EFFECTS OF IMPACTS OF COVERING ROLLERS ON GENERAL FORCES OF SMALL-SIZED TILLAGE MACHINE

Increasing the efficiency of agricultural production, in particular the production of crop products in personal subsidiary plots, depends on the development and implementation of high-tech machines and their working units. The need for small-sized tillage equipment is increasing from year to year. But in order to increase the functionality of the equipment and the quality of soil preparation for sowing, it is necessary to study the possibility of using various additional working units. The purpose of the work is theoretical studies of the movement and kinematic connection of a trailed slatted-spiral roller with a walk-behind tractor, which make it possible to substantiate rational design and technological parameters of a small-sized tillage tool. The study used the provisions of classical mechanics and analytical geometry, methods of equilibrium and motion of mechanical systems based on differential and integral principles of mechanics. The design of active and passive rollers for a walk-behind tractor is considered, which allows to qualitatively prepare the soil for sowing at the depth of seeding, the influence of potential and non-potential effects on their generalized forces is revealed, the angular velocity and their acceleration are determined, as well as the dynamic characteristics of the moment of inertia of the rollers relative to the axes of rotation X4 and Z4 and their frames relative to the axes of rotation X3 and Z3. The difference in the generalized force for a passive roller relative to the angle φ 5.49 N∙m was obtained. The angular speed of the active roller is 23.0 rad/s higher than that of the passive roller, and as a result of research it was revealed that the moments of inertia of the active roller and its frame relative to the axles are significantly higher than that of the passive roller. Generalized forces for an active roller relative to the angle q = 2.58 N∙m and relative to the angle φ = 1.98 N∙m, for a passive roller - relative to the angle q = 2.32 N∙m and relative to the angle φ = 7.47 N∙m. The generalized forces for the potential effects of an active roller are Qθa=1.58 N∙m, Qφa=2.26 N∙m, for a passive roller Qθn=1.32 N∙m, Qφn= 4.60 N∙m. Mθa = 1 N∙m, Mφa = 114.63 N∙m; passive roller - respectively Mθn = 1 N∙m, Mφn = 178.9 N∙m

AbstractThe number of mobile health apps is exploding, though few of these tools have been evaluated for effectiveness. Furthermore, even apps certified for their impact may not diffuse widely. App outreach efforts may lack “human touches,” when encouraging potential users to adopt. We (SHE and PC) built a nutrition app for low-income clients of community food pantries and confirmed its effectiveness in a randomized field trial. We then collaborated with a variety of community organizations in six diffusion efforts, inviting our sites to design interventions that incorporated human touches that they could sustain beyond our collaborations. We independently monitored the experiments’ impact. Collaborators’ diffusion efforts that deployed several human touches were judged more successful than trials that executed few. But, only half of our collaborating organizations embraced the most essential human touches, practices we judged were part of a User-Friendly Approach. A fundamental irony can stymie projects that create information technologies to help empower people, such as eating more healthily. The modern technology’s ultimate success may rest on ancient skills of nurturing users at the moment of downloading. In a high-tech world, it is the human touch that will make the difference between widespread adoption or not.

Purpose Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) is an intervention approach that can promote communication and language in children with multiple disabilities who are beginning communicators. While a wide range of AAC technologies are available, little is known about the comparative effects of specific technology options. Given that engagement can be low for beginning communicators with multiple disabilities, the current study provides initial information about the comparative effects of 2 AAC technology options—high-tech visual scene displays (VSDs) and low-tech isolated picture symbols—on engagement. Method Three elementary-age beginning communicators with multiple disabilities participated. The study used a single-subject, alternating treatment design with each technology serving as a condition. Participants interacted with their school speech-language pathologists using each of the 2 technologies across 5 sessions in a block randomized order. Results According to visual analysis and nonoverlap of all pairs calculations, all 3 participants demonstrated more engagement with the high-tech VSDs than the low-tech isolated picture symbols as measured by their seconds of gaze toward each technology option. Despite the difference in engagement observed, there was no clear difference across the 2 conditions in engagement toward the communication partner or use of the AAC. Conclusions Clinicians can consider measuring engagement when evaluating AAC technology options for children with multiple disabilities and should consider evaluating high-tech VSDs as 1 technology option for them. Future research must explore the extent to which differences in engagement to particular AAC technologies result in differences in communication and language learning over time as might be expected.

