The aim of the study is to analyse and evaluate the state of preservation of residential and garden premises and their current use in the Janów commune (Silesian Voivodeship, Poland). The commune, having a huge landscape and natural potential, has at the same time four palace and park premises that are listed in the Registry of Objects of Cultural Heritage. They are located in: Bystrzanowice-Dwór, Czepurka, ZłotyPotok and Żuraw. The objects’ history, current state and tourist potential, resulting from their presence in the commune, are presented. Tourism, as a tool of regional policy, facilitates professional insertion of local community. It also influences the region in terms of nature conservation, landscape quality and attention to monuments.

Research aim is a comprehensive analysis of the state of preparation of the Kharkiv volume of the multi-volume encyclopedic edition "Collection of monuments of history and culture of Ukraine" from the 1980s – early XXI century and its impact on the field of monument science and monument protection. Research methodology. The article examines the formation of the Kharkiv volume of the multi-volume encyclopedic edition "Collection of Monuments of History and Culture of Ukraine" in the context of a nationwide encyclopedic project in terms of the principles of historicism, system, interdisciplinarity, objectivity, analysis and synthesis. Scientific novelty. In the modern normative system of cultural heritage protection, historical and interdisciplinary research, an important part of measures to protect and promote national cultural heritage in Ukraine and the world and a separate subject of study is "Collection of monuments of history and culture of Ukraine" - fundamental, multidisciplinary, encyclopedic, scientific reference publication, which covers all known in its territory immovable monuments - archeology, history, architecture, urban planning, monumental art, science and technology, which have historical, scientific or artistic value. Conclusions. Having analyzed the main normative principles, legal acts, orders and directives, due to which the functioning of the Code was started, both in Ukraine in information on monuments, changes in administrative-territorial structure and socio-political moments, as well as current experience and the state of preparation of the Kharkiv volume of the publication, we can conclude that the project "Collection of monuments of history and culture of Ukraine" is not only a publication that carries a normative and encyclopedic load. The Code is a scientific basis for compiling the State Register of Immovable Objects of Historical and Cultural Heritage, but it differs in that it contains the most studied number of immovable objects of cultural heritage, not only those that are under state protection. This nationwide project is able to improve the historical and local lore movement, intensify the excursion and tourism component of the region, as well as become the basis for the creation of new modern information resources in the field of protection and research of monuments.

The uniqueness of a historic town lies in its ancient origin (the middle of the 18th century and earlier); in the preserved historical, cultural and architectural environment; in the relationship of the town with significant historical events of the country; in the traditional folk crafts and arts that exist to the present time. It is positioned as a unique heritage site containing the main socio-cultural characteristics of the nation.Since the 1980s, some authors’ works have been attempting to scientifically substantiate the phenomenon of small historic town as a potential of cultural heritage in the context of its socio-cultural significance for the state, society and local community, with its advantages and problems. The purpose of this study is to show the potential of small historic town in the state cultural policy implementation. An analysis of various scientific approaches to the content of the concept of “historic town” is presented. The terminological chain “cultural resource”, “cultural resource of economic activity” and “object of historical and cultural heritage” is also included in the context of the article. The importance of historic towns in the training, education and enlightenment of citizens is invaluable. Scientifically based conclusions and official documents state that the majority of small historic towns cannot solve the accumulated problems on their own. A significant number of historical and cultural monuments require restoration. The inclusion of the potential of small historic town into the socio-cultural space should be carried out on the basis of programs of heritage preservation, development of tourism, folk arts and crafts, publication of the results of historical and cultural studies, creation of a complex of scientific documentaries and TV programs. The experience of Great Britain in protection of cultural heritage is considered. The article analyzes the Russian legislative acts over the past 50 years in relation to architectural monuments, historic towns and settlements. The author focuses on the recent evolution of approaches to the management of historical and cultural heritage of Russia. The obtained data demonstrate that regional executive authorities can become the coordinators of activities in the field of cultural heritage protection and tourism; and local authorities can be the organizers.

