Kima merupakan jenis kerang yang secara ekologis penting pada ekosistem terumbu karang. Biota laut ini mengalami tekanan antropogenik hampir di sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia. Meskipun status spesies kima ini dilindungi berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) No. 7 tahun 1999, namun aktivitas pengambilan ilegal kima di alam masih terjadi. Hal ini tidak hanya menyebabkan penurunan jumlah jenis dan kelimpahan individu, tetapi dapat mengurangi keragaman genetik jenis kima tersebut. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian keragaman genetik Tridacna maxima berdasarkan marka genetik COI dari Pulau Kur, Pulau Biak dan Manado. Penelitian menggunakan 15 sampel dari Pulau Kur (Penelitian ini), kemudian dibandingkan dengan data genbank (11 sampel dari Biak dan 8 sampel dari Manado). Analisis sekuens DNA mitokondria (mtDNa) T. maxima menghasilkan 432 pasang basa. Terdapat 23 haplotipe dengan jumlah situs bervariasi sebanyak 59 situs. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keragaman genetik populasi T. maxima termasuk sangat tinggi, yaitu 0,95. Jarak genetik antar populasi, berkisar antara 0,009 (Kur-Manado) sampai 0,051 (Biak-Manado). Hasil analisis pohon filogenetik menunjukkan dua kluster utama, yaitu kluster Kur, Biak, dan Manado, dan kluster Biak. Hasil analis Fst berpasangan menunjukkan perbedaan struktur genetik yang signifikan pada populasi T. maxima di Kur dengan Biak (Fst = 0,558; p = 0,000) dan Manado dengan Biak (Fst = 0,427; p = 0,012), sedangkan populasi Kur dan Manado tidak menunjukkan perbedaan genetik yang signifikan (Fst = 0,087; p = 0,064). Upaya Konservasi pada populasi T. maxima di Pulau Kur dapat dilakukan melalui penerapan konservasi sumber daya alam dalam bentuk kearifan lokal berupa sasi yang diperkuat dengan pembentukan kawasan konservasi laut daerah (KKLD) di lokasi penelitian. sedangkan untuk populasi Manado dan biak adalah penetapan wilayah konservasi. Selain itu, upaya pengawasan dan penegakan hukum terhadap aktifitas perburuan liar perlu ditingkatkan agar upaya konservasi tersebut dapat berhasil sehingga populasi kima tetap lestari. Giant clams are ecologically important bivalves in coral reefs. These marine organisms have been under anthropogenic pressures in almost all part of Indonesia. Even though this species is protected under Government Regulation (PP) No. 7, 1999, but the illegal harvesting is still happened. This not only caused the declining the number of individual and species, but also could lead to a decrease the genetic diversity of this species. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the genetic diversity of Tridacna maxima based on COI genetic markers from Kur Island, Biak Island and Manado. The study used 15 samples T. maxima from Kur Islan (This study) then compared with genbank data (11 samples from Biak and 8 samples from Manado). Sequence analysis of mitochondrial (mt) DNA T. maxima resulted 432 base pairs, which contained 23 haplotypes with total numbers of 59 polymorphic sites. The results show that genetic diversity of the T. maxima population was very high (0.95). The genetic distance between populations in this study ranged from the lowest (0,009) for Kur vs Manado to the highest (0,043) for Biak vs Manado. The filogenetic tree showed that there were two main clades, i.e. 1) T. maxima calde of Kur, Biak, and Manado and 2) T. maxima clade of Biak. The pairwise method analysis (FST) showed a significant genetic structure in the population of T. maxima in Kur with Biak (Fst = 0.558; p = 0.000) and Manado with Biak (Fst = 0.427; p = 0.012), whereas there was relatively no significant differentiation within population in Kur and Manado (Fst = 0.087; p = 0.064). The conservation effort for T. maxima population in Kur island is prioritized by implementing the local wisdom called Sasi with strengthened by the formation of regional marine conservation area on research sites.