Skinning, which is used in skeletal simulations to express the human body, has been weighted between bones to enable muscle-like motions. Weighting is not a form of calculating the pressure and density of muscle fibers in the human body. Therefore, it is not possible to express physical changes when external forces are applied. To express a similar behavior, an animator arbitrarily customizes the weight values. In this study, we apply the kernel and pressure-dependent density variations used in particle-based fluid simulations to skinning simulations. As a result, surface tension and elasticity between particles are applied to muscles, indicating realistic human motion. We also propose a tension yield condition that reflects Tresca’s yield condition, which can be easily approximated using the difference between the maximum and minimum values of the principal stress to simulate the tension limit of the muscle fiber. The density received by particles in the kernel is assumed to be the principal stress. The difference is calculated by approximating the moment of greatest force to the maximum principal stress and the moment of least force to the minimum principal stress. When the density of a particle increases beyond the yield condition, the object is no longer subjected to force. As a result, one can express realistic muscles.

Internal control plays a role in risk prevention for firms when dealing with serious emergencies, which ensures the sustainable development of firms during a crisis. Based on the rapid outbreak of COVID-19 in China, this paper empirically tests whether internal control alleviates the negative impact of the pandemic on firm performance. Using a sample of Chinese listed firms from the first quarter of 2019 to the third quarter of 2020 and employing the difference-in-difference (DID) method, we find that the firms with a higher quality of internal control achieve better financial performance during the pandemic period; the more serious the pandemic is, the more obvious effect internal control plays. Furthermore, we consider the industry heterogeneity and firm heterogeneity of the risk resistance effect of internal control. In the manufacturing industry, which is a “disaster zone” of the pandemic, and the non-high-tech industry with a low degree of digitization, internal control can play a more important role in firms’ performance. Moreover, for state-owned enterprises, and firms with strong financing constraints, the role of internal control is more prominent. The above results provide empirical evidence for the risk prevention function of internal control and shed new light on the measures for firms to resist emergencies in the future.

ABSTRACT Introduction Osseointegrated implants for direct skeletal attachment of transtibial prosthesis carry risks that are yet to be fully resolved, such as early loosening, mechanical failure of percutaneous and medullar parts of implant, periprosthetic issues, and infections. Underloading could lead to early loosening and infection. Overloading might compromise the bone–implant interface. Therefore, Goldilocks loading regimen applied by transtibial bone-anchored prostheses is critical for safe and efficient development of osseointegration around the implant during rehabilitation and beyond. We hypothesized that Goldilocks loading could be achieved when ambulating with a so-called anthropomorphic prosthetic ankle showing moment–angle relationship similar to a sound ankle. Materials and Methods Quantitative characteristics of the moment–angle curve of the sound ankle during dorsiflexion phase of a free-pace walking were extracted for 4 able-bodied participants (experiment 1). A slope of the moment–angle curve (stiffness) was calculated twice: for the first half and for the second half of the moment–angle curve. The difference of stiffnesses (those at the second half minus at the first half) was called the index of anthropomorphicity (IA). By definition, positive IA is associated with concave shape of the moment–angle curve, and the negative IA is associated with convex shape. In experiment 2, the same recordings and calculations were performed for 3 participants fitted with transtibial osseointegrated fixation during walking with their usual feet and the Free-Flow Foot (Ohio Willow Wood). The Free-Flow Foot was selected for its anthropomorphicity demonstrated in the previous studies with amputees using traditional socket attachment. Results The IA was 5.88 ± 0.93 for the able-bodied participants, indicating that the stiffness during the first part of the dorsiflexion phase was substantially fewer than during the second parts, as the calf muscles resisted to angulation in ankle substantially less than during the second part of dorsiflexion phase. For amputees fitted with Free-Flow Foot, IA was 2.68 ± 1.09 and −2.97 ± 2.37 for the same amputees fitted with their usual feet. Conclusions Indexes of anthropomorphicity, while of different magnitude, were positive in control able-bodied group and in the amputee group wearing Free-Flow Foot, which was qualitatively associated with concave shape of their moment–angle curves. The 3 usual feet worn by the participants were classified as nonanthropomorphic as their individual moment–angle curves were convex and the corresponding IAs were negative. Furthermore, this study showed that a foot with anthropomorphic characteristics tends to decrease maximal loads at the bone–implant interface as compared to the nonanthropomorphic feet and possibly may minimize the risks to compromise the integrity of this interface.

