Recent years have witnessed the effectiveness of political public relations in influencing public opinion and election results. The unpredictable support of Donald Trump in the US presidential election, the unexpected vote for Brexit in the UK and the victory of former comedian Volodymyr Zelensky in the Ukrainian presidential election might serve as the examples. The public relations research shows the uncertainty about the impact of social media and other online communication platforms on building strong connections between political subjects and society. The aim of this study is to reveal and evaluate the nature, methods and impact of the mechanism of political relations with the public to the society in general, and in social networks in particular.Statistical research and open source analysis were used as the main methods of this study. As an example of the above-mentioned political communications, we cite the election campaign of the current president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, namely its Facebook component.The novelty of this study is the statistical analysis of political technologies and assessment of their impact on society, on sustainable relations between society and politicians, and their impact on the formation of sustainable ideas.Modern methods of political influence were found to be undergoing some difficult changes. More and more social media occupies a significant part of political communication and forms ideas that are later perceived and relayed by the society.This paper identifies the main mechanisms and technologies that modern politicians use to achieve their political goals. A method of using a banner on Facebook to form a political agenda, mood and ideas was described. The influence of the used technologies, the reasons and consequences of use of these technologies in the environment of social networks were estimated.The Facebook page of V. Zelensky was analyzed. The use of political ideas in the 2019 election campaign and the formation of public relations were assessed. Indicators of the growing popularity of political ideas and key technologies used to achieve this goal were identified. The degree of assimilation of the image of V. Zelensky as a president in society was revealed. Also, the growing trend of Ukrainian society's involvement in the political life of the state during the elections was characterized.

PurposeThe aim of this study was to understand how public relations leaders view and use social media analytics (SMA) and the impact of SMA on the public relations function.Design/methodology/approachThe research involved in-depth interviews with chief communication officers (CCOs) from leading multinational corporate brands.FindingsThe findings revealed that although CCOs perceive social media analytics as strategically important to the advancement of public relations, the use of social media data is slowed by challenges associated with building SMA capacity.Theoretical and practical implications – The research extends public relations theory on public relations as a strategic management function and provides practical insights for building SMA capabilities.Originality/valueThe study is among the first to provide empirical evidence of how companies are using social media analytics to enhance public relations efforts.

BACKGROUND Under these circumstances, social media is constantly covering the news and the related information via films, voices, clips, and texts; however, these reports are sometimes challenging outbreak response efforts. For instance, the misinformation and conspiracy theories spread via social media have generated panic and mistrust among the general public, diverted attention away from the outbreak response, and impeded the activities of health-care workers (6). Another evidence shows that many public safety agencies and organizations face the challenge of reducing the spread of false information distributed via social media (9). Accordingly, the aim of this study was to analyze the contents of information shared via virtual social media over the three weeks since the formal confirmation of COVID-19 outbreak in the Islamic Republic of Iran. OBJECTIVE According to the effective role of social media in communicating risk information to the public, the aim of this study was to analyze the contents of information shared via virtual social media over the three weeks since the formal confirmation of COVID-19 outbreak in the Islamic Republic of Iran. METHODS This qualitative discourse analysis was conducted on the contents of three more common virtual social networks (Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram) from Feb20 to March 11, 2020 in Iran. Four steps of defining the research question and selecting the content of analysis, gathering information and theory on the context, analyzing the content for themes and patterns and reviewing the results and drawing conclusions were conducted. RESULTS Based on the results, the contents of social media in the analysis duration were allocated four main categories related to the COVID-19 outbreak including political, social, health, and economic issues CONCLUSIONS It seems that all three social Medias have an effective role to share public information, especially those that are related to the public health and health education but at the same time, the analyzed social media have created the sense of panic and fear, particularly in the scopes of social, economic, and political issues.

The research explores the new media tools manifested in communication and public relations discursive practices in organization, marked by Bahtinian polyphony in media relations texts. The study of organization theory can be defined, analyzed and evaluated as dialogic organization constructed in and by dialogues as discursive practices [Hatch 2006, Grunig, 2002, Castells 2011]. Redefining polyphony consists in analyzing the original definition as “one self - concept is formed part from the social relationship we have with others and from others’ responses to what we say and do…….Because the self is constructed out of our need to balance on our own needs with those of others, the self is necessarily dialogic or make in concert with others”.[Bahtin, 1981] But having the keys for reading the self – concept as the social identity of an organization, the social relationships with others, namely the public(s) as groups of interests validated in the public sphere, and the roles and relations starting from the organization to and from the public(s). Thus evaluating the main levels offered by the framework in organization, the current research has identified: the intentional level created in the communicative contract by the organization in the context the new media have been used; the impact upon the public(s) - audience and/or communities throughout the means of new media and social media, analyzing their posts, comments; the rules of structuring the sequential configuration of the messages in media text as dialog, trilog or polilog in the polyphony of discursive media relations practices in organization’s site, blog, social media units-Facebook, Twitter, You Tube.

One of the most relevant issues that companies, offices and marketing experts, sociologists and scholars must address studying a new brand or product launch is without any doubt the impact - in terms of feedback - on the consumer sentiment. The study of users' opinions on a specific product or brand has changed with the advent of Web 2.0, which has overcome the old surveys model leading consumers in a too complex and not genuine area, reaching more sophisticated research or even better tracking their opinions directly “on the field”, i.e. in the community where this exchange of views and information happens naturally and not artificially. The analysis of consumers' opinions on social media provides enormous opportunities for the public and the private spheres. Concerning the last on the reputation of a certain product/brand or firm is strongly influenced by the voices and negative opinions published and shared by users on social networks. Indeed, companies need to adapt their behaviour monitoring public opinion.

