The project presents the application of the stages proposed by Poyla for solving problems in mathematics, which have been adapted in mechanical physic. Critical reading strategies have also been applied resulting in reading physical problems comprehensively. Objectives: To incorporate real problem solving as a teaching strategy in two mechanical physics courses (one experimental and another traditional), in order to characterize the group that applies the problem-solving strategy. To validate the problem-solving strategy in mechanical physics. Methods: Mixed research including analysis and contrast of results obtained from two control groups: one experimental (24 university students of Mechanical Physics) and another traditional (16 university students of Mechanical Physics). The control group approaches the study of the subjects in a traditional way where the problems proposed are solved intuitively and somehow mechanically. The experimental group solves the proposed problems by applying each of the stages of the proposed sequence. The experimental group solves the proposed problems by applying each of the stages of the proposed sequence. This study differs from previous studies in that most are related to problem-solving in mathematics and in this case, we focus on physics with the value of involving elements related to critical reading, which gives a more realistic look of the Physical phenomenon studied from the interpretation of its occurrence and how it impacts the environment, which favors its theoretical understanding and gives meaning to its mathematical modeling.

The purpose of this study was inquiring The Impact of the Problem Solving Strategy on Acquiring Technology Concepts in the Computer Science of Ninth Grade Students in Jordan. To achieve goals of this study, a test has been developed to observe the Technology Concepts. The researcher adopted a quasi-experimental approach in which the experimental group consisting of (30) students was taught in accordance with Problem Solving Strategy. At the same time, the controlled group consisting of (30 students) was taught in the traditional way. The tests and the motive measuring was applied prior and post- teaching on both groups. The Analysis of Covariance results (ANCOVA) indicated a significant difference at (α≤0.05) between the two groups, which is attributed to the Problem Solving Strategy, in developing the Acquiring Concepts in Computer Science, of Computer Science Education Course for the experimental group. The results also indicated variation in the performance of (the experimental group) students in the posttest of the Problem Solving Strategy (in developing the Technology Concepts. The study recommended introducing the Problem Solving Strategy in the teaching of Computer Science Education Course, and conducting other similar studies in different educational stages.

This study aimed to reveal the effect of a group counseling program based on a problem-solving strategy in reducing psychological stress among adolescent girls from divorced families. The study sample consisted of (30) students from children of divorced families, in the age group (13-16) years, enrolled in one of the public schools in Zarqa in the second semester 2018/2019. To achieve the objectives of the study, a quasi-experimental design was adopted, in which the sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group (n = 15), that was exposed to the counseling program, and a control group (n = 15) for whom the program was not presented. Both groups underwent a total of two sessions per week, in which the session duration ranged between (45-60) minutes. The results of the current study indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the average performance of the members of the experimental and control groups on the psychological stress test in its psychological, cognitive, and physiological dimensions in favor of the experimental group. This indicates the program’s efficiency in reducing psychological stresses. The study recommended developing more group counseling programs to address psychological, personal, social, and behavioral issues among adolescent girls and boys from divorced families.   Received: 5 July 2021 / Accepted: 2 September 2021 / Published: 5 November 2021

This research aims to describe logical thinking process of a logical-mathematical intelligence student. We employ qualitative method to disclose the subject’s learning process. Data are collected by interview and modified think aloud methods. The results show that subject has capability to find and organize problems and data correctly. Subject describes conditions that are needed to do the steps of problem solving strategy. The steps are done systematically until the end of problem solving process.

This study was an Action Research which was conducted because the student’s achievement on Mathematics  were still lower than The Minimum Achievement Criteria (KKM). The research was conducted to see whether the Systematic Problem Solving Strategy could improve the student’s learning achievement. The aim of the research was to improve the student’s comprehension on Algebra Limit Function subject In Mathematics, so their learning achievement also improved significantly. The research participants were the students of grade XI IPS 2 SMAN 1 Kerinci. The researcher was helped by a collaborator who was a Math Teacher at the same school. The study was done in two cycles with four stages, (a) Planning (b) Action (c) Observation (d) Reflection. The result of data analysis showed that the student’s average score in cycle 1 was 69 (65%). It became higher in cyle 2 to 83 ( 85%). There was significant improvement seen from the result of cycle 1 compared to cycle 2. It could be concluded that the implementation of Systematic Problem Solving Strategy on Algebra Limit Function subject improved the student’s learning achievement significantly. Therefore, it was suggested to Math Teachers to apply the strategy in teaching  as the alternative solution particularly in Algebra Limit Function subject
