The relationships between work values ethic, design leadership and workplace innovation: A study of retailers in Malaysia

This study examines the effect of design leadership behavior on the relationship between work values ethic and workplace innovation in Malaysia. Data were collected from 317 Malaysian retailer respondents. The instruments used to measure the three constructs were the Work Values Ethic (WVE) instrument, the Design Leadership Questionnaire (DLQ), and the Workplace Innovation Scale (WIS). Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS) and AMOS were used to analyze the data. We constructed the measurement models and structural models and found that both the design leadership (DL) and workplace innovation (WI) constructs were formative in nature. The results indicated that design leadership is a strong and significant mediator on the relationship between work values ethic and workplace innovation.

La psicología de la sustentabilidad estriba en la predicción de un comportamiento que, por sus dimensiones y determinantes, se ha identificado como factor de sustentabilidad. En este sentido, este trabajo pretende discutir el proceso sociohistórico en el que se ha desarrollado el constructo del comportamiento sustentable, más a partir de evidencias empíricas que de debates teóricos, conceptuales, metodológicos o estadísticos. Este ejercicio llama la atención acerca de la participación deliberativa de la comunidad y se inscribe en el debate sobre la relación entre sociedad y Estado con respecto a la conservación de los recursos naturales mediante los servicios públicos, municipales y residenciales. En este tenor, la revisión de los hallazgos extraídos del contraste de modelos de medición en referencia a modelos estructurales supone no sólo la especificación de relaciones de dependencia, sino su discusión, dado que fueron importados de disciplinas tales como la pedagogía, la economía, la sociología o la antropología para incorporarlos en los modelos predictivos del comportamiento sustentable.Palabras clave: Recursos naturales, Servicios públicos, Psicología de la sustentabilidad, Comportamiento sustentable, Modelos estructurales Theory of sustainable behavior for local developmentSummaryThe psychology of sustainability is based on the prediction of a behavior that, due to its dimensions and determinants, has been identified as a sustainability factor. <p>During their studies, students get various knowledge and abilities both general to specific in their field of interest. This knowledge will be used when faced with problems in the professional working world. But how much of it contributes to graduates behaviors in the workplace? This study aims to provide an overview of the relationship between Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Teamwork abilities in the practice of Innovation within the company. The study uses is a quantitative research method using a questionnaire conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, distributed via Google Forms. The study was conducted with a population of undergraduate graduates in Indonesia who are already working, with a target of 205 respondents. Data processing that includes measurement models and structural models is carried out with the help of IBM SPSS AMOS 22.0 software. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between each independent variable on the dependent variable used, namely Innovation.</p><p><strong>BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK</strong></p><p>Mahasiswa selama berkuliah mendapat berbagai pengetahuan dan kemampuan baik yang sifatnya mendasar maupun lebih spesifik ke bidang peminatannya. Pengetahuan ini yang nantinya akan digunakan ketika dihadapkan pada masalah di dunia kerja. Namun berapa banyak dari hal ini berkontribusi kepada lulusan sarjana ketika memasuki lapangan pekerjaan? Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan suatu gambaran akan hubungan kemampuan <em>Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Communication</em>, dan <em>Teamwork</em> pada praktik <em>Innovation</em> di perusahaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan kuesioner saat pandemi COVID-19 disebarkan via Google Forms. Penelitian dilakukan dengan populasi alumni Strata Satu di Indonesia yang sudah bekerja, dengan target sebanyak 205 responden. Pengolahan data yang mencakup model pengukuran dan model struktural dilakukan dengan bantuan perangkat lunak IBM SPSS AMOS 22.0. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan positif antara masing-masing variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat yang digunakan yaitu <em>Innovation</em>.</p>

The objective of the research is to determine the relationship between academic motivation and the professional skills development in the specialty of Social Sciences and Tourism. The study is quantitative and the design is non-experimental correlational translational. The results indicate that there is a high level relationship (0.914) between the independent academic motivation variable and the professional competences development in the Specialty of Social Sciences and Tourism. In conclusion, motivation is directly related to the professional skills development in the specialty of Social Sciences and Tourism. The research results conclude that there is a high relationship between the variables.

