Occupational stress is a common phenomenon that is pervasive in every industry. The domains of stress, especially in the banking sector, consist of the demand of inter role performance, role stagnation, role expectation, conflict of role, role erosion, role overload, role isolation, personal inadequacy, role ambiguity, role distance and resource inadequacy. The work stress in the banking industry occurs because of the effects on one’s understanding of one’s working atmosphere, strengths, opportunities, potential, threats and limitations, while performing a designated role. A gender based study was conducted among 50 bank employees in Kottayam district, Kerala. The gender was taken as an independent variable and stress id taken a dependent variable for the study. The study analysed turbulence, heavy workload and long working hours that have become the norm in the industry. Different elements of stress led to a decline in personal health, relations with colleagues and dissatisfaction with life itself, which affected efficiency and productivity. The study revealed that both the male and female respondents were affected with overload, responsibility, lack of participation, unreasonable work pressure, poor peer relations, intrinsic impoverishment, low status, strenuous working conditions and poor results. The level of significance(p<.05) and the available scores were more that the significance value, except the values of role ambiguity and role conflict.

Although a plethora of studies on factors determining work demand have been investigated in the West, the Western findings cannot be directly applied to another cultural context and there is still rather constraint studies in collectivist cultural nations. Drawing on the conservation of resources theory and Hofstede’s cultural framework, the present study aims to fill a lacuna by identifying factors determining work demand in a collectivist cultural context. Anchored in ontological and epistemological assumptions, the study employed hypothetic-deductive approach with a survey strategy. Data were garnered from randomly selected 569 employees working in the banking sector with the aid of a self-administrated questionnaire. The results disclose that males work longer hours and experience greater work demand than females. The study further reveals the predictors of work demand: working hours had shown the largest impact, followed by tenure, gender, income, formal work-life policies and supervisory status. The present study questioned the worthiness of the equal policies for both men and women in the workplace and emphasised the needs for gender-based HR policies. On balance, the study pushes back the frontiers of work-family literature and becomes a springboard to future scholarly works.

Occupational stress is defined as the harmful physical and emotional responses that occur when the requirement of the job do not match the capabilities, resources or needs of the worker. Bank employees belong to special workgroup who undergo varying levels of mental stress in workplace. Women, in the Indian society, play the dual role as ‘homemaker’ and ‘working woman’. The research was conducted to investigate the association between age and core factors influencing stress. This paper aims to find out the level stress towards various sources of stress and also to analyse various stress relief methods used by the women employees in private banking sector in Thrissur District. 50 women employees working in various private banks in Thrissur District were taken for this study. The study is descriptive in nature. Chi-square test is used for analysing the association between age and core factors influencing stress, Likert Scale and Ranking method also used for this research. The findings also reveal that there is no association between age and core factors influencing stress.

In the current lifestyle of utmost complexities, the stress level is raising at a phenomenal rate. The factors that contribute to stress not only differ between cultures, but also within the culture itself, from a sophisticated to a normal class family, the ultimate necessity is the job, may it be a business or a salaried job. This research work is an analytical, empirical study based on survey of IT professionals in India. The sample was drawn from the various IT hubs in India to make it more representative of the IT professional’s population. Through the pre-tested questionnaire used in the survey, data were generated on the respondents’ demographics, their perceived organizational stressors like Inter Role Distance, Role Stagnation, Role Expectation Conflict, Role Erosion, Role Overload, Role Isolation , Personal Inadequacy, Self-Role Distance, Role Ambiguity , Role Inadequacy. The findings of this study would contribute significantly in better understanding of the stress in IT sector by the academicians and the practitioners. Finally, this study enriches the literature on stress management with respect to the sunshine industry of India. Stress Management is getting more and more attention now-a-days, particularly in the financial sectors. There is no such thing like stress- free job. Everyone in their work is exposed to tension and anxiety as they gets through the duties assigned to them. Banking industry which is the backbone of the country’s economy is not an exceptional one. The job nature of banking employees is very tedious as it involves the direct customer interaction in all levels. So this study aims to analyse the level of stress faced by bank employees who are under different categories from both public and private sectors of selected banks which resides in Tamilnadu.

