Economic development itself is defined as a continuous process that has the aim of increasing a country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and per capita income of a country's population in the long term which has an impact on various aspects, both economic, social, and science and technology. The purpose of economic development in Indonesia is not only to increase per capita income but also to accelerate economic growth. Technological advances as a result of this development will also improve the quality of human resources, improve community welfare, reduce inequality, and reduce unemployment. The government continues to face various forms of economic development problems in Indonesia, including high unemployment, rampant poverty, high population, inflation resulting in low purchasing power, low productivity resulting in low per capita income, and export commodities dominated by the primary sector. Today, the development of Islamic economics, both in academia and practice, is very important to pay attention to. This is also related to how to develop thoughts and applications of the Islamic economic system in Indonesia. Various perspectives in the field of Islamic economics associated with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) themselves were created to answer the demands of world leadership in overcoming poverty, inequality and climate change in the form of real action. Establish a set of targets that can be applied universally and can be measured in balancing the three dimensions of sustainable development such as environmental, social and economic. Islamic economic objectives in several points of view are philosophical goals consisting of Al-Falah (holistic prosperity) and Maqasid al-Shariah and operational objectives consisting of increasing faith, creating maslahah, preventing concentration of wealth, and avoiding dangerous activities and even distribution. On the basis of this Islamic economic objective, the response was the issuance of a Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk as a product of the government through the Ministry of Finance to serve as an alternative to increasing Islamic-based economic development. The method used in this article is descriptive qualitative method with literature review. Through this article, we will try to discuss how this cash waqf linked sukuk can be used as an alternative for sustainable Islamic economic development. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).

Replacing traditional products with green products has become a key way to achieve decoupling between economic development and environmental pollution. As an incentive mechanism, subsidies can be provided by a government to facilitate the popularization and acceptance of green products. Subsidies play a significant role in encouraging the development of green products. We explored the proper optimal subsidy mechanism for green products from the angle of maximizing the net policy return, which cannot only encourage the development of green products but also do not aggravate financial burden for the government. In order to explore the optimal subsidy level for green products from the perspective of net policy benefit maximization, this paper established the optimal subsidy principal-agent models and a numerical example was presented to verify the effectiveness of the model we constructed. The results show that improving investors’ preference and eliminating asymmetric information contribute to reduce subsidy cost savings. Additionally, improving consumer environmental awareness, promoting the development and application of green technology, and reducing market risk reduce subsidy costs. This article provides policymakers with an effective subsidy scheme to accelerate the development of green products and achieve sustainable development goals.

This study aims to analyze the zakat and economic development of Bangka Belitung towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. This program is agreed by various countries in the United Nations (UN) forum. There are 17 targets to be achieved in this program, which is the first target and the eighth target of alleviating poverty in all its forms in all places; And promote the sustainability of sustainable and inclusive economic growth, full and productive employment opportunities, and decent work for all. Both targets can make every region encouraged to think about the right policies to achieve the target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. The research method uses simultaneous equation model with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) because the variables studied are related to each other. The variables studied are zakat and economic development which is represented by income per capita, poverty, and unemployment. The results of this study indicate that the variable of zakat has a significant positive effect on the economic development variables, namely income per capita and unemployment in Bangka Belitung while the poverty variable has a negative effect.

In recent years, healthcare has become a fundamental pillar of the level of well-being of any society. With the aim of improving the lives of countries and societies, in 2015 the United Nations (UN) approved the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Among the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the Agenda are health and well-being (O3) and the reduction of inequalities (O10). The general objective of this paper is to analyse the impact that the level of socioeconomic development, as well as the evolution of inequalities, have had on public spending on health in European Union countries. The research methodology is based on the application of a regression model and statistical techniques such as sigma convergence, beta convergence and the Gini index. We can see that the levels of public spending on health per capita, the level of socio-economic development and the degree of inequality are closely related in these countries. For this reason, we suggest maintaining sustainable economic growth to reduce the economic disparities between EU countries, and also the current differences in public spending on health per capita.

In the Summer 1973 issue of the Pakistan Development Review, Mr. Mohammad Ghaffar Chaudhry [1] has dealt with two very important issues relating to the intersectoral tax equity and the intrasectoral tax equity within the agricultural sector in Pakistan. Using a simple criterion for vertical tax equity that implies that the tax rate rises with per capita income such that the ratio of revenue to income rises at the same percentage rate as per capita income, Mr. Chaudhry found that the agricultural sector is overtaxed in Pakistan. Mr. Chaudhry further found that the land tax is a regressive levy with respect to the farm size. Both findings, if valid, have important policy implications. In this note we argue that the validity of the findings on intersectoral tax equity depends on the treatment of water rate as tax rather than the price of a service provided by the Government and on the shifting assumptions regard¬ing the indirect taxes on imports and domestic production levied by the Central Government. The relevance of the findings on the intrasectoral tax burden would have been more obvious if the tax liability was related to income from land per capita.