The aim of this work is to apply classical mechanics to a description of the dynamic state of C20@C80 diamond complex. Endohedral rotations of fullerenes are of great interest due to the ability of the materials created on the basis of onion complexes to accumulate energy at rotational degrees of freedom. For such systems, a concept of temperature is not specified. In this paper, a closed description of the rotation of large molecules arranged in diamond shells is obtained in the framework of the classical approach. This description is used for C20@C80 diamond complex. Two different problems of molecular dynamics, distinguished by a fixing method for an outer shell of the considered bimolecular complex, are solved. In all the cases, the fullerene rotation frequency is calculated. Since a class of possible motions for a single carbon body (molecule) consists of rotations and translational displacements, the paper presents the equations determining each of these groups of motions. Dynamic equations for rotational motions of molecules are obtained employing the moment of momentum theorem for relative motions of the system near the fullerenes’ centers of mass. These equations specify the operation of the complex as a molecular pendulum. The equations of motion of the fullerenes’ centers of mass determine vibrations in the system, i.e. the operation of the complex as a molecular oscillator.

Purpose – The purpose of the paper is to provide a comparative retrospective analysis of Bulgarian, Turkish and Croatian Open Access (OA) journals added in Directory of Open Access journals (DOAJ) in the period 2002-2013. Design/methodology/approach – First of all, the study is focussed on brief review of definitions and descriptions of the OA as a global movement. In the study were analyzed the three main OA initiatives and was shown the difference between Golden Road and Green Road. Second of all, the authors used the comparative approach and made a comparative study of the OA journals in Bulgaria, Turkey and Croatia and present the evaluation results and findings. Findings – Qualitative and quantitative data for the study are collected by the DOAJ. The data are analyzed in terms of quantity and period, and the results are presented graphically and tabular and finally there are made major specific conclusions and recommendations. Originality/value – The paper shows that OA in the digital space has an important position in scientific research. There are many discussion issues related to the problems of OA, but overall study of OA to scientific information, and in particular comparative study of Bulgarian, Turkish and Croatian journals in the DOAJ does not exist at the moment.

The article investigates the existing trends and prospects for the development of warehousing services in the system of production and processing of products, which allowed us to form the purpose of the research in this development. The chosen theme is quite topical, because warehousing processes are an integral part of the formation of supply logistics in modern production processes. One of the ways to reduce the cost of goods and services is the efficient use of resources. Ukrainian and foreign scientists have touched many questions concerning the development of the infrastructure component, solutions of optimization problems regarding the process of import-export of goods to the warehouse, but without determining the optimal values ​​of technological parameters of warehousing systems. The technological scheme of operation of the warehouse system of the enterprise LLC "MEGA CRISP» allows to see the whole chain of operations from the moment of arrival of the vehicle with cargo (containers and packaging) to the moment of sending the cargo (finished product) to the recipient; the necessary types of resources involved in these processes are also taken into account. Total costs were chosen as an evaluation indicator of the choice of an efficient supply channel. Relevant parameters of influence are taken into account: intensities of corresponding cargo flows, unit cost of the appropriate work and one hour of work of one worker, time of performance of an appropriate operation, quantity of the involved resources for performance of the appropriate operation and working time of the warehouse during the day. An imitation full-factor experiment was performed, based on the results of which a regression model in linear form with a non-zero coefficient was determined, in which each coefficient indicates the degree of influence of the relevant factor on the performance indicator. The results of determining the economic effect showed that "Variant 2" (increasing the number of workers) is the least expensive, and the level of costs is lower for all series of experiments compared to the basic variant - "Variant 1". The maximum difference is reached in 12217.8 hryvnias at the maximum loading of a warehouse. And when comparing the third and first variants: only at the maximum level of output flow (170 t / h), the third variant will be cheaper by 852.6 hryvnias. The highest level of positive value of the effect among the variants offered is "Variant 2", the level of savings will be 12,217.8 hryvnias per shift.