The article deals with the causes of the negative situation in the banking sector, as the state of the bank depends on the analysis of almost all aspects of banking activity for some time. It is determined that during the banking sector audits, the state regulator uses analytical data on the banking sector's operations with its monetary obligations, compliance with maturities and maturities of assets that operate and terms and amounts of liabilities, namely, dealing with banking sector liquidity. As their financial reliability is important in the banking sector, therefore, bank clients are a socio-economic sector, needing an objective and independent assessment, as reliability directly affects the socio-economic development of the country. The banking sector was analyzed in 2016-2019 and it was found that during this period violations of laws and regulations issued by the state regulator were made in the banking sector. A number of penalties, written warnings and administrative penalties were applied by the state regulator. The method of determining the rating of banks in respect of which penalties were applied by the state regulator is proposed. The rating allows investors and potential clients to understand the situation in the banking market and helps banks identify their weaknesses and correct their work. The application of the proposed economic and mathematical model in the rating of participants in the banking sector can have a positive effect on: improving the quality of management in the banking sector and transparency in the activities of each individual bank; standardization of technologies of rating of the banking sector under the prism of the applied sanctions by the state regulator. Therefore, there is a need for an in-depth study of the techniques used by credit rating agencies in the banking sector and the identification of the main problems in establishing the rating of the banking sector. AbstractWhilst it is established that almost all cultivated coffee (Coffea arabica L.) varieties originated in Yemen after some coffee seeds were introduced into Yemen from neighboring Ethiopia, the actual coffee genetic diversity in Yemen and its significance to the coffee world had never been explored. We observed five genetic clusters. The first cluster, which we named the Ethiopian-Only (EO) cluster, was made up exclusively of the Ethiopian accessions. This cluster was clearly separated from the Yemen and cultivated varieties clusters, hence confirming the genetic distance between wild Ethiopian accessions and coffee cultivated varieties around the world. The second cluster, which we named the SL-17 cluster, was a small cluster of cultivated worldwide varieties and included no Yemen samples. Two other clusters were made up of worldwide varieties and Yemen samples. We named these the Yemen Typica-Bourbon cluster and the Yemen SL-34 cluster. Finally, we observed one cluster that was unique to Yemen and was not related to any known cultivated varieties and not even to any known Ethiopian accession: we name this cluster the New-Yemen cluster. We discuss the consequences of these findings and their potential to pave the way for further comprehensive genetic improvement projects for the identification of major resilience/adaptation and cup quality genes that have been shaped through the domestication process of C. arabica.

This study aimed to assess the effect of genetic diversity on physiological quality of soybean seeds stored in cold chamber and under environmental conditions. Ten cultivars were assessed in a randomized factorial design (2x10). Factor 1 corresponded to two storage conditions and factor 2 to ten soybean cultivars, with four replications. The evaluated variables were total germination (G%), first count of germination (F%), percentage of abnormal seedlings (AS%), germination speed index (GSI), water content (WC), electrical conductivity (EC), dry matter of seedlings (DMS) and length of seedlings (LS). Data underwent ANOVA, followed by Scott Knott test, as well as multivariate analysis of genetic diversity. The results showed a higher physiological quality for seeds under cold storage. Half of the cultivars (FPS Júpiter, FPS Urano, FPS Antares, FPS Netuno and CD 250) presented high germination rates and seed vigor, being thus indicated as high-standard materials for further breeding programs. Besides that, storage environment had influence on the clustering of soybean cultivars. Moreover, cultivars had genetic dissimilarity for almost all assessed traits as G%, GSI, F%, AS%, EC, DMS and LS.