E-learning has become a global phenomenon and it is the central theme of many industries and organizations for the additional method of training which can complement traditional methods of learning. The practices of E-learning and Learning management system (LMS) in the banking sector make the drastic changes in the employee performance and their knowledge regarding job in the modern banking structure. This study provides a comprehensive body of knowledge about LMS and e-learning, in general, within the public and private bank in India. The main objective of this paper to understand and analyze the attitude of employees towards E-learning practices in banking sector in Shivamogga district. The data was analyzed by using exploratory factor analysis, based on the responses received from a random the sample 50 of the bank employees working in the private sector banks.

Occupational stress is caused by various reasons, such as, workload and long working hours. This leads to occurrence of trend in using wellness activities to treat physical and psychological illness that is known as complementary therapy, which is Yoga, Aromatherapy, Qi gong, and Islamic Medical Practices (Ruqyah). Therefore, this research offered a perspective on the use of complementary therapies as a tool in improving and maintaining mental health condition of employees located in Penang, Malaysia. Qualitative method was used where 5 complementary therapy practitioners were interviewed to identify the perceptions towards the use of complementary therapy and to identify the type of therapy that can be practiced to reduce stress, as well as, discuss the benefits of complementary therapies. It was found that complementary therapy is very beneficial as it acts as a holistic treatment, natural way of healing and more empowering, as it helps to improve employee’s mental, emotional and physical health.Keywords: occupational stress; complementary therapy; mental health; holistic; conventional

Occupational stress occurs to anyone, including hospital workers who are at high risk of depression, commit suicide, and experience excessive anxiety. The stress was one of the long-standing problems that occur among them. This study aimed to determine the risk of occupational stress among administration employees at X Hospital. This research used a quantitative with cross-sectional approach. The sample for this research was all 58 of the office employees in X Hospital. The method used in this research was the total sampling method. This research was undertaken from March to June 2020. The research instrument was a questionnaire that includes personal characteristics (age, sex, and working period), occupational stress, and organizational factors (mental workload, working hours, and income). The result showed that 77.6% of employees deal with heavy occupational stress. The statistical analysis result showed that working mental workload (p-value= 0.009) had a significant correlation with occupational stress. Meanwhile, age (p-value = 0.404), sex (p-value = 0.094), working period (p-value = 0.480), working hours (p-value = 0.073), and income (p-value = 0.862) did not have significant correlation with occupational stress. Therefore, the hospital should pay more attention to employees, their mental health, and their occupational stress.Keywords: mental workload, income, age

This investigation was directed to find out the causes and consequences of School – Related Gender Based Violence (SRGBV) in Ivo local Government area of Ebonyi State, South East, Nigeria. The researcher formulated two research questions and one hypothesis to guide the investigation. The instrument used to elicit information from the respondents is, “School – Related Gender Based Violence and Consequences among Secondary School Students Questionnaire” (SRGBVACASSSQ). The instrument was made up of 9 items on the causes of School related gender based violence and 11 on the consequences. The instrument had a reliability coefficient of 0.87, language appropriateness, content and facial validity. The purposive sampling technique was used to select 384 respondents that participated in the research. The researcher and two research assistants retrieved 346 copies of the questionnaire from the respondents. The data from the field work were collated by the researcher, the mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while the t-test was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The researcher used 2.50 as benchmark to find out if respondents agreed or disagreed with the 20 items in the questionnaire. The research revealed in table one a mean score of 3.04 as an indication that many teachers flog students in schools to demonstrate their power over them (students), a mean of 3.00 in table one shows that when bullies are not frequently punished, they continue to bully others in schools, a mean score of 3.07 in table one revealed that boys beat up girls in the secondary schools to show that men are more powerful than women and a mean score of 3.04 in table one revealed that promise of good grades can make some female students to go into sexual relationship with some male teachers.

The paper presents ethical problems faced by the employees of selected banks in Poland. The theoretical section of the paper describes the codes of ethics in banking, especially those concerning the moral aspects of working in banking. The empirical part of the paper presents the results of research on the ethos of bank workers. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were carried out using a special Internet forum devoted to the banking sector. The study includes a content analysis of comments posted by the bank employees on the Internet forum.