Historical discourse is a period phenomenon shaped by the rhetorical and genre understanding of the moment in which it became formalized and professionalized - that is, the second half of the nineteenth century. In the figurative arts, realist painting and its rival, photography, was dominant, and the literary form this notion of consciousness took was the realist novel. Literary realism devices replaced romantic literature devices, just as those latter devices had succeeded, but never replaced the eighteenth-century devices. Historical discourse and the very notion of proper history followed realism devices, mostly the single-lens photographic perspective, one viewer’s viewpoint. From a discourse perspective, this approach took the form of declarative, statement-making. Also, it is not to say that the declarative sentence which gives this term its name was rejected as the preferred way of making assertions about the world - far from it. Although a few self-conscious stylists (Derrida, for instance) work hard to avoid it, the declarative sentence is almost inevitable. Their readers work even harder. But just as narrativity encompasses a realm that extends far beyond narratives, so that narratives can proliferate in an environment that has, in a crucial sense, rejected grand narratives, so declarative statements will exist without entailing statement-making. The declarative act became the defining mark of professional history and remained its principal mode, just as it remains the predominant mode of literature and any number of other discourses. Indeed, this essay is written in the declarative rhetorical mode. However, literary modernism, philosophy, and a host of scientific developments have left this way of representing the world behind. Moreover, the same technological and intellectual changes that caused the modernist vision have, at the same time, created a different world to be depicted, a different sort of event to be represented historically. Not only the form but also the content have changed. The ethical and practical frustrations of representing such events have led to a theoretical challenge to the declarative form of knowing and to a challenge for the genre distinctions that constitute guild history: the idea of the past produced by academically professionalized individuals. For example, the difference between history and fiction - or rather, their respective relationship to truth and reality - has blurred. In contrast, history has adopted some of the modernist literature devices and the present’s practical demands.

The development of the Russian economy should take into account the implementation of the Industry 4.0 concept. This concept does not have clear assessment parameters. Estimating such parameters is problematic. The development of high-tech industries is one of the main objectives of the implementation of Industry 4.0. Prediction of economic development in modern conditions is possible on the basis of mathematical modeling methods. The difference in technological stage of the domestic economy determines the feasibility of a regional approach. Agent-based modeling is the optimal approach to solving this problem. This approach allows simulating the activities of agents. The simulated environment sets the conditions for the agents to function. A gravitational model proposed to assess the economic system functioning environment. The proposed gravitational model allows us to assess the relationship between regions on the basis of high-tech trade. The approbation carried in the Sverdlovsk region conditions. As a result of the study established, the development of the Sverdlovsk region high-tech environment, covering the main industrial regions of The Urals, Volga and Siberian federal districts, and the Central Region. Purpose: Construction of the spatial development an assessing model of high-tech environment in the agent-oriented model of territories economic development in the Industry 4.0 conditions. Methodology: methods of system, structural and logical analysis, tools of gravitational modeling. Results: The proposed gravitational model allowed us to assess the interregional interrelations of Sverdlovsk region on the basis of high-tech trade. Practical implications: The results can be useful for assessing the environment of the economic system in the context of Industry 4.0 in the agent-oriented approach.