The current rapid population growth in many developing countries is the result of an historical process in the course of which mortality rates have fallen significantly but birthrates have remained constant or fallen only slightly. Whereas, in industrial countries, the drop in mortality rates, triggered by improvements in nutrition and progress in medicine and hygiene, was a reaction to economic development, which ensured that despite the concomitant growth in population no economic difficulties arose (the gross national product (GNP) grew faster than the population so that per capita income (PCI) continued to rise), the drop in mortality rates to be observed in developing countries over the last 60 years has been the result of exogenous influences: to a large degree the developing countries have imported the advances made in industrial countries in the fields of medicine and hygiene. Thus, the drop in mortality rates has not been the product of economic development; rather, it has occurred in isolation from it, thereby leading to a rise in population unaccompanied by economic growth. Growth in GNP has not kept pace with population growth: as a result, per capita income in many developing countries has stagnated or fallen. Mortality rates in developing countries are still higher than those in industrial countries, but the gap is closing appreciably. Ultimately, this gap is not due to differences in medical or hygienic know-how but to economic bottlenecks (e.g. malnutrition, access to health services)

Assam was the first state in India to have undertaken the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a long-term guiding strategy for development. At the end of five years, before the state election, evaluating the work on SDGs in Assam is essential to follow up on the commitment of the government. But before we start evaluating the SDGs it is important to understand the development road Assam has taken over the last 100-150 years and why we must make a new turn. This study has tried to understand certain loopholes which have hampered the progress of SDGs in Assam along with how much Assam has been able to address its sustainability issues and how we can progress. We have reviewed the performance of the state based upon the official performance index released by NITI Aayog, Government of India. Our review of the index reflects that Assam has performed relatively poorer than the other states of the country. However, the ethnic culture of the region was deeply rooted in nature which the state can now adopt and harness to achieve its SDGs. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is grounded in different international human rights instruments. Human rights (HR) principles and standards are strongly reflected in several of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets. Furthermore, SDG 17 emphasizes partnership as a key to achieving all of the SDGs. This article examines the SDGs-HR linkage in general, as well as specific HR principles that can be advanced by the achievement of SDG 17. Opportunities and challenges to promote Goal 17 of the SDGs that directly affect certain HRs are also examined. A review of relevant literature, 2030 summit documents, and outcomes of recent international conferences on the SDGs is undertaken in order to determine the progress made towards forging regional and global partnerships for the SDGs, as envisaged in Goal 17. This article finds that the absence of a political will and commitment, increased isolationist policy, narrow nationalism and poor rule linkage at national and international levels are some of the obstacles to the attainment of Goal 17. Yet, opportunities abound to promote the Goal. The article recommends a genuine commitment to implementing the SDGs by encouraging the South-South and North-South to prevent the SDGs from becoming a mere wishlist. Synergy between the government, individuals, civil society organizations (CSOs) and transnational corporations (TNCs) is equally very important. Keywords: Human rights, sustainable development goals, partnership for the goals.

The renewable energy industry is instrumental to the achievement of all of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Given the urgency and scale at which renewables must be deployed to meet the world’s sustainable development and climate goals, it is critical that the industry understand its potential impact on all of the SDGs [McCollum et al., 2019]. This mini revision of energy and its relationship with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is mainly towards the agenda of Decarbonize by Mid-Century, Roadmap to 2050, as the aspiration of the “The World in 2050” (TWI 2050), which transformational of six exemplary to achieve SDGs in long-term period [Stanford et al., 2017]. The Roadmap 2050 dreams for six pillars, which are (1) Zero-Carbon electricity, (2) Electrification of end users, (3) Green Synthetic Fuels, (4) Smart Power Grids, (5) Material Efficiency, and (6) Sustainable Land-use. This pillar is only emphasizing the most intensified sectors that could threaten future society, which are Power, Industry, Transportation and Buildings [Khanna et al., 2019]. However, this update only describes the most related topic on Energy (or Power) as the subject matter. Currently, the recent attention of the common energy sector is to promote the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI), minimizing the coal-fuel or fossil-fuel burning system in energy and transportation sectors, and implementing the Renewable Energy initiatives [Anderson et al., 2018]. SDGs and all impose materials (indicator, measurement, impact and outcome) is not only strategize to make further improvement in life and planet, but beyond the prosperity of humanity in the future with the emphasize of “No One Left Behind”. Energy-research based is the contemporary engagement with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), industry-driven, community translational project and government policy. The aims of this interesting topic are concurrent with the ASEAN Renewable and Energy Roadmap under the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) for the agenda 2030. Therefore, the initiative by “The Hitachi Global Foundation” is recruiting more youth program in the assessment of “promoting of academic research, science and technology” since 2015 for the purpose of pioneering research in society [Hitachi report, 2019]. One of the important enabling sustainability activity is “Energy, Environment” as the contribution to the international community and provide solution to the various issues and challenges. Any research related to the energy will bring back the concepts of SDGs, which combining the 5Ps (Prosperity, People, Partnership, Peace and Planet). Numbers of researchers participating the utmost inspiring “research and empowerment of society” program is being selected based on scientific knowledge, creativity and contribution to the publics. One of the global outcome is a similar targeted by “Roadmap to 2050”, with the clause supporting the RD activities that should aims for continuous process of decarbonisation society and lock-in the solution in long run. Thus, as one of the influential contribution in the roadmap and TWI 2050, The Global Hitachi Foundation is a one step ahead to engage more researchers in the SDGs implementation.

<p><em>In 2018, the quality of Indonesian human resources was ranked 87 out of 157 countries. The good growth of Indonesian human resources, of course, starts from the womb or prenatal period, under five years of age, children, adolescents, to working productive ages. This study chose the topic of stunting, because of the urgency to improve the competitiveness of Indonesian human resources in the regional and international realms. Superior human resources are certainly formed from a long process since childhood. This paper aims to apply the concept of sustainable development goals (SDGs) as a framework adopted by the Government of Indonesia in reducing the prevalence of stunting cases and to provide the latest holistic analysis regarding the implementation of SDGs policies by the Government of Indonesia in reducing the prevalence of stunting cases. This study used qualitative research methods. The result of this research is that collaboration between state and non-state actors is needed to handle stunting cases in Indonesia. Starting from the synergy between ministries / institutions and collaboration with academics, public health scholars, companies, and foreign parties. These results are important as recommendations for each stakeholder in implementing the SDGs concept to reduce the prevalence of stunting cases in Indonesia.</em></p>