The article examines the phenomenon of the influence of social networks on election campaigns using the example of Norway. For an introduction to the context of the electoral situation in Norway, the author describes the election programs of the main Norwegian political parties. Methods of content analysis and discourse analysis are used to better understand network voter mobilization. The author provides a review of the literature on this topic in order to substantiate the need for the applied methodology. The analysis of the share of Internet users in different countries has been carried out. The most popular social networks have been identified and the networks that are best suited for political mobilization and are used in Norway have been identified. The author carried out a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the official Facebook accounts of the Norwegian parliamentary parties during the election campaign in 2021. The study revealed the main trends in the behavior of political parties and their voters on the Facebook social network. The author concludes that all political parties in Norway use social networks as one of the main channels for mobilizing supporters. In addition, this tool allows parties to respond to current topics and changing voter sentiments.

The Swiss Armed Forces (SAF), as part of a democratic system, depends on legitimacy. Democracy, legitimacy and the public are closely connected. In the public sphere the SAF need to be visible; it is where they are controlled and legitimated by the citizens, as part of a deliberative discussion in which political decisions are communicatively negotiated. Considering this, the meaning of political communication, including the SAF’s communication, becomes obvious as it forms the most important basis for political legitimation processes. Social media provide a new way for the SAF to communicate and interact directly with the population. The SAF’s social media communication potentially brings it closer to the people and engages them in a dialogue. The SAF can become more transparent and social media communication may increase its reputation and legitimacy. To measure the effects of social media communication, a survey of the Swiss internet population was conducted. Based on this data, a structural equation model was defined, the effects of which substantiate the assumption that the SAF benefits from being on social media in terms of broadening its reach and increasing legitimacy values.

The paper analyses specific features of sociological data circulation in a public space during an election campaign. The basic components of this kind of space with regard to sociological research are political actors (who put themselves up for the election), voters and agents. The latter refer to professional groups whose corporate interests are directly related to the impact on the election process. Sociologists can also be seen as agents of the electoral process when experts in the field of electoral sociology are becoming intermingled with manipulators without a proper professional background and publications in this field. In a public space where an electoral race is unfolding, empirical sociological research becomes the main form of obtaining sociological knowledge, and it is primarily conducted to measure approval ratings. Electoral research serves as an example of combining the theoretical and empirical components of sociological knowledge, as well as its professional and public dimensions. Provided that sociologists meet all the professional requirements, electoral research can be used as a good tool for evaluating the trustworthiness of results reflecting the people’s expression of will. Being producers of sociological knowledge, sociologists act in two different capacities during an election campaign: as analysts and as pollsters. Therefore, it is essential that the duties and areas of responsibility for professional sociologists should be separated from those of pollsters. Another thing that needs to be noted is the negative influence that political strategists exert on the trustworthiness of survey findings which are going to be released to the public. Using the case of approval ratings as an illustration, the author analyses the most common techniques aimed at misrepresenting and distorting sociological data in the public space. Particular attention is given to the markers that can detect bogus polling companies, systemic violations during the research process and data falsification.

Subject. The emergence of new ways of interaction between sellers and buyers, the formation of new sales channels and product promotion based on the use of digital economy tools is at the heart of improving the business processes. Social networks became a tool for development; their rapid growth necessitates theoretical understanding and identification of potential application in enterprise's business process digitalization. Objectives. We explore the role of social media in the digitalization of business processes, systematize the impact of social networks on business processes of enterprises in the digital economy. Methods. The theoretical and methodological analysis of social networks as a tool for digitalization of company's business processes rests on the content analysis of domestic and foreign scientific studies, comparison, generalization and systematization. Results. We highlight the key effects of the impact of social networks on the business processes of the company; show that the digitalization of business processes should be considered in the context of a value-based approach, aimed at creating a value through the algorithmization of company operations. We determine that social networks are one of the most important tools for digitalization of company's business processes, as they have a high organizational and management potential. We also systematize the effects of social media on company's business processes. Conclusions. We present theoretical provisions of the impact of social networks on business processes of enterprises, which will enable to model and organize ideas about the development of digital ecosystems and the formation of business models.

The development of technology, information technology and various means of communication have a significant impact on public relations activity; especially in government institutions. Many government institutions have invested these means in their management system, in order to facilitate the goals of the institution, and ultimately the interaction between the internal and external public. In this theoretical research, I tried to explain the impact of the new media on public relations in the public administration, based on the views of specialists. The aim of the research is to know the use of the new media of public relations and how in the system of public administration, as well as, Explaining the role it plays in public relations activities of government institutions. Add to this, analyzing the way of how new media and public relations participate in the birth of e-government. In the results, it is clear that the new media has facilitated public relations between the public and other institutions, as it strengthened relations between them

The negative stereotypes of librarians’ work perpetuated in the public consciousness and their harmful character. The need to change the public relations of libra-ries and librarians with a view to improving the realization of the tasks they face. Showing the public relations tools which may serve to change the image of librarians and libraries with particular emphasis on social media. This article is a review article, highlighting selected research on the librarian’s stereo-type and suggesting actions that change the image of librarians and libraries.
