Abstract Starting points: In Slovenia, the higher education institution for nursing started exploring employability opportunities in nursing care in connection with the achievement of competencies from students’ and employers’ point of view. This article highlights the importance of monitoring nursing graduates’ employability. Its aim is to examine the employability of nursing care graduates based on the self-evaluation of competences obtained during the last study year and to establish a link between the self-evaluation of competences and students’ academic performance. Methodology: A questionnaire was distributed to full and part time nursing care students attending the last study year at five different healthcare/health sciences faculties in Slovenia and to employers (healthcare institutions) where the majority of nursing care graduates finds employment. We examined the level of competence achieved by nursing students and the level of competences required by employers. The sample included a total of 485 students. 194 surveys were returned, which represent a 40 percent response. We used Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for each individual joined competence. Further, we compared employability skills of students and employers with Mann-Whitney and Wilcox rank-sum test. For correlation between two variables we used Spearman correlation analysis. Results: The Mann-Whitney and Wilkson Rank test show that employers generally assess competences with a higher average grade in comparison to students and these differences are statistically significant. By applying the Spearman correlation analysis, we established that a statistically significant weak correlation may be observed between the “average grade” and “competences” variables. Discussion and conclusion: Our findings show that a continuous monitoring of general and subject-specific competences gained by students, along with a periodic verification of competences demanded by employers, is necessary. It is very important to monitor the requirements of the labour market in terms of ongoing communication with employers who can best estimate special knowledge needs.

This study analyses 25 nursing care reports written by nursing students majoring in the International Class of Nursing Diploma at a higher education institution in Indonesia. The main research focus is to assess the cohesion and coherence of nursing care reports in relation to their grades. The Systemic Functional Linguistics framework, with a focus on the textual metafunction, serves as a tool for analyzing cohesion, Thematic structures and Thematic development of the texts. The analysis of text cohesion revealed that all texts predominantly used lexical cohesion and reference to build internal ties within the texts. Reiteration of the same lexical items throughout the texts and heavy use of personal pronouns indicated the exploitation of these systems. In terms of coherence via Thematic structure, it was found that textual Themes were predominantly used. All the texts relied heavily on unmarked Themes, with no evidence indicating a proportional use of marked and unmarked Themes. In terms of Thematic development, Theme reiteration was the main method of text development for all texts. However, a few instances of Zig-zag Thematic development were found in texts in the higher graded categories. None of the texts used multiple Rheme patterns as an alternative method of text development.

Introduction. While the importance of digital reading in modern education is constantly increasing, there are some knowledge gaps in investigating reading patterns (reading digital and print texts). There is still little scientific understanding of how Russian schoolchildren choose the medium of reading and how children assess their reading behavior in the digital environment. The purpose of the article is to reveal the factors that influence Russian schoolchildren’s choice of a reading medium, as well as the features of their self-evaluation of digital reading practices. Materials and Methods. To achieve the goal of the study we used the following methods: a questionnaire, statistical data processing, including t-test, correlation analysis using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient (rs) for ordinal variables and Pearson's coefficient (rp) for quantitative variables, comparative analysis based on the Mann-Whitney rank test for nonparametric data and ordinal scales, ANOVA. Results. During the research a questionnaire consisting of three blocks of questions was developed, tested and distributed among the target audience. 568 students of grades 5-11 from 54 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the survey. Correlation analysis of the data made it possible to reveal some factors which influence the Russian schoolchildren’s choice of the reading medium - digital or printed. Furthermore, the authors identified the features of schoolchildren’s subjective perception of digital reading and the factors determining this perception. Conclusions. The study identified factors which significantly affect the Russian children’s preference to read digitally: the type of text, the purpose of reading, the respondents’ age, their attitude to reading and the level of reading proficiency (according to self-report data). Children’s self-evaluation of digital reading showed that they identify both negative (increased fatigue, decreased interest in reading, etc.) and positive aspects of reading digital texts (efficiency of search reading). In all evaluations of universities, either of programs, schools, or the institution as a whole body, the starting point is the self-evaluation report. Its importance is crucial since all the recommendations and conclusions are based on its content. The purpose of this chapter is to reveal the importance of the self-development process as part of the self-management strategies that need to be implemented in higher education universities, in the context of the quality assessment procedures. In the contemporary context, the process of university development has to be understood as a self-development process, taking into consideration all the reforms and changes generated since the the Bologna Declaration (1999). Therefore, it is important to reveal the characteristics of the process of self-development for the higher education institution, to identify most relevant methods of management development, and to explain how self-management strategies can be supported for universities to become better off. In addition, the concept of quality convergence is expressed on the basis of the self-development process.