The culture and cultural heritage are an expression of a nation's identity, history, tradition and civilization, an indicator of its life in time and space. This paper focuses on the analysis of cultural and religious tourism in Kosovo and Metohija area. The primary data was collected through a survey method, in August 2018, by a sample group of 38 respondents who participated in an organized two-day trip. The goal of this paper is to present the current state of cultural heritage and the significance which religious and cultural tourism have for the development of the local community on Kosovo and Metohija. Results of the research indicate that cultural and religious tourism contributes to regional development, cultural values, but also that a large number of monasteries and churches located in this area represent true sanctity for our people. The purpose of this paper is to point out the importance of cultural and religious tourism on the development of local communities in Kosovo and Metohija, but also to point out the fact that sacral buildings in this area have great, sacred value for our people. The research was conducted through a multidimensional questionnaire. The obtained data were processed manually by the authors of this paper, since the research sample is restrictively small. The scientific research methods used in the paper are the methods of analysis and synthesis, the method of induction and deduction, as well as the method of descriptive analysis. On that occasion, we found that cultural and religious tourism is very developed in this area, despite the unrest that has marked the last decade. Also, it was determined that these forms of tourism are of great importance for the community in Kosovo and Metohija. Tourists view the sacral buildings in this area as great shrines to which they show great respect. The practical implications of this paper are reflected in the fact that the obtained results can be used in further research.

AbstractFollowing the attacks in Timbuktu in 2012, the ICC’s Al Mahdi case became the first instance where one perpetrator was solely charged with the war crime of destruction of cultural heritage. The ICC prioritized the crimes against cultural heritage at the expense of other types of atrocities in Northern Mali for two reasons: expediency, and the convergence of interests between the Court, the Malian state, and the international community. This study finds that the international community, the state, and the local community do not have the same conceptions and approaches regarding cultural heritage, its protection, or its value.

The Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic (MB SR) and the Regional Monuments Boards have been the state administrators of the cultural heritage, including archaeology, since 2002. This article aims to map the current state of archaeological digital archives within MB SR and eight Regional Monuments Boards, as well as present the usage and management of digital datasets within ongoing projects. The central archive of the MB SR maintains historical plans and cultural heritage documentation, created since the 1920s and continuously digitised (the collections of negatives, diapositives, projects, plans, schematic maps, and fieldwork documentation). Since 2012, MB SR has taken part in the Digital Monuments Fund project. Within this project, 2D and 3D documentation of a great number of cultural monuments has been created. In 2019 the implementation phase of the Monuments information system (PAMIS) project started. Its basic modules are the presentation layer, the knowledge agenda and state administration. There are several features in preparation within these modules, such as: updating; collection, consolidation and GIS processing of archaeological site data that belong to the monuments fund, including data from aerial laser scanning; the archaeological excavation registry and the archive of fieldwork reports; the registry of finds in the administration of MB SR; the electronic processing of the state administration activity within the protection of the archaeological cultural heritage. The PAMIS project will provide processed data and make them accessible to the state and public administration, owners of monuments, as well as to professionals and the general public, using online solutions (web GIS) with various approaches according to defined user roles.

The current state of the Moscow Metro station of the first priority that became operational in 1935 does not allow it to be called a cultural heritage site. This is due to the fact that lighting modernisation carried out by the Moscow Metro was based on fluorescent lamps. Such lamps are more energy efficient compared to incandescent lamps, which were used in original lighting devices specified in the Station Lighting Project developed by architects and designers. However, they significantly changed the station appearance, transforming the originally designed station with entire well visible architectural tectonics?1 from the standpoint of lighting into a simple, flat, unremarkable, and little loaded station of the Moscow Metro./br> This paper describes a method of lighting reconstruction at Krasnoselskaya station by means of original lighting devices that meet modern standards and requirements for cultural heritage sites. The historical analysis on the development of the station lighting environment was conducted during its operation in order to understand what kind of station was conceived by its architects, what changes occurred with its lighting over time, and how it influenced the station appearance and safety of passenger transportation.

Modern forest policy must take the following two conditions into account:1. Forest policy is an intersectoral policy involving elements of regional policy, nature conservation and landscape protection policy, as well as agricultural, clean-air, climate and economic policies.2. It is the joint task of the federal authorities, cantons, municipalities, relevant organisations and forest owners. Over the next few years, Buwal will develop a forestry programme for Switzerland together with all the relevant actors, which will fulfil both current and forthcoming forest policy requirements at both national and international levels.
