individual over time is crucial. There are several studies that have tried to solve this problem and make this data acquisition automated. However, none of these studies has addressed the problem of keeping track of flies for a long period of time in three-dimensional space. Recently, we have developed an approach that enables us to detect and keep track of multiple flies in a three-dimensional arena for a long period of time, using multiple synchronized and calibrated cameras. After detecting flies in each view, correspondence between views is established using a novel approach we call the ‘sequential Hungarian algorithm’. Subsequently, the three-dimensional positions of flies in space are reconstructed. We use the Hungarian algorithm and Kalman filter together for data association and tracking. We evaluated rigorously the system's performance for tracking and behaviour detection in multiple experiments, using from one to seven flies. Overall, this system presents a powerful new method for studying complex social interactions in a three-dimensional environment.

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of leadership, compensation, commitment, and career development on employee performance at the Pasar Mobil Kemayoran Management (PPMK). In this study, the authors used a descriptive research method using a quantitative approach. In this study, the ordinal measurement method uses a Likert scale which is used to measure the attitudes, opinions and perceptions of a person or group of people about social phenomena. Based on the results of the study showed that the value of Fcount is 11,644 with sig. of 0,000 while the value of Ftable of 2.38. Because Fcount is greater than Ftable (11,644> 2.38) and the value of sig. 0,000 <0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that the leadership variable (X1).