In the nearest future, most industries, including hospitality, will be characterized by significant changes linked to the change of business models, leaders break through innovations due to the new global epidemiological situation. Considering the new digitization trends in the hospitality industry, only companies with employees with high-level digital competence will be able to survive, adapt and develop. The dual study environment of a higher education institution ‒ the study environment of a higher education institution and the environment of professional activities plays a major role in the development of digital competence. On the basis of the ecological approach, there has been the context of information and communication technology environment viewed in the article within the substantiation of digital competence. The aim of the study was: during the pedagogical experiment to approbate the developed “Model of the dual study environment of a higher education institution” and to evaluate university hospitality students’ competitiveness including digital competence as competitiveness integral part. To find out how significantly has changed the self-evaluation of students’ digital competence after the prospective hospitality business managers’ competitiveness facilitation in the framework of the developed dual study environmental model. Both before and after the pedagogical experiment the students performed the self-evaluation of digital competence by using the authors’ developed and examined competitiveness evaluation methodology. The obtained results testify that the developed and approbated model for promotion of competitiveness development in general impacted self-assessments of the students' digital competence during the pedagogical experiment.

The purpose of this article is to determine the application of self-evaluation and co-evaluation in the learning processes in the General Educational Unit “Eloy Alfaro” of the Chone canton. The results of the information presented in this section were obtained through exploratory and field research, taking teachers and students as a sample by means of the survey as an information collection technique. To process the data, the methods of analysis and synthesis, statistical, inductive-deductive, which provided the inputs for the analysis and interpretation of results, have also used, and bibliographic sources were used to support the research process that contributed to the knowledge. This allowed us to conclude that the teachers of the Eloy Alfaro General Educational Unit frequently apply the hetero-evaluation and rarely make use of the self-evaluation and the co-evaluation to assess the learning process of their students, to fully evaluate the students, it is necessary to integrate the different evaluation styles, in this way a more fair and equitable assessment will be made taking into account the point of view of the student himself and his classmates, and not only the criteria of the twelve.

Introduction: Professional nurses should have adequate competency in order to apply Evidence Based Practice (EBP) in their nursing care. However, many nurses provide nursing care based on traditions, habits and personal experience. Less confidence in the feeling of nurses about their competency when employing EBP could inhibit successful EBP implementation in nursing care. Therefore, introducing and applying EBP during clinical placements in the Ners program is essential to form a professional attitude and to provide a basic level of experience when applying EBP in patient care. However, the self-efficacy and competence of the students when applying EBP has not yet been evaluated properly and there is little known about the nursing students’ competences and self-efficacy toward EBP implementation during clinical practice. Thus, the study aims to describe the self-efficacy and competency of nursing students toward the implementation of EBP, while also investigating the relationship between self-efficacy and the competency of nursing students in the implementation of EBP.Methods: This descriptive correlational study involved 120 nursing students who were actively registered on the Ners program 2016/2017. The data was collected by using the self-reporting Evidence-Based Practice Questionnaire (EBPQ), which was then analysed descriptively and inferentially using statistics. Results: The results of this study revealed that more than half (55%) of the participants had a high score of self-efficacy and almost half (49%) were categorised as having a high competence when implementing EBP. The self-efficacy score was significantly correlated to the score of competency (r = 0.607, p < 0.01).Conclusion: This study recommends that the development of the students’ competence in implementing EBP is essential to promote self-efficacy when applying EBP, and vice versa.

Aerobics was officially introduced into my country in the 1980 s. With the further development of sports, Chinese universities and primary and secondary schools gradually introduced aerobics and related courses into teaching, making aerobics develop rapidly. Due to objective reasons, the teaching of aerobics has always been at a low-efficiency teaching level. Therefore, it is urgent to establish a digital system of aerobics information. The aerobics knowledge database is for aerobics teachers to publish teaching knowledge, students learn aerobics knowledge and interact with teachers. Platform, the platform can use various technical means to increase the relevant knowledge content, enrich the means of interaction between the platform and students, the system architecture mainly solves the connection of various links in the system application, the deployment of subsystems, and the storage of information. On the basis of the platform, it provides a powerful technical support for the teaching and promotion of aerobics. The experimental results of this paper show that the system shows that the self-evaluation of aerobics of the experimental class in the male group is 0% in the 6th class, and 100% is satisfied or above. The self-evaluation of the aerobics of the experimental class of the female group is in the fourth. The dissatisfaction rate is 0% during the course, and 100% is satisfied or above. From this point of view, the system meets the requirements.

Abstract. Two experiments tested the hypothesis that self-evaluation can serve as a source of interpersonal attitudes. In the first study, self-evaluation was manipulated by means of false feedback. A subsequent learning phase demonstrated that the co-occurrence of the self with another individual influenced the evaluation of this previously neutral target. Whereas evaluative self-target similarity increased under conditions of negative self-evaluation, an opposite effect emerged in the positive self-evaluation group. A second study replicated these findings and showed that the difference between positive and negative self-evaluation conditions disappeared when a load manipulation was applied. The implications of self-evaluation for attitude formation processes are discussed.