The aim of this study is the creative problem-solving capacity of the organization with leadership behaviors of human resources managers and employees to examine the relationship between career satisfaction and is tested empirically. Research within the scope of the required data structured questionnaire method, operating in the province of Aydin was obtained from 130 employees working in five star hotels. Democratic leadership style according to the factor analysis, easygoing, participants converter, and releasing autocratic leadership dimensions were determined. According to the analysis, the dependent variable with a significant level of research and positive leadership style has been determined that no relationships. Regression analysis revealed that the leadership of the relationship with the creative problem-solving capacity of democratic leadership in style when found to be stronger than other leadership styles, while the variable describing the career of the employee satisfaction level of the maximum it was concluded that the creative problem-solving capacity of the organization. Research in the context of human resources on the very important for organizations, leadership behavior, creative problem-solving capacity and career satisfaction studies analyzing the relationships between variables it seems to be quite limited. The discovery by analyzing the relationship between the aforementioned variables, can make significant contributions to knowledge in the literature and are expected to form the basis for future research.

This study aims to determine the relationship of work values with the Batak Toba ethnic. This research was conducted at the Mobile Brigade Unit of the North Sumatra Regional Police. The subjects in this study were 45 people. This study uses a quantitative description approach. The results of the study are to find that hamoraon, hagabeon and hasangapon (3H) are in line with the principle of the work value of Brimob members. 3H is the peak achievement of individual Toba Batak ethnic work value in the mobile brigade unit of the North Sumatra regional police. Keyword: Work value, Batak Toba Etnic   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan nilai kerja dengan etnis Batak Toba. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Satuan Brigade Mobile Kepolisian Daerah Sumatera Utara. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 45 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskripsi. Hasil penelitian adalah menemukan bahwa hamoraon, hagabeon dan hasangapon (3H) sejalan dengan prinsip nilai kerja pada satuan anggota Brimob. 3H merupakan puncak pencapaian dari nilai kerja individu yang beretnis Batak Toba di satuan brigade mobile kepolisian daerah Sumatera Utara. Autobiographic and narrative research has recently grown in stature in the field of social sciences. Inspired by Asian TESOL researchers’ critical analyses of self-stories, this paper attempts to reflect upon the author’s personal history in relation to English and discuss ways in which she can position herself as both an English learner and a non-native English speaker (NNES) teacher. The self-reflection and discussion is followed by an argument for performativity, a notion drawing on poststructuralism to understand language itself and the global spread of English. This paper, itself a performative act conducted by a secondary school teacher, exemplifies the concept. The non-academic schoolteacher’s very act of writing in an academic journal aims to contribute to questioning assumptions underlying the relationship between theory and practice and to reconstituting the academic fields of applied linguistics and TESOL. 近年、自伝的かつ語りを含む研究が社会科学の分野で活発になってきている。本稿では、TESOLを専門とする、あるアジア人研究者が彼女たち自身の物語を素材として実施した批判的分析に着想を得て、英語にまつわる自己の歴史を振り返り、英語学習者としての、またNNESの英語教師としてのポジショナリティをどこに位置づけるのかという問題について議論する。さらに、この批判的自己内省を経て、言語そのもの、あるいは英語という言語の地球規模的広がりを理解するために、ポスト構造主義の概念であるパフォーマティヴィティについて検証する。なお、本稿これ自体がある高校教師によるパフォーマティヴな実践であることに言及しておきたい。研究者ではなく、一高校教師が学術雑誌に投稿することを通じ、理論と実践の関係性の背後にある前提に疑問を投げかけ、その結果、応用言語学やTESOLという学問分野の再構築に貢献できることを希望している。

This article analyzes how the research on the relation between capitalism and the state in Latin America has developed from the 1950s up to the present. It starts from the premise that knowledge of this relation in sociology and other social sciences in Latin America has been taking shape through the disputes that have opposed three intellectual standpoints: autonomist, denialist, and North-centric. It analyzes how these standpoints envision the relationship between economy and politics and how they conceptualize three regionally and globally growing trends: the concentration of power, social inequality, and environmental depletion. It concludes with a series of challenges aimed at restoring the theoretical and political potency of the autonomist program in Latin American sociology.