Genetic divergence of 40 parental lines comprising 30 restorer and 10 maintainer lines were studied through Mohalanobis's D2 and principal component analysis for eleven characters. Genotypes were grouped into five different clusters. Cluster V comprised maximum number of genotypes (thirteen) followed by cluster I and II. The inter-cluster distance was maximum between clusters I and V (13.495) indicating wide genetic diversity between these two clusters followed by the distance between cluster I and 11 (9.489), cluster IV, and cluster V (8.969) and cluster I and cluster III (8.039). The minimum inter-cluster distance was observed between cluster II and cluster III (3.034) followed by cluster 111 and cluster IV (3.834) and cluster II and cluster V (4.945) indicating that the genotypes of these clusters were genetically close. The intra cluster distance in the entire five clusters was more or less low which indicated that the genotypes within the same cluster were closely related. Among the characters panicle weight contributed most for divergence in the studied parental lines. Difference in cluster means existed for almost all the characters studied. Highest mean value for number of effective tillers (7.8), days to 50% flowering (95.5), panicles/m2 (192.6), panicle weight (2.9), spikelet fertility (84.8), number of grains/panicle (177.8), days to maturity (123.6), and grain yield/plot (1065.5) were observed in cluster I indicated the parental lines fallen in this cluster having the genetic potentiality to contribute better for yield maximization of hybrid rice. The article is devoted to the study of the experience of legal regulation of the legal status of cryptocurrencies and transactions with them in Asian countries (except for the People's Republic of China and Asian countries - members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, as the author examined them in separate publications). In the article the author, based on the study of regulations, administrative and judicial practice of all major countries in this part of the world, emphasizes the divergent trends in cryptocurrency transactions regulation in the region, when some countries move from a liberal approach to the use of cryptocurrencies to their total ban and vice versa. It is noted that almost all countries in the region give a legal assessment of the payment function of cryptocurrencies, using regulatory or prohibitive approaches, depending on the chosen policy, which indirectly confirms their understanding of the legal nature of cryptocurrencies primarily as a means of payment. At the same time, these countries not only categorically distinguish cryptocurrencies from fiat money issued by central banks, but also mostly avoid the official definition of cryptocurrency as private (decentralized) cash, preferring to qualify them as an intangible asset, virtual asset, digital asset, financial value and even a good or service, which is currently a kind of compromise between political expediency and economic realities. The author also notes that the Asian region is characterized by very active attempts to resolve the legal status of cryptocurrencies at the legislative level, and not just administrative or judicial response to the actual legal relationship, although the progress of different countries in this matter is different. As a result, the author concludes that in the Asian countries considered in the article, there is no same view on the legal nature of cryptocurrency, its qualification as an object of civil rights, and ways to regulate transactions with it (libertarian approach, positive-cryptocurrency approach but with detailed government regulation and control or a completely restrictive policy in relation to the cryptocurrency market).

Abstract:Environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding is emerging as a biomonitoring tool available to the citizen science community that promises to augment or replace photographic observation. However, eDNA results and photographic observations have rarely been compared to document their individual or combined power. Here, we use eDNA multilocus metabarcoding, a method deployed by the CALeDNA Program, to inventory and evaluate biodiversity variation along the Pillar Point headland near Half Moon Bay, California. We describe variation in presence of 13,000 taxa spanning 82 phyla, analyze spatiotemporal patterns of beta diversity, and identify metacommunities. Inventory and measures of turnover across space and time from eDNA analysis are compared to the same measures from Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) data, which contain information largely contributed by iNaturalist photographic observations. We find eDNA depicts local signals with high seasonal turnover, especially in prokaryotes. We find a diverse community dense with pathogens and parasites in the embayment, and a State Marine Conservation Area (SMCA) with lower species richness than the rest of the beach peninsula, but with beta diversity signals showing resemblance to adjacent unprotected tidepools. The SMCA differs in observation density, with higher density of protozoans, and animals in Ascidiacea, Echinoidea, and Polycladida. Local contributions to beta diversity are elevated in a section of East-facing beach. GBIF observations are mostly from outside the SMCA, limiting some spatial comparisons. However, our findings suggest eDNA samples can link the SMCA sites to sites with better GBIF inventory, which may be useful for imputing species from one site given observations from another. Results additionally support >3800 largely novel biological interactions. This research, and accompanying interactive website support eDNA as a gap-filling tool to measure biodiversity that is available to community and citizen scientists.

AbstractWild maize, commonly known as teosinte, has a wide distribution in central Mexico and inhabits a wide range of environmental conditions. According to previous studies, the environment is a determinant factor for the amount and distribution of genetic diversity. In this study, we used a set of neutral markers to explore the influence of contemporary factors and historical environmental shifts on genetic diversity, including present and three historical periods. Using a set of 22 nuclear microsatellite loci, we genotyped 527 individuals from 29 localities. We found highly variable levels of genetic diversity (Z. m. parviglumis HE= 0.3646–0.7699; Z. m. mexicana HE= 0.5885–0.7671) and significant genetic structure among localities (average DEST= 0.4332). Also, we recovered significant values of heterozygote deficiency (average FIS= 0.1796) and variable levels of selfing (sg2=0.0–0.3090). The Bayesian assignment analysis yielded four genetic clusters dividing the sample into subspecies, that in turn, were separated into two clusters. Environmental conditions played a strong influence in the distribution of genetic diversity, as demographic analysis and changes in species range revealed by modeling analyses were consistent. We conclude that current genetic diversity in teosinte is the result of a mixture of local adaptation and genetic isolation along with historical environmental fluctuations.
